Hi. I have left messages on the other main contributors to this article, asking for their opinion on this. As I said in the discussion, for all intents and purposes in this game it is Aeris. Its a mistranslation but in terms of this particular game, it is yet to be corrected. The MoS on consistency is a grey area on this. It, to me, is like something made by Victoria Beckham before she became Beckham (Adams), you don't retroactively credit as Beckham. If you would like to call in administrators you are more than welcome, I will accept whatever consensus/admins say. chocobogamer mine 00:03, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

There does need to be a final word on it.It would have helped if Square had just stuck with the mistranslation as they have with other titles and poor translations of sentences.. As far as I'm concerned, if the Characters article only refers to the main FF7 title, it should be more like with Bartz in FF5 as mentioned earlier (it says something like (Butz in the Japanese)) so maybe the Characters article should say Aeris (mistranslated - Aerith in all other titles) chocobogamer mine 00:13, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi Tintor, I have to agree with chocobogamer - long-term consensus (and guidelines) have been to leave it as Aeris for the FF7 game article (and ONLY for the FF7 game article). See Wikipedia:WikiProject Final Fantasy/character names#Aeris Gainsborough.2FAerith Gainsborough for details. umrguy42 16:06, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

I don't happen to have a link to the particular discussion, but I know looking through various talk archives (including the one for FF7 itself) the discussion has occurred several times. I believe the consensus has stemmed from arguments similar to what chocobogamer has mentioned - it SHOULD have been Aerith originally, but wasn't translated well. Thus, the main character's name, in her individual page, and in all the other media, where it was corrected, is Aerith. However, for the purposes of the GAME article, she's called Aeris, as that's what the original US PS release called her. (Not sure precisely what primary WP guidelines to rely on, but I'll see if I can take a look at that later.) In the meantime, there's this, not quite as on-target, but commenting on translation, and another re-hash of the first discussion - although I think the PC copy of the game I later acquired DID use "Aerith" in the FF7 talk archives. (I haven't checked the WP:FF talk for discussion, as I'm not sure where, if anywhere, it would be.) The last link points out that the changes to Aeris were made for internal consistency, as well as accuracy with the most widely released version(s) (PSX for US and most to all of Europe) of the game (the comment about quotes from the script). This was done in preparation for trying to get the article to Featured Article status. umrguy42 18:53, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
I think having the discussion on FF7 is ok, just a couple more quick points - from what I can see, the FF7 talk links I provided are the only discussion I've found on-wiki. The character names page I linked originally was devised by the former WikiProject Final Fantasy (now WP:SquareEnix), and the distinction was in place from the very beginning. As far as Good/Featured Article, etc., all I can tell you is that FF7 got to Featured Article consistently using Aeris. There's been the past discussion of being consistent throughout the encyclopedia, and that idea has in the past been rejected in favor of being consistent within the article, with relevant explanations of the difference in the FF7 article and in the main Aerith article (and pretty much limited to those two, to prevent tedious repetition of it in articles where it'd be a complete side-point). umrguy42 19:46, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I saw in your edit summary that only the manga was accepted as a source. I don't edit anime articles often, so I was wondering where the policy you were referencing was. Thanks! Doc Quintana (talk) 02:21, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Ok, so you're saying that there is no standardized policy then. I'm sorry, but in that case, I think Manga is equal to Anime sources in terms of reference material. Doc Quintana (talk) 14:43, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, the MOS is what I was wondering about. Doc Quintana (talk) 16:29, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Re: Ply

If you want Viz's rundown:

  • Hollow, Hollows
  • Arrancar, Arrancars
  • Visored, Visoreds
  • homunculus, homunculi
  • Philosopher's Stone

I tend to ignore Viz when it comes to grammar like this and stick with whatever seems best. I personally would not capitalize the Bleach terms and I would not use "arrancars" (or perhaps "visoreds"). As for what to do with "fraccion", "fracciones" is the proper Spanish, so go with that. ~SnapperTo 03:25, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, they use "Espadas". ~SnapperTo 17:32, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Hunter X Hunter is dramatic and is violent!

