Filmfare Awards South
Hey, that's a great find, a big step forward! Now you have almost completed the table, well done! Also I'm thinking of changing the format of the pages because of the inclusion of nominees. It should later look like this or this, so we don't need a separate section for nominations! Don't feel like doing it now, will do so later! Johannes003 (talk) 16:40, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- No, certainly we can't get all nomination lists for all years. And I'm also pretty sure that there haven't been always nominations, perhaps since 2000 or even later. We could find a video coverage of the 2003 ceremony at youtube, only thereby we came to know that there have been nominees for that year's awards already. I don't know when they started nominating, but I think it was not all that long ago. Nevertheless, we should change the format, it will be clearer and neater and there won't be any repetitions. Reg. the years 1987-90, I will try my best to find out as much as possible. Johannes003 (talk) 17:11, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Why should that be impossible? I don't think they have been announcing nominations every year since 1972, that seems very unlikely. That's what I feel and even if that was true, there is no way we could get the lists. And no, except for the ones listed on the respective pages, I don't know any other nominees. Johannes003 (talk) 17:25, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I would have also assessed the article as B, and it's good to see it's been expanded from a stub. If you plan on going further with the article, I'd recommend further expanding the citation formatting. Try and include all parameters such as author, title, work, date, etc. Good work on the article. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 05:04, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

- I've got my word up on this issue at the Indian Cinema Task Force, check it out. We cannot leave it at his edit. On a side note, nice work cleaning up Sivaji Ganesan. EelamStyleZ (talk) 16:28, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm planning on spending a lengthy time through Tamil cinema making copy-edits soon. It needs massive clean up now. An editor has added loads of good faith contributions, without giving sources, even after I warned him about it. All of that needs to be checked. EelamStyleZ (talk) 03:04, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- If you believe he is a sock, you can add it on Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Padmalakshmisx, who was the master of the one you mentioned, then maybe he can be blocked indefinitely. Or if you don't know how to do that, you can complain about him on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism and accuse of sock puppetry there as well. Unfortunately these people keep coming back for some reason. BollyJeff || talk 13:16, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi, why did you remove all the gross information and tables from that page? It had been sourced as well. Johannes003 (talk) 16:59, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I think there is nothing wrong in listing that table there. It's not just a list of films, it shall give an overview of Tamil cinema in that year. It is done similarly for other language films as well, we just adopted that from there. Johannes003 (talk) 19:36, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- That's easier said than done. Such lists don't exist for previous years (or I didn't come across such lists yet). I know it's not perfect, but it's still better than nothing. Johannes003 (talk) 10:56, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- He was a sock puppet? Good that he's been blocked now, he was one of these more stubborn people. It's hard to deal with such persons, who just don't want to listen. Glad we got rid of him finally, but I think this is not over yet, he will come back. Johannes003 (talk) 12:15, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yup, I've seen his account and it appears he's been blocked, which comes as pleasurable news. I somewhat doubt him being a sock of User:Sreekar Akkineni, however, since the way both users spoke on talk pages seems different, but that possibility can't be ruled out. We'll keep an eye out for him if he's back for more trouble. On a side note, have you noticed User:Active Banana's user page and talk page? Something doesn't seem right - just a hunch. Firstly, though, Aishwarya Rai's mother tongue in Tulu she was largely brought up in Mumbai. I don't she might, herself, be able to read the Kannada/Tulu transliteration. Secondly, there are linguistic chauvinists who are bound to create problems. I can find a thousand other reasons (apart from script issues) to fight with you and revert you on Aishwarya Rai article. Wikipedia's rules do not necessarily state that we should appease fringe groups in order to prevent vandalism. Nevertheless, I do not insist on it. The article published by Malayala Manorama says that Sathyan won the Filmfare Awards in the year 1963 and 69. Filmfare Awards South
Hey, can you do me a favour? The Filmfare Awards South page titles, such as Filmfare Best Actor Award (Telugu), are actually written incorrectly. In the ceremony the would have a hyphen to differentiate between the languages, not brackets. Also "Filmfare Best Actor Award" or "Filmfare Best Director Award" seems inconsistent with all other award articles, such as the titles for Bollywood's Filmfare Awards, which are written as "Filmfare Award for Best Actor" or "Filmfare Award for Best Director". I'm changing the names in Tamil, could you cover other Filmfare Award South pages as well? They should be in "Filmfare Award for Best (1) - (2)" where (1) is the type of award (actor, director, film, etc.) and (2) is the language (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada). Thanks! EelamStyleZ (talk) 13:28, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- No, I didn't mean literally write Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada with forward slashes, I meant the (2) in the naming convention I suggested meant write either Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, or Malayalam, depending on the language of the award you are moving. So for example, "Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu" and "Filmfare Award for Best Music Director - Malayalam". I've finished moving the Tamil awards by the way. EelamStyleZ (talk) 13:49, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- Great work. If you got time try fixing the redirects from some pages that may have the old links, such as film pages or actor pages who one the awards. I'll do that as well. Thanks again! EelamStyleZ (talk) 15:25, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't know about the movie, or why her winning of the Ford Supermodel Contest in 1991 would not be mentioned if it were true. Ford Models Supermodel of the World shows someone else as the winner that year. Take it up on her talk page. BollyJeff || talk 13:43, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

