Working in Wikipedia

[edit]

If you don't have access to a reference, please don't make claims that X is not supported by the reference. If you can't access a source you should ask if someone else has it and could provide it to you. (i got the Houglum book from google books, so you should be able to as well). I have a shitload of work to do and you have wasted my time. Jytdog (talk) 16:46, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I literally said "or at least the associated quote." What do you think the quote is supposed to be, if not support for the sentences the citation is attached to? As I said in the talk page, the existing quote doesn't appear to be used support anything in the article. -tronvillain (talk) 17:33, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Here is what you wrote: "Ah, I see you've switched to the Houglom reference, which doesn't actually contain the quote you mention," So now in addition to not checking sources before you challenge content, you are misrepresenting what you yourself said. If you continue to do things like this, people will just start ignoring you. This is not a game, it is scholarship. Do your own homework. Do not waste other volunteers' time - it is the most valuable thing Wikipedia has (and my time is the most valuable thing I have) Jytdog (talk) 18:30, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, that? Sorry, I meant that the attached quote didn't contain the quote you mention, not the text itself... which is why I suggested changing the attached quote. --tronvillain (talk) 18:41, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And I wasn't trying to misrepresent what I said, I thought you were talking about(further down on that same diff) "Also apparently unsupported by its citation (or at least the associated quote) is 'She also saw the body as continually under attack from gravity; in her view, gravity tends to compress fascia...'." --tronvillain (talk) 18:55, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So you are not even able to acknowledge that you raised all kinds of "concern" - in great detail - without having checked the source yourself. I have little patience for bullshit and none for people who double down when called on it. You get no more of my time. Jytdog (talk) 19:10, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I totally acknowledge that I didn't originally check the source myself... because I was talking about the quote attached to the reference. If the quote was just removed entirely, I wouldn't even have commented, but a large quote attached to a reference should support something in one of the three spots using it as a citation. Perhaps it was added as support of something else which was subsequently removed? Anyway, when you quoted a different part of the two referenced pages, I suggested changing the quote. And now that I've checked the source, it raises a few concerns of its own, as I mentioned on the talk page. --tronvillain (talk) 19:35, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That

[edit]

What about removing "that"? It is sometimes just extra verbiage and doesn't change the meaning. http://www.dailywritingtips.com/five-words-you-can-cut/ - Example - "Can you remember the time that you reverted changes removing a word?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikehenke (talkcontribs) 15:56, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Follow up comment to your remark

[edit]

Hi Tronvillain: That ED site certainly contains blatant, over-the-top, absurdly exaggerated statements about people and topics, in an attempt to appear humorous, I suspect. However, certainly on the JzG page, it provides a series of links to real, existing Wikipedia web pages / discussion pages that contain highly profane quotes authored by the admin. I'm sure I'm not mistaking what I'm seeing with my own eyes on Wikipedia discussion pages. So there evidently appears to be absurd falsehoods mixed with sprinkles of truth. Reason for fixing edit to The Daily Beast

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted ask why you undid my edit to The Daily Beast article that removed the line referring to it as liberal because of it's source.Scholar200 (talk) 03:53, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I undid that edit because The Daily Caller is an adequate source to establish something as subjective as it being described as liberal - there are countless other instances of it being described as such (usually by various conservative sites). That doesn't establish it as actually being liberal, which is why I have their self description there as well. --tronvillain (talk) 13:12, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Horizon edit

[edit]

I added information I compiled from several articles on the calculation of the distance to the horizon. You deleted it stating it was an unsupported opinion. But as a traumatic brain injury survivor, I don't understand things all the time. Can you explain what that means to you and why you applied it to my addition. What I read concluded that no equation is accurate enough to calculate the distance to the horizon because there are too many variables. These are what I thought were facts so can you help me understand. OK thank you and have a great day. Ldecarlo36@gmail.com Ldecarlo36 (talk) 10:15, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The effects of atmospheric refraction are discussed both at the beginning of the section, and in the subsection below. The assertion "The earth is circular so no matter what way we look the curve should be visible in this coastal photo, but the horizontal line separating the ocean from the sky appears just as it is, a horizontal line with no visual evidence of a curve." is simply inaccurate - at sea level on a sphere, the math does not predict any visible curvature of the horizon line. --tronvillain (talk) 17:30, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

An arbitration case regarding civility in infobox discussions has now closed and the final decision is viewable at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:

