TheOriginalSoni, we moved your Teahouse host profile

Hello TheOriginalSoni! Thank you for being a host at the Teahouse. However, we haven't heard from you lately, so our bot has moved your Host profile from the host landing page to the host breakroom. No worries; you can always just Check in and our bot will move your profile back. Editing any Teahouse-related page will do the same thing for you. Veerappan article

Hi. Thank you for your helping hand. I have made a series of edits to Veerappan article and the article needs some improvements in style, language and presentation. I think the article has potential to become "good article" and can we work together for GA status? Other article that needs immediate attention is Valley of flowers. Thank you. Rayabhari (talk) 08:44, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

I'll look at both articles, Veerappan first, once I'm done with doing a couple other things I'm handling right now :) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 08:46, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
I've done a lot of work on the Veerappan article, but left it somewhere in between (Political Support maybe) because I grew tired of doing it then. It was 2 hours straight I think. A lot of changes have been made, and you are advised to go through them to see if I've omitted anything important or altered any factss mistakenly. It's still far from GA quality yet, and needs a lot more work to get there. Ping me again to see if I can help, and I'll do it if sufficiently free/motivated. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 12:59, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Ok. Thank you. I will also work on it, whenever free.Rayabhari (talk) 13:03, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

EDUN1.0

Wao Sonni. Thank you so much for your help. I am going to work right now. I have an article to expand ;) Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:41, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

2013 North_India floods page

Please don't just delete the stuff written by others if you don't wish to contribute yourself. And still if you feel that you know what you are doing then just talk about it on talk page first before doing any such action. I am reverting your changes as of now and I hope you'll comply with these guidelines.Hrihr (talk) 09:32, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello Hrihr,
My removal was not vandalism. And if you look at my editing history for the article, you'll note that I have been contributing to the article.
Per Bold-Revert-Discuss, you made a bold edit, which i reverted. I appreciate your adding them to the article, but I think they are unnecessary, atleast in the form the article is. Now we discuss the issue on the talk page before re-adding it.
I have started a discussion on the talk page. Please participate in it before trying to re-add the sections.
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 10:16, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
I am happy to read that keeping the article in good shape is one of your highest priority. I added the content which I found to be valuable and which I thought will make the article look better. Sadly I've lost interest in this article as one I don't have much time to convince others about what is right or wrong and second because neither I have any specific attachment to this page nor any content added on the page is going to make any difference to me in any manner. Neither I was doing any kind of promotion nor I am the beneficiary here. And yes your statement I'm willing to add parts of the Causes section if you can reduce it sounds like if you are the owner of Wikipedia. So feel free to do whatever you think is best and count me out of this.Hrihr (talk) 20:10, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
I'll be very happy and willing to work with you but you seriously need to listen to others when they disagree with you on your addition of a topic. I was not the only editor who disagreed there or was in favour of removing the information.
I am not the owner of Wikipedia. I'm just one out of many volunteers whose opinion decides consensus. i was just saying my personal viewpoint. If other editors thought the entire paragraph needs to be added, then my opinion would not be stronger than theirs.
I'll certainly like you to help here, and I'm also willing to work with you on any articles.
Regards,
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 01:52, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to 2013 North India floods may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Giant red ref tag on frontpage news for an hour

"Someone using this wikipedia username, made broken 'ref' edits which have been reverted or removed. If you did this, please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. (and "Show preview" !) "

Advice: Sometimes it is fun to pretend, by dropping our user accounts and editing by IP. That way you can see what wiki looks like to a first time noob editor trying to help out. I appreciate and applaud your work Soni.

203.59.21.221 (talk) 08:58, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

  • I'll keep the ref edit in mind. Thanks.
Please also note that your ref "fixes" were not helpful, and broke the refs in the first place. So I kept your second edit, but reverted your first one.