Tintor2 i am the one who putted the Drama and Violence genres on the article! Believe me this manga is probably the most violent Shounen manga ever created... well Fullmetal Alchemist is violent too but these are both very similar and very dramatic/sad! Check it out! :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brollyhero99 (talkcontribs) 19:09, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Section title

I see you changed the "Storyline" title to "In videogames", probably to match the "Appearances in other media" title. My problem with your change is that what's described in that section is the character's canon storyline which should be followed by whatever other media he appears in, thus making it not only about videogames. --uKER (talk) 18:12, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Re: Sub-Zero(s)'(s) origins

To begin, I do not have any information to corroborate that Sub-Zero's mother was American and that any info. in the first line is canonical. As for Sub-Zero's mother and father to have had a daughter, it would have to have included Frost, which means this information would have been released after MKDA was released. And no record of information from the MK1, 2, UMK3, nor MKT booklets to the bios of Sub-Zero from MK1 to now, mention that he has ever lived in the United States or that his father was a secret operative in the US. (And I don't think the US is even mentioned in name in any of the Mortal Kombat games.) Simply put, I think that first paragraph except for: "The name "Sub-Zero" has been given to two different characters in the Mortal Kombat universe. Sharing a similar appearance and set of abilities, the two incarnations of Sub-Zero are brothers, with the younger one coming into the storyline after the older one gets killed." is entirely WP:Fancruft.

However, I will keep an open-mind and an open schedule to try and find information that indeed does corroborate the point that they lived in the US. It could be in the video bio. from Deception or some thing like the MK3 Official Kollector's Book or the Mortal Kombat Magazine mentioned in MK secrets: [[1]], one of the official comic books, or a bio. from MKM:SZ.

As for the portion that Shujinko teamed up with Sub-Zero, I don't think the other was aware of the other's plans against Onaga because the only time Shujinko met Sub-Zero was when Sub-Zero taught Shujinko his fighting style. They were just coincidentially fighting for the same cause which was to defeat the Dragon King.

I hope this helps. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 00:08, 17 Nove-mber 2009 (UTC)

Through a bit of searching, I have found this:

http://web.archive.org/web/19981201035009/http://mythologies.dragondata.com/MKM.html

If you click under Story, and then under, Sub-Zero and then click the words, "Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei" it does explain that Sub-Zero was born in America. As well as the fact that his mother tried to keep it from him, etc.Subzerosmokerain (talk) 22:17, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Sub-Zero has a dead link of a magazine cover that links simply to a hot-linked picture. However, if you access the site directly you can discover the picture. I simply want to know which fair-use rationale to use since the magazine cover is public domain. Subzerosmokerain (talk) 22:43, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Piccolo Jr.

Why did you take that out? I know that page was an archive, but I'm trying to prove to you about Namekians and Piccolo Jr. Piccolo Jr. is not his full name. He doesn't have a last name. He's just Piccolo Jr. the fifth and final nephew of Kami, the fifth and final son of King Piccolo, and the fourth and final brother of Cymbal, Drum, Piano, and Tambourine. He's not King Piccolo reincarnated, because first, he can't have his own child be his reincarnation. That's stupid. Cymbal, Drum, Piano, and Tambourine would then call him dad and father, which he's not. And second, reincarnations always have their past self's same facial structure, stature, and voice. Piccolo Jr. doesn't. Kami and his evil twin brother King Piccolo were voiced by Takeshi Aono in the Japanese Dub, while Toshio Furukawa voices Piccolo Jr. in the Japanese Dub. And it's the Namekian as one of Piccolo Jr.'s nicknames. You can only say Namek for the name of the planets Namek and New Namek. And you can only say Namekian for Powered-Up Namekian that Lord Slug and Piccolo Jr. are, because they're very strong, the name of the form that looks like a Super Saiyan, but with purple aura and purple eyes, as in purple pupils known as Super Namekian that I made up in my "Dragon Ball" series reboot of Piccolo Jr. being the main hero, who has Goku's goofy, happy pure-hearted personality in my story and drawings of Piccolo Jr. as a Super Namekian, the name of the language known as Namekian language, the name of the people of the planet known as Namekians, the nickname "The Namekian" Piccolo Jr. calls himself to hide his true identity after fusing with his uncle Kami, and the Potara item from the "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi" series known as Namekian Power. Eh, Eh. Weighted Namekian shoes he wears. Not brown light-weight footwear or shoes. Weighted Namekian shoes. They're weighted. Weighted Namekian shoes that he never wants to take off. He’s keeping it a secret that they’re not weighted and never wants to take them off during a fight and have his bare feet shown, because it would embarrass him if he took them off. So please, change his biography back to way it was I had written it. --71.239.23.70 (talk) 18:44, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Re: Tifa