  1. Any uninvolved administrator may apply infobox probation as a discretionary sanction. See the full decision for details of infobox probation.
  2. Standard discretionary sanctions are authorized for all discussions about infoboxes and to edits adding, deleting, collapsing, or removing verifiable information from infoboxes.
  3. Cassianto is indefinitely placed on infobox probation.
  4. The Arbitration Committee recommends that well-publicized community discussions be held to address whether to adopt a policy or guideline addressing what factors should weigh in favor of or against including an infobox in a given article and how those factors should be weighted.
  5. All editors are reminded to maintain decorum and civility when engaged in discussions about infoboxes, and to not turn discussions about a single article's infobox into a discussion about infoboxes in general.
  6. For canvassing editors to this case, Volvlogia (talk · contribs) is admonished. They are warned that any further instances of canvassing related to arbitration processes will likely result in sanctions.

Chaos magic page

[edit]

Hi Tronvillian. Firstly, the strong feeling I'm getting is that you don't want to discuss the chaos magic page anymore, so I'm sorry for messaging you about this. However, I feel I should canvas your opinion, because it was you who put the "fringe theory" tag on the page in the first place. I've spent some time adding some new content to the page, under the "concept and terminology" section, in an attempt to give adequate weight to the mainstream view. I've tried to address this from the historical, theological, anthropological and psychological perspectives, and from the point of view of occultism more generally. Only then have I moved on to discussing the chaos magic viewpoint. Would you mind casting your eye over it and saying whether or not you think the mainstream view is addressed adequately, and -- if so -- whether you think the tag should now be removed? thx and a q

[edit]

Thanks for your cmts. I agree Uscinski and Parent have other purposes for their research. But rather than pursue any remaining issues on that thread, I'd rather ask for your thoughts on the following, if that's ok.

The term 'conspiracy theory' has been and continues to be used in legal contexts, e.g., as

  • From Yanev, L. D. (2018) Theories of Co-perpetration in International Criminal Law. Brill. p. 86: quoting Robert H. Jackson, U.S. Supreme Court Justice who helped draft the London Charter of the International Military Tribunal, which created the legal basis for the Nuremberg Trials. He then served in Nuremberg, Germany, as United States Chief Prosecutor at the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg: “The American proposal is that we utilize the conspiracy theory by which a common plan or understanding to accomplish an illegal end by any mean, or to accomplish any end by illegal means, renders everyone who participated liable for the acts of every other.”[Minutes of Conference Session of July 4, 1945. Document XX, in R. Jackson, Report of Robert H. Jackson, United States Representative to the International Conference on Military Trials, London 1945 (Washington, D.C; Dept. of State, Division of Publications, Office of Public Affairs, 1949), at 129 (italics added by Yanev)]

As opposed to the political context, where the term is used predominantly and perhaps exclusively as pejoratives by opponents, in the legal context it is used by proponents or adjudicators in a non-negative manner.

Should we not acknowledge this different use of the term? Humanengr (talk) 03:39, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It might justify a section on niche use as a legal term to simply refer to conspiracies, but deducing that from those two references seems like original research. Occasional use differing from standard usage doesn't change the standard definition. You'd probably need sources establishing its legal use more generally. --tronvillain (talk) 12:42, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thx, will consider. Related and putting together what I take from your position with other ascriptions taken from the literature, is the following a fair characterization of 'conspiracy theory' as used in this article:
  1. (Almost) never established as fact.
  2. If established as fact, referred to as 'the x conspiracy', not as 'the x conspiracy theory".
  3. Involves large numbers of people in positions of authority (governmental, science, …).
  4. Labeled as 'conspiracy theory' by detractors, not by proponents.

