Color graphics for Infobox college football player
Michigan Wolverines |
---|
Tony, here's a sneak peel at how the revamped infobox is going: Template:Infobox college football player/testcases#Joe Cool (typical example). (Ignore the included parameters for the time being; we're going to have a mini-RfC on the talk page about which new parameters to include, and which old parameters to remove.) What do you think of the colors, graphics, and layout and design? In particular, how do you like the "college varsity stripe graphics?" Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 16:58, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Edy Ganem picture
Hi Tony,
I restored the newer Edy Ganem file to the article because I spent a lot of time dealing with the photographer, and I have every reason to believe him when he told me that he followed my instructions and sent in the declaration of consent to the OTRS team using the standard template. In fact, I customized the declaration of consent for him so that he would simply have to do a copy-paste job. He even asked me recently why he hasn't heard back from an OTRS volunteer. The problem is that there are too many declarations of consent and too few OTRS volunteers, so the current average waiting time for clearance is two months at this point, which seems a bit too long in my opinion to keep the new picture down. After all, had I not spotted it during a routine search on Commons, nothing would have happened.
Also, I shouldn't have nominated that file for deletion; instead, I should have added a missing permission template. Anyway, taking into account the regrettable delay for permissions to get obtained from the OTRS volunteers, which is no one's fault, please keep the file there. If the file does get deleted (which I heavily doubt will happen because the nomination for deletion process is clearly stuck due to the withdrawal of my nomination after explaining the situation), then you know that a bot will remove it automatically.
I hope you will agree with me. I definitely screw a lot of uploaders over there at Commons, with no regrets, but this case is different.
Thanks,

House of Cards (season 4)
Hi, I just wanted to ask if you'd consider creating the article for House of Cards (season 4) as soon as you have time to do so. I'd do it myself, but I figured since you did such a competent job with 3 that I'd inquire. Thanks for all that you do, LLArrow (talk) 18:03, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
- LLArrow, it is my understanding that an article is not suppose to be created until principal filming begins.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 20:57, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

Beaumont & Fletcher template
Hello, Mr. The Tiger. I just created a navbox template (still in my user space), but the subject is a little slippery (its more or less an author navbox... but with lots of collaborative overlap) so I wondered if you'd look it over and tell me what you think. The current location is: User:Phil wink/bf and the rationale for its content is in Beaumont and Fletcher folios (see especially the section Beaumont and Fletcher folios#Content, authorship, and canon). Do you think it's useful? Set up optimally? I'll mention that currently the plays are in approximate order of production (within each subcategory) but maybe that's confusing, especially since the dates aren't given in the template. I thought it best to put all author links at the top (in "current/former band member" format). Possibly that's cheeky, but it seemed cleaner than peppering them throughout. Thanks. Phil wink (talk) 22:32, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Walt KrAEmer, aka 173.8.64.201, this template is no different than a lot of those I have created in the sense that it is way outside of my expertise. I generally create templates such as these that I fell are useful and put them in the places where they seem to belong. Experts on the subject will tinker with them in time to improve their usefulness. I suggest that you just move the template to template space and link it to the various articles.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 20:29, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks! (refactored for clarity) Phil wink (talk) 21:27, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Then someone else wrote...
Please excuse my intrusion, Tony but ...
Hello
I see where you affected a few Wikipedia changes to our CD production of Wolf Tracks. I wrote the text.
I noted my name was misspelled in, I believe, the first paragraph. Since you are familiar with the Wikipedia construct and I am not--further than far from it--could I impose upon you to make the change for me? My last name was misspelled Kreamer. It should be:
KRAEMER
Your help would be greatly appreciated. And if you can't believe I am who I say I'm spelled, please google it. Or me.
Thank you (on behalf of all us computer illiterates who are so old we're going back through our dotage.)

Peer review of Utica, NY
Hello TonyTheTiger,
I know that you're experienced with Rust Belt cities and their articles. Since the failed GA review and accompanying peer review for Buffalo, New York, I think my editing skills have improved tenfold...or greater. I decided I would take the lessons learned from the issues with that article and translate them to Utica, New York.
Since my first edit on that article, the article has gone through WP:PP, edit wars, confusion and has had the addition of WP:WTW content all over the place, especially WP:ALLEGED content. It's been traced down to primarily one or two people (probably a sock of this guy) as I reported here, and is recorded in my list here. The talk page has also been subject to WP:FORUM and WP:SOAPBOX activity of everything but the kitchen sink, which is likely over now.
So the page and a few other pages are now under a long term WP:S-P and I've put in about 250 edits just for this month, with everything from the maps to the history of the city's arterial highway construction added to the article (and properly sourced).
So I've come here to ask, will you be able to peer review the article? Thanks,Buffaboy talk 23:42, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
- Buffaboy, I will be unable to review this due to time considerations.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 19:20, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Robsinden
Have you come across User:Robsinden before? The editor is doing something odd...orphaning movie articles from navboxes because of some misinterpreted Wiki-project advice saying "no acting roles in navboxes". Have no clue where they got this idea..they are pointing to Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers#Filmography navbox templates but this has nothing to do with what they are doing. What do you think is he best way forward? I left a message on their tlak page...but dont what to go around revert hundrs of edits? -- Moxy (talk) 18:41, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- Whilst I must admit Tony and I do have our disagreements when it comes to navboxes, I'm sure he'll agree that the consensus regarding actors and acting roles in navboxes is clear. --Rob Sinden (talk) 11:23, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
- There is no consensus/guide stating that no movies should be listed in any navboxes. In fact its why they are there to begin with...that is to help people navigate between related articles. I am not sure why you are trying to hide the work of other editors... but this is not the kind of edits we are looking for here. To think one type of article cant be listed like every other type of article is way off the norm in every manner. In fact cant believe this is even a conversation that is taking place.--Moxy (talk) 16:49, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
- Moxy, There is a strong consensus (that I support) that navboxes should not be used for actor filmographies. Every film has several actors and we don't want to clutter each film with a cornucopia of actor filmography navboxes. However, most movies only have a few creative influences (director/producer/writer/creator) and such navboxes do not present the same quandary. There is no consensus beyond actors on what types of navboxes should be deleted. Yes, Robsinden and I have spent a lot of time disagreeing on navboxes. He finds them much less encyclopedic than I do. I have created many and he has expended a great deal of energy attempting to eradicate WP of my navbox contributions. I don't understand his motivation. I do appreciate that someone is keeping me honest in my template creations and have no problem with someone who wants to improve WP by eliminating unnecessary navboxes. I just hope that this is his true motivation. In the back of my mind, I wonder if that is his motivation. However, given the vast amount of stuff I have done on WP, I am sure some people think I do this for a living (I am truly just an altruistic world citizen, however) and are trying to shut me down. I also think some people believe I submit the work of a group of people to produce content to make up for a resume gap. Again not true. I also think some people are just annoyed at all my superlative claims and want to humble me. Whatever his motivation may be, I will keep contributing, and I welcome the efforts of those who want to ensure that excess content does not survive.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 03:28, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
