Salmson S4
Salmson S4 DYK. I notice there is a nice GFDL picture on the top of the article. WOuld you want to consider submitting that for the DYK entry too? -- Ohc ¡digame! 03:59, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- I wanted to, but it isn't of the right model mentioned in the hook. Rcsprinter123 (babble) @ 07:48, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- OK. I'm glad I asked... -- Ohc ¡digame! 09:33, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Admin
Excuse me how many total edits do you think it would take for Admin.
How many do you have? — Preceding unsigned comment added by XDraggon (talk • contribs) 20:01, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- It is not how many total edits an editor has, it is how suitable they are for the role and whether they are trustworthy enough for it. A large edit count merely represents experience, but is not a definitive indicator of it (see editcountitis); your small edit count simply represents little experience. Try for instance, creating some articles or working at a backlog. It will take a couple of years of dedication, though. And since you asked, mine is 36,504. Maps
Hello Rcsprinter123,
I very much appreciated your work to create maps for Westchester County communities. May I ask if you could take the time to make a map for the Westchester County article, combining the two existing maps?
Thanks. --ɱ (talk) 20:18, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Ɱ: Something similar to the map I did at Lake County, Indiana#Municipalities , do you mean? Or just to put File:Westchester County New York incorporated and unincorporated areas.svg? Rcsprinter123 (deliver) @ 20:28, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- I suppose the existing File:Westchester Municipalities.PNG map may be useful for the individual communities, but I was wondering if you could take the existing right-half of File:Westchester County New York incorporated and unincorporated areas.svg and merge it with an image like File:Map of USA NY.svg, for a similar effect to the Commons:Category:Maps of Westchester County, New York (style B) maps. --ɱ (talk) 20:35, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- A bit like http://i.imgur.com/oJC5SJB.png ? Rcsprinter123 (lecture) @ 20:45, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Or side-to-side, I suppose. --ɱ (talk) 21:13, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how useful creating this would be. The infobox on Westchester County already shows the county in NY state and NY's location in the US. All this would do is change the white of the state map to beige, but white is the standard for county articles, and beige for the towns within the county. Rcsprinter123 (confer) @ 23:49, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- What I'm considering is a cleaned-up version of this http://i.imgur.com/OwLR4Rv.png for all NY counties, (a map of all states and NY counties), "one step up" from the existing maps of all NY counties and municipalities that you had made. Do you agree that it would be useful for articles of counties in New York? --ɱ (talk) 01:23, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
- I just can't see a practical difference and I think the current arrangement is fine. Rcsprinter123 (babble) @ 14:32, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, I suppose it's fine. Thanks anyway. --ɱ (talk) 15:56, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Dorset button
On 18 February 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Dorset button, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that after the Great Exhibition of 1851, buttons were no longer handmade? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Dorset button. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
