Template looping

Hey! Just so you're aware, User:Qwerfjkl/sandbox/hasRcat/testcase was producing a template loop error. After some initial looking through, it seems the issue is probably to do with {{#invoke:Page|getContent}} in User:Qwerfjkl/sandbox/hasRcat (preprocessing it means it preprocess the call to itself, which will loop). I've implemented a temporary solution (noinclude tags), but if I may ask, what exactly is the goal with the template? The implementation seems interesting, but I can't exactly figure out what the intended output is. Aidan9382 (talk) 08:36, 29 December 2022 (UTC)

@Aidan9382, to help with automatic rcategorisation, and avoid duplicate rcats, as described at Template talk:Redirect category shell. I plan to add rcats automatically through a template, then get the page content and remove the automatic rcat template, and then expand the page content, to work around this. — Qwerfjkltalk 08:43, 29 December 2022 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Akburç (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Question from ArpeggioKazuya (14:30, 4 January 2023)

Hi Qwerfjkl!

I was copy editing the below article and have a question. The website/magazine highlighted in the article no longer seems to be available. It's website no longer seems to exist. How are we to handle these situations?

Thank you!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPO:) --ArpeggioKazuya (talk) 14:30, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

@ArpeggioKazuya, SPO is a disambiguation page, and doesn't have any external links, so I presume you meant another page. You can try this tool to fix dead links. — Qwerfjkltalk 20:03, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

Decline/reject

Saw your note, saw you fixed it. The AFC submission template was broken already because the creator managed to change enough values to reset it to pending while still keeping the old decliner and rejection. I suspect this is what caused your odd experience. Primefac (talk) 21:12, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

Relisting more than twice

While I'd like to thank you for closing so many CfD, WP:RELIST says, in general, debates should not be relisted more than twice. In particular, today we had Category:English-language education, where there was 1 implied keep and 2 explicit keeps. That's usually enough to keep, as there was no support to delete.
William Allen Simpson (talk) 06:21, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

@William Allen Simpson, there was consensus to keep that category, but Category:Language education by language was also discussed, so I tagged that category. This means that the discussion should not be closed for 7 more days, so I relisted the discussion. — Qwerfjkltalk 06:34, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
Please update the relist tag with that explanation, as prescribed in WP:RELIST. (It was not obvious.) Aha, you did! Thanks!

hasRcat/testcase

Hello! Would you mind removing the invalid rcats on User:Qwerfjkl/sandbox/hasRcat/testcase to prevent it being categorized in Category:Pages with incorrectly transcluded templates? I don't want to mess anything up. Thanks! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 23:32, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Question from Dynamitesole3 (08:09, 19 January 2023)

Hi. i am trying to learn how to write an extensive article about my favourite actor who isn't on wikipedia. --Dynamitesole3 (talk) 08:09, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

@Dynamitesole3, Welcome! Creating a new article from scratch is extremely challenging, and new editors are strongly recommended to spend a few months learning how Wikipedia works, by making improvements to some of our existing six million articles before trying it. When you do decide to have a go at a new article, you are highly encouraged to read WP:Your first article. If you haven't already also check out WP:TUTORIAL; it's a lot of fun! Happy editing! — Qwerfjkltalk 16:56, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
