WikiCup 2015 is now in the books! Congrats to our finalists and winners, and to everyone who took part in this year's competition.

Cwmhiraeth (submissions) came in second place; she earned by far the most bonus points (4082), for 4 featured articles, 15 good articles, and 147 DYKs, mostly about in her field of expertise, natural science. Cas Liber (submissions), a finalist every year since 2010, came in third, with 2379 points.
Our newcomer award, presented to the best-performing new competitor in the WikiCup, goes to Rationalobserver (submissions). Everyone should be very proud of the work they accomplished. We will announce our other award winners soon.

In the heart of the sea
You took this off the Moby dick Template. The problem is even though the film is not an adaptation of MD, it is still related to the subject as it is based on the incident that the book is based on. That makes it at least relevant to the template, though were exactly it should go is a bit uncertain. It is at least as relevant as those animated "adaptations" set in space for with Tom and Jerry.--Bellerophon5685 (talk) 16:40, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Kipling
Hi. The Kipling short story existed when I plugged it into the template. Must have disappeared in the time between your and mine edits. Fame is fleeting, ole Rudyard used to say (or not). Thanks for finding the quick deletion. Randy Kryn 20:34, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- It seems to be back on the template along with another short story. Randy Kryn 11:33, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Lists on templates add to the pages
Hi. You asked a question of why the topic is being discussed. Here is an example. A couple of editors convinced the head of the Zoo project to remove the Zoos template from all the zoo pages, pages which are listed on a "List of zoos" included in the template. The zoo template seems to be at the heart of the discussions taking place, and the issue has been taken out of the hands of the people commenting and the pages, in the words of an editor, have "been cleaned". You love templates, one of the few people that do, and I ask that you take another look at it knowing that the template has now been removed from over 1,000 very relevant articles. Thanks. Randy Kryn 18:27, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- Randy Kryn, what would you like me to reconsider.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 02:40, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- The Wikipedia talk:Categories, lists, and navigation templates#List members are valid exception "List members are valid exceptions" discussion. If this is not passed then I'd assume some editors will be doing mass deletions of thousands of template, which is what has already happened on the Zoo articles at the request of an editor who took biodirectional as not to mean items on lists which are included on the template. A good list will list items which could be on the subject template, but they are put into lists regarding the subject (such as entries on Cultural depictions of John F. Kennedy are items which the template {{John F. Kennedy}} fits well. Randy Kryn 12:33, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
