Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 01:16, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Tyra Trent
[edit]Hello, Roundish. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Tyra Trent".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 21:09, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Removed content from "Glycan" page.
[edit]Hey Roundish. I removed the sentence I have previsouly added because that is my own work and I did not want it to look like I am promoting myself.
If you think that is a valuable information, I would appreciate if you added it instead. Zvmlinaric (talk) 23:14, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
- Here on Wikipedia it doesn't really matter if it was your own work, it was published and can be considered a reliable source. If it's your own work and you're using it to POV-push then it's an issue, but it looks okay!
- This is an interesting case for the policy on no original research, but you're in the clear, because you added a reliable citation, again, doesn't matter if it was your work in there. --Roundish ⋆tc) 23:21, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
talk page
[edit]Just saw the message you left on out talk page. It's a shared IP address by thousands of university students. Are you able to put an appropriate template at the top of the talk page informing other users? I also recommend a temporary block in June and July when we host teen summer camps. There's been persistent vandalism in the past during these times. 204.78.15.9 (talk) 16:06, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- Judging by the past contributions, I think an annual block is too much trouble, but I did place the template. If you could tell me the name of the university/host as well, that would be much appreciated! --Roundish ⋆tc) 23:54, 9 November 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove scientific content on perceived policy slights. Such content is rare, and instead of removing, try and help to consolidate it. 2A01:C23:8432:7300:426:16D4:F6F8:8124 (talk) 21:17, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- I was not "removing scientific content". You deleted citations and I added them back.
- I'll leave it alone, but you need to add something that verifies the text if you disagree with the previous citations. --Roundish ⋆tc) 21:20, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- Read the text that accompanied the edit... just because something has citations, it doesn't mean that what it says makes sense. The previous text was confabulating two separate things (optimizing the reconstruction error in the sense of the KL-divergence... these are two terms in the same equation that are jointly optimized. There is no "in the sense of the KL-divergnce", there is figure the damn expectation values and why the reparameterization trick has a reason to exist) and instead of citing the original work by Kingma & Welling it was citing two derivative works and a subsequent "tutorial" paper. The entire section was bullshit, from start to finish.
Of course, variational autoencoders are far from trivial, and you can be forgiven for not understanding. But that's also why you should be more careful with removing things. If a citation was what you wanted, you could add a [citation needed] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:C23:8432:7300:426:16D4:F6F8:8124 (talk) 21:49, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

Moved this Article into mainspace Draft:Sari Katha
[edit]I request to you that moved to mainspace on Wikipedia.it is Originally Santals were hunter-gatherers and known for clearing forests for agriculture. Presently they are mostly farmers. For centuries, Santals have been living as neighbours of other communities maintaining a cultural and social distance. The Santals are regarded as one of the economically poor communities of India. They are known to be simple, honest, peace-loving, jovial in character, fond of their rice-beer and ready to crack a joke. They are also regarded as slow and lethargic people, reluctant to accept new ideas and changes. They are said to suffer from an inferiority complex. These are some of the broad ethnographic impressions that are prevalent about the Santals. Golmala (talk) 14:10, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
- Golmala, I am unfortunately not the person you should be asking, but if you like, I can help you improve it! :)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently been editing articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hi Roundish, please have a look at the "Restoring deleted content" section of the biographies of living persons policy. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 03:48, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- OK. Are you directing me to this because there is a current issue, or just to let me know? I'm assuming I am in the wrong here. --Roundish ⋆tc) 03:52, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- You may be. I didn't thoroughly check all claims, but the concerns seem genuine:
- A YouTube video was used as a source for a negative statement about the family, without any explanation about how this is relevant enough for a separate section in an article about her specifically.
- messages.miami.edu was used as a citation for a sentence that lacks neutrality and doesn't contain the information.
- The word "opinion" is part of two references' URLs.
- So even if all the claims turn out to be verifiable somehow, removing them for now is probably a good idea; it's at very least not vandalism. Sadly, it was treated as vandalism by multiple users (not you, no worries) and led to a report at WP:AIV. That's how I noticed the situation, and that's why I sent everyone involved the same reminder. Of all people who have dealt with Cosmicgrl's edits, I think yours caused the least concern, as you have at least provided an understandable reason for your revert. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 04:22, 26 February 2023 (UTC)

