Information icon Hello, I'm Sitush. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Paraiyar, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or an article ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

SpacemanSpiff 17:35, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have again reverted you at Paraiyar. You were adding unsourced information and removing sourced material. Please note the information at WP:V and at WP:CENSORED. - Sitush (talk) 11:06, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And you have just done it again. I doubt that SpacemanSpiff will be impressed. - Sitush (talk) 15:27, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Look, you might think it is a discriminatory word but it is a verifiable statement. Like it or not, the Paraiyar were one of several communities in the region who were slaves and the etymology is correct. We cannot and should not re-write history, which is why I mentioned WP:CENSORED to you earlier.
If you do not self-revert your latest edit then I suspect you will be banned from editing the subject area entirely. - Sitush (talk) 16:01, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This page needs sourcing. 220 of Borg 08:46, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Which you have done, much better. 'Rooster flag' may have been a better title as Cock has other meanings in English.
Consider creating pages as a WP:Draft, that way you can more or less complete it before 'publishing' it. 220 of Borg 09:55, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Nattupura Theivangal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of Idumban

[edit]

Hello RajaRajan Tamilian,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Idumban for deletion, because it's too short to identify the subject of the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. OluwaCurtis »» (talk to me) 15:50, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited S. R. Ramanan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tamil. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for making legal threats or taking legal action. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved.  BethNaught (talk) 20:01, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Way forward

[edit]

Hi RajaRajan, Sorry to see that you have been blocked. You can't make legal threats against people. If you didn't know that, you should say so, admit your mistake and promise not to do it again. Please do so by filing an unblock request. I also notice that you have been getting plenty of warnings on your talk page and you seem to have been ignoring them. That doesn't bode well. If you are given another chance, you should make sure that you learn the Wikipedia policies and abide by them. Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 22:07, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RajaRajan, I will keep my advice to you under this section so that it doesn't get mixed up in the debate.
  • Since you know that making legal threats is prohibited and you did make legal threats, you need to withdraw them unconditionally, and promise never to do it again against any one.
  • You also own an apology to the other user since you did make direct and personal threats.
  • Content disputes are perfectly normal on Wikipedia. You should not blow them out of proportion and start accusing the other users of this, that and other.
  • When dealing with a dispute, you should focus on the issue as much as possible rather than other editors. You really have no idea what their ideas are, and you should not caste aspersions.
  • When you have an issue that you can't figure out how to handle, you can approach for help any other editor that you know, or an administrator, or at WP:Teahouse/questions.
All the best with your appeal! - Kautilya3 (talk) 21:57, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Adding to Kautilya3's recommendations, you're not helping yourself RajaRajan. Generic statements about offensive statements and discrimination are not helpful. If you want to suggest changes to any article, either bring reliable sources to the discussion or show that the current text is not appropriately sourced. Crusades don't work on Wikipedia and giving the impression that you're on one is not going to get you unblocked. --regentspark (comment) 14:51, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I dont know about the policy of legal threat,I didnt did it intentionally but it seems the user AntanO is trying to defame the particular sect of Indian citizens,So I wanted to let him know about the laws available. But the real intention is not a legal threat and now I understood how to approach wikipedia admin in conflict edits and how to resolve them within wikipedia. As I already mentioned the article "Paraiyar" is sensitive since it involves about a particular sect of people. So without knowing wikipedia policy I posted the same to Antano page. Now I know what is right and what is not acceptable in wikipedia (About legal threats).More reason for the disputes can be seen below

Decline reason:

