Dark Kiva

To note, Dark Kiva's been HEAVILY referenced in #34 as a element in the episode, confirming the Wataru/Taiga relation as heirs to the original King. Furthermore, Dark Kiva's to make a physical debut in #36. Fractyl (talk) 02:53, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

We cannot confirm any of this.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:15, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
But #34 says otherwise about the relation, the rest is in air like his actual name? Fractyl (talk) 03:54, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
No section on the characters article just yet, please.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:53, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Here's a silhoutte of Dark Kiva, with 2008 events of #35 mentioned I believe. Plus, as King has appeared in the episode promo, can he be added now? Fractyl (talk) 05:14, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
A silhouette means nothing.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:20, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
How about his appearence in the #35 promo, which reflects the Kiva opening? Fractyl (talk) 16:58, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Olden block to review

There's a request to unblock an IP range you have blocked back in 2007. I had originally intended to grant the request, thinking it was referring to a single IP (which I would have watched), but I don't want to unblock an entire range of my own accord. Could you please look into it? --Gutza T T+ 16:41, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Taken care of. Spellcast (talk) 17:14, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

All-caps usage

Hi. I see you reverted my edit to Camino (band). Wikipedia:Manual of Style (capital letters) discourages the use of all-caps in Wikipedia articles unless the title is an acronym. You may already be aware that it is common practice for Japanese natives to write English words in all-caps - especially in the music industry - but that does not mean we have to copy this practice. --DAJF (talk) 01:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

This is one English word that they wrote in all caps. The single has a song called "So sweet Lo..." as well as "STORY -NIGHT walkers MIX-." That and guidelines are only a suggestion. I choose not to use that suggestion on Camino (band).—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:14, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Did you read line 3 of the "Capitalization" template I added but which you deleted without resolving the issue? It said "Never use all caps, and album/song names should be in title case". That seems pretty clear-cut to me, so I'm not sure why we need to be making exceptions simply because there is just one song title like this. --DAJF (talk) 01:24, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Because the manuals of style are guidelines. They are not written in stone policy. I personally do not like MOSCAPS. I choose not to follow this guideline when writing articles, because more often than not, it's a really minor aspect of the article that only leads to ridiculous edit wars like the one we're having now. I suggest that you just leave things be, as there is no pressing issue as to having "STORY" or "Story." It should be the writer's preference in this matter, as I wrote up the entirety of the article.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:27, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Power Rangers:Mystic Force

I was moveprotecting some highly visible pages with large edit counts (i.e., ones where malicious pagemove titles can't easily be removed from the history). NawlinWiki (talk) 20:16, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

I see.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 20:16, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Why?

When your user talk page states "please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). If you do not sign your comments, I may remove them entirely. Thank you.". Why is that? Not that it really matters. Mythdon (talk) 08:45, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

I want that done instead of those signbot messages.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:51, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi there Ryulong, I see you deleted a few monoclonal antibody stubs as hoaxes back on the 4th. I was wondering how you came across them and how you determined they were hoaxes, because, although they may very well be non-notable... they were verifiable :) If you do find any more suspicious drug articles, I'd really appreciate it if you could leave a note at WT:PHARM or WT:MED. I clicked on the CAS number identifier in the articles and they had no page there.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:04, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Morphing Grid

I'd like to discuss your deletion of my Morphing Grid section. Your reason for deleting it is because it's "fictional." You seem ignorant to the fact that there is plenty of entire articles, not just sections, devoted entirely to fiction. Some of them are even in the Power Rangers articles, such as articles on major power ranger characters.

Your other reason is that the Morphing Grid is insignificant. It may not be mentioned often, but it's still integral to the Power Rangers. It's their source of power for God's sake. A lot of non-fans may read the articles and think to themselves "What the hell is the Morphing Grid?" A description needs to be found somewhere. Where better than in the main Power Rangers article?Dstebbins (talk) 14:14, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

The entirety of the section you are adding has no basis in reality or substantial content in the series itself to warrant a section on the main article. It is also entirely without any references and appears to be an original synthesis on your part.
No one is going to be going to the Power Rangers page and think to themselves "What is the Morphing Grid?" because it is not mentioned anywhere on Wikipedia. Do not add the section there, again.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:21, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Policies?

