A tag has been placed on Yang Hua (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Index of World War II articles

I've declined your Proposed Deletions of a few articles such as Index of World War II articles (A). They would need a deletion discussion at AFD - both because there are so many pages involved, and because it is likely that people will find the proposal controversial.

If you would struggle with the technical aspects of creating a single mass AFD discussion, let me know (with a deletion rationale) and I can do the technical parts of the nomination for you. User:力 (powera, π, ν) 19:37, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited John Doubleday (sculptor), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page British.

J. S. Burger moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, J. S. Burger, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. "Adrian Hipkiss" listed at Redirects for discussion

A discussion is taking place to address the redirect Adrian Hipkiss. The discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2021 December 14#Adrian Hipkiss until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Your edits to disambiguation pages are in many cases a clear dis-service to readers. WP:PARTIAL forbids "mere partial title matches" -- like "Louisville Zoo" and "Zoo". Obviously, many things that should be disambiguated will also be partial title matches. You should not remove items just because they include the disambiguated word in their title. As a simple example, the ternary numeral system is frequently called "ternary" -- so any disambiguation of the term "ternary" must include ternary numeral system. I have reverted a handful of your edits where it was clear to me that you made errant removals, but you have made many others today; please re-evaluate them. --JBL (talk) 23:15, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

I've reverted a few more of these, for the same reason. These edits make the disambiguation pages less useful to our readers. Elli (talk | contribs) 23:52, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
@JayBeeEll:, @Elli:, a lot of them are not referred to in their shorter form e.g. you would not call Binary opposition simply "Binary", Secondary market simply "Secondary", Ternary compound simply "Ternary", Tertiary education simply "Tertiary", Quaternary glaciation simply "Quaternary", etc. I had also added All pages with titles beginning with Secondary and All pages with titles containing Secondary on each page so people could see all the pages beginning with or containing the word. Sahaib3005 (talk) 09:20, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
No, actually there are many contexts in which these would be referred to as simply "binary", "secondary", etc. olderwiser 10:25, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Concern regarding birth names

Hi, I am not vandalizing the pages, Im just adding them to the biographies. I am using Ancestry to add in the names but I have no idea how to list it a source due to it being a paywall. Any ideas?

@71.126.4.201:, Ancestry is not a reliable source per Wikipedia:ANCESTRY.COM. Please stop doing this or I’ll report you to WP:AIV. Sahaib3005 (talk) 18:45, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

Women in Red

Hi there, Sahaib3005, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to have such an active editor in the project, especially as I see you review AfC articles. Up to now, you have not created many biographies of women but I hope you will now be inspired to do so. If so, you might find it useful to look through our Primer for creating women's biographies. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 08:29, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
