questionHi - why did you remove user:Unre4L's unblock request? Rama's arrow (3:16) 03:29, 27 January 2007 (UTC) On Cplot sockpupets Long-term abuse reportThis is because most of the rnage blocks are just unwarranted range blocks due to BWA (blocking while angry) or just laziness. Except for a few large range blocks, the other range blocks were just an overreaction where the Cplot sockpuppets exhibited no signes off using anything more than a single address within the range (you can check the histories if you don't blelive me). The Sprint ranges are dynamically assigned. There might be another range or two that is also based on dynamically assigned addresses (and exhibits signs of that to the blocking admin; since we know more about what's going on). However, most of the /24 mask blocks are due to Raul654 seeing a single address and figuirng, well I might as well cause as much disruption as possible. Disruption is good from our point of view since it draw attention to this highly unconstitutional activity. However, I just thought it was only fair to let you know what you're doing. I can tell you right now from a technological standpoint. You won't be able to stop the Cplot sockpuppets. It's just technologically impossible. You'll have to resort to other measures. --WhatHappenedToOurDove 03:33, 27 January 2007 (UTC) I was wondering that you have deleted this image [1], but why does the image page still exists and the image is still there? I put no source & no license templates there, in case the image page is not totally deleted. Cheers. — Indon (reply) — 08:39, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Joel Ballin speedy deletionHi, I saw your message about the article I created on the artist Joel Ballin (marked for speedy deletion). By the time I got your message a few moments ago and went to look, the article had disappeared. I hadn't been able to research the person very much but am now unsure as to why the article was deleted so quickly. Dawd 14:33, 27 January 2007 (UTC) Re: Vandal warning toolboxConcerning your question, I haven't been too active on W/P lately, but sure I'm interested in keeping the toolbox up to date. I do use it myself, though not too frequently, and I hadn't really followed the update to the warning templates. The toolbox portion of the sidebar doesn't have a whole lot of room, so I'm not sure how I'd incorporate that matrix of warnings. Suggestions? --Kbh3rdtalk 00:19, 28 January 2007 (UTC) ThanksHeh, thanks for reverting that vandalism in my userpage, Pilotguy. Hectagon AfDHi. You closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hectagon as no consensus, but that doesn't seem quite right to me. It had 9 keep votes to 20 delete/merge/redirect (which are equivalent for these articles, since there was no meaningful content to merge) votes, and two of the keep votes were 'keep or merge.' Further, several of the keep votes had rationale like 'I don't think that math articles should have to pass notability guidelines.' It seems to me that a better than two-thirds majority in favor of deletion, along with such weak arguments to keep, would mean that the article should be deleted. I don't want to question your judgment, but I did want to be sure that you realized that the delete/merge/redirect votes were essentially the same due to the lack of content in the articles. What would you consider a sufficient majority to indicate consensus? Thanks for your time. --Sopoforic 07:28, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
he'll tell youWell, it's an old hangar talk joke, originally nothing to do with the Wikipedia. It is supposed to mean that pilots are so preoccupied with flying even on the ground that eventually they start talking about aviation in a non-pilot croud as well. Then I saw the category allowing the wikipedian pilots to tag themselves as such, this reminded me of the joke right away... --BACbKA 10:03, 29 January 2007 (UTC) Serial Vandalism by User talk:65.241.114.199User talk:65.241.114.199 appears to be a group effort as "they" have continuously vandalized articles and then remove the warnings from their user page. I invite you to look at "their" history (one separate entry after removal of warnings say "we are good". I pulled the last intact series of warnings and then reconstituted their User talk page. They hit Wiki hard today and have been repeated offenders this month (looks like a school computer lab caper due to dates and times). I saw your name among list of admin/editors who warned "them" in the past. I vote for a ban. Cheers, HJ 21:50, 29 January 2007 (UTC) ThanksThanks for reverting the vandalism to my page. --Nlu (talk) 06:17, 30 January 2007 (UTC) Your user page is too wideUnless your user page is for your personal use only, you might want to consider reformatting it (or at least tweaking it). I, like many users, am stuck with with a 1024x768 screen. I lose some of that to the Wikipedia sidebar. At that point, your page is too wide. Personally, I used to have access to a much wider screen (1600x1080 + 1024x768). So I understand the value of using that extra space when it is available. Can you provide the best of both worlds? Hawker Typhoon 20:45, 1 February 2007 (UTC) Hey Hawker: Can you pls explain why you are reverting to an older, less WIKI version of GR? Doesn't make sense. New one is more neutral, more information, and allows for responses to criticism. What gives? DeletionI object to your deletion of Marco Antonio Bragadin. It was tagged as 'not in English', but that was by an IP number editor and it was not true. The first paragraph was in English, and the appropriate action would have been to cut the rest. Charles Matthews 12:21, 2 February 2007 (UTC) MercuryLover's blockAt Viridae's request, I reviewed his block of Sable. I feel that MercuryLover should be treated in the same way that Sable is treated, so I looked at that as well. I have no problem with the 24 hour blocks against both users, but I showed a bit of leniency and reduced the remaining time to 3 hours in both cases (this means their blocks will run out at the same time, and a few hours earlier than they would have). I hope that's okay with you; strictly speaking, you should also have been consulted, so my apologies for cutting corners. My excuse is just that I'm a bit pressed for time, and that it's a fairly minor action. You can see my comments on their talk pages. Obviously, I won't be in the mood for any more leniency if edit warring breaks out again. This was one of the most famous string quartets of the 20th century, especially with regard to performance of music of the Second Viennese School. I noticed the tag someone slapped on it said "doesn't even have a CD" -- which is kind of funny, considering their extensive discography. They recorded music for about 40 years, from shortly after WWII until the 1980s. Would you like me to go through DRV? I don't like undoing other administrators' actions. I understand for books, magazines and other published works but as for describing websites, such as the one of concern, I looked and checked and Wikipedia seems to be very vague on how nobility applies to websites. I do understand that Wiki is an online dictionary, and like many other webpage with articles here....it basically decribes what the site is in a neutral, non-biased point of view. If I was to list a webpage for a Wikipedia article, especially if it's a homemade article...what should I look for to avoid any threat of deletion? Burnwelk 14:59, 11 February 2007 (UTC) Power Tab Editor (article deletion)Greetings: The article for the musical notation software known as Power Tab Editor was deleted for "blatant advertising." The software itself is freeware and has nothing to gain monetarily through advertisement. Anyway, that's not really my point. The software was the first of its kind to give the user the same type of printout found in many professional magazines/publications that use expensive, industry standard software such as Finale (computer program). It brought guitar music and tablature to the masses and still has a thriving community. Other guitar notation software articles remain, such as Guitar Pro. These two communities are very close and competitive (as far as producing quality transcriptions) to this day. We Power Tab Editor users are confused as to why the article was removed, especially since the release of a new version of the editor is on the horizon and the creator, Brad Larsen, has recently expanded the software with a librarian tool. Could you please advise? Thanks, DeeKenn 20:17, 11 February 2007 (UTC) Vandals Trying to Prevent a Nonsense Page from Being DeletedHello Pilotguy.
