Bonaire referendum
[edit]March is as likely a date as any, but my information is that no precise date has been set and no precise wording has been determined. The party in favor of integration took two seats yesterday, and the party against only took one. My personal bet is that the referendum will never occur.—Kww(talk) 23:38, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- My information comes from IM and e-mail with friends. That's why I haven't added things to articles: no reliable sourcing.—Kww(talk) 23:44, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- http://www.nu.nl/algemeen/2168623/regeringspartij-par-wint-curaao.html is in Dutch, I'm afraid, but confirms 2 seats for UPB, 1 for ADP, viewed as a setback for the pro-referendum forces. It speaks of the current Bonaire coalition (of the ADP and the LPK) having a desire to organize a referendum, not of a referendum actually having been scheduled.—Kww(talk) 23:42, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Hiro Muramoto
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Hiro Muramoto. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hiro Muramoto. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

- BTW, here is my User:Morenooso/Carmelita González workspace userspace file. I break out my citations as a line item almost every time so it makes it easy for me to backtrack or add them to other sections. I saw another editor build an article like this and it made sense to me. You can use that file to crosscheck the refs. ----moreno oso (talk) 01:05, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

The article James Paisley has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:POLITICIAN.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 12:09, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 21:41, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

The article Fernando Toranzo Fernández has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Rettetast (talk) 12:17, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Done. You can just add {{ITNtalk|21 November|2024}}

The article María Ester Gatti has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Lacks references, only ones are of her death
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rusted AutoParts 15:34, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

I've come across Hamernick's article and I believe it could be nominated for deletion. The article is too new, so it shouldn't (if at all) be nominated for a bit. Are there any notable papers that he wrote that were published? Any special awards? The page WP:Prof gives some examples. Bgwhite (talk) 06:44, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
Watch list flooding
[edit]In about one hour you added almost 70 entries to my watch list, and I suspect this may not be the end of it. They are all poorly categorized stubs on Nigerian state governors that I started when I was on a roll trying to make entries for all of them for some reason. This is embarrassing. Never mind. Keep up the good work! Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 01:03, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi Scanlan. I see you got started with Hubert Schlafly and have placed an {{underconstruction}} tag there. Since it appears you have been editing in other areas, are you planning on expanding that article? By the way, I have recently received an email stating that three photos of Schlafly will potentially be released under CC-BY-SA. Goodvac (talk) 21:46, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
I saw you rated this article as start class. I agree: it is a bit more than a stub but not a lot. I quite often start "Who's Who" entries like this giving a basic biographical outline of someone who has some level of notability. It seems to me that a subject may often deserve a cursory article that just gives the basic facts. Rating an article as "start" - or as "stub" for that matter - somehow implies that more should be added. Maybe there should be some sort of rating that implies "good enough". The article on a person, book, movie, place, whatever, gives adequate coverage given the relative importance of the subject. Thoughts? Aymatth2 (talk) 00:55, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- I am getting mixed up - it happens. That was another editor. But comments would be welcome. Aymatth2 (talk) 01:34, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

The article Hamissi Assani has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. joe deckertalk to me 21:20, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Antonio M. Diaz. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Antonio Diaz. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Antonio Diaz - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. The article Hermina Dunz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Doesn't meet WP:NOTABILITY, see WP:1E
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Ways to improve Raul Gonzalez (journalist)
[edit]Hi, I'm MrNiceGuy1113. Scanlan, thanks for creating Raul Gonzalez (journalist)!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Being a biography, the article could do well if broken into sections with proper headings. A little more citations and text could also help.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. MrNiceGuy1113 (talk) 17:22, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
Move of Sheila Y. Oliver
[edit]I didn't see a justification for your move of the article for Sheila Y. Oliver and wanted to reach out to you before moving it back to its original title. Oliver refers to herself consistently with her middle name, as seen at this link for her official page at the New Jersey Legislature and more so at this link for her site as Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly. "Sheila Y. Oliver" outnumbers "Sheila Oliver" in a Google search, though some more recent articles omit the middle name as picked up in wire service articles. It would seem that both her preference combined with common usage would lean to "Sheila Y. Oliver". Alansohn (talk) 15:06, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, it's usually much easier to link without the middle initial. Most NJ media organizations, including papers from her home county, are using "Sheila Oliver" rather than "Sheila Y. Oliver." [1][2][3] Have a good day. Scanlan (talk) 15:23, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
- I forgot to add - If you feel that the "Y" is necessary, please feel free to move the page back. I won't object. Thanks again! Scanlan (talk) 00:24, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Scanlan, how are you? Sorry if I ask some minutes of your time, but I need your help. I saw you opened the page Chico Anysio and perhaps you can help me to correct my errors in opening this page about another great Brazilian humorist.
Please, can you help me? Thank a loto for your answer.

