Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/FLAVORx. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please do not make out that I did not perform diligence to that article. Tom29739 [talk] 22:51, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
- Aww, that's sort of cute, Tom29739, it made me smile. Are you good? You spend almost the same time getting above {{uw-agf1}} right (Diff of User talk:Sam Sailor → Diff of User talk:Sam Sailor) as you spend on voting at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FLAVORx (Diff of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lenskart → Diff of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FLAVORx).
- WP:AGF is however no a Get out of Jail Free Card, and as participation in AfD debates should be based on informed opinions, including vetting the existing sources as well as examining the possible sources, a 2 minutes pile-on vote to an otherwise ill-prepared nomination gets no good faith. Especially when looking at how much you want nominator to come and hang out on IRC (Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister, Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister, Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister, Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister, Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister).
- I'm glad you made the decision to change your vote in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FLAVORx a few minutes after posting the above uw-agf1. Good for you. Makes it so much more spurious that you post a uw-agf1 here in the first place. Sam Sailor Talk! 10:48, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
I know it's not really a big deal, but if you are going to thank people for taking part in a discussion then it's a bit strange that you should miss one out. Remember that IPs are human too. 86.17.222.157 (talk) 21:37, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- If it is big enough for you to mention, it is I who should conpensate for my neglectance and thank you here, 86.17.222.157. Regards, Sam Sailor Talk! 21:45, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
Silk Purse Award
Silk Purse Award | ||
I am both pleased and honored to present you with the Silk Purse Award in appreciation for your superb improvements to the Endre Lund Eriksen article, essentially changing what was seen through lack of diligence by some as a sow's ear, and making it into a terrific silk purse. Schmidt, Michael Q. 15:33, 8 May 2016 (UTC) |
- To editor MichaelQSchmidt: Thank you for closing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Endre Lund Eriksen with your consistently razor-sharp remarks, and thank you for the acknowledgement; in all honesty anybody could have done to Endre Lund Eriksen what I did. Sam Sailor Talk! 17:26, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, anyone could have... but YOU chose to do so. And while the nominator may have failed in his preliminary searches before deciding the topic non-notable, BLP articles from the outset need to include better sourcing than might an article on a film or farm implement, else be taken quickly to CSD or AFD. Worse was an editor who opined a delete without even looking for sources. Good job in addressing concerns so quickly and so well. Schmidt, Michael Q. 18:52, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you again, Michael, yes, the drive-by tagging is surprising, the drive-by pile-on voting even more so. Sam Sailor Talk! 08:19, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
Wow. Have a notable parent does not somehow automatically mean the child cannot possibly establish a separate notability. The AFD is akin to one demanding that Charlie Sheen be redirected to Martin Sheen or that Drew Barrymore be redirected to John Barrymore or some other of her progenitors. Wow. Schmidt, Michael Q. 23:44, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- But, MichaelQSchmidt, the article looked like this, you would not ask people to expand from the French where she made a lot of her work, and go searching for sources would you? It's so much more effective to send it to AfD and let other's do the work. ;) Sam Sailor Talk! 23:51, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
Deciding an (originally) unsourced topic to be automatically something unimprovable is not a proper deletion rationale and instead reflects a WP:PPOV. Stating someone's parentage is perfectly acceptable in a BLP, and WP:NONENGISH sourcing is perfectly fine for someone raised in France. Expecting others to do the work is not how it's done. Schmidt, Michael Q. 01:10, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- @MichaelQSchmidt: I hope the intended irony in my reply was not totally lost in translation. I obviously agree with what you say here. Sam Sailor Talk! 10:59, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

- Hi Sam, It did - I pretty much had a go at you for you simply giving me advice and I'll be honest I was out of order,

Simply a comment
I simply wanted to note that I'm starting to consider your behavior and comments a bit serious and I hope this is not going to lead to hounding. FWIW, I thought you and I had come to better ground so I hope you're not intent to criticize everything of mine including what Tom29739 says.... - Thread retitled from "May 2016".
Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on User_talk:Sam_Sailor#May_2016. Please do not be patronising towards me. Tom29739 [talk] 19:01, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Dear Tom29739. If you have further comments in regards to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FLAVORx, please post them in the first thread you started. I'm not sure this continued calling for AGF is getting you anywhere, you didn't take the AfD debate serious but piled-on to your IRC buddy, I called your bluff, you had the guts to change your vote, and that's as far as that story goes in my book. Lesson to be learned: don't pile on at AfD. Ever.
- I notice that you turn up here 49 seconds after SwisterTwister (Diff), three and a half hours after your last edit (Diff). Given your history of hanging out with SwisterTwister in IRC (Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister, Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister, Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister, Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister, Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister), and your friendly support when he was discussed at AN/I (Diff of User talk:SwisterTwister), you maybe wish to consider what impression that leaves.
- ST had signed with
~~~~~
, and you went on to add an {{Unsigned}} template to his post (Diff). That is a friendly gesture. A couple of hints: All templates in the unsigned series should be substituted, you transcluded it. No worries, a bot has since fixed it. But in the future use{{subst:Unsigned}}
.
- If manually applying unsigned,
{{subst:Unsigned2}}
is a bit easier to work with, have a look at its docs. But there is an even easier way to fix unsigned messages, and that is Anomie's great little script unsignedhelper.js. If you wish you may install it by adding the following to your common.js:{{subst:js|User:Anomie/unsignedhelper.js}}
, then save and refresh. Regards, Sam Sailor Talk! 09:55, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
Our F1 IP editor
Hello, bit more help or advice if you would be so kind. Our IP hopping disruptive editor has now created an account (the Pope is also now Methodist). The first thing he did (IP, not the Pope) was take a rejected draft and transfer most of the content into mainspace (Surtees TS14). Leaving only the rejection notice at the draft page. Question is, how does that affect the page histories etc? It seems akin to a C&P move to me. In any event it's somewhat 'gaming' the system...as he has been known to do before with his multiple requests for re-directs. Thanks. Best regards, Eagleash (talk) 22:55, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Eagleash: I am not sure I can give you a confident answer in this case (a good opportunity for me to do some reading tomorrow and become wiser) so can I suggest you take the question to
WP:AFCHD? Sorry for not being of any help. Sam Sailor Talk! 23:04, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Eagleash: Apologies, I am tired, it is WT:WPAFC I was thinking of. Best, Sam Sailor Talk! 23:09, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- No worries. I forget how the time goes as my day is about 6 hours behind everyone else as a rule! I really shouldn't be doing page mergers at this time of night either. :P I'll try the proj. TP as you suggest. Thanks. Eagleash (talk) 00:11, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Just in case you were going to spend any more time on it...Anthony Appleyard has sorted out the muddled histories etc. and another editor has left a message on former IP boy's page. Eagleash (talk) 09:08, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
New discussion
Good morning! It occurs to me you may be interested in this ANI discussion about SwisterTwister. Thanks. Rebbing 14:11, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Or evening, as it now is over here, but thank you all the same, Rebbing. I did send you a friendly thought when yesterday I happened to visit User talk:86.17.222.157 and realized that so many others have tried so much better than I to talk some sense into ST. But as the old poet sings, "I did my best, it wasn't much". Thanks for the link to the AN/I discussion. Sam Sailor Talk! 16:43, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
Palazzetto Bru Zane - Centre de musique romantique française
