[edit] Hello SCUA-Han. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:SCUA-Han. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form:
{{paid|user=SCUA-Han|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. You appear to be a single-purpose editor adding external links to University of Maryland libraries. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:26, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- I see you have declared your COI on your talk page. Please stop links to your employer on so many Wikipedia articles. Please propose changes on each article's talk page. Some of the links you added have little relevance to the articles they were added to, which makes them spam links. Thank you for your cooperation. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:40, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback Magnolia677. I will make sure to will concentrate on improving the quality of articles, not just adding links going forward so not to spam Wikipedia.SCUA-Han (talk) 19:28, 14 July 2020 (UTC):
- Hi SCUA-Han. Like many other GLAM professionals and WIkipedians-in-residence, you are working to improve WIkipedia using you institutions' resources. University of Maryland Libraries is a valued GLAM-Wiki partner that has hosted edit-a-thons and editing events aimed at encouraging students and faculty to engage with Wikipedia. A similar practice can be seen on the Smithsonian's GLAM project page which lists employees working to improve Wikipedia using the Institution's own resources. You are in compliance with COI: GLAM which states:
- Museum curators, librarians, archivists, and similar are encouraged to help improve Wikipedia, or to share their information in the form of links to their resources. If a link cannot be used as a reliable source, it may be placed under further reading or external links if it complies with the external links guideline.
- Since you are editing as part of GLAM-wiki, which allows staff from galleries, libraries, museums and archives to edit and share resources, you should not be considered a traditional paid editor that is simply adding links to your 'employer'. Though, as Magnolia677 stated, it's best for links to directly relate to an article's subject matter.
- Thank you for your edits and for sharing University of Maryland Libraries' resources in Wikipedia in accordance with GLAM-Wiki policy.-Ariel Cetrone (WMDC) (talk) 02:44, 2 August 2020 (UTC)

[edit]@Robert McClenon: Thank you so much for your comments. I will be sure to add her the the disambiguation page if the article is accepted. I have not been able to find a date of death for her unfortunately. I have searched different variations of her name (including/excluding middle names) as well as looked at different newspaper obituaries. My guess is that she died in the Bahamas as that is where her later years were spent, but I still could not find her when looking in newspapers there. Do you have any suggestions on other resources where I could look or what to search for? I also included the question mark because that is how it was indicated in one of my sources due to lack of certainty, but if there is a better way to report that in Wikipedia, let me know! Thanks again. SCUA-Han (talk) 14:23, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
