Re: Thanks
You are welcome :-) The link only says that the Tiruchirappalli UA includes the municipal corporation and the municipalities mentioned in the list. A 2003 book gives stats on Trichy's area. We need a link which explicitly states that Tiruchi's area is 140-odd square kilometres. On my part, I, too, shall make a search. By the way, I've raised the issue on the India discussion page.-RaviMy Tea Kadai 16:35, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Shriya GA
That was a hard fought battle, let me tell you. Not this time, but the last GA nomination, and all the work to improve it from then till now. I would like to attack a couple other articles like DDLJ, which I started on, but I just can't find enough sources to do it justice. Today I am in a battle (I am not sure why) over scripts on Talk:Katrina_Kaif#RfC_Concerning_Kashmiri_Script. BollyJeff || talk 19:34, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Karthi
Karthi's page has been copy-edited a second time and I am absolutely not happy with it. I may even say the editor has butchered the article. All citations have been changed to "he said" and "he wrote", makes the article sound monotonous...and so many paragraphs. He has simply removed some claims (that were not false!), no idea why he did so. And as if that was not enough, he himself has added grammar/spelling mistakes or overlooked them. Horrible copy-editing this is! On the other hand, compare it to Vikram's article, it looks perfect and has been passed without any objections. We should have copy-edited on our own! Really really not happy. Johannes003 (talk) 18:40, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
- With respect, Johannes003, please read the Manual of Style. I'm sorry if I made grammatical and spelling errors; please point them out and I'll fix them. If my copy-editing style is "horrible", feel free to contact me at my talk page rather than complain about
memy work behind my back on somebody else's talk page. Thanks, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 17:47, 8 November 2011 (UTC)- With respect, Baffle gab, I just expressed my displeasure to another editor, whose idea it was to "improve" the article and promote it to GA level. I adressed him because it was he who said some third person from the GOCE should copy-edit the article. I thought of writing on the talk page, but then I didn't want to hurt you. (I agree, though, that I was too harsh and should have avoided terms like "horrible". I didn't expect you to read this. I apologize!) I have read WP:MOS, I have seen numerous other good and featured articles. You have done your work, it may be correct or not, but I am just not happy with it. You may correct false sentences or remove redundant claims, but was it necessary to change whole clauses and sentence structures. And words like "stated", "claimed", "noted" are all not allowed? A word like "Box office success" or "eventually" is forbidden? Back in school, I learned we shall use a variety of words rather than overuse certain words. I don't want to pinpoint and question every minor edit of yours, after all we requested a copy-edit and you are doing all this voluntarily. I was just wondering, why it is wrong here, while it is allowed in other articles. Whatever, you continue your work, you seem to know what you're doing and as long as nobody (else) is complaining, it's all fine. I'm feeling discontent and have lost interest in this article. Johannes003 (talk) 22:37, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
- Johannes003, thank you for replying. I wasn't expecting to find your comments either, I stumbled across them by accident. I didn't take your comments personally, and I now wish I'd left it alone. Negative feedback is helpful because it helps me improve my editing, and I don't claim to be perfect.Regarding my edits, those terms (Box office success', 'eventually' etc) are not 'forbidden' at all, but if they're used redundantly I remove them. Articles can become cluttered with redundancies and metaphors that make them hard to understand, so I remove them.Likewise I remove references that don't actually reference the text. This can leave articles a little monotonous but I can only really edit what's in the article.India generally uses British English spellings, which might account for some of the spelling problems you've found - otherwise I'm sorry for my sloppiness! I accept your apology; thank you. :-) I hope you don't feel discouraged to continue editing this and other articles. Thank you again for replying and good wishes with the G.A. nomination. Something wrong
In the Chennai article, it says that the city is the "second most densely populated after Delhi". Density of a city means the population per unit area. Mumbai has a larger population and a much smaller area compared to Delhi, how can Delhi be the most dense? It should be Mumbai, Delhi, then Chennai. And Kolkata has a population larger than that of Chennai. What are your thoughts about this? Secret of success Talk to me 13:04, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- If the area is unclear, then how can we say without doubt that Chennai is the second most densely populated city? No, Delhi has a larger area and a smaller population compared to Mumbai (we should follow only what is stated in the page!). I have changed it to "one of the most densely populated cities." Please put forward your objections, if you have any. Secret of success Talk to me 13:31, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, but unless we have the latest sources, we had better not put any emphasis on this in the article. Hope thats fine with you. Secret of success Talk to me 14:13, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
- I doubt if census covers the density of cities, but if it does, then we can add it only when it releases. Otherwise if you can find authentic sources published after 2010, its fine. Thats how it is :P Secret of success Talk to me 14:36, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

Rajinikanth