Hello Sam. I write you reguarding the article Palazzetto Bru Zane - Centre de musique romantique française. Concerning the copyright issue should I license text in a manner that allows its use on Wikipedia? What do you think? I really don't know what I can do to resolve this problem. If you have any suggestion it would be very usefull :) Thank you in advance for your help.JoséphineKirch (talk) 08:51, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- Ciao JoséphineKirch. Yes, I believe that would be a possibility in this situation, have a look at "Can you help resolve this issue?" in the article. But I don't think that solves the issues. As it stands now, with or without the copy-violation, it sounds so much like an About page. That is not what Wikipedia is for. Ideally we should rewrite the whole article based on secondary sources. If you have any connection with Palazzetto Bru Zane, please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest carefully. If you are professionally connected with and receiving payment or compensation for your participation here on Wikipedia, please read the policy Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. Saluti, Sam Sailor Talk! 10:07, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- Ciao Sam Sailor. If you look as this part of the article I already quoted the sources and references that I books about the History of Venice. I read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and I don't think to be concerned about this situation. I have just noticed that there is two articles about the Palazzetto Bru Zane. May be we should ask for the removal of this article. What do you think about it? Thank you --JoséphineKirch (talk) 09:39, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- You are right, and I will tag Palazzetto Bru Zane - Centre de musique romantique française for deletion as it covers the same subject as Centre de musique romantique française originally started by the good In ictu oculi. I notice that Remoromano (talk · contribs) has copy-pasted contents from Palazzetto Bru Zane - Centre de musique romantique française to Centre de musique romantique française. I will revert that edit, as nothing there is sourced, the photos might be put in a gallery. In this case the section § Publications is (more or less) a copy of http://www.bru-zane.com/?cat=110&lang=en § Sound recordings sums up http://www.bru-zane.com/?cat=14&lang=en and so on. Apart from being dull, bulleted lists, Wikipedia is not, as I said, a repository for information, and should look like a copy of an About page. We try to write articles based on secondary sources. What else than Palazzetto Bru Zane are you interested in editing? Sam Sailor Talk! 07:32, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
Spelling Mistake
The spelling of Illikkal Kalllu in this article is wrong. please correct it. 22/5/2016 19:51 IST — Preceding unsigned comment added by Activedogs (talk • contribs) 14:22, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- First of all, I don't speak Malayalam, so I am not the best to ask for a comment. We could try and ping Jyothis, Irvin calicut, and Arunvrparavur they speak the language. It looks as if Illikkal Kalllu is a more common transliteration than Illikal Kallu. But since the article also covers a higher peak, Illikkal Mala, would it be an idea to move the article back to Illickan mountain? Roland zh has started a discussion on Talk:Illikal Kallu and that is the logical place to continue. Sam Sailor Talk! 19:14, 22 May 2016 (UTC) P.S. Please sign your posts on talk pages per Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages. Thanks!
- gave reply on the articles talk page. Irvin calicut (talk) 09:00, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks Sam Sailor. In Malayalam, the place name 'Illikkal Kallu' can be pronounced/used in different ways - (ഇല്ലിക്കല് കല്ല്, ഇല്ലിക്കല് കള്ള്, ഇള്ളിക്കല് കല്ല്, ഇല്ലിക്കല് കള്ള്...). We can use either "Illikkal" or "Illickal" and can remove "Illickan Mountain". It's incorrect. - Arunvrparavur (talk) 05:44, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
Reverting to old version
Hi Sam.
I just wanted to let you know I restructured the Talk:Providence (religious movement).
I split off an independent section newly entitled /*Reverting to old version*/ because I wanted to use a section title that more obviously described the topic being discussed.