Figured it can't hurt, since the information's there. Just a matter of compiling it all like was done with Barret. The promotional/merchandise stuff will probably be where I'll get bogged down though.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:02, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Oh yeah, don't be too surprised about the alignment crap on Sub-Zero's page. Even though the tag doesn't do anything people keep editing it, and it goes back and forth every few months on Reptile's page for really no reason.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:05, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Say, what's left to do on Liu Kang? I noticed the article looks pretty much done from this standpoint for GAN.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 13:09, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay, been busy. I haven't yet found much, but I can dig around online some more, see what turns up in older sources.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:13, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

In-universe/Fancruft from Mortal Kombat series

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortal_Kombat#Storyline The first two paragraphs appear okay, but the main problem is the third and fourth.

Here's my rendition of third paragraph:

In Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, the sorcerers Quan Chi and Shang Tsung join forces to conquer the realms and subsequently become the antagonists of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. By Mortal Kombat: Deception, after several fights, the sorcerers emerge victorious having killed most of Earthrealms' warriors. Onaga, who had been freed by Reptile at the end of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, had deceived Shujinko, the protagonist of Mortal Kombat: Deception, into searching for six pieces of Kamidogu, the source of Onaga's power. Onaga then confronted the alliance Raiden, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi and thusly obtained Quan Chi's amulet, the final piece of his power, becoming the antagonist of Mortal Kombat Deception. Only a few warriors remained to combat against the Dragon King and his forces. Shujinko eventually triumphed over the Dragon King and removed his threat to the Mortal Kombat universe.

The bold is what I rewrote. I'd like your feedback as you tend to solve issues like this. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 22:59, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Re: Gantz volume 26

I found a scan of the table of contents here: [2] And it seems to cover chapters 281-291, though that's the same amount that's listed in the article now. Are you sure you didn't mean volume 27? If you did, I can't find a scan for that. Geg (talk) 16:53, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

The best I could find was that Shueisha's page lists it as 238 pages, while previous volumes had 210 or so. [3] Not sure how much that helps because based on what I can see from the number of pages and chapters for some of the other volumes, every chapter doesn't have the same amount of pages. Bleach

Hi. I'd really like to know why you keep changing the correct English names of the Espada to their incorrect Romaji names. Please reply. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.35.83 (talk) 19:38, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

I don't blame you for this. It is pretty confusing. Now, when I meant English, I mean the official spellings. The correct commonly misspelled names are:

Baraggan Luisenbarn. Tia Harribel. Nelliel Tu Oderschvank. Nnoitra Jiruga. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. Szayel Aporro Granz. Rudobōn. Sonído (An attack). Shawlong Kūfang. Di Roy Linker. Yylfordt Granz. Nakeem Greendina. Edrad Liones. Dordonii Alessandro Del Socacchio.

Also, "Arrancar" and "Hollow" should be capitilized

Please reply if you have any questions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.35.83 (talk) 20:57, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

The ones listed are the official spellings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.35.83 (talk) 21:12, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

They are Kubo's spelling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.35.83 (talk) 21:33, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

However, the Bleach Wiki uses their correct names, and that's where I get them from. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.35.83 (talk) 00:52, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

