Hi,
May I ask why you keep removing Hooked on Colonization, but leave other fansites intact? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shawn waller (talk • contribs) 11:07, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
G.I. Joe
The article is indeed reliable as it cites Fraser's Newsarama interview (although his character's name is still speculation on their part). Alientraveller (talk) 12:53, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Latino Review says it's a rumour themselves. Only Fraser having a cameo is confirmed, and not even his character's name. Alientraveller (talk) 12:56, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- IMDb is user-generated and unreliable too. Secondly, I was quoting the news article. Alientraveller (talk) 13:01, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

hey skywalker, I just wanted to thank you for your participation in my RFA. i've left some templated thank spam for you below. you may also be interested in checking out my in-depth RFA analysis. comments are welcome. cheers, xenocidic (talk) 23:15, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your support
I would like to thank the community for placing their trust in me during my recent request for adminship, which passed 72 13 2 . Rest assured, I have read each comment thoroughly and will be addressing the various concerns raised as I step cautiously into my new role as janitor. In particular, I would like to thank Balloonman for putting so much time into reviewing my contributions and writing such a thoughtful nomination statement after knowing me for only a brief period of time (and for convincing me that I was ready to take up the mop now, rather than go through admin coaching).
To my fellow admins - please let me know right away if I ever take any mis-steps with my new tools. Should I make a mistake, and you reverse the action, I will not consider it to be wheel-warring (but please tell me so I can understand what I did wrong).
To everyone - please feel free to slap me around a bit if I ever lose sight of the core philosophy of Wikipedia as I understand it - the advancement of knowledge through the processes of mutual understanding and respect. As always, feel free to drop by my talk page if I can be of any assistance. =)
Sincerely,
~xenocidic, 01:04, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Question
Hello SkyWalker, I had a look through some of your recent vandalism-reverts, and they looked good to me. Would you like rollback rights to use alongside Twinkle? Just remember that, if granted, rollback should only be used to revert obvious vandalism. Thanks. Acalamari 00:02, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Rollback granted. :) Good luck. Acalamari 15:26, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Osaka school massacre
See? That wasn't so hard, was it? I love how people here almost never like to admit when they've made a mistake that's corrected by a casual editor. --dfg (talk) 19:00, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi SkyWalker, I reverted your change of the release date of Empire: Total War back to 2008 the last time you changed it, because you didn't provide a source, or use an edit summary to explain the change. Do you know of a source that says the game will be released in 2009? The source I added to the article before is from gamespot and says Q3 2008, with Sega saying winter 2008. Thanks, Miremare 21:21, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