- Well, I have found that some reviewers are very difficult on BLP articles. You guys maybe got lucky with an easy reviewer on Rajini. I had a hard time with Shriya Saran and eventually gave up. Aish is much more well known though, so it ought to be easier to find good sources for her. Probably a lot of the stuff listed in the International media section is also listed in the separate article List of awards and nominations received by Aishwarya Rai, and most are awards and honors, so the section heading is misleading. I think the reviewer is right; we should remove that section, put some of that stuff in the Awards and honors section and move some to the other article. The fact was ... that Deiva Magan (1969) was the first ever Tamil film to be submitted by India in contest for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Enthiran stability
Hi,
There seems to be a bit of off-article-talk bad faith about, so I thought I'd drop you a friendly note pointing out the viewpoint raised by others on my talk page here. Perhaps you could help by ponding if an RFC, WikiProject discussion or similar consensus process rather than only article talk page discussion might help stabilize Enthiran, and avoid the same problem with using estimated financial figures rather than audited and independent figures spilling over as a dispute with other Indian film articles. The more heated discussion appears to be created by newer Wikimedians who may not be aware of the benefit of following some of the longer term consensus processes and who are probably over-interpreting some of the actions taken as personal. Cheers Fæ (talk) 06:51, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- It is sad to see Enthiran undergoing reassessment, but I think the reason is legitimate. Hopefully with this reassessment we can come to a good solution with all disputes and if it loses GA, we can work together in building it up right and bring it back to GA. Hello, while going through the pages of Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai, it was stated that the area of Chennai is 174 square km and Mumbai is 603 while Hyderabad claims to cover 650, larger than Mumbai and Chennai. Hey, that's awesome! Checked some pages and made some minor additions. Dead links can be rescued sometimes through the Wayback machine. I re-added the Dinakaran link. Also looks like you have been able to complete the Filmfare list for best actor, good! Johannes003 (talk) 21:52, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- And regarding the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil between 1987 and 1991: according to this link, Radhika won it 1990 for Keladi Kanmani and Gauthami in 1991 for Nee Padhi Naan Padhi. But then it also states that a leading actress, either Simran or Kausalya, won the award in 1997 for Nerukku Ner, which conflicts with the existing source, while Jyothika is supposed to have won the FF Award for Best Debutant in 1999 for Poovellam Kettupaar, which could be true. Not sure about how reliable this is. Johannes003 (talk) 22:07, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
- Nice work with TNSFA. Actually, it wasn't me who added the superlatives for the Filmfare Awards South, but I did recently clean that part of the article up. Hello, check this out. EelamStyleZ (talk) 22:29, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'll get something written up about it soon. I removed sortability because I noticed many other actors, like Shahrukh Khan, not having it. Also, I don't think there is much use with adding sortability to a filmography chart, because readers would rather see the chart chronologically and not in any other way. If everyone else thinks sortability should be there then we can revert it. EelamStyleZ (talk) 15:37, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi! Well, are you sure it was given only since 1964? This year, the 58th Filmfare function is to be held, which means the first ceremony should have happened 57 years ago, in 1954. Something is wrong... Johannes003 (talk) 22:14, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

58th Fillmfare Awards South
I expected someone would open a page, but till now nobody did, so I created it. It took just about an hour. :) You may fill the winners in. Also checked out the Cinema Express pages. Are these awards that much notable?? Anyway, it will be too difficult and probably impossible to find out and add all winners. Johannes003 (talk) 16:58, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, I don't know much about Cinema Express Award, it's not given anymore, is it? If it as "notable" as Vijay Award, then it certainly can be considered as notable. Edison Awards are totally unnotable! Unknown, unpopular, very minor award and I don't why it even has an article on wikipedia. I would rather delete it. Johannes003 (talk) 18:07, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Regarding the Superlatives section in Filmfare Awards South, I'm not getting what you mean by "maximum no. of wins is only 4". There is already that table for frequent winners, then why add another section? And why playback singers only?? If you start this, you have to start for all categories, actors, directors, lyricists etc. If Karthik or Shreya win more awards in following years they may enter that table. I feel this is redundant now. Johannes003 (talk) 10:19, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, but then as I said, you have to do that for all categories across all languages and the lists in other languages aren't even complete. You just said, there are large number of people who have won 4 or more awards, then isn't it unfair to add the playback singers only? Why not lyricists too, music directors, cinmeatographers or choreographers? Also that Filmfare page doesn't have this frequent winners table. I don't think it's a good idea, it's not needed at all! Johannes003 (talk) 10:41, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- In my opinion, it's redundant. Either you have to keep that table with frequent winners or you have to create this kind of subsection for all categories, but you can't have both. And categories means everything, actors, actresses, music directors, lyricists and technicians too. This list of frequent winners is universal, I find it much better. I would rather remove it, that's all. Johannes003 (talk) 11:22, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Hema Malini