I do realize that it is not Wikipedia, but it is more accurate than Wikipedia because it is based entirely on Bleach. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.35.83 (talk) 20:01, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes. I know. However, Viz is usually unaccurate. They sometimes Romanize wrong. The characters that I have listed are their correct Kubo spelling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.35.83 (talk) 20:26, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Viz, as I mentioned, romanizes incorrrectly. As I have mentioned before, the names you have listed are the incorrect variants. The Bleach Wiki and Wikipedia are both websites where information can be added and edited. Both websites strive to be as correct as they can. Previously mentioned, the Bleach Wiki has the correct Kubo names, unlike Wikipedia. Bear in mind that names like Grimmjow Jeagerjaques or Szayelaporro Grantz are incorrectly romanized names. If you can, I'd advise you to visit the Bleach Wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.69.35.83 (talk) 22:17, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Evamonkey doesn't 'link' to RSs, it hosts RSs. Exactly like AMWESS (for the third time!). You don't object to its usage everywhere else, why are you objecting to it in the External links section?

If you really want, I can make an ass of myself by going through each and every RS hosted on Evamonkey and use it in the article, however tangential or already-referenced an example may be. --Gwern (contribs) 02:00 19 December 2009 (GMT)

Re: Sephiroth (Final Fantasy)

I see. Honestly, he's either majorly misinterpreting the Wikipuffery guideline or using it as an excuse to cut down on the article. All other GA FFVII articles have in-depth plots, as well as FA articles (such as Master Chief). In any case, the Sephiroth article has enough out of universe information for notability, and I agree that ridding of plot details makes an already confusing premise (to those who haven't really looked into it, at least) even more confusing. All that is left of the appearance section could basically be smacked into the lede because it's such a general overview. If he fights it adamantly, make a section on the talk page and alert the Square Enix Wikiproject. Good luck, WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 20:48, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Bleach season 11

Bleach season 11 looks too short. Since youve edited the bleach episode lists I want to know why the season is so short? It looks like a huge mistake. NarSakSasLee (talk) 23:16, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Hello, sorry for replying so late but I have read the discussion you gave and it makes sense. On another note is it possible for lists, like those episode lists, to state which episodes are filler? I was surprised to learn that there was no mention of what episodes are filler and which are hard line manga based. I think if this was mentioned in articles it would be a lot more informative. NarSakSasLee (talk) 23:53, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Um. I dont understand what youve said. If manga readers can tell which ones are filler just from the lead what about the people who just watch the anime? I myself watch the anime more so than read the manga and I want to know which ones are filler. I like to skip the filler usually because the storyline is boring or pointless. Is there any way we could label specific episodes as filler? I think this would be a better use of wikipedia and the list system. NarSakSasLee (talk) 18:26, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Ah yes I forgot about that. Sorry, that was my bad. I know youve mentioned it earlier but I guess I forgot about it. Anyway does it need to have a source? Why cant we just put it in? NarSakSasLee (talk) 18:31, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

It's Sephiroth again

Hi, Tintor2. First and foremost: Happy new year! Within 24 hours, it will be 2010!

So, we talked about Sephiroth article and I, having assumed good faith, agreed to refrain from disputing your edits provided that you work on your wording. But seems to me that it has fallen on deaf ears!

Let us forget fancruft and puffery for now: Do you really think the Appearance section would make this article GA when it has spelling errors, grammar errors and diction errors? Mind you, it's Professor not Proffesor. And it's an experiment not a experiment. You assert that Proffesor Gast has created Sephiroth but your footnote mentions Hojo instead!

You have also written: "In order to do it, Sephiroth summons Meteor which would harm Gaia, and allow him to get close to Lifestream." Hey! What is this Gaia anyway? Or as the sentence suggests, I should ask: Who is Gaia? The game didn't have a Gaia anyway. (Oh, well, there was a Gaea's Cliff but Meteor was going towards Midgar not Gaea's Cliff.)

I'm going to assume that it was just a lapse of memory on your part that you didn't fixed the wording of that section. So, now that you are informed, would you please kindly resolve the mentioned issues and any similar issue not mentioned?

Fleet Command (talk) 18:57, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

So you say that grammar mistakes are fancruft? If the problem is grammar, and you want to copyedit it, you are welcome to do it. If you find some parts can be reworded, you are welcome to do it, but that does not mean trimming the section to three sentences. I did not finish referencing the article yet, so if want to source it is okay.Tintor2 (talk) 19:02, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
You said:

So you say that grammar mistakes are fancruft?

