Escuadrones volantes

[edit]

You made many un-sourced claims in Escuadrones volantes, which is irresponsible. Please see WP:BLPCRIME and WP:42. The section has been commented out until you can complete what you started. Chris Troutman (talk) 13:31, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message. I'm a translator with OKA. I didn't make any claims myself, but rather I merely translated pre-existent content from the Spanish original article. TheTastyWord (talk) 21:18, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A belated welcome!

[edit]
The welcome may be belated, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, TheTastyWord! I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions, including your edits to Crime of Fuencarral street. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may still benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Need some ideas of what kind of things need doing? Try the Task Center.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Again, welcome! Cameron Dewe (talk) 21:42, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, @Cameron Dewe! I apologize for the belated thanks, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. I appreciate the cookies. Cookies are always welcome, especially chocolate chip (though I'm partial to oatmeal raisin, too). :)
Thanks for the links, as well. And I enjoyed working on the Crime of Fuencarral street. That was a really fun translation, not because of the grim subject matter, of course, but because of the challenge, the research involved, the narrative style... especially as I'm a fan of detective stories.
See you around! TheTastyWord (talk) 18:14, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Translation assistance

[edit]

Hello, I'm KB from Binance. I came across your username on WP:TRLA. I'm looking for help creating a translation of the Richard Teng article into Spanish. I worked with editors at Articles for Creation to create the article, and now am trying to find editors to help me with translations. I have prepared a Spanish translation here and was wondering if you'd be willing to take a look and if everything is good, create the translated article on Spanish Wikipedia? I used nowiki throughout the translation since the Spanish templates do not render correctly here. Because I have a financial conflict, I don't directly create articles related to Binance.

Thanks so much. Let me know if you have any questions. KB at Binance (talk) 07:51, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Sure, let me look at it and I'll get back to you. I still have to go through other articles in my queue, though, so if you need it urgently, it might take me a while. TheTastyWord (talk) 16:27, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate it! No rush, and if there's anything else I can do to make the process easier for you just let me know. Thanks, KB at Binance (talk) 12:12, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your translations from Spanish

[edit]

Hi there, TheTastyWod, and thank you for all your translations from Spanish. I've been going through them, reviewing and assessing as necessary. As you can see, the results are pretty impressive, especially in relation to the quality of the Spanish originals. Keep up the good work. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 14:56, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, @Ipigott! That's so kind of you to say. I always take pride in my work and it's nice when other people notice :) TheTastyWord (talk) 15:14, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm really pleased to have a response from you, TheTastyWord. I've been assessing the work of several other OKA editors too but most of them seem unwilling to use their talk pages. Please drop me a line if you think I can help you with anything.--Ipigott (talk) 15:53, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good. I am not sure if OKA editors are aware of this, but you can submit hooks of newly-translated articles to WP:DYK to have them featured on the Main Page if you're interested.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|CFA}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Thank you! It's OK, it was indeed a bit flowery. I got carried away by the language used in the original Spanish and didn't think to edit it and make it more straightforward. So thanks for that! :) TheTastyWord (talk) 16:42, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As an additional note, I felt that the prose in the final translated version was a little flowery so I made some changes - if it's a significant departure from what you consider accurate to the original text just say so and I will revert my changes.