Hey there, thanks for all your hard work on Airmail Pilot!  :) That one was actually on a list of articles as part of a project to get cover images on all video game articles, but you went above and beyond with that one. If you do not mind taking a look at a few more, Action & Bumping Games, Adventure in Time, Air Traffic Controller (1978 video game), Android Nim, Ants!!!, Apocalypse: The Game of Nuclear Devastation, Atlantic Balloon Crossing, and Attack Force (video game) still needed covers, or anything else you might be able to find to improve them! Thanks again for your good work. BOZ (talk) 15:11, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see if I can find anything. Ah, found it. They were separate releases as well as being collected together. -tronvillain (talk) 18:01, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, OK, that explains that then. :) BOZ (talk) 19:58, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you are interested, I also just started a stub on The Software Exchange. BOZ (talk) 21:02, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like there was an attempt to add a cover to Air Raid (1979 video game), but that turned out to be the image for the similarly-named Air Raid (video game). If you get a chance, could you take a look and see if there is a cover image for the older game with the same name? :) BOZ (talk) 16:23, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can find an image of the cassette, but nothing turns up for a box. I'll settle for the title screen. --tronvillain (talk) 21:54, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for everything! Since you were able to help with the other Creative Computing games well, do you see anything that can be used for Super Invasion — Spacewar? BOZ (talk) 12:36, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see what I can do, depending on how much time a recent deletion discussion takes up. Hey, are you posting over on Category talk:Video game articles requesting identifying art too? I didn't see your username over there. --tronvillain (talk) 13:05, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking a look at that - similar situation with Monster Mash & Battleship (although not sure if there were separate releases for those games), if you can find anything for that. BOZ (talk) 12:29, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that's a tough one. --tronvillain (talk) 21:51, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I can find mention of a Monster Mash on the Apple II {also here, here, here and here)and apparently another for the TRS-80 Color Computer (though it might be the same), but nothing for the TRS-80 1 & 2. --tronvillain (talk) 23:56, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Figure they may be the same game on different platforms? BOZ (talk) 04:49, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe, but it's difficult to be sure enough for an article. --tronvillain (talk) 13:32, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm thinking of merging to the list until more information can be found about it. BOZ (talk) 13:37, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Probably a good idea - you can still use the reference on the list. --tronvillain (talk) 13:59, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Three more PRODs (hastily following addition of multiple templates) from the "collections are not notable" IP user, this time the Action & Bumping Games that you worked on earlier, as well as Space and Sport Games, and also Space Games-3 which I actually have a second source for, that I plan to add as soon as I get the chance. If you don't see anything more for those, I will probably just handle with merges as well (in fact, it looks like the IP has already done the merge work with a few of them into Creative Computing, so it's not clear why they still want to delete). BOZ (talk) 06:16, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Space & Sports Games appears to have been released separately as Space Games-I and Sports Games-I, as seen here, with more detailed descriptions here. I'd probably redirect to the list of Creative Computing games and move the reference over there. The same is probably true of Action & Bumping Games. You'll notice there's also Strategy & Brain Games, collecting Brain Games-I and Strategy Games-I. I'd add the second source and possibly keep Space-Games 3. ---tronvillain (talk) 15:15, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You got it. It's been a rather busy week, but I can do that hopefully soon. BOZ (talk) 00:40, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to say, although I brought some articles to you above with problems, as I have been adding reviews to early-80s games and starting little stubs with those same reviews, I have also come across some stuff that I felt was really missing from WP. In particular, for one of my favorite VG publishers from the late 80s and early 90s, I was able to add some good stuff regarding earlier works from SSI. I started The Shattered Alliance, Torpedo Fire, and The Warp Factor for example, and an article for the RapidFire line, so anything you wanted to do on any of those would be much appreciated of course. :) I also note that Computer Conflict is currently unsourced, but most of the games on List of Strategic Simulations games from 1982 and earlier are looking OK. BOZ (talk) 02:56, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Neat. I'll try to take a look. I'm currently doing a little work on Adventure International related pages - it's ridiculous that some of the games don't even have pages. I'm currently just collecting references at the moment. --tronvillain (talk) 21:44, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am definitely in favor of filling in gaps wherever they are, especially on things that should have articles! I was in fact thinking of adding articles on the games that you mention, but I do not have the sources to do it right. Of course, as I continue adding reviews from Space Gamer, I might just find something for games #10-14.  :) BOZ (talk) 23:54, 3 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've accumulated some things. As it turns out, Sorceror of Claymorgue Castle won 1984 "Adventure Game of the Year" from the Golden Joystick Awards. --tronvillain (talk) 00:00, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think you mentioned Phoenix Software recently, and increasing coverage on their games. I did a Google search and found this: http://gue.cgwmuseum.org/galleries/index.php?pub=1&item=0&id=1&key=0 I also noticed that List of Apple II games includes most of the games listed on that page. BOZ (talk) 04:29, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I had stumbled across that too. Sherwood Forest and Masquerade will probably need an article at some point. --tronvillain (talk) 16:26, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I see that the French versions of Sorcerer of Claymorgue Castle, Secret Mission both cite a few English sources that you could probably put to work. :) BOZ (talk) 01:25, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And also Savage Island was just created! :) BOZ (talk) 13:54, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nice. I may not be able to get to them until after Christmas though. --tronvillain (talk) 14:03, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I tried making an article for Klondike Adventure[3], which is apparently a 1982 release by SoftSide's "Adventure of the Month Club", but the article was redirected to SoftSide before long. However, that article does not mention anything about an "Adventure of the Month Club" or the game Klondike Adventure (or, for that matter, Windsloe Mansion which I started at the same time under the same circumstances) so I am a bit mystified. Do you know of any sources that could be used to restore Klondike, and then improve Klondike and Windsloe, and if possible to get something on the Club in the SoftSide article? BOZ (talk) 16:37, 25 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just back today and haven't had a chance to catch up, but I'd suggest expanding the Software section of Softside with a "Softside Adventure Series/Adventure of the Month" subsection and a list of the games. We'll see if we can expand Klondike and the others after that. --tronvillain (talk) 22:12, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome back! :) OK, I will add a quick bit to it. BOZ (talk) 12:53, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see anything that might help on Crystal Caverns (video game)? BOZ (talk) 12:24, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do you see any useful sources that could be added to Space Battle or Time Trek? BOZ (talk) 04:44, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see what I can find. Interestingly, Space Battle appear to also be an Intellivision game that was apparently one of Mattel's top six sellers in 1981.[1][2][3] Also, this, which also has a bunch of history and looks at various systems. --tronvillain (talk) 19:27, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's amazing how many notable (but unremembered) topics still don't have articles. :) BOZ (talk) 23:36, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks!  :) Do you see anything useful for Pigskin, Star Cruiser, Space Games-3, or Tycoon? BOZ (talk) 23:12, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Still working on Space Battle actually, (catalogue, some other reviews) though I won't be able to finish that until next week. I'll see what I can find on those. --tronvillain (talk) 23:59, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, OK, no problem! If you get the chance, would you also be able to see if you have anything useful for Galactic Empires, The Mean Checkers Machine, and Winged Samurai? BOZ (talk) 23:03, 15 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I also have Lost Dutchman's Gold, if you get a chance to take a look. BOZ (talk) 23:38, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'll take a look. The problem with researching these things is that I keep stumbling across new things to distract me. The Book of Adventure Games is coming along nicely, eh? --tronvillain (talk) 23:56, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely - I don't want to pull any of your attention away from that! :) I will have to try to find some time at some point to start stubs for some of those redlinks. :) Not soon, but eventually. BOZ (talk) 04:09, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
These three might be longshots, but Space and Sport Games, Simutek Package One, and Star Trek III.4 could use more sources if you know of any. BOZ (talk) 23:59, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I just want to say thank you for all your help, and have a great weekend! If you see anything for Meta-Trek that is about the only other one I am looking for at this time. BOZ (talk) 19:30, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If you have a chance for a couple more, could you please take a look at Galactic Trader and Slag? BOZ (talk) 04:51, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man, although I have said it before plenty of times, first of all I want to say a huge thank you for everything you have done on the articles I started, and everything else you have done in general for old school video games.  :) Rather than keep bugging you about this game or that game, since you have really gotten involved with some and are making great progress on them, I am going to just leave you to work on what you want to your heart's content. I have compiled a list of what I have seen so far from Space Gamer's reviews into this user page: User:BOZ/SGVG. I created between half and 2/3 of those pages, and added notes about the review to the already-existing articles. You have been hard at work on the first two on that list for several days, so I am not about to stop you.  :) You can keep going down the list one at a time to work on them as much as you want, or you can skip around and pick up things you want to work on, and you can stop whenever you want and come back whenever you want. I will continue to update this user page whenever I have added new reviews, although I only have maybe a dozen issues or so to go through. You will continue to see my "thanks" whenever you add something to an article that I created.  :) BOZ (talk) 21:27, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In case you are interested in those, I started articles on video games based on Fighting Fantasy gamebooks: Seas of Blood, Rebel Planet, and Temple of Terror. BOZ (talk) 15:27, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! :) If you are interested, I am back at it with retro video games, at least in a small way. :) So far this month I started Planetoids (video game), Master Trader, Cosmic Trader, and Space Ace 21 and I found a review for Meteor Mission II[4] so hopefully more will turn up so the article can be restored at some point. :) BOZ (talk) 17:31, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I am back into retro video games in a much bigger way than before, now adding Computer Gaming World reviews to articles. :) Do you have anything that can improve The Battle of Shiloh (video game)? BOZ (talk) 16:09, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I spent a lot of time working on User:BOZ/Early computer game reviews so that should prove useful if you need more reviews for games. :) BOZ (talk) 22:11, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Francis Hews