No. I say grammar mistakes are grammar mistakes and fancrufts are fancrufts. Both are bad.

If the problem is grammar, and you want to copyedit it, you are welcome to do it. If you find some parts can be reworded, you are welcome to do it, but that does not mean trimming the section to three sentences.

For grammar? No, that doesn't mean. But for fancruft and unsourced statements, yes, it does mean. Unsourced statements are challenged or deleted.

I did not finish referencing the article yet, so if want to source it is okay.

I source it? There is no source for that Gaia thing. When I edit it, I'll delete it. So, I think you find it convenient to source it yourself.
Fleet Command (talk) 19:23, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
By the way, when did I say that I was going to nominate it to GA or FA?Tintor2 (talk) 19:06, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
When did I say that you say such a thing? Fleet Command (talk) 19:23, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
I did change the thing of the Gaia. I still did not finish referencing, so please wait. Besides, when you cut the article you already left it unreferenced so it could have been blanked. If you want to fix grammar mistakes you are welcome.Tintor2 (talk) 22:34, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Mania Entertainment

Hallo, who are Mania Entertainment - are they notable/reliable, either for Wikipedia or for video games specifically? I took this out when I wrote the in-depth reception owing to a lack of Wikipedia article on them, and a Wiki search showing it had been used as a resource for some manga articles, thinking it not particularly notable (Geregere has insisted that sites such as RPGFan and RPG Site are not notable, so I would question why Mania has any particular notability - we ought to be consistent in our approach here). Thanks! SynergyBlades (talk) 00:20, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Another editor removed it the second time so I'm not sure where consensus lies on the source - I suspect the issue comes from it being more slanted to anime/manga than the plethora of sources that could be used that are centered around video games specifically. RE:Roxas

I just noticed it before you posted. Looks pretty good. The development section is a little sparse, and I'd remove ref 4 from KH Ultimania. Other than that, it might be able to be able to make GA with more sourcing and polish. I'm still working on Lara Croft, so I'm not sure how much free time I'll have. I'll see about giving it a copy edit when you finish the article.

As far as pictures, I suggest something that shows him holding his keyblade (maybe both). The outfit should be the most prevalent one he's worn, which I think might be his Org XIII cloak. Just a thought. (Guyinblack25 talk 21:01, 10 March 2010 (UTC))

Looks pretty good. I'll try to give it a full sweep some time soon. I haven't played 358/2 either and am not sure what interviews have taken place. I've only picked up on a little new information here and there. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:10, 17 March 2010 (UTC))
I consider it to be. Check out Wikipedia talk:VG/S#Andriasang. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:20, 17 March 2010 (UTC))
Sorry for the delay. I gave the article a copy edit today. The only prose issue that stood out to me was some of the text might be confusing to a layman. Some context about Kingdom Hearts' fiction might be helpful, but probably not a necessity for GAN. It should do just fine, and I'll help out with prose issues at the nomination if needed. (Guyinblack25 talk 20:33, 12 April 2010 (UTC))

Short answer is the edit is not bad.
I can't find the page, but I believe there's a Wikipedia essay about the merits of using redirects over exact links to article sections. Basically it boils down to personal preference. Both methods have pros and cons though. I think you could redirect it with little trouble if you wanted to. (Guyinblack25 talk 04:12, 1 May 2010 (UTC))

This is a brief review of MKII and also tells how to fight the secret characters, i'm not too sure since it is technically "cheats". Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 14:35, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Re: Mega Man Official Complete Works

Good work so far on the Mega Man Legends articles. Unfortunately, I don't actually own the Mega Man Official Complete Works book. The information I've been gathering so far has been from Google image searches like this one. I believe the book does contain some information on the Legends games as well, and if I decide to purchase the book in the near future, I will definetely share the knowledge contained within. Let me know if you need anything else. ~ Hibana (talk) 16:47, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you very much. It's a small but sure step to getting these articles to a level they deserve. Just to let you know, I will be ordering the Official Complete Works book this week. If you prefer, I can simply give you the development notes on the Legends games or write them in myself. Those three game articles can easily reach Good status. Mortal Kombat

  • I'm sorry to bother you but I see that you reverted an edit by Zepp900 on Johnny Cage's page about his Deadly Alliance ending and I agree with that revert.