The lead looks nice now. I made a minor capitalization correction, otherwise it looks good. However, I don't feel right about mentioning films that "elevated him" as it could lead to POV. We need clear cut sources for those kinds of things. Consider Vijay (actor), where some editors are keen on adding Kaavalan and Velayudham to the list of films that are mentioned in the lead on that page. Overtime, this list can accumulate and editors will be more prone to add their favourite films. Of course, that can be changed with reverts, but it's always good to avoid edit wars. That's my opinion on mentioning multiple films in lead sections. EelamStyleZ (talk) 17:13, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

You guys do not make Wikipedia a place for your's own preferences and approach. I made it very clear and going with the already mentioned reasons and causes. There is a very thin line between a legitimate, correct statement and POV pushing. I cannot hold responsible for you if you keep on deciding all are POV's. How can you argue on me, I am doing POV here when all materials support are done with clear, concise reason as told before in the discussion page. Please do not use your powers, strategy to ignore it for own individual purpose. Also this fact is neutral and not highlighted for any reason other than to include it as one of the statements. - Hmm, if it isn't too great then feel free to change it back. I grouped certain sections so that they can create sections that are roughly the same size as others. If you take the previous section 'Sabattical after Baba' it's a relatively small section when compared to the previous 'Resurgence and acclaim'. Same with the 'Early life' section and 'Early career' sections—they seemed like small sections in comparison to other sections when ungrouped. Perhaps if we could expand each section enough with reliable sources then splitting them up shouldn't be a problem. I'm not too much of a fan of the titles I gave the grouped sections either—see if you could come up with a more apt heading if you decide to keep the sections grouped. Nope, In fact I had put the link for Moonam Pakkam and that was conveniently removed without any justification. I will restore it as Moonam Pakkam was not in her filmography and I had added it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Licint (talk • contribs)
Indeed, you won't see the links. Contribution by other memmbers are indeed unencyclopedic to you. Anyway, check my earlier version and search for Moonam...you will see the name and link of this movie "Moonam Pakkam (1988) .... Pachu's mom" This is now conveniently reverted coz you and you friends don't appreciate the contribution of other members. I will be putting this link coz everybody has the right to contribute. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Licint (talk • contribs)
- First of all do sign the talk pages by typing four tildes. Now coming to your edits, I didn't say that the movie that you added was not right. You added a sentence which was a Point of View and doing edits like that breaches the formal tone of Wikipedia. —Commander (Ping me) 18:15, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
You just tagged someone's edit as "nonsense" How wikipedic is that. All I can say is, there are plenty of wiki bullies around, but they won't deter someone from contributing to Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Licint (talk • contribs)
- First of all assume good faith. I didn't mean to hurt you. Inspite of multiple warnings by me and another user, you constantly kept adding those sentences which made me a bit upset. —Commander (Ping me) 05:16, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Re: Hemamalini
That's exactly the reason why :-). The article says that Hemamalini is from Ammangudi in Tiruchi dt. But the Wikipedia article on Ammankudi claims that the place is in Thanjavur district. So since we are not sure whether she is from Tiruchi, I thought of removing the category.-RaviMy Tea Kadai 05:29, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Rajinikanth image
I agree, there should be free images of Rajinikanth in the article. However, finding them are hard. I shall try searching for any free images on the web sometime this week and upload them to WP. EelamStyleZ talk 16:58, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, that should be good too. Not too much though. I've uploaded a couple Enthiran screenshots and Chitti (character) page has some too. Other Rajini film screenshots may also be found in Wikimedia Commons. If you're gonna take screenshots of films yourself do make sure its from a 'clear' and original DVD. Enthiran
Is it relevant to mention that Enthiran was considered as India's submission for oscar in the article? Source. Just like in Krrish, it says that it was "considered" for submission, so it seems notable enough for a note in the article. What do you think? X.One SOS 10:18, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, but where do you add it? In the "awards" section, you cannot say that it was nominated, nor can you say "it was nominated to be nominated" (that would be really odd). Maybe we can add it in the "Release" or "critical reception" section. Though I can't say anything more. I doubt if the article can be considered for GA without highlighting that award. X.One SOS 11:42, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- Aha, that's were the problem spurts. We use a table for the awards and the last column must have either a "Won" or "nominated" template, otherwise the uniformity would be thrown to the winds. Perhaps a better solution would be to put "nominated" and say that it was done for "Indian selection for Academy award for Foreign language" because it was nominated to be nominated and not nominated to win the award. :D It looks a bit confusing, but no so if it is mentioned in the article. What do you say? X.One SOS 11:44, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- And how exactly do we create one when there is no need to do so as all awards are mentioned with enough detail and in a concise manner? It would be against Wp:PLOT. Now, the only way to do it is as I have suggested above. X.One SOS 12:38, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- I proposed a separate article for Critical Response, but User:Fae had gone against it. I doubt if he would agree to this one. X.One SOS 12:58, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- Whatever, that doesn't matter to me. Speaking about socks, do you think this user is another sock of Padmal? X.One SOS 13:42, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
