PIN and TW
Hi Rosie, I am participating in the Women in Red translation contest. The problem is that I have copied and pasted to add my latest articles and I realized that in some of them it says "PIN" and "TW" and I don't know what it means. I saw that yesterday you added 5 "TW", please, could you check my last articles and see if that "PIN" AND "TW" is right? Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you very much. Dandilero (talk) 12:54, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Dandilero, done. I removed "PIN" (photo of the subject added to Pinterest) and "TW" (the article has been mentioned on Twitter) from your last entry. By the way, thanks for all the translations you've been doing! Awesome! --Rosiestep (talk) 13:13, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help and sorry to bother you, I will try to create a couple more articles today. Dandilero (talk) 14:00, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- No bother, Dandilero. Glad to help anytime. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:07, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
I know we have someone who works in Finland and I would love, love, love if they might help us get a photo of Nenola, but I cannot remember who that is. Can you help? SusunW (talk) 14:01, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, SusunW. It's Yupik... ping! --Rosiestep (talk) 14:07, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- I was pretty sure you would know. Thank you! SusunW (talk) 14:10, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hei! The only ones I could find with a quick search couldn't be used unfortunately. I'll see what I can find when I'm back in Finland :) -Yupik (talk) 14:16, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Yay! Thank you Yupik SusunW (talk) 14:44, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

- In the meantime, SusunW, I've added an external link with a photo. I frequently do this as an easy way out with BLPs. Yupik might still be able to come up with something. He always does his best to help us out.--Ipigott (talk) 10:41, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks Ipigott! I never thought of that. SusunW (talk) 12:58, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry I'm just getting back to you now. I didn't manage to find any pics that we could use. Thanks Ipigott for adding in the external photo link! -Yupik (talk) 00:54, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

memories: two people on DYK, both connected to Oper Frankfurt, and don't miss yesterday's video of Pink Floyd given to me! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:00, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, Gerda Arendt! I especially enjoy the new photos of flowers. --Rosiestep (talk) 19:08, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
- As soon as Meneerke bloem told me the blue ones are called glories-of-the-snow they were almost buried in snow. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:14, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Main Page history/2022 April 13: the TFA is hard to overlook, but there are also peace prayers, a soprano and a theatre manager, - if you don't find them try here - white cherry blossom now --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:48, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
- Gerda Arendt, the white cherry blossoms are lovely; just what I need today. --Rosiestep (talk) 23:47, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

Tetiana Yakovenko
Hi! Please bring the urls over from the Ukrainian wiki too for the Sources section. This is not "sourcing". You are referencing websites, without linking to the exact pages where the content is. It's really not that difficult to open the section on ukwiki and copy the links. Cheers Xia talk to me 07:16, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Xia. Thanks for stopping by. I intended to bring over all the urls from the Sources section of uk:Яковенко Тетяна Василівна to Tetiana Yakovenko. Now I see that there were 3 and I only brought over 2. Sorry for missing the 3rd one; I've added it now. P.S. There are a lot of wikilinks in the Sources section of the UK-WP article and I'll see about adding them to the EN-WP Sources section, too. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:04, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
DYK nomination of Church of All Saints, Houghton Regis
Hello! Your submission of Church of All Saints, Houghton Regis at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) at your nomination's entry and respond there at your earliest convenience. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Bruxton (talk) 23:31, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for all the work you've done on this one, @7&6=thirteen:. It's really heartening to see this article, which Dr. Blofeld and I did a bit of work on more than a decade ago, has been expanded and improved to such an extent. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:08, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- I thought it was good to fix it up, and share the credit for a job well done. I think I came to the page via a posting (maybe an AFD) on Dr. B's talk pge. Dr. Blofeld was an inspiration; Wikipedia is diminished by his retirement. All things must end. Entropy is the nature of all universes.
- And getting it on the main page after an AFD is very satisfying for me. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 16:14, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- @7&6=thirteen: indeed... getting it on the main page after an AFD is awesome! I, too, am missing Dr. B.; very much. We collaborated for a long a time; sweet memories. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:21, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- I've done that quite a bit. Documented at the archive of the WP:ARS talk page. And I've endured enmity from some of our esteemed editors as a result; article improvement is not universally harkened. Oh well. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 16:33, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- 7&6=thirteen: Well I see that Dr. Blofeld is still active enough to award you a barnstar for your efforts. It's a great pity to see that his talk page is plastered with so many calls for deletion. It was mainly thanks to him that I became so active on Wikipedia and that I later met up with you, Rosie.--Ipigott (talk) 09:45, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
- Ipigott, yes; a long time ago now. If I remember right, we first worked together on some Denmark-topic articles? --Rosiestep (talk) 11:28, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
- Very kind words from you all. Thanks for everything you've both done too! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:35, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