As I said on the Edit summary, there's nothing that proves that’s actually her... if there is then where’s the source for that? Like the "images" of the other characters like Scorpion on the movie poster, isn't that most likely just a look-a-like? I mean how and why would her character (who already has a job in the military) end up being an actress in a film? That doesn’t make any sense. Also, if his film states that he won the MK tournament single handily, then what we see is made-up and none of the actually characters are around him. That person says check Youtube but that's not a reliable source for wikipedia. Again I'm sorry to bother you, but I thought you should know. 75.63.204.159 (talk) 12:00, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Reborn! Characters

Hi, I wanted to discuss the color change that I did to the Reborn! characters. You see, I was reading another anime/manga article where the template includes color difference. So then I went to Reborn, since it was next on my agenda. I noticed the characters were all gray. I changed colors because I thought it would be niceif they matched their owners flame colors. By the way, you missed Ryohei. SandSan (talk) 21:54, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Great job on MK:D

I went there to check the article and expected to find tons of overly detailed fancrufts listing everyone's story and moves, definitely way more than encyclopedic value. Some people just couldn't resist adding so many info about the games they like. But now that I've been there, I couldn't be more wrong. You seem to have a great part in it. Great job. The article is satisfactorily informative and very compact. Anthonydraco (talk) 02:25, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

June 2010

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at Edward Elric. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:31, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Tintor2 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

The edit warring rules state "An editor must not perform more than three reverts (as defined below) on a single page within a 24-hour period". While I take responsability for reverting edits without discussing with the user or anons making them I only reverted edits that added unsourced information which contitutes WP:Original Research. Even though the user adding such information has been blocked, he keeps adding such info using anon accounts and is not participating in the discussion from Talk:Edward Elric which I'm still unable to participate in. I promise I will not make any more reverts in articles unless they constitute vandalism though it is sometimes hard to talk to a user who keeps using multiple anon accounts.Tintor2 (talk) 23:20, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Per HJ Mitchell below, you were edit warring and this does not convince me that you won't continue to do so once unblocked.  Sandstein  07:07, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The article still has the anon edits and some strange explanation alongside it. As I previously stated, I did not make over three reverts of the user's edits and as the rules state it is a "24-hour period" while this block is of 48 hours.Tintor2 (talk) 23:44, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
Mitchell - You are correct that failure to discuss and reverting three or more times is a violation of 3RR which is blockable. However blocks are preventative, and i believe that the promise in the unblock request will guarantee that no further damage will be done. Though not directly related, i would also point out that there is a rather large number of IP editors on that article who never edited before, and all of them make the same edit which makes assuming good faith difficult. Equally Tintor2 seems to be a productive editor with an - till now - clean block log. Therefor i would be in favor of an unblock, on the condition that no more reverts occur and that this issue is discussed on the talk page. I believe that allowing Tintor's participation in the talk page discussion is more productive then keeping him blocked.
Tintor2 - As i said before the condition for my support is that no more reverts take place until this issue is resolved on the talk page. This block may seem harsh, but the 3RR rule is intended to prevent a never-ending cycle of reverts where editors achieve little more then creating a feud (Which is a bad omen for any sensible discussion). I would also point out that consensus is worth more then being the "top version" since consensus gives you a clear reason to revert. If the questionable content is re-added just ignore it until the discussion is finalized; However, if consensus rules that there was a marriage you should also follow this. On another note: The 3RR violation details that no more then 3 reverts may be done within 24 hours (Though this is not a license to do this three times without risking a block.) The actual block imposed may be of any reasonable duration. Some people may be blocked for a month for repeated offenses. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 00:09, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
@Tintor2, you made 4 reverts on the same article within a period of 24 hours:
  • 23:57:16 11 June 2010 UTC- Undid revision 367500085 by 71.21.233.2 (talk)
  • 18:58:28 12 June 2010 UTC- declaring love and proposing marriage are two different things [reverting Redmustang03, who then makes 2 further edits]
  • 19:05:34 12 June 2010 UTC- very civil... the fact they have children does not confirm they are married, just see Hohenheim's case who never married Trisha while we have seen characters wearing rings without being married
  • 19:12:42 12 June 2010 UTC- it's still wp:original research; there was no marriage proposal in the chapter
I'm certain if I hadn't blocked you both at that point, that unproductive and extremely disruptive cycle. Until you accept that you were in the wrong, I'm not comfortable unblocking you. As for the length of the block, that's at the discretion of the blocking administrator. Personally, I've blocked people for significantly longer than 48 hours, but I usually unblock once they realise where they went wrong. Such will be the case here- if you can assure me that you will not continue to edit war (and accept that you were edit warring an did violate the 3RR) I'll unblock you. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:02, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
I previously stated I wouldn't edit war no more, and I would focus in the discussion from the article. I admit I was edit warring but I thought that violating the rules was reverting over three times to the same user and edits containing insults to a specific user like "18:01, 12 June 2010 Redmustang03 (talk | contribs) (26,071 bytes) (Your an idiot so who" were already part of vandalism.Tintor2 (talk) 14:06, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
It looks like I'll just have to wait. I already apologized for my edits and I promised that I would participate in discussion.Tintor2 (talk) 16:11, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Despite discussions from Talk:Edward Elric, the user keeps adding unsourced information to the other articles Alphonse Elric and Winry Rockbell. Note that he is not participating within it.Tintor2 (talk) 16:01, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:10, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Yorinuki Gintama