And a quick google of Ukiah Haiku will yield a mountain of businesses, groups, and events geared toward the theme. Whether I edited it incorrectly or not, it is worth mentioning in the header- It's not an insignificant factor in the communities identity. +rollback
[edit]Hi Roundish,
After reviewing your request, I have added your account to the rollback group. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Users should be informed (or warned) after their edits have been reverted. If warnings repeatedly don't help, WP:ANI is the default place to go. In cases of very clear ongoing intentional damage to the encyclopedia, WP:AIV can be used.
- Reverting someone's edits may confuse or upset them. Whenever other users message you on your talk page, please take the time to respond to their concerns; accountability is important. For most users who message you, the tone and quality of your answer will permanently influence their opinion about Wikipedia in general.
- Because the plain default rollback link does not provide any explanatory edit summary, it must not be used to revert good faith contributions, even if these contributions are disruptive. Take the time to write a proper summary whenever you're dealing with a lack of neutrality or verifiability; a short explanation like "
[[WP:NPOV|not neutral]]
" or "[[WP:INTREF|Please provide a citation]]
" is helpful. - Rollback may never be used to edit war, which you'll notice to be surprisingly tempting in genuine content disputes. Please especially keep the three-revert rule in mind. If you see others edit warring, please file a report at WP:ANEW. The most helpful essay I've ever seen is WP:DISCFAIL; it is especially important for those who review content regularly.
- If you encounter private information or threats of physical harm during your patrols, please quickly use Special:EmailUser/Oversight or Special:EmailUser/Emergency; ideally bookmark these pages now. See WP:OS and WP:EMERGENCY for details. If you're regularly patrolling recent changes, you will need both contacts sooner or later, and you'll be happy about the bookmarks.
- Use common sense.
To try rollback for the first time, you may like to make an edit to WP:Sandbox, and another one, and another one, and then revert the row with one click. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about rollback. Thank you for your time and work in cleaning up Wikipedia. Happy editing!
Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:11, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

Signature
[edit]Hi Roundish--please do me (us) a favor, and adjust the colors in your signature. I didn't even see there was a "c" in there: there is not enough contrast, in terms of color and brightness. Please see WP:SIGAPP--it's an accessibility issue, for users with impaired vision. There's much useful information at MOS:COLOR. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 14:54, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Drmies: What if that was intentional, and my c is kind of an easter egg? Not allowed? I'm fully willing to adjust it if that's the case. Roundish ⋆tc) 14:56, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hmm well the problem is accessibility, yes--if you read the lead of Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility you'll see how important that is. What I mean is, we HAVE to follow the non-discrimination resolution. But it's not just the "c": without actually checking with the color/contrast tools, it seems to me that the "t" is not different enough from the background, and the white letters of your name, while there's plenty of contrast, are a bit thin and thus hard to read. In all these cases, I think the thing is to imagine what something might look like to someone who isn't you. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 17:36, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- Alright. I didn't change the color of the t, as WhoCanUse scored me with a 9.44:1 and a triple A for everything except sunshine, which will likely cause visual problems regardless; but I bolded my username into distinction. The c is gone, the wikilink moved to my star.

- Hi @Centuries95:
- If you want to make an article, you need to create a draft first. For example, clicking the red link Draft:Example1 and typing in whatever, then pressing publish, will create a draft. (please do not actually do this with the red link above)
- This page will help you, since there is a handy draft creator right there. Happy editing! (Roundish ⋆t) 12:34, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

Request not to revert vandalism
[edit]Regarding your edit summary here, while you can make such an idiosyncratic and counterintuitive request, it will not be seen by the majority of people reverting vandal edits as they will be reverting from the vandal's contributions page or their recent changes script/filter of choice.-- Ponyobons mots 22:58, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Ack, you're right. I suppose I can't well make it show up on Huggle, but I was working on an edit notice when you messaged me. Those do show up when reverting someone manually, right? (Roundish ⋆t) 23:01, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- The only way it is seen now is if one were to read the notices at the top of your page before editing the page itself. So you would have to spot the vandalism, come to your talk page and read your edit notice (by which time someone else on vandal patrol would probably have already rolled back the vandalism).-- Ponyobons mots 23:07, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

