Speedrun improvements

Hi there. Speedrun was recently delisted from GA. I want to improve the article, so I posted some requests for comments in the discussion. Since you were part of the discussion a few days ago, perhaps you'd like to comment? --msikma; user, talk 14:05, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

About listing a source

I edited the Covenant(Halo) page recently and you told me to list sources, but the only information I provided was a translation of a word from Tagalog to English. Can't really source a language... unless you were referring to my claim that Tagalog is the Philippine's national language, which is very generic information. Sorry, I'm just a new user, so if I'm missing something tell me.

Nutterbutterz95 (talk) 05:17, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

It's not really even a connection. It uses the exact same spelling as the Tagalog word. If it were similar to the word, like Unggu or Unoggoy I would understand the need for sourcing. This however is like going into a Japan, making a game, and naming one of the characters "Monkey". Is it not obvious that I labeled the character to imply that it is monkey like? Anyway, maybe I'll find a way to contact Wang, the creature head producer on the Halo project, and ask him. Expect me to do so within the next week or so, whenever convenient for me... Nutterbutterz95 (talk) 22:22, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

In that case, I will delete the information until I can viably source it. Nutterbutterz95 (talk) 23:12, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Numbers, Not Words

Sorry about that. It's just second nature for me to type out the full thing as I've heard that you should write the numbers when you get to three digits, four digits and (*sighs*) two digits and no-one seems to have any idea which is accurate, so I just type out the full thing outside maths. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 11:23, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Every now and then I'll make some ridiculous mistake, but that's only resulted in an edit war three times, so I must be doing good (he says nervously). --Thejadefalcon (talk) 12:11, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: copyedit

No problem, take your time :) If there was a penalty for procrastination, I'd be first of the firing line. Once you're finished I'll print it out and do a final runthrough. Barring that I think it's more or less ready for primetime (just need to pay more attention to gameplay and make sure it's proper). --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 18:47, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Little secret. I haven't played Halo Wars either. Or Halo 3, for that matter. Or Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, or Myst IV, or Myst V. Or Super Columbine Massacre. Doesn't stop me from writing about them, though :P I'm a FPS/RTS kinda guy, but paradoxically though I like RTS I suck at them and get dominated in WarCraft 3 (so I just play custom games and DotA instead :P). --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 20:20, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Righto. I suppose that the release section is a tad jargony. As for the unquoted passages, could you just mark the ones you found already? It's kinda stupid that I did that, but I guess I'll go double-check them all *sigh*. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 17:33, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

accessmonth/accessyear

Assuming everything goes well, those should probably be removed from anything else that is based on cite:core in favor of accessdate for the same reason.Jinnai 01:59, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I guess the alternative would be to just drop them if you can't tell. I believe they might have to be in the YYYY-MM-DD format to begin with, so those dates would probably fail anyway.Jinnai 15:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
That's good, but as {{citeweb}} is probably one of th most used templates, we should clear up a format that can be read easily (i know there have been issues in the past dealing with date formats in pages, but if its unclear what the date is, then that jepordizes the reliability of the source).Jinnai 16:34, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
I meant more for documentation. I checked that out right before and noticed it. I mean if its unclear if 04-05-2009 means April 5th, 2009 or May 4th, 2009 then that jeopardizes the reliability in some cases (sometimes it doesn't matter admittedly).Jinnai 16:59, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Yea, I think a discussion might be good. I think the discussion at MOSNUM was about the format in articles. I don't remember it ever being used for citations and the implication that if confusion could cause loss of credibility of a RS if the date was wrong due to fluctuating nature of the internet.Jinnai 21:50, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok, didn't know that. Does this mean I should edit my info and post it in the film section of Halo (series)? I still think it's relevent. TurboGUY (talk) 22:20, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for the long response... Just now saw your comment (must have missed it with lastrev when you posted). I've got remote access to Proquest and LexisNexis, so I'll see what I can dig up. Please update your status with WP:VG