Exams!

hey, Soni. I passed my Math exam. What about yours?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:31, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

I am reading a lot of references you and Jim provided my from EDUN and Ali Hewson... not totally boring but... it is a lot of work. btw, cool user page.. Miss Bono (zootalk) 17:40, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes. Articles are a lot of work. Most of those refs are from Poeff I think.
Also, thanks :D I'm still working on it. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 17:57, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Spam blacklist

You definitely have my attention with banning my account. I was unaware that people can unilaterally delete someone else's account. I would appreciate some insight on this point. Is this an admin functionality that comes after a certain level of contribution? I am completely open to any tool as long as we are:

1. linking to a tool 2. The tool is free (albeit what I included might be confusing but was completely free for most Wiki users which are EE students) 3. HTML5

Can you explain to me how me linking to a tool that is free for any student to use is spam? Specifically for pages about diagramming, a logical next step is to start using some tool. Can we please get a tool on there? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhanks (talkcontribs) 17:25, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

  • most Wiki users which are EE students is not all. In any case, adding links to a website after being repeatedly reverted is called spamming. There you have two reasons why what you addded is spam. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 17:31, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

Most people visiting the circuit wiring page will be EE students. I didn't understand at the time that you were something more than another user. I have had other remove link in a knee jerk fashion and have always worked it out. I see many edits go back and forth. I think it is only spam if it doesn't add value to the page and does something other than add a useful resource. I didn't quite follow your feedback. What are the two reasons that this is spam? Also can you address that there should be some kind of diagramming tool. I think we need to have something. Can I put up a different tool without worried about having my account be banned? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhanks (talkcontribs) 22:18, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

  • I am not quite sure, but I think you should discuss this with Ajv39 or on the talk page of Circuit Diagram before considering which link you can add so it is not considered to be spam. Also, others have removed it in the knee jerk fashion because you kept adding it without having discussion. If you have discussed and reached a consensus with any of them on the issue, I'll be happy to look into it. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 05:42, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

I feel like the dusted had settled on the issue. He removed it and then I left a comment on his talk page and readded to clarify that it was completely free. Also they have free PRO versions for students. I can see it from your point of view if you go to the site and have never heard of it before and didn't already have a free account. Also obviously there are other programs (Draw.io, creately, Dia) that do the same thing. I just prefer a HTML5 tool with the ability to have other classmates work on the same document. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhanks (talkcontribs) 17:50, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

There is a free version of the service for everyone. It allows unlimited diagrams with 60 objects each but there are a couple of additional features that you can enjoy as a student without paying. So there is a completely free version but it doesn't have bells and whistles like Visio file support. Does a resource have to be completely open source to be linked to? When I originally read over the external linking standards I didn't even feel like I was in a grey area with this one, but you are right. It is better to discuss first. I just feel passionate that open-standard web applications are the ones the serve people the best experience and raise the value of the site by providing them as a resource. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhanks (talkcontribs) 23:31, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

  • There is a difference between a demo version of a non free tool and a free version. If its not free its no use adding it. Even if its free, its better being open source. Anyways, I am not the best person about this, and you need to discuss this with someone else. but if it isnt free, its not going there at all. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 23:51, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

There is a completely free version even after the demo. Most people using it just use the completely free version. Here is an example https://www.lucidchart.com/users/registerPersonal - you just select free and then register. I hope this clears up the confusion. I see you continue to pull down my links because of this misunderstanding. I am thinking about just putting Dia tool up but they don't support libraries for some of the pages I was linking from, but we should do something because I really think people are missing out and not finding really finding a tool to use.

  • I am not the best person to talk about it. I gave my opinion already. A completely open and free website or none at all. I have no other knowledge of the policies in this case, or the sofware. Hence I am not the best person to talk about it. Please discuss this on a relevant talk page/noticeboard or the user talks of the people who might know. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 17:14, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
    • Which one would you suggest? I think we can agree that it isn't spam but also warrants further discussion.
I suggest nothing. Just discuss it with someone more knowledgable about it, please. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 19:46, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Ok I posted on the External Link talk page.

