Can you possibly help?
Regarding Talk:Miss Universe 2008. I need someone independent to take a look at the discussion regarding referencing in the Miss Universe 2008 article -- could you possibily check it out? There's been ongoing problems with the standard of referencing (specifically, what constitutes a reliable source) in this article, which has led to it being semi-protected at my request. I maintain that certain fan sites like Global Beauties, MissContest and others do not constitute reliable sources because the sites themselves are little more than original research (relying on WP:SPS) -- instead I have been working tirelessly to reference using newspaper stories and official websites and removing any unreferenced material (if you look through the history you'll see what's been going on). As you can read here, one user strongly disagrees with what I have been doing. I think there's a need for someone independent to comment on the situation and I don't want to approach any of other editors I often discuss problems with because I want comments from someone totally impartial, so I was hoping you could help. Cheers. PageantUpdater talk • contribs 01:19, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. My reasons for not including Global Beauties is that it it is a secondary source which often publishes material that is unreliable, i.e. often listing contestants without any supporting evidence which often turns out not to be true. Is this a good enough reason not to use it as a reliable source? PageantUpdater talk • contribs 03:48, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- If they have posted inaccurate information, then absolutely. seresin ( ¡? ) 04:21, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
More problems
Sorry to bother you again. There is now a major issue regarding the following Icelandic reference: http://horn.is/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1045&Itemid=14. As no English reference is available for the Icelandic delegate, I have chosen to use it per WP:VUE which states that a foreign-language reference can be used if there is no equivalent English reference. User:Kaiwhakahaere, the same editor I had problems with before, is revert warring this, ignoring the numerous times I have pointed out the policy. He is also on the verge of violating WP:AGF & WP:CIVIL. Its all quite perplexing because in the past I've counted on this editor to keep the Miss Universe 2008 article up to scratch and whilst we'd never been in contact before now I've always considered him to be level headed and helpful. Can anything be done to caution him to stop? I considered easing bak on editing on the article but all I am doing is implementing Wikipedia's policies in the battle to keep this article accurate and I am concerned about what happened if I took it off my watchlist (considering I've heard on far too many occasions people on the pageant board I visit complaining about the accuracy of this article) Cheers. - Well, as long as that website is otherwise reliable, then VUE states that you can use it. I would suggest discussing this on the talk page as well; I don't see a discussion about this link specifically. seresin ( ¡? ) 19:36, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
RFA Thanks
I wanted to thank you for your participation in my recent RFA. I agree with you that my comments towards kurt were completely unnecessary, and I've taken steps to make amends. I've posted an in-depth RFA analysis that touched on this and other issues and your comments are certainly welcome. p.s. if you prefer a more impersonal templated thank-you, I've included one below! best regards, xenocidic (talk) 03:06, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your support
I would like to thank the community for placing their trust in me during my recent request for adminship, which passed 72 13 2 . Rest assured, I have read each comment thoroughly and will be addressing the various concerns raised as I step cautiously into my new role as janitor. In particular, I would like to thank Balloonman for putting so much time into reviewing my contributions and writing such a thoughtful nomination statement after knowing me for only a brief period of time (and for convincing me that I was ready to take up the mop now, rather than go through admin coaching).
To my fellow admins - please let me know right away if I ever take any mis-steps with my new tools. Should I make a mistake, and you reverse the action, I will not consider it to be wheel-warring (but please tell me so I can understand what I did wrong).
To everyone - please feel free to slap me around a bit if I ever lose sight of the core philosophy of Wikipedia as I understand it - the advancement of knowledge through the processes of mutual understanding and respect. As always, feel free to drop by my talk page if I can be of any assistance. =)
Sincerely,
~xenocidic, 01:04, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Goal Line Blitz
let goal line blitz be, if you delete it you are saying every website should be deleted —Preceding unsigned comment added by Flete17 (talk • contribs) 05:26, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- No, only articles about websites that do not meet our notability and speedy deletion criteria should be deleted. This article fails both of those. seresin (public computer) 05:42, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
let's put it up for vote--Flete17 (talk) 15:37, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

The people have spoken, Goal line blitz is here to stay, but I do admit it has to be cleaned up quite a bit but we can work on that. --Flete17 (talk) 07:12, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
It's official Goal Line Blitz was voted to be kept. Look how professional it looks now too. You should make yourself a Goal Line Blitz account and loosen up a little. Stop only seeing black and white my man, and start seeing some gray. Peace. --96.224.246.17 (talk) 06:25, 23 June 2008 (UTC)--96.224.246.17
FYI
Hi Seresin, I've left a response to your oppose at my RfA. With due respect, I'm not sure your belief that my request will almost surely pass is justified ;) Avruch 10:44, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I'm sorry you felt you had to withdraw. I hope you consider the concerns raised, and address them as you feel necessary. Have a nice break. seresin (public computer) 01:16, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Aye, I tend to skip around and sometimes forget to finish my thoughts. Thanks for pointing this out; I'll go fix it now. — xDanielx T/C\R 01:55, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