Lolita Fashion
[edit]Hi, I've tried fixing the lolita fashion wikipedia page to be correct about the origin of the fashion style's name, but it's been reverted twice. I am part of the lolita community and I cited my source on the second edit, why won't it be accepted? The style has nothing to do with the novel by the same name, and its an ongoing struggle to explain that to people. 70.83.141.17 (talk) 21:11, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- You are removing vast amounts of sourced content. Also, this is a very doubtful source. (Roundish ⋆t) 21:14, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- all the sourced content was about the novel, which is unrelated to the fashion itself. I'm not sure what source is good enough, if the word of people who are actively part of the community isn't. If you won't let it be fixed, there's nothing I can do though. I'll just have to keep correcting the misinformation that wikipedia is encouraging in real life, I guess. 70.83.141.17 (talk) 21:16, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- What exactly is your issue with the novel? If the term only appeared after the publication of the novel, it is relevant indeed. (Roundish ⋆t) 21:18, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- The term lolita in reference to the fashion style showed up in Japan unrelated to the novel, and the novel itself is not relevant to the fashion. This is explained in the video linked, and anyone involved in the community will tell you the same thing. I picked the most to the point source explaining it, but there's a LOT of articles and videos about how the fashion has nothing to do with the novel. 70.83.141.17 (talk) 21:23, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- You may add these articles and videos to prove your point if you like. Your past edits were reverted because you removed good sources and much content and replaced it with a YouTube video, so keep in mind that removing so much content without supporting your edits will probably get you reverted. (Roundish ⋆t) 22:01, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'd rather not spend my time fighting to find good enough sources - the lolita community will have to just stick with continuously explaining that the fashion is not a fetish related to the novel, as per usual. Thanks for your time, I won't bother correcting articles in the future. 70.83.141.17 (talk) 22:32, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

Intersex
[edit]Your insistence on using the term “sex assignment” is false and misleading, as nobody is “assigned” a sex but they acquire one at the time of fertilisation. I was not “assigned” a sex at birth, which implies I could have rejected it or chosen an alternative. At best, if not already determined by scans, my sex was simply identified at the time of my birth having previously been set at the time of fertilisation. Those individuals who may have mixed genitalia, do so because the standard foetus development was interrupted in the same way, for example, for those who suffer from Phocomelia. They weren’t assigned malformed limbs anymore than those who suffer from a disorder of sex development. 86.189.234.69 (talk) 06:34, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
- I regret to inform you I cannot help you, you will need to take it up at Talk:Intersex. I am inexperienced in this field, and all I am aware of this that your edit changed the text into something non-understandable.
At birth the sex of a child usually aligns with their anatomical sex
imparts no meaning to the reader. You have also complained at User talk:Des Vallee, but I doubt they are any more experienced. (Roundish ⋆t) 12:15, 21 June 2023 (UTC)- Not being familiar with Wikipedia edits, and to help clarify what may be a misunderstanding on my part, did you or did you not revert the change? And if you did, what is it you don't understand? The sex of a child at birth is determined by their genitalia, i.e. their phenotype. That is to say if it has a penis it's a male, if it has a vagina it is a female. Those occasions where the genitalia may be malformed could be described as intersex. The use of the term "sex assignment" is also non-understandable as an individual's sex is not assigned, i.e. given, to them it is a product of fertilisation.
- With regards to Des Vallee I have raised the issue with them as, if I am reading things right, they reverted the original edit; which you then subsequently also undid. As I say, I may be misunderstanding what Wiki is reporting due to unfamiliar with the edit process. 86.189.234.69 (talk) 15:55, 21 June 2023 (UTC)