2008 in film
I just wanted to thank you for altering the template when you added Transporter 3. I must've had to fix it five or six times yesterday... Rau's Speak Page 05:20, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Oh no, I appreciate the ip's edits. I do. Just continually fixing it and then have someone do the maintenance themselves is a nice change. Rau's Speak Page 05:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- You mean "Trial and error"? Because thats what I had to do. I learned over on the avatar articles, I found this easier than HTML. Rau's Speak Page 05:47, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi! This is regarding the templates you added to Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon. Could you please explain how the article looks like an advertisement? Also, what was it you said about a "weapons guide?" The article is about an unrealeased video game, and therefore simply lists the weapons and what they do, to inform people about the weapons in the game. Am I mistaken or isn't an article about an unreleased video game supposed to discuss what the game is about, what is in it, and who will be in it? Thank you for your time. --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Nerd(Cortex Scan) 05:15, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- This is true, but it also says "Sometimes a concise summary is appropriate if it is essential to understanding the game or its significance in the industry." Since this is an unreleased game, most of the information on the article, including the lists of weapons and their effects, would be needed to understand the game, correct? Also, once I remove the 3 IGN Watermarked images, then the Image template may be deleted, yes? --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Nerd(Cortex Scan) 05:42, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will remove the images and template imediately, then will set about rewriting the article with other Wikipedians. --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Nerd(Cortex Scan) 06:04, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
adding image to Atif Aslam page
hey, I and few other users have been trying a lot to add an image to Atif Aslam article but so we are getting confused with the licensing and the images that we upload are deleted. We do have the permission to use the image from Atif Aslam and also from the photographer who has the copy right of the image, but still looks like there remains some discrepancy in following the license policy. please help. Harshita misra (talk) 16:24, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon game guide
The Article does not provide instructions or advice for the weapons, it simply lists each weapon and gives a brief description of it. That does not violate Wikipedia:GAMEGUIDE. It only violates that policy if it lists advice or instruction. --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Nerd(Cortex Scan) 05:28, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I do understand that, I am a Wikipedian too, and highly respect the policies. However, that article about an unreleased video game would need to describe the game's content, otherwise there would be no real point in having it. Weapons are a part of the games content, and no one would be able to tell what the weapon did, if it wasn't briefly described. But if it must be deleted, could someone please at least save the images in the deleted section. --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Nerd(Cortex Scan) 05:35, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you, but I would like the other images to be saved. I didn't go through the trouble of uploading them just so they could be orphaned and deleted, if you know what I mean. --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Nerd(Cortex Scan) 05:44, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Removing hangon tags from articles
Please do not remove a creator's {{hangon}} tag from an article, as you did at Bumpin. Even if "the article has no notability at all", the hangon system was created to give creators an opportunity to express their disagreement with the speedy deletion request, and they must be allowed to appeal through process. If you disagree with their reasoning, you have the option of adding your own comment to the article's talk page after they have provided their rationale. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Fellow de-orphaner!
I noticed you added your name to the list of participants in WikiProject Orphanage. We really appreciate your help! The first things you could do to get started with us are:
- Read the Wikipedia:WikiProject Orphanage page, especially the section marked "Criteria". The page contains a lot of good advice to get you started, as well as the standard procedures we are using to de-orphan articles.
- Look at {{orphan}},{{do-attempt}}, and {{articleissues}} closely and make sure you know how to use them correctly. (It's not difficult, but it is easy to screw up. Trust me, I have.)
- Keep de-orphaning! Category:Orphaned articles contains all orphaned articles organized by month. Right now we're just trying to keep up with all the new orphans being created, so please start with the current monthly category. Once those are cleared out, we can start working on the backlog in reverse-chronological order.
- Of course, you may have already known all of this, in which case sorry for the spam. Either way, let me know if there's any way I can help you contribute more to the project!--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 14:01, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
You posted a question on my talk page regarding the talk page of this article. As far as I can see it is all still there, and I cannot see any point at which I personally have had any input into either the talk page or the article. Would you care to clarify your question? --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 19:41, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Friday the 13th
We don't need a cast list. The actors that we have reliable sources for are already listed in the development section, and the infobox. We don't need a redundant list that serves no real purpose for the article. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 06:13, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Eventually, if there is any real casting info (like actor's take on a role), or specific ideas behind why a particular actor was cast, then we would create a "Casting" section in the "Production" header and move the "Jared Padalecki was cast as ..." to that new section. Cast lists serve no real purpose for an article but to either restate what was probably stated in the lead, the infobox, the plot section, and possibly somewhere in the production section - or, if they are done as an "Actor as Character" format then they lead to tons of in-universe information that shouldn't be there. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 06:20, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and the reason I removed Julianna Guill is because we need a reliable news report verifying that she is in the movie, and that it is a lead role. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 06:23, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- You're right, she doesn't. The criteria are at WP:BIO. If you feel she fails that notability guideline, then nominate her for deletion at WP:AfD. Let me know if you do, I'll weigh my opinion on the subject. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 12:32, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
You Don't mess with the Zohan Re:Husaamdiyaamaaazinqutaybamujaahiduaaaiaaaeeeh
Hey SkyWalker,
I undid your revision on the You Don't Mess with the Zohan page. Husaamdiyaamaaazinqutaybamujaahiduaaaiaaaeeeh definitely looked like vandalism, but if you go to the official movie website, they have the name listed there like that. 1. Go to the official movie website. www. youdontmesswiththezohan.com 2. Click: enter the site. 3. Click: Enter Hamdi's Kichen 4. Click: Salim, Click here to read his Dossier. It list's his full name there. Cheers, AJseagull1 (talk) 23:18, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Haze Weapons
Em, I think the Haze weapons are notable enough to be included in the article, I don't see why not - it's not listing them or describing in detail what each one does, it's just a brief overview. What's your logic for removing them? Thanks! Fin©™ 16:53, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, fair enough, it's just "there's a pistol and a machine gun and an assault rifle etc". Better left out. Thanks! Fin©™ 17:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Soundtracks
So you're saying that because a page is categorized that it's notable?! Half the stuff in there should just be folded into the composers page: there's no encyclopedic need for a page that's nothing but a track list. Better to compile statements about a composers style, evolution and impact on their page. --Aquatiki (talk) 18:13, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
You know what, I'm not gonna fight the system anymore. All I meant was that there is no data about the soundtrack itself. It's not like we're writing about, "at minute 2:16 on track one, the use of an augmented chord is typical science-fiction soundtrack." i.e., this is not an encyclopedia entry, it's just a placeholder for track lists and images. In 100 years, there will only be pages for Thomas Newman and Wall-E, no soundtrack page. People just use WP:NOT capriciously and inconsistently. Wikipedia is a hypocritical joke. 03:04, 3 July 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aquatiki (talk • contribs)