Since you tend to remove questions I ask you from your talk page that you consider silly or pointless, could you show me a policy supporting your decisions, if there are any?. —Mythdon (talkcontribs) 20:11, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Any user may delete unwanted comment from his or her own talkpage. Mythdon, since Ryulong does not seem to appreciate your generic questions to him, I suggest that you stop posting them here. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 20:16, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Little Brother Article

Dear Ryulong,

This regards my article on Little Brother (Masters of Science Fiction) which you deleted stating the reason as "A1: Not enough context to identify subject".

It was linked from the short story of the same name from where the television episode was based. As I did that article on a Sunday, I had to perform my obligations so I posted that article in the hopes of visiting it again to fine tune it.

Unfortunately, by the time I returned, you had already deleted it. Since it is mentioned that deleted articles aren't lost, I respectfully request that the article be reinstated so it may be edited.

Thank you

Justicia Liga (talk) 17:59, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

There's no article on the show itself and there is nothing notable about the singular episode you made an article for.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 20:53, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
I saw the deletion mentioned at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page#Deleted article on "Little Brother" Masters of Science Fiction. Per Wikipedia:Television episodes#Dealing with problem articles you might restore and redirect to Masters of Science Fiction. Other (and admittedly better formatted) episode articles at [1] and [2] were redirected there. PrimeHunter (talk) 02:20, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Why bother restoring at all? There's no content of the redirected articles other than their title.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:23, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
If sources for a proper article are found later then non-administrators can see the old version in the page history of the redirect and work from there instead of starting over. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:38, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello Ryulong!

I entirely understand the policies on which you base your grounds to block her. However, I think an indef block, without a warning, was a bit harsh. This is not an appeal to unblock her, but rather a question: Why was it done so suddenly?

This is an entirely neutral query from an experienced user's standpoint; again, not an appeal for her unblock. But perhaps you should have given her a warning beforehand? —La Pianista (TCS) 03:25, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Considering how much non-encyclopedic contributions she was performing, a warning was not necessary.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:32, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
She has now promised to try to reform. Shall I unblock, or will you? I agree with La Pianista, this block, without warning, was too harsh. Mangojuicetalk 02:28, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Use {{2ndchance}} first.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:34, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Have you checked out this user's mainspace article contributions? [3]. No big article rewrites, but certainly a bunch of Wikignoming. This is an editor of value, as long as she stops using WP as Myspace. I'm going to take that as a satisfactory answer to any {{2ndchance}} I would leave, and just unblock. Mangojuicetalk 02:58, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Have you checked out the deleted contributions? The mainspace contribs constituted less than 10% of her edits until I deleted most of them.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I saw them. So what? No one ever talked to her about them before your block. Now she has agreed to stop. What more can we ask? {{2ndchance}} is meant for people who vandalize without ever making good edits, as a response in a frequently occuring awkward situation. This user, on the other hand, has made several dozen productive edits. So there's nothing to determine, which is why I unblocked. Mangojuicetalk 03:50, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
After considering and publicly announcing my retirement, I have decided against it and I am returning as a WikiGnome. I have not been following standard Wikipedia protocol, but I did nothing wrong intentionally and what you did was harsh and unfair. I thank all my friends and Mangojuice for all their support. Sorry about that I was trying help I hope you understand about that. I was trying to point the genders of the yellow and blue rangers. Also about Dominic from Jungle Fury his last name is confirmed on the offical disney press release site.

did you know?

Me and NegativeDarkEnergyChip(paerson in bioniclepedia) guy are studying about dark kiva. Did you even watch the episode? King appeared and he may transform into dark kiva. Okay i'm not saying anything more. But i request a dark kiva article, even if i get blocked.