Congrats on OTRS

Contratulations on the OTRS appointment, Soni. I just wanted to say thanks for helping the community with the volunteer response work. I'm sure you'll be very helpful in that area. Thanks also for your persistance with the rangeblock stuff. I was really inspired by your persistance with the issue and need to thank you kindly for that. Your a fine and upstanding Wikipedian. Thanks. 64.40.54.119 (talk) 02:27, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

  • Thank you 64, for your kind words. I hope to be a help to the community through my OTRS work.
Regarding the rangeblock stuff, carrying the (now successful) proposal forward has been on my watch for the past few days. I just didnt start doing it. I hope to do that soon, and get it finished.
Thank you, and I hope to live up to your words. :)
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 05:45, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, Soni. You've gotten far further than I ever did, so I think I'll sit this one out. We are very lucky to have you volunteering here. Thanks again. 64.40.54.47 (talk) 04:27, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

EDUN

Are you in the mood for working?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 12:54, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Chester Hanks

Hey Soni. Can you find something on Chester Hanks (aka, Chet Haze for an article I am working on). Post it here User:Miss Bono/sandbox10. Thanks Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:24, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Why cant you work on one article at a time :) [Joke]. Am searching as we speak. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 14:28, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
I am working on both. Apparently I have a lot of free time at work. And I am hungry too, so I need to concentrate myself on more than a thing at a time. I am really tired cuz I took my Pilates class yesterday :) Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:30, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Find something?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:38, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
He doesnt appear to be notable. Almost all soources mention him only as "Tom Hanks' son". The rest do not appear to be that reliable. Still searching.... Added one source to the talk page though. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 14:49, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Yep. I think "not notable" given the limited sources I can locate on him. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 14:52, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
So, no article for him? He released an album "Get Hazed" in 2011 Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:55, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
No, unless I've missed references/sources others can find. Let me check for the album. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 14:57, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
If you find nothing, so can we continue with EDUN? Do you have time now? Miss Bono (zootalk) 14:59, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
I've found something but it wont be good enough. Lets dump haze for now, and focus on Edun. (P.S. I do several things at once sometimes so plz dont mind if I vanish for a few minutes every now and then. I'm busy keeping a wide eye out for a high-profile page.) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:03, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

EDUN 3.0

Ok, no problem, but you have to direct me to the next thing I have to do, so I won't get lost if you vanish. What can we do now. Look, I think the article (sandbox8 first) has to have a good body, like Dolce & Gabanna, this way the information will be well distributed and with a good understanding. (P.S. I don't know if you understand me). Miss Bono (zootalk) 15:11, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Look at what i'm doing with the sources (Read- Extract information - Add to the top of the talk section - collapse) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:18, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
I will read-extract and add to the top of the talk becuase if i work with the colapse and the sources i will mess it up for sure. Although I am going to add the sources into () Miss Bono (zootalk) 15:20, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
No problem. Just remove the sources you're done with, and I'll check. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:22, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Erm, User:Miss Bono, check the last source I've added. It contains a lot of useful stuff, though most of it is not good towards the company. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:25, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
The one about the taxes?? I am reading it now and will add a Controversy section. Miss Bono (zootalk) 15:31, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

Yes. The one starting "Five years ago, U2 front man Bono and.." It contains a lot of information about the company, how and why it shifted to Asia, and why they failed in their basic reason behind having the company. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:34, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

I'll read that now. Is it ok to add a Controversy section?? Miss Bono (zootalk) 15:37, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:37, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Have you find something on EDUN? Pjoef already added some information on DIESEL+EDUN and I add the controversy section. Don't know what else I can extract from that "Five years ago..." Need your help. Miss Bono (zootalk) 19:02, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

EDUN 4.0

Hi, Soni. Can you take a look at the sandbox please? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 17:00, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey Laura,
Why are we working in a sandbox when there is an article on Edun already present? I think its much better if we directly add it there. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 17:06, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I just wnated to avoid reversions, ya know. let's do it in the article. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 17:11, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Is it EDUN or Edun¿¿? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 18:19, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

I think Edun. All caps would not be the general practise at Wikipedia anyways. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:26, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Should I change the EDUNs for Eduns?? Are you busy for a quick review of the sandbox. I want to move into the main article as soon as posible. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 18:46, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Hey, Soni, can you find out if someone named Kate Fulcher is related to Edun business.? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:18, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
None that I or any sources see. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 19:21, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