I don't see legal threats being retracted (see: WP:NLT#Conclusion_of_legal_threat). I do see you attacking other editor ad hominem (below), and continuing to cry about "racial discrimination". You have to (a) retract your legal threats, and (b) show us that you understand how to solve content dispute without attacking other editors and making drama. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Extended discussion about racial discrimination, not connected to the reason for blocking
In Ancient india people were divided according to tribes.Around 1500 BCE Aryans Invaded Indian sub-continent and started divide and rule policy. To overcome the majority of Native inhabitants they create caste system and divided the people. So defining some sects of people inferior to some other sects is innappropriate in this modern world. In this world everything has its own viewpoints,Every information can be viewed from different points of perspection. There are many ideologies are there throughout India.Caste system is very much complex in India and there are many view points about it.But major view points are brahminism and anti-brahminism.In India Hindu caste system is attacked first by unorthodox religions such as buddhism and jainism.Later great leaders like Ambedkar,Periyar revealed the ancient glorious history of inherited sons of India. So the status of a caste in society cannot be determined since the view point differs from each and everyon. In south india some castes were notified as criminal tribes and some castes in travancore samasthan were not allowed to wear garments above hip.Now efforts were already taken by the govt of India to uplift the economically and socially weaker sections of society and at present most of the weaker sections became developed. So now describing the old history from only one point will create unnecessary tensions in the society and it is against the spirit of Indian constitution.Defaming one particular community will leads to reverse discrimination and will create enmity between different communities.Especially describing some sects as low in status will create reverse discrimination on Brahmins since it is beleive that they were responsible for the evil caste system in india. It will leads to the disruption of harmony and public order and peace. So please avoid this kind of vandalism as it is against basic human rights. So please be very careful while editing such sensitive informations. Thanks for your understanding.
During my patrol, I have seen the edit war on the page, Paraiyar (See the page history and this user’s talk page.) Therefore, I added the page to my watchlist. Later, I added some reference in order to make the article more stable or bring the users to discussion. But, this user never show any sign of corporation or listen to other user or wiki policy and guidance. Also, this user accused me in several places (eg: AntanO is promoting discrimination, AntanO is promoting discrimination against particular group or section of people) and continues on this "Unblock Appeal" too. These seem no good sign. At this "Unblock Appeal", user tells I wanted to let him know about the laws available, but it is wrong and lie. This is clearly a legal threat as the edit says If you repeat these actions, the same will be bring to the notice of Government of India and the honourable Supreme Court of India. --AntanO 18:43, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Some users are not understanding the sensitiveness of the article "Paraiyar".User User: AntanO is trying to defame one particular sect of people. He is spoiling the true spirit of wikipedia.Wikipedia is a foundation which promotes knowledge and encourages knowledge access to everyone. But wikipedia will not promote hatred and ill-will between groups of people.{User:AntanO} is acting against the concept of equality and promoting the concepts of brahminism. So I wanted to let him know it is not an acceptable behaviour. The thing is not whom side is correct, the thing is we have to prevent discrimination of particular sect of people.Thats why I posted about Indian Penal Code, and no other specific intention. The things happened already is past and what we have to do is to protect the interests of all sections of people. So this article "Paraiyar" should be considered as a sensitive material and utmost care should be taken while editing and exposing informations.I want to mention some differences between scientific facts and historical facts. In science 1+1 is 2 everywhere. If Hydrogen and oxygen mixes in 2:1 ratio water will get produced, nothing other. These are scientific facts and that can be proved, verified. But historical facts such as history of a community differs from scientific fact. Here for example the info about "Paraiyar" is written by people belongs to some other sects, and so the materials written by them cannot be considered as a source material. In these type of concepts different people have different view points and their own perspectives. For example in a town 6 people are living and 4 belongs to team A and 2 belongs to team B.Both team are enemies to each other. So in hatred and ill will the persons in team A is writting a material degrading team B members. For this single reason we cannot consider team B members as low status. The materila written by team A members about team B cannot be taken as a evidence or source or proof.I hope everyone understands this.Because of this reason articles about communities varies from articles about scientific facts. So utmost care should be taken while describing a particular section of people.I hope User: AntanO can understand this.