Hi Scanlan, I review Darrell Tryon for you; a nice read and great to see someone who is dedicated to writing on topics which suffer from a lack of coverage. I arranged for around 1,000 photos from Vanuatu (and other South Pacific islands to a more limited extent) to be uploaded to Commons. You can see these at Commons:Category:Files from Imagicity.com, and if Vanuatu is an area you will edit more on in future, this is definitely a category you will definitely want to keep note of for future. Keep up the great work! Russavia (talk) 11:44, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Helen Klanderud
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Helen Klanderud requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit]Hi there. I just saw the creation of Category:Provincial and state governors by country. It's a good idea, and one that was needed, so thanks for doing it.
I'm just thinking about the name. I'm sure you thought about it, but I'm wondering if there might be a broader name—since not all the entities are provinces or states (some are departments, districts, etc.) and not all are governors. "Heads of first-level administrative subdivisions by country"? Yuck. Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:53, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hello! Thank you for this category as well. However, where do you draw the line between this new category and already existing Heads of government of non-sovereign entities and Governors and heads of state of non-sovereign entities? All seem legitimate for placing leaders of sub-national divisions, whatever their name or the name of the office may be. I think that a line of introduction for the scope would be great. A friendly reminder on causality
[edit]In the article about Mike Pence, the governor of Indiana, you don't need to say that he is married to Karen Pence, the first lady of Indiana. He is not married to the first lady of Indiana. She is the first lady of Indiana because she is married to Mike.
Same thing in the article about Karen. You don't need to say that she, the first lady of Indiana, is married to the governor of Indiana. She can't be the first lady of any other state if she is married to the governor of Indiana.

We welcome your edits and your suggestions, but please refrain from calling edits "stupid and unnecessary" in the future. Thanks. Scanlan (talk) 21:21, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Helvecia Viera
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Helvecia Viera requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:2009 in Wallis and Futuna
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:2009 in Wallis and Futuna requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

[edit]I have reverted your edit at Talk:Joyce Anne Noel per WP:REFACTOR. You are not permitted to remove comments from talk pages other than your own. Continuing this behavior will result in templated warnings and a trip to ANI. Chris Troutman (talk) 13:58, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Chris Troutman. I just wanted to sincerely apologize to you for my editing mistake. Back in early February, I was trying to quickly add Women in Red templates to several biographies, including Noel, before a lengthy hiatus off Wikipedia to focus on offline priorities. (Today is my first day back on Wikipedia since February 2nd). I've looked at my edit for that Talk page that you rightfully reverted. While I obviously can't prove this, I honestly didn't mean to delete your comment. It was an honest mistake from editing to fast and too quickly before going offline. It will not happen again. Thanks for understanding. Cheers! Scanlan (talk) 17:06, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
- No worries; mistakes happen. Happy editing! Chris Troutman (talk) 17:07, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
The file File:Jo Ann Davis and Husband.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
orphaned image, poor quality image of subject
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jordan 1972 (talk) 18:50, 2 April 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Luke Sela
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Luke Sela requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Bbb23 (talk) 23:19, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Wedding of Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy
[edit]The article Wedding of Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
There is nothing to indicate this particular royal wedding has received the extended coverage needed to lift it out of 1E territory (royal wedding press is WP:ROUTINE; what makes this one more deserving of an article than any other?)
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JoelleJay (talk) 15:53, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

Toney Anaya Marriage Date
[edit]I noticed that you recently updated the article I previously created on former New Mexico Governor Toney Anaya with information from the article you previously created on his wife, Elaine Anaya to reflect that they were married for 58 years until her death in 2021, however the InfoBox used in both articles list their marriage year as 1969 which does not add up to 58 years until her death. Any assistance you can provide in reviewing andupdating the articles would be greatly appreciated. TommyBoy (talk) 06:58, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi TommyBoy. Thanks for your message. You are correct, the math doesn't work. I used their marriage date (1969) from the New Mexico House of Representatives source and the "58 years", cited by the Santa Fe New Mexican. I tend to think the NM House resolution is correct, so I'll remove the 58 years. Scanlan (talk) 11:39, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for updating the articles to correct the inconsistency between them being married in 1969 and for 58 years.--TommyBoy (talk) 02:53, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

The article Thomas Roy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Lack of notoriety. A few bit parts and one published gag doesn't merit inclusion in an encyclopedia.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