Sure you may join in Shashi filmography later. But right now i would like to point out that in Hema Malini wiki article nothing is written about her box office hit onscreen pair with Rajesh Khanna in the eighties after her marriage to Dharam (atleast 6 hits from 1980-1987 Bandish ,Kudrat ,Dard, Rajput,Hum Dono ,Babu) plus Prem Nagar in 1974 and Andaz in 1971.Also only its mentioned she did many movies with Jeetendra but her hits namely Waris, Dulhan ,Khushboo ,Kinara , Meri Aawaz Suno ,Jyoti, Farz Aur Kanoon ,Justice Chaudhury and Qaidi find no mention. If somehow you manage to insert these info in wiki article it would be great.Paglakahinka (talk) 17:55, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
Iam waiting for you to mention that her films with Rajesh Khanna were flops from 1975-1979 but after her mairrage were big blockbusters (films as mentioned above) in addition to the films she did with him in her beginning of her career in hindi film industry like Andaz and Prem Nagar. And yes offcourse with Jeetendra she had hits (films i mentioned above) plus fact that she worked with him, even after and before her mairrage to Dharam.Paglakahinka (talk) 18:15, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
I suggest please first finish writing the wiki article about Hema Malini as some user named Shshsh seems to be anti Rajesh Khanna and is removing the information provided with references that their pairing was popular. Even the names of their films have been removed. Refer http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hema_Malini&action=historysubmit&diff=437812542&oldid=437750585 Paglakahinka (talk) 04:05, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Hema Malini Filmography
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hema_Malini&action=historysubmit&diff=437682603&oldid=437675912. You will get an idea of what needs to be written about Hema's associatio with Rajesh Khanna.Paglakahinka (talk) 11:12, 4 July 2011 (UTC) User Shshs is engaging in edit war inspite of me having given relaible sources.Paglakahinka (talk) 11:32, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Filmography.
was i not speaking to you regarding chnages to be made in Hema Malini article and writing about her associations with Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra? No, if you see in case of fimographies of actors who have done more than 150 films as leading amn, such details need to be mentioned only to provide exact information to the reader. Its useful . So needs to be provided.I guess you are referring to Shashi Kpoor filmorgaphy. He has acted in English and Hindi movies plus his association with merchant Invory productions is known by the world. So to know the difference between films in English produced by them and others - that needs to be shown. Generally directors are always mentioned with year, names, role and co stars in filmographies. Shahsi's case is exceptional so producer is needed. Dont worry, i will add the details later. You may help in putting all the film names in order and leave space for other details for me to fill in.Paglakahinka (talk) 18:18, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
Dont worry about all that. AS mentioned above producer, director columns is needed for Shashi Kapoor filmorgaphy for sure. But first sort out Hema Malini article regarding her association (HIT FILMS) with Rajesh Khanna and JEETENDRA.Paglakahinka (talk) 07:02, 5 July 2011 (UTC) Ur comment was removed from my takpage because it was a completely wrong statement by you. Shshs is not a god, without discussing on talk page he is doing edit war. So your comment was removed, Citwf is very much a reliable source.Paglakahinka (talk) 14:07, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Re: Rev Deletion
Vensatry, there is no need for a revision deletion in this case. I see you have already reverted the IP vandalism. Revs are deleted when personal information is revealed and can harm someone in real life (see Revision deletion). — Ganeshk (talk) 21:46, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Illayaraja
Venky, the below format is more suitable for Illayaraja filmography, as it is more clear and can provide more information on each movie in a single row including its dubbed versions. What do you say ?
Year | Film | Language | Director | Date | Cast | Other notes |

DYK for Keechaka Vadham
On 7 July 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Keechaka Vadham, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Keechaka Vadham was the first silent film made in South India? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Reverts on Bangalore
Hi, you reverted these edits on Bangalore (they had to be!), and you gave a warning on unsourced edits to the user. If you may, I'll change the warning to uw-npov as he seemed to be POV pushing with those edits. Cheers! — Abhishek Talk 17:11, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- You're right. I didn't really see the last part of his edit. I mainly noticed the statement about the Tamil population, which he did not cite. Thanks! --Commander (Ping Me) 04:57, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Annavru (2003)
Venky, Recently i found that, you removed the Annavru (2003) page itself while removing a line from Mani Ratnam's page. Annavru (2003), the remake of Thalapathy was a well informed page. May I know the reason f its removal ? Rajeshbieee (talk) 09:21, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