Negabandit86 (talk) 22:58, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

That was the King of the Checkmate Four. He is not Dark Kiva (yet). I have not had a chance to watch the episode, but I do know he only showed up in the last 2 minutes.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:07, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Like Ryulong said, King's profile has already been added, along with the references of "Dark Kiva". But #37 may be the 1986 debut of Kiva, after which airing more info should be added. Fractyl (talk) 23:37, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Kiva 37 Title

Well the title doesn't match, as the episode deals with King intent on the "execution" of the one who steals his love (both times), much a "more" liternal term for Kiru is "to kill with a blade", how about "King's Beheading"? Fractyl (talk) 01:14, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

The article "ga" is the issue. It does not fit your change to the translation.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:20, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
That depends on the "Ga", I'm going for ga (, high, majestic) Here are other "Ga" meanings. But the first entry could be likely, but if you're right that the title mean relates only to the "present Kiva". Fractyl (talk) 01:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
No. This is like the words "the," "a," "an," or "of," in English. It's to be used in context. The first definition on that page is the one being used here as it's between a noun and a verb (kingu ga kiru).—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:56, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Than wouldn't "King and Execution" work? Fractyl (talk) 03:08, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
No. the ga shows that the verb is happening to the noun. "Behead the King" is a perfect translation.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Why not "The King Beheads" then? I checked it out and it works Fractyl (talk) 15:11, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

User ban review

Hey,

Atari2600a contacted me regarding their ban of '2007-07-14T20:29:06'. There is no doubt that the ban was justified, but seeing that a year has passed, and I have done my best to educate this user in re. proper conduct on Wikipedia, and received their affirmation that their future conduct will reflect a higher standard of netiquette, I'd like them to have a 2nd chance.

Editing Wikipedia is a learning/growing experience for many, and the community benefits from their input, eventually. Nothing can be broken that can't be fixed.

As a courtesy, I'm bringing this to you as the blocking admin. I request that you review this block, and ideally take appropriate action to provisionally restore their ability to participate positively in the Wikipedia community.

Thanks for your time in reviewing this.

Warm Regards,

Shinkenger

As the "confirmed" 2009 Super Sentai instalment is said to be a rumour, here is what I found in the Super Sentai article: "The name "侍戦隊シンケンジャー" was registered for a copyright in late July 2008 by Toei, Ltd. The name is listed as both read as "サムライセンタイシンケンジャー" and "ジセンタイシンケンジャー" in the copyright."

I wasn't sure if I should delete that as it's still a rumour, even though it's stated that Toei had more or less confirmed it. What do you make of this? --Burai (talk) 10:20, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm no Ryulong, but both it and KR Decade should stay up at the moment until Toei says otherwise. Fractyl (talk) 15:13, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
I added the Japanese titles of both Decade and Shinkenger to the articles as that is all the information we have at the moment. No article can be made on these things till December at the earliest. That's why the reference to the titles stay but articles on them do not.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 17:35, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Why December? The articles on Gekiranger and Go-onger were both made in the month of November. I'm not saying hurry up and make them. Just wondering. —Mythdon (talkcontribs) 18:11, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Go-onger and Kiva were made in November also. And besides, I personally find "Kamen Rider Decade" a bit awkward but we'll find out if that's the confirmed name or if Toei will change it. That's the same thing that happened with Den-O when it was originally to be "Kamen Rider Tau". --Burai (talk) 18:23, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
There's no copyright for "Tau" but there was one for "Den-O" just like there was one for "Kiva" and there is one for "Dikeido/DECADE." I said "December" because that's at least one month before premiere. I can't remember when the toy listings for Kiva and Go-onger came out last year, but once news articles and stuff in Hyper Hobby, Figure-Oh, Terebi-kun, and other magazines show up, we'll have articles on the series.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 18:28, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure the toy listings of Kiva and Go-onger came November last year, around the time their articles were first created. --Burai (talk) 10:04, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Then we'll wait till then.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 20:07, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

IP block

Why have you blocked my IP address? Rincewind32 (talk) 18:41, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

If you're editing now, there's no problem, is there?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:23, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

A connection?

Awhile back, I noticed an editor (User:ㄏㄨㄤㄉㄧ) with poor English making some improper edits to China-related articles (example), but before I pursued anything he ended up getting blocked for a number of reasons. He had a very large user page with tons of China-related links and many references to Chinese gentry, nobility, empire, &c.

According to All logs, his big page was deleted by you ([4]), so unfortunately I cannot refer to it for a comparison.

