Hello. Your recent edit to List of boarding schools in the United Kingdom appears to have added a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’. Please note that some of the references are not from sources that are considered reliable for establishing notability and should be removed (including blogs, company websites, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Spotify etc). The draft does not appear to show that the subject has any notability beyond the average coverage for similar institutions (see WP:ROTM). Hi,

Thank you for providing such good feedback on my draft. It's the only school in my local area that doesn't have a Wikipedia page and the other schools do not have as many independent references as my page. For example, the only reference on this entry is the school's own webpage: Trinity School, Teignmouth. This school's page includes similar citations to my own: King Edward VI Community College, such as gov.uk.

I have removed the link to YouTube and so all of the citations are now independent of the subject and reliable, such as the Independent Schools Inspectorate report. None of the other local schools have received coverage in The Times recently, and I'd argue that that is quite notable. Is this ok? Spangles123 (talk) 00:20, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It does if that's what the school inspection says and if it's what the school's exam results show.

If it is what the school inspection says then it needs to be a quote NOT in Wikipedia's voice and being "only school in the area that does not have a Wiki page" is not a good reason as some of the others should probably be deleted as advertising.