New Indian user struggling a bit

Hi Soni. If you have the time, would you mind getting in touch with User:Rahul duhan with a view to perhaps adopting them or at least helping them out? They seem to mean well, but I'm concerned that a combination of youth, a language barrier, inexperience and cultural differences is causing them to do more harm than good. I'm probably not the best personal to deal with them, partly because I've been reverting their edits and deleting their articles, so I doubt that overtures from my quarter will be very well received. I know you're both an experienced adopter and from a similar cultural milieu, so I was hoping you might be willing to step in and gently steer them in the right direction. Much obliged if you can, no worries if not. Cheers, Yunshui  12:10, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

No worries, Yunshui. I'll keep an eye out for Rahul and try to help him :) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 14:05, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Ali Hewson

Can it has one???? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:37, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

No. Not a chance now. TFA is best bet for front page. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 19:40, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
but it is not FA already... Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:48, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
I know. But to get it to main page, FA sounds like the best idea. We must try for getting to FA. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 19:50, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
can we work on that as soon as possible? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:56, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Yes. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 20:03, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

And, what are the things that an article needs for DYK?? I dont quite understand that thing Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:57, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

The article must be increased very much in a very short time, or be created very recently. So if in the last 5 days, the article size increases from 1000 characters to 5000 (5x or more), it can be considered. Or it simply be a good sized article created in the last 5 days. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 20:03, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I get it. When can we start to work on Ali hewson?? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 20:06, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
(edit conflict)(talk page stalker) DYK nominations must also be well-sourced and accurate, particularly the hook that is being used on the front page to grab the reader's attention. Original research and controversial, unsourced details are definitely a no-no. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 20:08, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Anytime you wish. I'm going to sleep now, so I'll only be able to check in tomorrow. I suggest you also get in touch with someone experienced in FAs. Ping me if you specifically need me for the Hewson or the Edun articles, but I probably will be no good for general help. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 20:10, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I won't be here until monday, but I will try to improve it at home, taking a copy of the article with me. I need you to find something for Hewson's article for this sections: Awards and honours, Early life and Marriage and family Ms.Bono(zootalk) 20:14, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

I am fine. I dont have anything in mind for you today, but I can find sources for you if you want. Yes I am working on a list currently. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:01, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
I am fine too. A little stressed for my real life work. So can you find sources for me?? Post them here User:Miss Bono/sandbox9. Thanks! Ms.Bono(zootalk) 18:05, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
I hope you'll be alright :) Yes, but you need to tell me first what to search. Ok. Of course (As long as you dont use upside down question marks). All of India has the same time zone of +5.5 but I am from the Eastern side. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:11, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
Sorry for the question marks. I have the Spanish language keyboard enable for working (we use both marks ¿this way?) so I must have confused them while typing. I need you to search for these sections: Awards and honours, Early life and Marriage and family. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 18:24, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Nothing I could find with an ordinary search. Maybe you should ping Pjoef about it. I seem to be bad at finding sources :( TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:53, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
I will do it. User Dennis Brown seems to be interested about the FA stuff, let's see if he is able to help me. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 19:05, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Question...

Apparently you know a bit about the mentors around here... Do you think that you could help me find one? PantherLeapord (talk) 23:57, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

  • (talk page stalker) I would offer to take up a "mentee", but as you can see by my user page, I am going to be inactive coming up. Perhaps one of my former adoptees, Jackson Peebles? I do not want to volunteer him for anything, but he would be someone who I trust and who I think is ready to take someone on his own. Go Phightins! 00:19, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
Yunshui makes for an excellent choice for a mentor, and if he's willing to take you up, I strongly suggest you take him. As Go Phigtins said above, Jackson Peebles would also make for a good choice as a mentor.
I suggest you contact either of them, and see if they are willing to take you up. One of them should be probably free enough to help you out :)
Regards and cheers,

Protocol relative

Hallo. Just a quick fyi that I reverted your link-change at VPR, because the link without "http:" was probably intentional. It allows for "protocol-relative" links – i.e. keeping a user in https: mode if that's how they're browsing.

