Elaboration on principles?

[edit]

I find it odd that the majority of the article focuses on membership over time, and offers very little material on their policies and platform. I see the brief one-liners given in the principles section, but it isn't at all clear to me the philosophy behind their principles, nor how they have acted or attempted to influence legislation. Not ignoring their relationship with the Pirate Bay and Wikileaks, I think it would be prudent to expand on their platform and action, and reduce the focus on their recruitment success-rate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.57.119.134 (talk) 17:22, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Aenchevich (talk) 21:26, 28 May 2013 (UTC)== EU parliament (clarification) ==[reply]

I would like to advocate improving the EU Parliament field in the summary sidebar as well as the EU Parliament section in the main article. At present both are rather cryptic and misleading :

a) because Sweden (according to the "European Parliament" article) currently holds 18 seats in the EUP, not 20.

b) because it appears as though the Swedish PP holds 2 seats out of the total 20 seats of the EU Parliament. But the EUP does not have 20 seats (of course) but 736 seats. IMO, since this is supposed to denote number of seats the SwPP holds in the EUP, "2/736" would be more appropriate and infomrative. Or perhaps "2/18/736" with some appropriate comments explaining what the numbers mean. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aenchevich (talkcontribs) 20:31, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading numbers

[edit]

This article appears to focus on membership over time. But, the time period included ends just before a precipitous drop in membership providing a highly misleading account. Statisticians have a word for that. According to the Pirate Party, their current membership is 8691. To see a full chart, see http://data.piratpartiet.se/Charts/MemberCountHistory.aspx?EndDate=2013-11-30&Days=3000&XSize=826&YSize=590. It is clear from the current chart that the chart in the article ends just prior to the decline. It is clear from the article wording that an impression is being attempted that is false.