And another user was taking issue with the choice of Sept 2015 or Oct 2015 as the version to revert to, so I put his response under it too. --Kiyoweap (talk) 09:20, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
Hello, is A7 the correct designation to use for an F1 car, as I have at the above. This is our persistent disruptive (former) IP again. Thanks. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 16:56, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Eagleash. No, A7 is not used for products and services. It is not clearly mentioned in WP:A7, but you find it in Wikipedia:Field guide to proper speedy deletion#7. Unremarkable content. User:Adam9007 correctly removed the A7 tag citing "outside scope". So, you can WP:PROD it citing, I suppose, lack of sources to support the car meeting WP:GNG. But would it not be more logical to redirect March 87P to March Engineering and maybe slightly expand the mention of the car there? Like you did with March 87B in February. Best, Sam Sailor Talk! 18:59, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Not only is it outside scope, but there are numerous assertions of significance. Adam9007 (talk) 19:07, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Agree, Adam9007. But not relevant as long as it is not in scope. :) Best, Sam Sailor Talk! 19:09, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Not only is it outside scope, but there are numerous assertions of significance. Adam9007 (talk) 19:07, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- It is a car of no significance. It fails WikiProject F1 notability as it participated in one race and failed even to start it. As far as re-directing is concerned, this is how we ended up here. It was a re-direct to March engineering as was the 87B previously and the IP, as he was then, edit-warred over the re-direct to the point where it had to be protected. The 87B and 87P are actually the same car. IP gamed the system to request the original 87P re-direct from which he created the previous article (after the 87B was re-directed). I suppose we'll have to re-direct again and place the 'hidden advice' as mentioned in previous discussions (which does actually seem to deter the disruptive editor). Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 19:54, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Eagleash: I fully understand what you are saying in re notability, and believe you are right, but don't say it is not significant. As Adam9007 also implies, if cars were included in A7, this one would not be eligible, as it creadibly claims significance. I support your redirect, and I have watchlisted it. Best, Sam Sailor Talk! 20:15, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Eagleash (talk) 19:54, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- I'd have to disagree on significance. I really can't see anything in the page that would support that. It would be quite hard, I reckon, to get more insignificant than a car that failed to start its only event. And unlike the BRM P67, which did the same, it has no technical significance. The refs. are merely the car's specifications and don't lend anything to its significance...apart from the results cite which really doesn't help (in my view). :P. Eagleash (talk) 20:26, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Well, WP:CCS is a very low bar for multiple good reasons, and also needs no refs. But, again, it does not really matter, as cars are not eligible for A7. :) Have you guys/gals from WP:F1 approached the editor and tried to include them in WikiProject Formula One? - A few attempts have been made to get him to join up with the project but to no avail. Mainly it must be said when he was operating as an IP...so it's likely he didn't see some of the messages before the IP changed (sometimes it changed twice a day). We know he saw some, because he blanked the page. Honestly, we've completely lost patience with him now and some of us just revert him on sight. (Not me!). He's had a year or more to learn how to do things, and been given advice on talk-pages several times (by Admin as well as us). He's had so much leeway but just carries on making work for other editors. Eagleash (talk) 21:48, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Bit more F1 editor
Hello, former IP boy has created 3 more non-notable articles in the last 24 hours. (It's half-term I think!) Most of the content copied from somewhere. I was wondering how sneaky it might be if we (F1 Proj.) (I.e. me and one other who tidies up after him too) created redirects for cars he hasn't got to yet and placed the 'hidden advice' mentioned previously on the page. I'm sure it must violate some policy or other but if he was able to request re-directs and then create articles seems fair dos if we can preempt him. (He's also created a number of categories which he had declined at AfC). Thanks. Eagleash (talk) 18:21, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hello Eagleash. If the redirects you would like to create are something along the lines of March 87P, i.e. <Car brand & model> redirect <F1 team#List of minor cars>, they are valid. As for adding the hidden text
<!--Please do not re-create an article at this location without initiating a discussion at the Wikipedia F1 project. Thank you.-->
as done in March 87P, it is probably ok per WP:HIDDEN. Maybe the hidden text should be worded even softer and include a reason? I notice that WP:HIDDEN says:- When it is a mere consensus that a certain edit should not be performed, the hidden text should be worded more softly to suggest to the editor to consult the talk page (or archive page if appropriate) for the current consensus prior to making the edit. Since consensus can change, it is inappropriate to use hidden text to prohibit making a certain edit merely because it would violate an existing consensus.
