Mouna Ragam DYK
The article has just passed its GA status, and its up for DYK. Apologies if you did not want to be a co-nominator (I added you because of your experience in DYK, and the catchy hooks you can think of). Kailash29792 (talk) 12:20, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: You cannot make nominations that are almost totally incomplete. You could've asked someone like Blofeld before creating the page. I cannot see User:Thamizhan1994's name anywhere in the nomination page. After all, he is the one who took the article to GA status. Besides, I don't think co-nominations are allowed for non-self nominations in DYKs. Can you go through this page and make the adjustments accordingly? —Vensatry (ping) 14:00, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- Apologies. I'll be out for six days, so please request the DYK page deleted, or restart it somehow. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:21, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'm afraid, I can't delete that. You can do that by placing the G7 tag as you are the creator. —Vensatry (ping) 17:52, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Hey! Mind if I ask how you check DYK eligibility? Coz, the 'Page size' and 'DYK check' tools on the left pane aren't working for me and are returning the prose size as '0 B (0 words)'!! -- Sriram speak up 14:51, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
- Must be some temporary error. Use the page size tool. —Vensatry (ping) 15:22, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

@Kailash29792: Please read the criteria once again and make the changes accordingly. The article is a recently promoted GA, but it's not mentioned anywhere in the nomination page. Also Thamizhan is the one who took the article to GA status. Your name should only be there under the "nominator" field as it's a non-self nomination. Presently it would mean that you're taking the credit away from Thamizhan (no offense though) . Also I don't think co-nominations are allowed for non-self nominations. —Vensatry (ping) 08:23, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- The nomination line should be "Created/expanded by Thamizhan1994 (Appo Pesu). Nominated by Kailash29792 (talk)." —Vensatry (ping) 08:25, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Have a look at this non-self nomination by me to get a clear idea. —Vensatry (ping) 08:31, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Thank you, ardent writer who names people as "a source of inspiration", for quality articles for project Tamil civilization, such as Tiruchirappalli. for applying your "phenomenally meticulous" standards in reviews of featured lists and good articles, for fighting vandalism, trivia and being a wiki-fairy, for offering tea on meeting - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

First Kamal film
Hi Vensatry, I am pleased to inform you that my GA nomination for Aval Appadithan was passed straight (without any changes being asked to be made). The film is the first Kamal Haasan film and the fourth Rajinikanth film to be given a GA status. Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:16, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Hello! Your submission of Aval Appadithan at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Since you mentioned about this film in my talk page, might as well expand it. I have collected sources. Would you help me find more additional sources, bro? Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:08, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Saw your sandbox. In fact, I'd like to collaborate. But given my limited time here, I seriously doubt that'll ever happen. However, I'll try to find out sources. —Vensatry (ping) 06:57, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- I am watching the film right now to get a better idea. It has subtitles FYI. Ssven2 speak 2 me 08:48, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Expanded the article and submitted to GOCE for copyediting yesterday. Hope the GA review goes well. Ssven2 speak 2 me 09:05, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Nice work! But every time why do you guys give undue weightage for scenes/dialogues from the film (under progress) being re-used in later ones often in a comical sequences? Stuff like that looks more trivial rather than encyclopaedic! Also I see that you are repeatedly editing text to make your signature look the way you wanted. Instead, go to "preferences" (at the top-right) -> User profile. Under signature insert the code in the box provided and tick "Treat the above as wiki markup." —Vensatry (ping) 18:38, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- It is mainly done to show the film's popularity. Lack of proper sources are a major problem as well. Maybe I can write a sub-heading "In popular culture" above those details or shall I remove the whole thing? BTW, thx 4 d signatures thing. Really helps. Ssven2 speak 2 me 04:51, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

I think there is probably a bug in the Page size's tool-script. Whenever I use it for articles that I have contributed significantly, like Gemini, Anniyan or Vikram filmography, it shows everything as 0 (zero).
For eg: In Vikram filmography, it shows:
File size: 252 kB Prose size (including all HTML code): 0 B References (including all HTML code): 0 B Wiki text: 68 kB Prose size (text only): 0 B (2 words) "readable prose size" References (text only): 0 B
However, it works properly for other articles. Like, Raavanan shows:
File size: 280 kB Prose size (including all HTML code): 33 kB References (including all HTML code): 11 kB Wiki text: 67 kB Prose size (text only): 17 kB (2942 words) "readable prose size" References (text only): 866 B
Have you encountered the same problem, or is it functioning properly? -- Sriram speak up 10:48, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Akkineni Nageswara Rao 2013.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Akkineni Nageswara Rao 2013.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 20:50, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
