POV tag

[edit]

Read Wikipedia:NPOV_dispute on the proper way of adding a POV tag. The article Policies, activities and history of the Philippines in Spratly Islands is already tagged with {{POV}}. This template is already saying that the neutrality of the WHOLE article is disputed. Also, {{POV}} is not used for sections. {{POV-section}} has that job. However, since the whole article is already tagged with POV, there is no need for that. Estarapapax (talk) 05:34, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

templates on Singapore election

[edit]

I like your work, but the Opposition in Singapore history has been varied -- the Opposition for the 2006 election for example was an informal coalition (composed of a formal coalition and several other parties) -- so there hasn't been a "leader" of the Opposition per se. As such, I'm going to revert the additions to avoid giving people the wrong impression, but don't worry, I'll still work with your edits! The current election template is too rigid to be useful. John Riemann Soong (talk) 18:12, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to create a new template -- I'll put the work you've already done into there, borrow some elements from the existing template but rework them to be more appropriate. John Riemann Soong (talk) 18:28, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what you're talking about - I only did the Template:Singaporean elections, and I don't see how parties are relevant to it. пﮟოьεԻ 57 08:04, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Bruneianpassport.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Bruneianpassport.jpg is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Bruneianpassport.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:TeofistoGuingona.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? ViperSnake151 02:11, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request to move article Philippine constitutional plebiscite, 1973 incomplete

[edit]

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Philippine constitutional plebiscite, 1973 to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 16:54, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Benigno Aquino Sr..jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page United States Senate elections, 2010 has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bblog(?:cu|fa|harbor|mybrain|post|savy|spot|townhall)?\.com\b (links: http://rothenbergpoliticalreport.blogspot.com/2009/01/2010-senate-ratings_24.html). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Australian Senate election, 1970

[edit]

Your edit to Australian Senate election, 1970 was well intentioned, and obviously took a bit of work, so it was a pity it had to be reverted. But it had to be reverted because it wasn't really appropriate - the election was not for the House of Representatives (which chooses the Prime Minister), so the addition of the Infobox didn't really make sense, and parts of it were misleading. I'm letting you know so that you don't waste your time by adding an Infobox to the other Australian Senate election pages. Peter Ballard (talk) 11:42, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]

No, it's a very bad idea. No-one can predict who will be top 3, top 4, top 6 or whatever. If we'd had that box last time round, people would have insisted on Likud, Labour and Kadima being in it, even though in the end, Likud came 4th and Yisrael Beiteinu were a very close 5th. Gil came 7th even though no-one thought they'd cross the threshold, and a party with 7 seats may well be 6th place this time round (so only having the top six now would mean that some like the Green Movement wouldn't be on it, even though they might spring a similar surprise). The only NPOV option is to include all the parties (including the ones that aren't in the Knesset), and it would simply be too big. пﮟოьεԻ 57 11:45, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's unnecessary and not NPOV; for all we know Meretz could overtake Shas. There really is no need for the template on the page. пﮟოьεԻ 57 15:43, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed it again as a NPOV violation - this time you included Meretz - they could be beaten by any party (even those shown as not crossing the threshold in polls) if last time is anything to go by. Also, for people viewing on 800x600 the infobox takes up the entire width of the screen. Very bad idea all round. Please stop re-adding it. пﮟოьεԻ 57 11:48, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Elections on Australian PM infoboxes

[edit]

Please cease re-removing them. I have already said in the previous revert summary that the community already formed consensus it. You do not WP:OWN the page. You also seem to make strange edits to many different countries elections which may be why you do this - but each country is different, each can have their own way of doing things. Please leave things the way they are. Timeshift (talk) 19:18, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2007 election

[edit]