[edit]

On 14 November 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Francis Hews, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in 1800, a reviewer of Francis Hews's writings was unsure whether he should be sent to "Bridewell for correction, or to Bedlam for a cure"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Francis Hews. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Francis Hews), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Theosophy (finally following up)

[edit]

Hello, Tronvillain! Apologies for my delay in getting back to you. I haven't had much time to get on here and edit recently. Regarding the article you mentioned, I suppose it doesn't hurt to keep it in its current state. Someone might be looking for it, given its historical interest. That said, these groups still exist and still seem to push pseudoscientific concepts now and then (although far less than they once did), so I understand your concern. This isn't a topic I specialize in, but it's something I should definitely pay closer attention to. :bloodofox: (talk) 21:28, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to Bob Readick article

[edit]

I noticed that you reverted the change of date formats in Bob Readick with the explanation "place of birth does not constitute 'strong national ties' - retain established date but format".

I must be missing something, because when I read the article the only "national ties" that I see are American. He was born in the United States. He acted on radio programs in the United States. He also acted in Broadway plays (although your reversion eliminated that addition, along with his role in This Is Nora Drake on radio. If he has "strong national ties" to a country that uses British date formats, shouldn't that connection appear in the article?

I also don't understand why it was necessary to remove the categories that I added and the two text additions that I mentioned above. Eddie Blick (talk) 17:19, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Eddie Blick. I don't recall removing any categories - I intended to just edit the dates and added the dmy template. Perhaps I wasn't editing the most recent version of the page (I was on my phone for a change). As for the dates, per MOS:DATEVAR, "The date format chosen by the first major contributor in the early stages of an article should continue to be used, unless there is reason to change it based on strong national ties to the topic or consensus on the article's talk page." And simply being an American does not constitute "strong national ties." --tronvillain (talk) 19:42, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you celebrate no holidays at this time of year, then hopefully you will be satisfied with an even more generic "Season's Greetings".  :) BOZ (talk) 21:52, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Yes, I'm well aware of that. They are, after all, prominently displayed at the top of the Ayurveda talk page. I just happen to think pseudoscience should clearly be identified as pseudoscience on Wikipedia. --tronvillain (talk) 07:52, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rejuvenate WikiProject Skepticism

[edit]

Hello - my name is Susan Gerbic (Sgerbic) and I'm writing to you because at some point you joined Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism. This might have been months ago - or even years ago. With the best of intentions the project was created years ago, and sadly like many WikiProjects has started to go dormant. A group of us are attempting to revitalize the Skepticism project, already we have begun to clean up the main page and I've just redone the participant page. No one is in charge of this project, it is member directed, which might have been the reason it almost went dormant. We are attempting to bring back conversations on the talk page and have two subprojects as well, in the hopes that it might spark involvement and a way of getting to know each other better. One was created several years ago but is very well organized and a lot of progress was made, Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skeptical organisations in Europe. The other I created a couple weeks ago, it is very simple and has a silly name Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skepticism Stub Sub-Project Project (SSSPP). This sub-project runs from March 1 to June 1, 2022. We are attempting to rewrite skepticism stubs and add them to this list. As you can see we have already made progress.

The reason I'm writing to you now is because we would love to have you come back to the project and become involved, either by working on one of the sub-projects, proposing your own (and managing it), or just hanging out on the talk page getting to know the other editors and maybe donate some of your wisdom to some of the conversations. As I said, no one is in charge, so if you have something in mind you would like to see done, please suggest it on the talk page and hopefully others will agree. Please add the project to your watchlist, update your personal user page showing you are a proud member of WikiProject Skepticism. And DIVE in, this is what the work list looks like [6] frightening at first glance, but we have already started chipping away at it.

The Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Participants page has gone though a giant change - you may want to update your information. And of course if this project no longer interests you, please remove your name from the participant list, we would hate to see you go, but completely understand.

Thank you for your time, I hope to edit with you in the future.Sgerbic (talk) 07:35, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