See WP:Wikipedia Signpost/2011-07-25/Technology report#Protocol-relative URLs coming for details. HTH. :) –Quiddity (talk) 23:21, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Good Articles

I noticed you're looking for someone to help you work on bringing articles up to GA. My query is this - what sort of articles are you looking to work on, and do they have easily accessible online sources? I'm personally interested in computing-related, automobile-related and football-related articles, but am happy to work on most things when I can easily find sources on the subject. Here is a list of my current GAs, where I also comment on how much work I did. :) Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 19:59, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

@Lukeno94: I'm planning to just work on a GA, and the best choice is to get one of the articles I have previously worked on (A relatively small list, found at User:TheOriginalSoni/pages). Of these, 2012 Delhi gang rape case seems to be suitable one for a GA. There will be plenty of sources online to work on. I hopefully already know how to edit, but am unsure of what the specifications or standards of a GA are, quality wise. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 20:57, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
  • A good start is to make sure there are no citation-needed tags in the article, or similar tags for improvement. The next step is to make sure that pretty much everything has an in-line citation. Step 3 is to check for deadlinks, and to either replace them, or find archives of them, using things like [1], WebCite, or similar things (you may have to search around a bit for a working archiver with some links) - and to check that all of the sources in the article are reliable, and no primary sources are used for controversial things. Step four is to check there are no short, stubby sentences, and if there are, to try expanding them, or merging them. Step 5 is to check for typos, WP:MOS issues, and similar things. Of course, whilst you're doing all of this, you need to make sure the language is fairly neutral and balanced, without excessively promoting anything (or being excessively derogatory.)
  • Assuming you've got no tags for improvement in an article, and there are no obvious issues with inappropriate language, a GA reviewer will happily link you to various things. [2] can be used to check for deadlinks. If you want an example of one of my GAs where I put in a lot of work, look at this one. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 21:27, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Step 1 is clear. No citation needed tags that I can see.
  • Step 3 looks good enough now, though you might want to check on that yourself.
  • Step 2 will take a lot of time, and so will steps 4 and 5. I'll go through them later.
Please also point out the most obvious problems with the article.TheOriginalSoni (talk) 00:19, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
  • The raw reference count is very, very good, and most things have in-line citations (it is possible the reviewer will ask for more, but it does vary from reviewer to reviewer.) I'm happy to help you with the GA nomination - that's why I came here in the first place. One thing I would definitely do is put citations next to the things in the infobox, just to be 100% safe - with a case like this, you need to err on the side of caution :) It's definitely ready to nominate, it's just a case of wait and see what the reviewer says! It can take anything from a few hours to a couple of months for the review to be started, with the latter being more likely, so it pays to be patient. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 07:36, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Luke, I've nominated it. Is there anyone else I need to inform, like the other people who had been actively editing the page? Also, since this super-long GA is likely to take a long time, should we try to get some shorter articles to GA first/at the same time? TheOriginalSoni (talk) 10:52, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
  • You can't predict how long any article will take to be reviewed - it depends on when users are looking for articles to review, and what sort of area they're working in. Work on other articles in the meantime, and if you want to try and GA them, the process is always going to be the same as I initially outlined. :) Also, you forgot to add a subtopic during your nomination. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 13:58, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
  • You forgot to answer two questions, Luke (I hope you've already watchlisted this page so you dont have to be pinged with every reply I make) - Should I inform the other contributers of the page, and shall we work on some other shorter GA while this one is reviewed? And no I did not forget. only I couldnt find an appropriate enough category in any of those, so i chose misc. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 14:11, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Sorry. Yes, I have watchlisted both relevant pages. If you scroll down on the "current GA noms" page, you'd see that the "Law" subtopic was most appropriate. It would be good to inform other contributors, but it isn't a requirement, and isn't something I have felt the need to do myself in the past. And I did answer the question about a shorter GA being worked on: you can't really say which topic will be quickly reviewed and processed, and which will take months. Working on other ones in the meantime is a good idea :) Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 14:14, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
  • I see. Thanks for categorising it. Ok. Ok. Do you have any articles in mind specifically which I can practise getting to GA on? Or shall we take another one from my short list of pages I am working on and my todo list? TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:19, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Err, Luke; should I just Echo-ping you every time I reply? TheOriginalSoni (talk) 00:47, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm not bothered, to be honest. User:Lukeno94/Plans and User:Lukeno94/Plans/Vehicles are my plan lists, see if anything grabs your fancy - if it doesn't, then we can look at one of yours. :) Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 11:03, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