in a way synonymous with sex assignment instead of anatomical sex. My grasp of Wikipedia policy is such that I can reasonably say that you will not get anywhere by calling the term "sex assignment" misleading, due to the fact Wikipedia uses information only from references, and not from common sense. (Roundish ⋆t) 20:02, 21 June 2023 (UTC) - (talk page stalker) I suspect this discussion is stale and that no-one cares anymore, but it appears there's some confusion here between sex and gender (which are not the same thing, sex = physical, gender=societal/cultural/psychological) Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 18:40, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Roundish. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Hi Roundish - > I wanted to point out the fact and not beautify the result of war victims of Koreans. Japan, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, invaded Korea and their original goal was to invade China as well. Then at the time China and Korea allied to push down the Japan back to south of Korea. About 5~6 years later, Japan prepare another invasion, but this time the goal is changed. Now to capture koreans and their resources. I am only telling you the fact based on historical records. When Japan around 159X years, captured koreans and sold them on the slavery market, the price of slaves in Europe dropped to 1/6 of price because of surge in supplies. AND Toyotomi Hideyoshi sent hand-written letter (you can search this up it is still preserved) to make sure to capture the artisans, because Japan had no technologies of making ceramics. There were two big reasons, One Japan had no technologies how to make the temperature of ceramic ovens to 1500 degree celcius, they only could make it up to 1000 degree celcius. Secondly, they don't know what were the ingredients to make those white ceramics, it is called (Ja-Gee)'자기' and this was favorite dishes of Hideyoshi and he had to import with high cost. Additionally they didn't know how to coat the ceramics before they put it into the oven to prevent the break over high heat. They had 0 idea how to make them, and they wanted of Korean artisans and that was one of the main goal when they invaded second time around 1597. Also they stole 8 years of resources that Koreans were using to make the porcelain. I just wanted to point out that Yi Sam Pyeong did not move to Japan by his own will, but from Japan's war hostage, and captured to work for Japan from Korea. It was no where his will, along with all the other koreans that were captured but didn't have techniques were sold to slave market to Europe / India / North Africa. You can't lie about history on the internet by covering all the historical facts, and beautify their invasion and war crimes. I didn't even put any of this details, but you need to mention that he was captured during the invasion, and he weren't sent to slave market only because he knew how to make porcelain and with 8 years of resources of Korean's porcelain he was forced to make in Japan and that is how Kyushu area of Japan is now world-class porcelain place. 2600:1700:7CCF:4000:15D:A739:C871:E93C (talk) 00:02, 22 June 2023 (UTC) Hanjo108 (talk) 00:13, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Hanjo108: Hi. Claiming that Japanese "stole" pottery design from Koreans is still not very neutral. As you can read about here, neutrality is important for Wikipedia. Mentioning the context that the Japanese did not have this technology prior to invasion and copied it would be alright, however. I assume you made this edit, and have created an account? Most recently an easily verifiable source on Aror was falsely tagged with Template:Failed verification as a mark of vandalism by Anuj Choudhary Ror. Nirmohiji (talk) 08:21, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

the Arora people left Sind and settled in Punjab cities, situated on the banks of the rivers Jhelum, Chenab and Ravi.
does not mention the Arora people settling in Aror, so this one source is indeed a failed verification, that is a fair hit. However there are multiple sources verifying that, so this seems like a non-issue. @Anuj Choudhary Ror: I need you to plainly explain what you are trying to do, because I don't see any evidence Nirmohiji is trying to prove that Arora is a place. Also, what connection do you have to Rudradaman127? You are making the same disruptive edits, example [6] and [7]. --(Roundish ⋆t) 14:12, 27 June 2023 (UTC)- Hi @[[User:Roundish|Roundish]. How do I post something on Wikipedia? --Sirfry (talk) 20:16, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Sirfry: hey, I was on vacation, sorry. I am your mentor. If you want to make an article, I recommend you create a draft first, but if you want to write the article straight away, clicking a red link Example1 and typing in your article, then pressing publish, will create a draft. (please do not actually do this with the red link above.) This page should help you, as there is a convenient draft creator. Does this answer your question? (Roundish ⋆t) 19:21, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