- Thanks. I've tweaked the hidden advice (I think) appropriately, thus :-
<!--Please do not re-create an article at this page or for this car without initiating a discussion at the Wiki F1 Project talk-page, in order to establish that it would satisfy notability and that there is a consensus for a page to exist. Thank you. -->
at several pages thus far, but there are quite a number of them and it may take a while to remember them all. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 14:38, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've tweaked the hidden advice (I think) appropriately, thus :-
You used User:Kephir/gadgets/rater to assess said template. This caused the talk page to be placed in CAT:WRONG, because the WikiProject Templates banner does not allow use in template talk namespace.
Misunderstanding???
Hi there! I'm sure this must be a simple misunderstanding. ny and new york link to the New York (disambiguation) page; i.e., when entered without the caps; while when capitalized, NY and New York link to the proper State article page. Obviously this was an oversight. People are usually or at least often lazy and don't type in the caps. There's no reason for the capitalized terms to redirect properly but the uncapitalized versions directing to the dab page. I happen to notice the error and wanted to fix it myself but didn't know how to redirect a term that already linked to a particular page, and that's why I put in the request. Best, Castncoot (talk) 03:28, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Castncoot. Thanks for your message. Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects is for requesting new redirects, but the three you asked for, new york, ny, and New york, already existed. MediaWiki has a number of technical limitations, one of them being that the first letter of an article title can not be lowercase, so in reality new york and New york are the same, and ny is in reality Ny. I was just skimming the lengthy discussion at Special:Permalink/726540845#Requested move 9 June 2016 (and the even longer below) and the move review, and notice you have been there yourself already. We'll await to see the outcome of these discussions. But I agree with you, that if New York redirects to New York (state), then New york, which is an {{R from miscapitalisation}}, should redirect to New York (state) to avoid a double redirect, not to the DAB page as edited six days ago. And I would apply the same kind of logic to Ny: it should redirect as the community decides NY should redirect. Both can be boldly edited. Best, Sam Sailor Talk! 09:48, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Castncoot: May I add that the requested move IMHO is ill prepared? Although I, as a non-American, belong to the apparent minority who thinks New York should redirect to New York City, but accepts that community consensus is something else, I don't think this matter should have been rehashed. All it takes is some humble acceptance that the logic of the 100s or 1000s of editors who discussed the matter before, may have been right. And may I say, the discussion should never ... let me put that this way: were I to close a RM, I'd certainly give this one a wide berth and leave it to someone with more miles under their belt. All in all I think this whole affair is a fine example of unnecessary time wasting. Best, Sam Sailor Talk! 11:06, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
Submitting draft
Hello Sam, I wonder if you can shed any light on another tech. problem for me if you would be so kind? The last few drafts I've moved to mainspace, I've put the code {{Userspace draft|source=ArticleWizard|date=Month Year}}
at the top of the mark-up page before submitting as I've done previously. This always used to produce the 'new article awaiting review' tag at the top of the page, but does not seem to do so recently. It's probably something blindingly obvious I'm doing wrong (or don't know about) but I'm a bit baffled as things stand. It has only happened since I passed 50 articles but wouldn't think that could have much to do with it! Thanks. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 11:54, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- I'm always happy to try to help, Eagleash, sometimes it's an opportunity to learn something new, sometimes a possibility for refreshing what you only vaguely remember. (You know the old saying: "Three distinct things happen when you get older: A. You lose short term memory. B. You lose your hair. And C. You, uhh ... you, ehhharrrhm ..... you lose short term memory. ;) )
- The {{Userspace draft}} documentation says "If the page is in article mainspace it shows {{New unreviewed article}}". I can see
New unreviewed article
in the code, but why it does not display (e.g. in Keith Holland (racing driver)) is beyond my rudimentary knowledge of template code. You could ask in plenum on the template talk page, or, if you prefer, ask one of the template editors, e.g. SMcCandlish or Enterprisey.