  • Sure. The GA review for that article has started, but the guy who started it wants someone more experienced with the topic to take over - so it may be quite a while before that one is next looked at by a reviewer. :)
Oh. Then there is little I can do to help, if the review has already started. Could you choose another article? TheOriginalSoni (talk) 11:23, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Photoshop Own Work

Please, take a look at my Photoshop work and tell me what you think. I would like to hear your opinion: File:Waves_of_Sorrow.png. Thanks! Ms.Bono(zootalk) 14:03, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Is there some specific help required, Miss Bono? I can help you get across them. Otherwise I think I'm terribly busy tonight :( TheOriginalSoni (talk) 20:23, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I'll wait. The thing is about writting. See you tomorrow.. Is it 2 am in India???? :O Ms.Bono(zootalk) 20:27, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Yes it is 2 am here. And I cant help have tonight unless you've specific problems you need me to work on. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 20:39, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Could you look at a new article for me?

I'm within a few days of submitting a new article. Could you give it a look and make sure I'm on the right track? [3]

There's one citation to fix (Zhu et al.), and I need to resolve all the "additional reading" articles into citations or real follow ups.

Thanks -- ResearcherQ (talk) 03:32, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

  • RQ, Replied on its talk page. Please note that I have little knowledge of Biology and so I would not know if there is something more/less etc you should be writing about. All I managed was a brief go-through the article. From what I see, it looks like a goo article :)
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 00:57, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Hey, the good news is that you figured out it was about Biology! Thanks -- ResearcherQ (talk) 02:08, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Hehe, right. Feel free to ping me again for any more help like this :), RQ TheOriginalSoni (talk) 10:50, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

A bowl of strawberries for you!

As-salamu alaykum Soni! Thanks for the userbox link! Really, I was in quest for it. We people fight everywhere, even some in Wikipedia. The userbox sends a great peaceful message encouraging to avoid conflicts. I have given the box a proudly place in my page. Faizan 12:48, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Wa Alaikum As Salam, Faizan. I am glad you liked the userbox. :) Thanks to my friend Technical 13, you can modify that userbox to add any two countries you want, and it will create similar userboxes for those countries.
I really hope our countries can avoid all future conflicts and move forward peacefully :) Please feel free to ping me if you want help/want to work together on any articles
Cheers,
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 13:16, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
No worries Soni. I have visited the userbox page, Te.13 is a great technician.[sarcasm] Both civilian governments have given us much hope, and we can move cooperatively. We will cooperate In Sha Allah. I will ping you whenever I wanted to. Thanks again. Faizan 13:21, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Work in my morning (your evening 6pm I think)

Hey, I need help organizing and re-writting this. do you have a tiny piece of time for me?? :) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 13:22, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Also, I have revamped my User page, take a look at it and tell me what you think :) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 13:34, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
sorry, wont bother you again. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 15:09, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Hey Laura,
You werent distubing or bothering me at all. Just that I was pretty busy at the time, and so i couldnt reply to you just then. [That can and does happen to me a lot, I hope you undderstand]
Re the page you're working on, I think most of the thing you've marked as "working on" should be removed. It's trivial stuff, I think.
And your user page is looking great :) I'm still waiting to see more changes :)
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 17:16, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
What do you suggest for both pages (my user page and clarence hotel future article??) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 17:59, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Hotel - I removed the section where I dont think anything could be addedd from. Userpage - Get it cleaner. Good night. [Off now] TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:16, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Wait! What do you mean by cleaner?? Ms.Bono(zootalk) 18:21, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Reply (Adoption)

Thanks for the response, Yes please, I am seeking adoption. learning never hurts :)

Avinendra, I'll just check if there are any free adopters who are ready to take you up. I've already asked Kudpung, and if he's not free, I'll check with User:Jackson Peebles. I think one of them should be free enough to take you on :) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 11:48, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks again for all your effort and support. I am not in hurry though, Trying to understand all the procedures and wiki interface.

