attribution

[edit]

G'day mate. Thanks for the email, and letting me know what your intentions are regarding that image. I have no desire to receive credit for the content I release into the public domain, my satisfaction is derived from sharing it, albeit in my own peculiar style. However, I think attribution is important for a variety of reasons, a mention of wikimedia and my user name—or a url—should be adequate. Good onya for your work with wildlife, and for being polite and conscientious. cygnis insignis 11:31, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your request. I am happy to share the photo, with the usual attribution of my user name and wikimedia. Good luck with the book. Cgoodwin (talk) 06:16, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Bennetts Tree Kangaroo Kimberley NQld.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:51, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was doing all that when I got the message that the page had been changed, your 'bots' (I assume it is that) are a bit too quick sometimes. Ringpicker (talk) 01:36, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Tony,

You may of course re-use this photograph to your heart's content, but I only re-uploaded it onto Commons (the media repository) back in the day. The author that you should credit is Brian Voon Yee Yap (and the correct credit would be something like "Author:Brian Voon Yee Yap, CC-BY-SA").