Stop removing content concerning this from Gin Tama. There is a reference to show it exists, and there is also no place to put the theme song information other than in that section. There is no page for Yorinuki Gin Tama anymore so leave it be.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 06:53, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

The reason why I first removed it was because there was no source to back up such info. When I removed the info about the songs, I didn't know the article was redirected. However, I think such specific info about the rerun's new song could be better in the main list of episodes as there is some info about how many songs were used in the anime. Cast and Characters of Mortal Kombat Films/TV Series

I just saw that you remove the "cast and characters" table in the Mortal Kombat's article. So, do you think that the table should be in the article about MK characters???

--Seiken Flame (talk) 18:28, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Re: Cast and Characters of Mortal Kombat Films/TV Series

Some tables like that are used in several films series's articles for the same reason each times. We don't need much information between actors and their characters. Like IMDB, in any pages, there is an actor and his character, that's it, that's all. It's fun for a series of films to present which actor appeared in which films, and which actor replacing him for the next film...

When you said that "actors should be explained in their respective characters articles/section", that mean that the table I've done must be in the proper article (in the article about MK Characters). Right? (except if you said "A table takes up too much weight and should not be used")

And also, I don't understand when you said: "should be explained in prose". Can you explain it? Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seiken Flame (talkcontribs) 20:16, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

It's not easy for me to understand when English is not my first language. I try to understand what you say, but I still have some difficulties. Anyway, to be simple, what should I do for the table? Return it to another article/section, or do nothing?

--Seiken Flame (talk) 20:33, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, you're probably right. Personally, I think a table is better in any article to see which actor appeared in which film with which character. But it's just my opinion. O.k, I will not return the table in the article. By the way, which language de you speak if your English isn't very good?

Romanization for words of English origin

On the MOS:JP talk page, a discussion has been started about including or not including romanizations for words of English origin, such as Fainaru Fantajī in Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) (for the sake of simplicity, I called this case "words of English origin", more information on semantics here).

Over the course of a month, it has become apparent that both the parties proposing to include or not include those romanizations cannot be convinced by the arguments or guidelines brought up by the other side. Therefore, a compromise is trying to be found that will satisfy both parties. One suggestion on a compromise has been given already, but it has not found unanimous agreement, so additional compromises are encouraged to be suggested.

One universally accepted point was to bring more users from the affected projects in to help achieve consensus, and you were one of those selected in the process.

What this invitation is:

  • You should give feedback on the first suggested compromise and are highly encouraged to provide other solutions.

