Dealing with vandalism
Hello, thanks for your efforts to deal with vandalism. However, sometimes you're missing some, such as at Talk:Hello and Louise McKinney. When you encounter vandalism, it's better to revert it than to use the undo function to try to remove it. It's also a good idea to warn vandals. A gadget called Twinkle can help with these things. Graham87 05:22, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
Hey there, just wanted to let you know that the author is question is allowed to remove a PROD template from an article that they created. In fact they actually followed proper etiquette and explained why in the edit summary (which is exceedingly rare)! RA0808 talkcontribs 22:54, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Oh thanks. I see. Stikkyy (talk) 22:55, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- One more thing: since the warning that you issued wasn't warranted, you should probably strike it out with <strike>...</strike> and leave a note that it's redacted. However, if the editor does try to remove the AFD template then you should definitely reissue that same warning! Cheers, RA0808 talkcontribs 23:01, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
Want to help shape the future of the Wikipedia editing experience?
Hi Stikkyy,
The Design Research team at the Wikimedia Foundation is currently seeking relatively newcomer Wikipedians for user studies about their experience with current editing tools and to test out some prototype editing tools. If you’re interested in helping to shape the future of editing on Wikipedia, we would love to have you participate! The study session will take approximately 30 minutes, maximum of 45 minutes.
The study will take place in the next couple weeks, and will require participants to have access to a webcam and microphone (or a laptop with built in cam & mic), with a quiet place to go for a research session. To participate, please email dchen[at]wikimedia.org and include the following information:
- Username
- Email where we can reach you
- Your city or time zone
- Best time to talk to you
Please let me know if you have any questions! Look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Daisy Chen

Hi, Thanks for the copy pasted message. "it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary." The following accurate (as evidenced by multiple comments in the talk page) summary: "Deleting unusable, confused, example section" was included. Please revert your revert, thanks, it'll help other people not invest brain cycles into trying to figure this example out. 37.174.131.182 (talk) 22:39, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- Well, seems reasonable enough. Done. Stikkyy (talk) 22:43, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Article tips
Hi, and thanks for your recent contributions. I've noticed a few common mistakes in some of your articles, such as Hexamerocerata. First, the plural of genus is genera, not genuses, and family names aren't directly pluralized: e.g. Eurypauropodidae is a family, there is only one, and members of the family may be called "eurypauropodids", but not "Eurypauropodidaes". Lastly, for monotypic taxa like Hexamerocerata, it is conventional on Wikipedia to redirect such names to the lowest taxon. See WP: MONOTYPICFAUNA for more info. Again, thanks for helping build the encyclopedia! All the best, --Animalparty! (talk) 20:03, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Your edits to West Coast Customs
Hi! Thanks a lot for reverting vandalism done to West Coast Customs, but I want to caution you to please be mindful of bot edits masking vandalism in the future. You reverted [1]'s blanking back to [2], but that was a bot edit which failed to recognize the vandalism done in the previous edit, [3]. Because of that, the WCC employee who vandalized the page got his way and a critical claim was not in the article for four days. If I hadn't happened to look at the history of the article, it could have been longer. In any event, I would really like to thank you for your vandal fighting efforts - I don't have the patience to do that job here on Wiki, I prefer content writing. I worked very hard on the research for that article, and apparently WCC employees have taken note! Just not the way I'd have hoped, they've decided to try to vandalize Wikipedia to remove my well-researched critical media mentions Psiĥedelisto (talk) 15:41, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello Stikkyy. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 22:21, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- Well, I don't like that guideline. That guideline, WP:BITE, has come to be valued more than common sense. Occasionally new editors who generate crud need to be bitten. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:50, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
Microfusus acutispirata obesiformis
If it is a species, why does it have a trinomial name? Robert McClenon (talk) 00:57, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- Doh! I'm not exactly sure how I did that, but it's fixed now. Stikkyy (talk) 01:16, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

Why tag his article with multiple issues after you tagged it for speedy deletion? In case the administrator decided to decline the speedy? I have had a few A7s declined, but this one is obvious. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:48, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- I tagged it because I thought there were many, many more issues for which the article should be deleted besides A7. I figured that tagging it would be the easiest way to communicate that. Stikkyy (talk) 03:54, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
Rollbacker
I have granted the "rollbacker" permission to your account. After a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, contact me and I will remove it. Good luck and thanks. – Gilliam (talk) 21:29, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- Well, this comes as a surprise. Thank you very much. Stikkyy (talk) 21:32, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
Your rollbacker rights should be revoked for reinstating vandalism, such as this. It would help if you actually read the edits and looked at their history before you reverted them. (Substituting the data for one county, e.g., Ashland County, for that of another county, e.g., Bayfield County, DOES constitute vandalism.) 32.218.35.162 (talk) 00:27, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- 1. Yes, I did not look very much in depth into the page history. I did not look at the original state of the table. This is why I made my mistaken revert.
- 2. Yes, substituting data for one county with another county does constitute vandalism. I am aware that by making that revert, I was unknowingly reinstating vandalism.
- @32.218.35.162: However, looking at the page history, the vandal was never warned, and you never stated that the edits were vandalism. Looking at the edit, I saw that you replaced a county with "unorganized territory." It seemed rather suspicious to me. Therefore, I reverted. I was not reinstating the vandalism intentionally, or with any intention of malice. That being said, I do acknowledge that my revert was wrong, and I do apologize for that. Howdy. The IP 177.139.45.123 is just the latest from a Brazilian editor who continues on with non-sensual white space experimental edits. It's been going on roughly over a full year for this guy. GoodDay (talk) 06:05, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Help
Hi Stikky, thank you for offering your help to me. Now I'm doing only minor edits on English Wikipedia since my English is not the best and in first place I'm translating articles from German and English to Hungarian. But I have written a very good article considering the Altmark Incident, You can see it in my Sandbox. Would you help me and read it and correct the grammatical errors in it? I would be very thankful. - Andreas (talk) 22:33, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- I will add new sources to the article and some informations might be dropped. So it is not necessary to amend it grammatically before I do the changes. Thanks for checking the first part of it. - Andreas (talk) 07:01, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Good morning. I am french. Would you read my contributions and see the grammatical errors in it? Thank you. --Biboc (talk) 09:34, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Biboc: Looks good to me, no obvious grammatical errors. The caption of the map at Dent De Crolles could be reformatted, but I'm not exactly sure how. Stikkyy (talk) (contributions) 17:47, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Just to let you know
In order to add features to a particular automatic taxobox, you need to amend the templates governing the automatic taxobox's guidelines. Unfortunately, however, after years of encountering them, I still remaining utterly clueless how to actually edit the templates of the automatic taxoboxes.--Mr Fink (talk) 01:16, 5 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Apokryltaros: Well, I see no downsides to replacing it with a normal taxobox. Stikkyy (talk) (contributions) 01:18, 5 March 2017 (UTC)

A page you started (Xenohyus) has been reviewed!
Thanks for creating Xenohyus, Stikkyy!
Wikipedia editor Animalparty just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:
Note that articles should generally be in the narrowest category in any given hierarchy. Category:Prehistoric even-toed ungulate stubs is a sub-category of Category:Mammal stubs, and so {{mammal-stub}} is in this case redundant and superfluous.

Ranks in taxonomy templates
Hi, just to let you know that ranks in taxonomy templates must be the Latin names, not the English ones, otherwise not all features work. See Wikipedia:Automated taxobox system/taxonomy pages#rank. It's also good if you can add a source that supports the placement of the taxon in its parent. Peter coxhead (talk) 20:14, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