You see, I just noticed a user, User:Count Dooku of Serenno, who likewise bears a long page filled with similar material related to China. His early contributions seem very confident. There may also be a Star Wars connection between the new user and the Uncyclopedia page for the blocked user ([5]).

Could you possibly get the old page back, or take a look at it somehow, to confirm the comparison? The similarity of the two users seems very fishy. I'd be thankful if you'd share with me anything you figure out. Chedorlaomer (talk) 21:29, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

It's a direct match.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:44, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

I see you've made a revert there. Have you noticed there seems to be a slow-boil edit war going on? I asked for an outline of views at the article talk and at James of Smith talk page (the only named editor I could see at the time). No response either place, it seems there is a POV-war happening. Any ideas on how to get it resolved? Franamax (talk) 01:01, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Banned user, see directly above.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:21, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that's one of the "new" faces. Does that account completely for the IP's opposing James of Smith? JoS looks to me like an account created to autoconfirm over any semiprotection. I'm troubled by their absolute failure to engage in any communication on talk pages, I haven't investigated the issues (which I'm not familiar with anyway), but they may be part of the problem too. If you could look into the history beyond the banned user, that might be helpful. Let me know if I can help with any technical research. Regards! Franamax (talk) 01:54, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
I am not looking at content, but the contributor. I am not getting involved in any edit wars other than to deal with banned users.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:10, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Dark Kiva, week 2

Dark Kiva is appearing at episode 38 of Kamen Rider Kiva. If he appears, can I be the first one to createe the article and Fractyl and helping me edit it?

We will see.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 00:12, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay, do you think I forgot? Besides October 19 is wher kamen rider dark kiv a appears. And who putted the king section in list of kamen rider kiva characters section? Negabandit86 (talk) 20:12, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
The King of the Checkmate Four is a character who has appeared in the show. Dark Kiva is not, yet.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 20:22, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

I think I found a something. The episode came out at Japan but not here, because Asia is always a day ahead of us, right?

Negabandit86 (talk) 23:52, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Kiva 37 aired half an hour ago. Kiva 38's preview has no sign of Dark Kiva. Go do something else.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 00:00, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Actually it was at the end of preview we ge two image shots of King as Kiva. Fractyl (talk) 04:47, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
There's no mention of him at all in any textual preview.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:56, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
No text, but there is the images of him as Kiva and his mentioning the name of his partner. Besides, since 1986 Kiva has actually appeared in the promo. It's pointless not to add that info as of that moment. Fractyl (talk) 09:53, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I've reduced the block on this user to 48 hours. When I was looking into things, it seemed like a block was in order, however certainly not an indefinite one, and certainly not one placed by an administrator who was clearly involved in the dispute. Next time something like this happens, please post at WP:ANI to get another administrator to look into things. I know you're experienced enough to know when you're too into things to make a clear judgement. I'm not going to take this to ANI to spare us both massive dramaz, but please keep an eye on yourself in the future. This is the sort of thing that makes the three-page-long ANI reports, and we all hate those. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:12, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

I had warned this user multiple times concerning his edits, and frankly he did not understand anything about what I said. This was the last straw for me. He does not edit constructively at all, and he did not understand any of my warnings and requests to him.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:18, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Then you needed to have contacted a uninvolved administrator or started a ANI thread. Tiptoety talk 04:24, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
ANI is a black hole these days.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:26, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Even if ANI is indeed a block hole, it does not justify a involved administrator handing out a indef block to a user whom they have a disagreement with. Even if you had to email another admin to request they take action would be a better course to take. Tiptoety talk 04:49, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Black hole. And this was not a disagreement. It was application of policy.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:55, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
I know you gave him several warnings, but from what I saw they didn't completely understand what you were warning them about, and you weren't exactly helping to explain it. I agree ANI does at times get a bit nasty, but generally the sanity-check type threads wrap up rather nicely and quickly with positive feedback. Not liking to do something that needs to be done isn't an excuse - that's why we're administrators. Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:46, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
I explained it many times to him. He just blanked his talk page at one point and seemed to ignore all of my explanations. I clearly warned him that if he continued with his activities, he'd be blocked, and I cannot find any constructive edits from him.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:49, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