- But isn't it time that you file for autopatrolled at WP:RFP/A? The bar was lowered from 50 to 25, so with 54 articles created you're good. Alternatively I can request it for you, (not that I think that makes any difference), or you can request any sysop who knows your work to grant you the right. That's how I got my
autopatrol
. --Sam Sailor Talk! 16:23, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've asked SMcC. I had a quick look at WP:RFP/A and managed to confuse myself a bit, that's the next thing after... err whatever it was we were talking about. Quote; Kryten, Red Dwarf: "My short term memory has been erased, which, coupled with the erasure of my short term memory, means my short term memory has been erased" Thanks. 17:12, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- It was a problem with the template code. I have applied for AP. Thanks for suggesting it. Eagleash (talk) 22:35, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Eagleash: Sounds good. Sam Sailor Talk! 11:57, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
Reopen
Hey Sam Sailor! I just saw that Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alanna Shaikh was closed by you. I was actually posting a further analysis of the sources but it got closed before that. :( If you don't mind, could this be reopened and relisted instead? I believe the discussion about sources was continuing on this (both nom and I had posted comments shortly before closure) and a more thorough discussion would strengthen whatever is the eventual outcome of the discussion. Thank you. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 20:50, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Lemongirl942: But of course, give me sec. Sam Sailor Talk! 20:56, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
Criticism
I noticed your criticism of a series of PRODs made by me. Although I prefer my PROD log red, I applaud the fact that you're allocating your own time to revamp those articles. I am curious of your opinion about my "non-policy based delete !vote"
and the wording of WP:NOENG. I examined the Richard Thompson source the original author used and was unimpressed. The degree to which I as an Anglophone monoglot cannot verify French-language sources has me wondering if you'd prefer I simply defer to francophones in these regards? This is English-language Wikipedia. Chris Troutman (talk) 03:12, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message, Chris troutman.
- If a red-linked PROD log is preferred, the optional logging of proposed deletions can be turned off in Twinkle preferences and the existing PROD log tagged with
{{db-u1}}
. The notifications posted on User talk:Bearerofthecup could have been skipped by deselecting "Notify page creator if possible" at the time of PROD-tagging, as Bearerofthecup has not edited for 4+ years and falls under the exception in WP:PRODNOM. Several tools are available that list deleted pages created by a user, e.g. xtools.
- I usually stay away from discussion where I feel I lack competence to give a qualified opinion, e.g. in deletion discussions where all or the wast majority of sources are in a language that I do not read and where Google Translate and the like offer little or no help. Japanese would be one example, Arabic another; with my participation in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mahmoud Abdel Moghny being an exception, and where I clearly stated my limited qualifications. I stay away, because I can not comply fully with WP:BEFORE. French is, however, one of the languages where online translation tools output a fairly decent English translation. And thank G*d for that: my French is indeed rusty, as I'm from an age where Latin as well as three different foreign languages were mandatory, but have not practised my French on a regular basis since. Using the alternative search term I provided in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wolf of Soissons, the French language sources - as well as the German - are easily found. From there it only takes a bit of dedication to verify that not only was this a case that drew considerable attention when it happened, it has also been mentioned in sources continuously up till today.
- I have little idea why anyone would think they could reasonably tag for deletion an article without doing a modicum of WP:BEFORE, let alone tag it for uncontroversial deletion, PROD, which bypasses a broader input, restricting it to deleting admin and those who visit CAT:PROD. I have no idea why anyone would at an AfD discussion argue that
I don't speak or read French. ... As for me, sources I can neither evaluate nor use are not sources at all, to my mind. ... I'm doing the right thing and pushing for deletion.
- when they are presented with 14 {{cite book}}s. Both Everyking and Josh Milburn echoed my surprise each in their own way. Where's the logic? I have never seen such "argument" used at AfD before, it certainly falls flat of WP:DEL-REASON and is contrary to both the word and the spirit of WP:NOENG, but as closures are based on "reasonable, logical, policy-based arguments" I doubt such argument will ever be given much weight. Regards, Sam Sailor Talk! 14:20, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. I appreciate your thoroughness. Chris Troutman (talk) 20:48, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