There were debates over whether Rudd was the -elect or the -designate when he came to power. The election infobox however, has never been disputed, as the PM prior to power was Howard, and post-election, was Rudd. -elect or -designate is the temporary name. That does not have any difference over who the PM is post-election, so -elect/-designate is not needed. I suggest you gain consensus for such changes. On a side note, i'm not one to revert genuine contributions, biased/politically motivated edits aside. You however, seem to make some bizarre changes that I do revert, perhaps because you seem to edit political pages all over the world and expect that they should all conform. Well they don't. It seems whenever you make an edit to an Australian page, i'm more often reverting it than leaving it because you're changing something that's already been agreed upon (election links in PM infoboxes) or things that don't make sense (Senate infoboxes, election infobox elect/designate). Perhaps it's best to suggest on talk pages first. Timeshift (talk) 13:25, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Although Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is the party's most high profile member, he is chairman of the advisory board (Ketua Dewan Pembina), not the party chairman (Ketua Umum), the position held by Hadi Utomo. Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. I have nominated Death of Corazon Aquino, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Death of Corazon Aquino. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

File permission problem with File:Ozamiz.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Ozamiz.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bluemask (talk) 11:06, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Muhammedmian Soomro.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Muhammedmian Soomro.jpg.

Thank you. —SpaceFlight89 14:17, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

POV tag on Ali Khamenei

[edit]

Hello, I see you added a POV tag to Ali Khamenei on June 29. There has been a lot of activity on that page since then. Do you still have an issue with the current version? I created a section in talk:Ali_Khamenei where we can discuss specific concerns. Thundermaker (talk) 00:09, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Rizalninoynapoleon! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 97 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Victor Wood - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Jamalul Kiram III - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Notable races

[edit]

There must be a reason why you keep removing those. –Howard the Duck 14:27, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I moved them to the bottom and fixed it under the regions. Rizalninoynapoleon (talk) 14:29, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Jeez. That's why you'd have to use edit summaries, so we'd know what you were doing. I'd be more in favor of keeping it in the top since the tables must maximize the entire length of the screen. –Howard the Duck 14:34, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The races are crowded and as you know there are many notable races for the House, as such it would be better to move to a bigger space. The Results will be on the top as such will be the new status quo Rizalninoynapoleon (talk) 14:36, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There's no problem in prose text text being crowded. I'd actually want more of them there. That's the reason why I placed it there to allow the prose text reach the bottom of the infobox so that the results tables will maximize the entire length of the screen. –Howard the Duck 14:48, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summary

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Japanese House of Councillors election, 2010. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you for uploading File:Taipa Macau stamp.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Mikemoral♪♫ 04:30, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, great work on that article. It's been nominated to appear on the In the news section of the Main Page and I'm almost ready to put it up, but I'd appreciate it if yo clean up those references. Also, {{current event}} is only supposed to be used on very high profile articles that are changed by hundreds of people a day. You might like to comment on the nomination at WP:ITN/C#Picasso when the references have been formatted an I should be able to put it up. :) Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:56, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Party changes

[edit]

Are those changes you are doing before or after the elections? If those are after those would have to be reverted and there'll be a note at the bottom that they switched parties. –Howard the Duck 15:27, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Operation Big Bird. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Please don't add unsourced edits and words like "croonies" to articles. --moreno oso (talk) 10:29, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:46, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you placed a request to edit a semi-protected page on Talk:Benigno Aquino III. That page is not currently semi-protected and even if it was, you should not have been restricted from editing it. If you meant something different in your request please respond either here or on the talk page and I can help direct your request appropriately. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:20, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

edit summaries

[edit]

I noticed this edit in which you removed an image from Black Wednesday. Alas, you provided no edit summary, so it required more work than it should have to determine if the edit was an improvement, which it was. Thanks. A helpful summary for this would have been remove deleted image. Your edit history shows that you have never provided an edit summary. The summaries that do appear are autogenerated.

In the future, please provide a short description of the purpose or rationale for each of your edits to help other editors understand what you are doing. This greatly helps all editors, especially in identifying vandalism, since vandals often provide no explanation. Thanks, —EncMstr (talk) 08:15, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just noticed this when you made an odd revert to {{infobox election}}. I've undone this change until a rationale is provided. Thanks. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 19:32, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