Invitation
[edit]Hello Roundish!
- The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
- We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
- Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
- If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.
Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Question from Eazy horse (11:25, 2 August 2023)
[edit]I want to start a wiki page for Rapper Luck Kennedy --Eazy horse (talk) 11:25, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Eazy horse: Before writing the article, you should start a draft. This page should help you, as there is a convenient draft creator. There should be a notice in the draft to submit what you wrote when you are ready, let me know if you have trouble with that. Make sure to read about whether your musician is notable; the page WP:BAND should help you out, please read it. (Roundish ⋆t) 00:10, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
AntiVandal use
[edit]Hi Roundish! I noticed you've been using AntiVandal, but came across a couple of reverts that were a misuse of the tool:
- This revert needs an edit summary. Though it may appear that the edit is vandalism because of its obscene content, notice that you restored a version that also claims (correctly!) that Joan defecates in a church. This is probably why ClueBot didn't revert on sight. The revert reason would be that it has worse grammar/readability or, if you'd seen the episode, the one small part that is wrong (Joan doesn't eat poo).
- This revert is wrong. The grammar is not great (cf MOS:CONTRACT) but this is a reason to rewrite, not remove.
- This revert is unclear to me without an edit summary. Though poorly formatted, a minute of research will show that this edit refers to Cop Car Workshop, where Mackenzie doesn't seem to be credited in IMDb. A revert on the grounds of verifiability might be acceptable, but it's also possible this is encyclopedic content.
AntiVandal is for cases that need human oversight, not ones that are so obvious that ClueBot can step in. Please make sure you are assessing these edits in context and explain any edits that would be unclear to a neutral observer. — Bilorv (talk) 17:23, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Bilorv: Valid points, thanks for the feedback:
- While probably the revert needed an edit summary, this is not an improvement for tone issues and a factual error. I didn't revert because of obscene content. I fully intended to restore the old version.
- [8] looks like a personal attack, and I didn't realize that this is a fictional character.
. . . assessing these edits in context
is very apt criticism, and I will take it gladly. - [9] was literally 4 broken words with an unclear edit summary. I did in fact find the IMDb a few seconds after reverting, and did not take the course of action to continue to research after finding no credits.
- I must confess that I don't entirely understand what you mean by
cases that need human oversight, not ones . . . that ClueBot can step in
, ClueBot is meant for reverting obvious vandalism, and many users will edit-conflict with ClueBot while using tools. I will take what you have pointed out about my edit-summary usage into account. (Roundish ⋆t) 17:48, 11 August 2023 (UTC)- Thanks for taking this on board, Roundish. On the ClueBot point: when I was into anti-vandalism (mostly STiki), the queues I used were populated from edits that the ClueBot algorithm had flagged as potentially vandalism but with too low a confidence to revert automatically. (ClueBot has some adjustable false positive sensitivity.) Some anti-vandal editors on some tools/queues may beat ClueBot to the punch, but it is there for the reverts so obvious they don't need human oversight. — Bilorv (talk) 19:53, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- Ah. Thanks for the clarity. (Roundish ⋆t) 20:06, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

Vandalism warning
[edit]Hey there! Great to see you on RC Patrol! A few minutes ago, you warned a user about vandalizing a page. The "88" at the end of their username is a not-very-veiled reference to "Heil Hitler." So when an account with a name like that is dropping anti-Semetic rhetoric into articles, there's no reason to go through the whole "Assume good faith, don't bite the newbies" set of warnings. Drop a note at WP:AIV so they'll get blocked immediately.
Happy patrolling! Joyous! Noise! 22:18, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

Sans souci
[edit]Please let me know how my edit to the Sans page counted as vandalism. I don't see how it's particularly wrong to state the character of Sans from Undertale, is sans souci. Maryonya (talk) 14:55, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Sans souci is French, and it's rather unclear what that means. "Laid back" is clearer for English speakers. Additionally, I see that you have been reverted for this before. (Roundish ✡t) 14:59, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- That edit was clearly a joke edit/vandalism. This account is WP:NOTHERE as it has made unsourced changes, disruptive edits, a joke edit, and another one here. The Night Watch (talk) 19:55, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

November 2023
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into DelaDap. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:46, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Justlettersandnumbers: yeah, I know, but I was the only contributor to the draft. Is this strictly necessary? (Roundish ✡t) 19:31, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- Well, Roundish, in a way no, not really – it's more a matter of sticking to best practice. Actually you were not the only contributor, though the other edits were fairly minor – see Special:History/DelaDap. Reversing your question slightly: what stopped you from moving the page to its final title in the ordinary way? Was the cut-and-paste really necessary? Just my opinion, but the clearer the record of your edits, the easier it is for someone to follow later. In this case there were a lot of page moves and a cut-and-paste, none of which made the record clearer. And by the way, a redirect from draft space after a move to mainspace should not be deleted, per WP:RDRAFT. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:00, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Thanks. (Roundish ✡t) 22:43, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