Also, Avinendra, feel free to ask any questions you have at #wikipedia-en-help connect. We have plenty of people to help around and answer your questions, and help you understand stuff around Wiki :) TheOriginalSoni (talk) 19:38, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
No problem. My new system is working very well in regards to reducing the workload of posting/reposting redundant information. Avinendra will be my third adoptee; others will go on the waitlist. More info to come to you soon via your talk page, Avinendra! --Jackson Peebles (talk) 19:44, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Bhati

[4] You can? Really? First time I've even seen that suggested. --NeilN talk to me 14:26, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

  • NeilN I believe so, yes. OTRS can be used to verify facts, like in cases like there, where the fact added may not be available in public records. I do faintly recall OTRS being used to verify the DoB of someone who had it incorrectly before, but cannot remember the exact situation. So unless I am gravely mistaken, I think yes. But its always safer to double check with someone else (who is experienced) too, I think. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 14:43, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
    • It turns out I was mistaken on this issue. We can use only reliable sources or none at all. OTRS was for providing information about Wikipedia and its policies. We generally do not edit because of email. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 15:31, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

The Clarence

I extracted some information about the clarence last night. I am going to post it right at the bottom of the sandbox (not the talk). Can you review it?? Thanks Ms.Bono(zootalk) 15:06, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

can you find something for a early life section about Brazilian actor Herson Capri? Not much. Ms.Bono(zootalk) 15:41, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks! :) Ms.Bono(zootalk) 16:28, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Talk page stalking

Soni, when an editor asks another editor a direct question about his behavior on his talk page, it is never the place of a stalker to attempt to explain that behavior. It just muddles the issue. If Tazerdadog can't answer for his own behavior, he has no reason to be engaging in a cooperative venture like Wikipedia. He doesn't need you to explain his actions. Although I find your explanation plausible and now even likely, my perception of his reply will be colored by the thought that either you put the idea in his head or he came to you privately and asked you to "stick up for him".

Stalking talk pages is a great way to learn a lot about Wikipedia. And for very busy editors, like Dennis Brown, answering questions of fact for them is a great help (as long as you make it clear you are a stalker). But if someone questions another editor's behavior, it is best to just stay out of it.

It is a very legitimate use of a talk page to question another editor's behavior; in fact, that is primarily what they are for. If not, we wouldn't need user talk pages; just article and wikispace talk pages. It is part of WP:AGF to take your concerns over another editor's behavior to him on his talk page. The WP:ABF version of the dispute in question would have had me reporting him at WP:ANI.

And I do applaud you trying to be helpful. Just realize that there are times when being helpful isn't helpful at all. This is one of them. Gtwfan52 (talk) 09:34, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

  • I'm sorry Gtwfan52 but I meant no harm. All I wanted to do was to avoid this possible misunderstanding that I noted. I hope you know all I did was in complete good faith, and with an intent to dissolve this potential confusion as fast as possible.
If there was anything wrong with anything I did, or something that could have been handled better if you were an observer, and I was an involved party, I would be glad to take your viewpoints into account.
If you have any reason to find my behaviour potentially problematic, I would be happy to try and understand what you think, so we can all resolve any/all issues as quickly as possible.
Cheers,
TheOriginalSoni (talk) 10:27, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
Already said what I had to say, so we are all good. No worries. Just please remember what I said above for the future, not just in Wikiland either...My Dad used to say, "He who sticks his nose where it doesn't belong is likely to get it broken". Papa was a wise man. Gtwfan52 (talk) 10:41, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

WTF is with the BS?

Are you fucking kidding me? John F. Kennedy International Airport is not a fucking Start-Class article. No one was willing to actually give it the right grade, so I did. If this is the case, then the damn criteria for quality grades is fucked up. If this is my fucking reward for working my fucking ass off to make a GA. But nope, no contributions I get to be actually proud of. Either rate it the right way or find somewhere else to contribute. Thanks a bunch. WT101 (ChatCount) 03:49, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

  • Of course it isnt, WT101. But if you are one of the users involved in writing the article, you should not be judging the class of the article. Atleast not when it's supposed to be B-class. And definitely not when someone else has disagreed with you already. Which is why I've done the more sensible thing and removed the rating of the article when it was under doubt. I'll ask someone more experienced to look into it and rate it appropriately soon. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 10:23, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