Speedy deletion of Crazy Machines 2
A tag has been placed on Crazy Machines 2 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Mayalld (talk) 07:34, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

...why you are removing the EL's for trailers and such? Just wanna understand the motivation behind it. –xenocidic (talk) 13:32, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- The spirit of that guideline is so as to not have a huge long list of EL's - and I wholeheartedly agree with that - but I'm not sure I agree with pruning a short list of 3 links down to just 1 when the ELs aren't overly self-serving. –xenocidic (talk) 13:50, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

I think that it is fine to keep both of the images since they are free and located on Wikimedia Commons. Regarding User:Baron1984
IMHO, It's really not worth getting into an edit war about this. Don't toe the line of violating WP:3RR just because he started it with some vendetta against Ubuntu. This is a wiki, and these problems have a tendency to sort themselves out. If it really bugs you that much (being called an "outright vandal" in this edit summary can't help), consider mediation or an RfC. Cheers, --Storkk (talk) 13:13, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've been watching his replacement of images. He started by just removing "on Ubuntu" from image captions, which i reverted as it seems like good, relevant information. Since he couldn't argue that, he's uploading similar images on other platforms. When viewed as a whole, it seems to be pretty clear anti-ubuntu pov-pushing, but the image replacements, since they don't really harm the encyclopedia (apart from creating tensions among editors), don't really bug me too much. Again, if they do bug you enough, consider WP:DR. Cheers again, and stay cool :-) --Storkk (talk) 13:22, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I understand (the fact that his images have bad licenses is a real problem, too), however the fact remains that it's not worth getting worked up over. I am walking away from this until tomorrow, and suggest you take a breather too. Like i said, this is a wiki and things tend to work themselves out. The article isn't about to go "final" or anything, so there's not much that's extremely urgent. Again, this is just my 2 cents... Happy editing! (if you're stressed you can't be happy) Cheers, --Storkk (talk) 13:32, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Generally, imho, admins are generally not the ones to contact about this sort of thing. WP:POVN might be a better place, or WP:RfC to get community input and strive for consensus. --Storkk (talk) 13:41, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- A third opinion may also be a good idea for the start. If that doesn't work out, I'd support an RfC on the issue, preferably at Talk:EMule. user:Everyme 13:46, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- It is not just the emule. See his contribs.--SkyWalker (talk) 13:47, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

EMule
Please stop the revert warring and instead explain on the article talk page why you think the image should be included. Please remember that the burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material. The inclusion of that screenshot image needs a rather strong justification, seeing as EMule is a Windows program. user:Everyme 13:21, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I did check his contribs, and the edit summaries are a point of concern, and so might be an agenda against Ubuntu. Still, you just did what cannot be done: You tried to force me to explain why the image is a bad idea. That's not how it works (check the policy link above). You, as the editor who wants to restore the image should explain how it contributes positively to the article. It doesn't, imho, and that's enough reason to not have it in the article. And there is no "you people", I'm just me. user:Everyme 13:28, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- The link above is a policy about Verifiability of information, and is pretty much inapplicable here. Nobody is disputing that the images show what they purport to show. --Storkk (talk) 13:33, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- That's not how policy and the project work. It's the most convenient place to link to, but you may also think of it in terms of due weight. Bottom line: Produce a source that discusses EMule on Linux, and ideally specifically Ubuntu, or accept that the image has no place in that article. Also, SkyWalker: whoa, hold your horses, cowboy. There is definitely use in attempting to resolve the issue by discussing in terms of policy and encyclopedic value, as suggested by me above. And please, if you don't want to risk a stupid block by the civility police, don't say things like "That user clearly has mental issue." No way is that going to help with anything. user:Everyme 13:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Re Sure removing images which is Ubuntu is a cause of concern: No, it's not in an article about a Windows program. user:Everyme 13:43, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have checked his contribs, an I agree there's some cause to concern wth regard to the uncivil edit summaries and an apparent anti-Ubuntu POV. However, I am not "supporting him" or discussing him in this thread at all, but instead I try to focus on the EMule article. I ask you to do the same. (btw, now that Baron1984 has been blocked for a week, we can forget about him for the time being, so back to the EMule article and the question why the image should be in there) user:Everyme 13:48, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