- Credit where credit is due, I too met each of you through Doc. I am absolutely positive that if he and Montanabw had not found me, mentored me, and sheltered me when I first started on WP, I would have been gone with the wind. They gave me space to learn and taught me how this crazy system works and introduced me to others who could build my network. I am grateful. SusunW (talk) 13:48, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
- SusunW, #grateful #metoo --Rosiestep (talk) 15:52, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

Goes to show how important it is not to bite the newbies Susun, you never know how valuable an editor will prove to be! If you stick around in this often hostile place for years and remain motivated to consistently produce great content you can't ask for anything more than that! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:03, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
- Many years ago my husband said something I have always found profound. "We are all teachers and students. Always learning from each other. Be careful what you teach, because what someone learns may not be what you intended". IMO, those who bite newbies lack the thoughtfulness required to be actual teachers. I do miss you Doc, but yes, I stay busy. Always someone new to learn about. SusunW (talk) 17:57, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

May songs
I have the quirky DYK today, which is rare, and I don't quite know why music for peace was deemed quirky. - I took and picked the blue-and-yellow pic last year for May. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:21, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt:, I don't understand why the Wallrath biography is considered quirky. Maybe it has something to do with an audience of 30,000, or maybe something else. Anyway, nice article. Also, lovely photo. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:51, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
- ... or a dance company, - anyway, I'm collecting "all positions" for a vanity thing, and perhaps they wanted to please me ;) - more serious tomorrow, just keep watching --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:39, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

- two songs today: Hey Hey Rise Up! (written by friends) and Glauben können wie du, sung by the person I have on DYK today, right below the other. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:59, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

June music
Ukrainian peace music is "on" today, with the conductor! - Pentecost (on last Sunday and Monday in Germany) brought a rich harvest of great music in two church services (one with me singing in choir) and two concerts with my brother in the orchestra, - four pictures I took besides the symphonic one. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:52, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, Gerda Arendt, for these articles! --Rosiestep (talk) 14:05, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you! My song collection is especially rich, look, and the hall where I first heard DFD, Pierre Boulez and Murray Perahia. Do you find the baby deer in the meadow (last row)? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:32, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- today: a song about getting through the night, after plenty of music over the weekend --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:39, 27 June 2022 (UTC)
- That's super. Gerda! Nice article, plus I learned what a Katholikentag is, so thanks for that. I feel fortunate to have had a lot of music this weekend myself. A long-time friend (she went to kindergarten with my younger brother) and her band performed at a local restaurant on Saturday night; my husband played in our county's concert band on Sunday afternoon in the park; and this morning, at our local library's outdoor auditorium, a string trio performed. It's hot here, what you'd expect in the summer, but not too hot to enjoy some music. I'm sticking with "women in music" for a few more days, too. Rosiestep (talk) 22:36, 27 June 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, that sounds lovely! - Ian and I did well on singers, and if you look at my user page, there are many red hearts ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:42, 27 June 2022 (UTC)

Question
Hi Rosie, hope all is well and that it's not too unbearably hot where you are,
Would it be okay if I added my own thesis to WIR's Research section? If so, I will go ahead, but if not, I will ask someone to do it for me. Thanks, best, Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 17:06, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Christine, IMHO, yes, go for it! And again, congratulations! --Rosiestep (talk) 17:10, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks again! Will do so, probably tomorrow. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 23:47, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