What this invitation is not:

  • This is not a vote on including or excluding such romanizations.
  • This is not a vote on compromises either.

It would be highly appreciated if you came over to the MOS:JP talk page and helped find a solution. Thank you in advance. Prime Blue (talk) 11:29, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Advent Children info

Just thought you might be interested in this AnimeFringe article; it contains some reception for Advent Children (among other titles), and I thought it might be useful. It also has information on the cell phone released in conjunction with Advent Children near the bottom of the page. As in, the phone identical to Cloud's in the film. AnimeFringe article. Also note that AnimeFringe is listed as a reliable source of the Anime/Manga Wikiproject sources page :) WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 02:46, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Additionally, that link has information on Advent Pieces: Limited, which can also be incorporated. This 1Up article might also be helpful in that regard: Advent Pieces. The following is from page 101 of the Reunion Files:
"The word "Advent" refers to the recognition and commemoration of something. And, just as in the the word "masterpiece," "piece" has a connotation of being something special, or something with class. So by naming it "Advent Pieces," I wanted it to carry a special meaning." (Nomura)
The page also lists what comes in the set, though that should be listed in the 1Up article. Nevertheless, I can provide the list if needed. WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 14:26, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

It appears as though the information for the reference missing the pages numbers is scattered throughout the book. I'll definitely fix the refs, though it might take a little bit to locate each page. I also might have to split off a few. WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 16:20, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

I've checked, but unfortunately can't find anything about the song, though there is some sparse information on the actual filming for the credits in Hawaii. I've fixed the refs without page numbers and will get to the rest by the end of the day. WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 18:11, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Aizen Sousuke

You do a lot of work on the anime articles, right? Unfortunately, Aizen's article has gotten a little out of hand with the plot summary. While I think that the recent chapters have a lot of important info, the blow-by-blow chapter-by-chapter type thing is heavily discouraged on Wikipedia. I'm not sure how to go about editing the mess to conform to Wikipedia guidelines, so could you please take a look at it? 207.216.208.68 (talk) 22:23, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

That shouldn't take much longer. All we need to probably mention is a brief summary of Gin's attempted betrayal and of Aizen's fight with Ichigo, mentioning he transforms multiple times, but leaving out the unnecessary commentary for sure. Requested copy-edit

The best thing would be for you to add the page you want edited to the Guild of Copy Editors' [list]; that way, you'll get attention from one of many editors like myself that like that sort of work. There is a bit of a backlog, but special requests generally get priority attention... and there's a backlog drive going on now, so big long list articles with lots of words in them tend to get snapped up quick! // ⌘macwhiz (talk) 21:33, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Everything needs to be updated on the Naruto Uzumaki article

As it stands, it is very confusing for new readers. If someone read it in the way you are presenting, and had no prior knowledge of Naruto-having not read Naruto or watched the anime, they'd think Jiraiya died before Naruto completed the Rasenshuriken. They'd think Naruto defeated Pain before defeating Kakuzu. Something that is far less accurate and is below the standards on Wikipedia. So please, lets just edit it to keep things right. --SuperSaiyaMan (talk) 19:29, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Naruto's new powers in his new form are outlined in chapter 505 where he senses Kisame's evil emotions, makes Yamato's wood totems grow into full trees, and finally his blitz of Kisame made it seem like he has a Space-Time Ninjutsu now, and a single punch was able to injure Kisame who was hiding in Samehada.--SuperSaiyaMan (talk) 18:59, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Tifa Lockhart. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. FYI, be careful... Reason

the reason why it sounded like you were putting words in someone's mouth was because your opinion doesn't match up with what your agreeing to.Bread Ninja (talk) 22:46, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

then what was the point?Bread Ninja (talk) 22:52, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

So you didn't actualy agree? listen, it's good to agree and disagree and post your opinion, but when we have consesnus, theres no need for excess opinion. you got what you and the others wanted, and i could care less on what format it is, but again, we made the point and no need for more words.Bread Ninja (talk) 22:57, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

but his comment wasn't based on which one is better, it's just which one he preferred.Bread Ninja (talk) 23:01, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
