A brownie for you!

Thank you for your thorough review of Mario Ramírez Treviño! Don't worry about the delay, however. Your review comments will surely help me in my future projects. It was a pleasure to work with you. Happy editing! ComputerJA () 05:41, 3 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Howard Dean, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Hill (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi, could you please take a look at my peer review? I'm trying to get it to GA status and I would like some other opinions. Thanks, and I'm sorry for the scary notification alert! Grammarxxx (What'd I do this time?) 05:13, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Your Edits to Annise Parker

Hello PrairieKid! Recently you edited Annise Parker to change the word, controller to comptroller. That edit has been reverted as it was not correct. According to the City of Houston's own website , Annise Parker was City Controller from 2004 - 2010. Cheers, Dillard421♂♂ (talk to me) 21:30, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Oops. Thank you for letting me know. The two words are similar, and many think "comptroller" is "controller" and I hadn't heard of an actual "controller" before. I should have done my research before making the edit to make sure. Have a good one. PrairieKid (talk) 21:53, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
No Worries, I added additional references around the object of discussion, just in case anyone else is curious. :) I actually had to look it up myself, I have heard of a city controller, but never really knew what it was. Dillard421♂♂ (talk to me) 22:04, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. Regards from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 23:49, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Title of Comptroller election

Just so we don't get into another edit war, I posted the recent issue of the title of the article on the talk page. I can 100% understand that the names of the infoboxes must match the titles of the article but, the title of the article is wrong. Comptroller should be capitalized as it is an official government position. In the 2009 election, Comptroller was capitalized, as it should be. Would love to get your feedback. - DONALDderosa (talk) 15:36, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

First off, we didn't get into an edit war in the first place. If you ever get into one (which you never should), you'll know. Second, the 2009 election is also wrong. According to the policies I cited and their application, it should be a lowercase. If you look to any article (besides the 2009 article, which I have fixed) the infoboxes match the title, unless they are in a series. Here, it isn't a matter of opinion. It is simply following a policy. PrairieKid (talk) 16:24, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Maia Mitchell

Just so you know, the IP edit you accepted at Maia Mitchell was a copyvio and had to be reverted. Jackmcbarn (talk) 21:49, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

When accepting edits, I only look at the immediate edit. I should have nominated the image for Speedy Deletion, but as long as it remained on the wiki, I felt I should let the edit stand. Next time, I will nominate and will wait to accept the edit until the discussion on deletion is completed. And thanks for letting me know! PrairieKid (talk) 21:55, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
There's no reason to wait on the edit. Just revert it right away (and then tag) if the image linked to is a copyvio (and there's no good content). Jackmcbarn (talk) 22:02, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
OK! I'm still pretty new to reviewing edits, and that was one of the rules I wasn't completely certain about. Thanks for the clarification! PrairieKid (talk) 22:05, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Mario Ramírez Treviño

He just got captured! Now I'm more glad the article got reviewed. [1] Thanks again! ComputerJA () 18:38, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

I'm glad he was found and captured!!! I'm really glad the article is at a GA level, as it is going to get a LARGE amount of traffic. Thank you for your continued coverage of him, along with other cartels. As the US considers immigration reformation and drug legalization, while Mexico amps up its own force, those people become that much more important! PrairieKid (talk) 23:56, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

ASL GAR

Hi PrairieKid, I wanted to check in about the GAR for American Sign Language. Let me know whether you plan on continuing with it, or if you'd like another reviewer to take it up. Best, Mo-Al (talk) 22:24, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Woh. I'm very sorry. Real life got in the way of Wikipedia for a while. Last Tues.-Mon. I worked about 75 hours at the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival in Vancouver, Washington. I spent all of the next 2 days asleep and am still recovering. I don't know what happened during the 5 days before that and how I managed to forget. Please forgive me. I will begin my review ASAP!!!!! PrairieKid (talk) 00:51, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
No problem -- just wanted to check in. Take your time. Best, Mo-Al (talk) 01:15, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Carol Paul AfD

FYI I have posted Carol Paul for AfD. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 14:56, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

In all honesty, I don't think that it will survive the AfD. However, I wanted the opportunity to make my case and wanted us to follow procedure. Just deleting a page isn't the proper way to go about it. Thanks. PrairieKid (talk) 17:06, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
It might survive -- take a look at the various reviews her cookbook received, now part of the article. Regarding procedure, the WP:BLAR is an acceptable one. Carol's contributions are now in the Ron Paul article, and the BLAR gave a redirect right to that section. Reverting the BLAR left little choice; e.g., leave as is or AfD it. Posting the AfD had a beneficial impact because another editor came in and spiffed it up. That often happens. – S. Rich (talk) 22:48, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Substing templates

Hi! I just wanted to leave you a quick reminder. When using certain templates (such as welcome templates and user warnings) on talk pages, don't forget to substitute them by adding subst: to the front template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Cheers, — Preceding signed comment added by Cymru.lass (talkcontribs) 01:19, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Cory Booker

These statements are not cited. They should have citation or be removed. I'm a novice and do not know how to easily communicate with people here, but I will not stop editing the opening of the Cory Booker article until action is taken. These statements are dubious and do not have citations. They must go, or have citation. It's easy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.162.18.52 (talk) 23:20, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Please start a discussion on the administrators' board. I will continue editing until that discussion has been resolved. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.162.18.52 (talk) 23:32, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Source for Cory Booker living on food stamps is a youtube video of Cory Booker saying he lived on food stamps. All other "citations" are equally dubious. As I said before, I'm fine continuing to add the citation needed tag. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.162.18.52 (talk) 23:40, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Please start a section on the Talk Page so we can work through this issue. Thanks. 209.162.18.52 (talk) 23:44, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