--RajaRajan Tamilian (talk) 19:12, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If he unblocked, we would continue his own propaganda against people by accusation and legal threat. I see it from his accusation and personal attack. BTW, I am not an Asian and promoting any Asian ethnicity. How dare to connect me with Asian group? Let's sysop take proper decision. --AntanO 19:39, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever materials claimed by User: AntanO as a source for considering "Paraiyar" synonym to slave are written by the people of other sects. In Ancient India education was denied to common people and a particular section of society(Brahmins) alone had aceess to education and knowledge. The traditional knowledge and science were kept secret and transformed generation by generation orally and it was limited to only brahmin people. Many cultural evidences were destroyed by the invading aryans(brahmmins) .So in the course of time without proper education and without having profession and livelihood some sections of society were forced to live a life lower than human.During the british rule,in India most of the educated persons were only from Brahmins and they occupied higher positions in government and society. They wrote many materials favourable to them and describing other sects as inferior or low.The same were conveyed to the british scholors and researchers and officials. The british were new to the land and they didnt knew about the original history of India. So they beleived brahmins and written many books and research materials stating that some section of people were considered as inferior. It is not actually true. There are many ideologies exists in India.I am willing to discuss this more.If anyone wants any more information on this topic is welcomed and if needed I am ready to give proofs and evidences about the different Ideologies of India. So before writing information on a sensitive material all view points should be considered and the material should be in neutral tone.It will help us all to access knowledge freely without any disputes. --RajaRajan Tamilian (talk) 19:50, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User: AntanO is having only one reason to block the account, but he is not thinking what he had done already to a particular section of people.Wikipedia is not a right place to fight or to promote their own propoganda. Here everyone has the right to edit any article provided that the information should be true and verifiable. While editing an article disputes may come occasionaly because of different view points, but it should get resolved properly with the help of other reviewers or admins. For this single reason one user is blocked from editing is unacceptable since in future it will prevent free flow of knowledge. In such kind of disputes if one user is blocked and other user is not blocked before coming to solution will hinder the expression of blocked person and it will definitely stop the free flow of knowledge.Users like User: AntanO who is having more previliges and responsibilities than other users should think well before acting on anything.Misuse of wikipedia admin power or special previliges to block someone or prevent free flow of knowledge will destroy completely the true sprit of knowledge tranformation in the course of time.--RajaRajan Tamilian (talk) 20:02, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User: AntanO is claiming that he is not an Asian. But there may be a chance of him being an Srilankan tamilian or possibly Indian. This can be verified by seeing the list of his contributions to wikipedia. He created and edited more articles on South asian topics especially srilankan topics and as well as Indian topics.Only a local person can describe in depth of these kind of south asian topics. Please verify here : https://tools.wmflabs.org/xtools/pages/index.php?user=AntanO&lang=en&wiki=wikipedia&namespace=0&redirects=noredirects
Hello, I see that you seem to be getting a little frustrated with your current situation. I came by to give you a piece of advice for unblocks. Stop talking about the conduct of other users, this will not help you. The best method for a successful unblock request, in this case, would be to talk about yourself. You need to demonstrate that you understand why you were blocked, and pledge to not make the same mistake again. Remember, you are not blocked for their behavior, but for your's. BTW, your current rationale in your unblock request works, but your comments afterward are not as helpful. Going forward, it may be a good idea to try and avoid a possible interactions with said user. Good luck -- The Voidwalker Discuss 21:26, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't like response to this user as he/she goes out of ring and it is not necessary. But, it seems he/she is WP:NOTHERE and WP:SPA and suggest to "hard block" since the user repeated invalid or offensive unblock requests. --AntanO 04:49, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing conains offensive in Unblock request. The discussions are done outside the unblock request. If this seems to be an offensive stand, then what about discrimination againsts a particular section of people. It is also offensive. So here everyone can understand that User:AntanO main aim is to block me permanently and not the solution for the article.I request all the admins to establish free flow of knowledge, equality and social justice.I request every wiki users to safeguard basic human rights and to eliminate discrimination in any form from wikipedia.--RajaRajan Tamilian (talk) 05:00, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