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Machinima

I just happened upon the article of which you seem to have been primary contributor; it was linked from the Zarathustra Studios website. Congratulations: it is a superb article. Thought of nominating it at WP:FAC? Tony (talk) 13:48, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Condor Sea Scouts

Hello! Two years ago you created the redirect Condor Sea ScoutsThe Singapore Scout Association#Bukit Panjang District but that section is no longer present, and there is no mentioned of "Condor" in the article (although it does mention sea scouting in general), so I have retargeted it to the article head. Do you have a better target, or would you rather delete the redirect altogether via WP:CSD#G7 (author requests deletion)? -- ToET 12:02, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

VG Barnstar on User:Zimmer610

Hello TKD, did you put a VG Barnstar on User:Zimmer610 in May 2009? I am afraid that Zimmer610 whose user account is only a few days old has not understood the meaning/usage of Barnstars and is using them similar to user boxes or decoration items - and this message is an attempt to find clarity about that ... also, I wonder what do about it if I am correct about that. I have looked at your contributions for more info, and to me it appears as if you added that barnstar here, to User_talk:Tezero instead. Regards, BNutzer (talk) 22:38, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Michael Kuluva

Hi, I just recently researched Michael Kuluva who you deleted some time ago, I think who ever posted that page was not accurate with his information. I have credible sources that makes me want to create a wikipedia page for fashion designer Michael Kuluva. I would like to discuss this with you as I think there is a lot of incorrect information as well that I read on the deletion of the page. Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing from you! - David Knowles — Preceding unsigned comment added by PublicFigures (talkcontribs) 00:15, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. New copy for previously deleted article on Brett Joshpe.

Dear TDK:

Happy Saturday!

I submitted an article some time ago about Brett Joshpe, a New York-based attorney and author. I believe you are the editor who deleted it back then.

I would like to re-submit it. The pages asked me to contact you about this first, which is what I am doing. I am trying to follow proper procedures here.

At any rate, the copy is below. Please tell me what you think. There also is a photo of Joshpe saved on Wikicommomns.

Many thanks, and have a great weekend!

Best wishes,

Deroy Murdock

Brett Joshpe, Esq.

Brett Joshpe, Esq. is a Manhattan-based attorney, author, and entrepreneur.

In May 2008, Threshold, a Simon & Schuster imprint, published Joshpe’s first book, Why You’re Wrong About the Right, which he co-authored with conservative columnist and commentator S.E. Cupp. Their book addresses many of the negative stereotypes that surround Republicans and conservatives.

Joshpe subsequently has published numerous articles and op-eds for the New York Post, New York Daily News, Washington Times, Investors Business Daily, National Review Online, Politico, and Forbes Online, among other outlets. Joshpe’s writings focus on economic, legal, and Israel-related issues. He also has appeared on the Fox News Channel and MSNBC and on numerous national radio programs including those hosted by Steve Malzberg, Lars Larson, Michael Reagan, Jay Sekulow, and Andrew Wilkow.

Joshpe also drew national media attention in 2010 when, serving as Of Counsel for the American Center for Law & Justice, he filed the lawsuit on behalf of firefighter and 9/11 first responder Timothy Brown, to stop the Ground Zero Mosque. The case eventually was lost at the trial level and currently is being appealed.

Joshpe now owns a corporate, civil, and criminal litigation law firm, Joshpe Law Group LLP, in New York City that handles transactional and corporate work, commercial litigation, and criminal defense.

Born in 1980 in Stamford, New York, Joshpe received his BA from Cornell University in 2002 and his JD from Harvard Law School in 2005. While at Harvard, he founded Students for Protecting America, which generated national press attention as a campus organization whose members supported Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Notice of change

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Mistake?

Hello. I was admiring your amazing user page when I saw a possible consistency mistake. In your "Article size and mergism" section you first considered excessive in size 50 KB, and the later changed it to 30 KB. It looks like you edited it and just missed that. In any case the rest of your page was great. Feel free to delete this when you see it.
