Category:Extreme Championship Wrestling roster

Both Category:Extreme Championship Wrestling roster and Category:Stampede Wrestling roster were voted and agreed to be renamed. That was a couple of weeks ago and they still have not been renamed. TJ Spyke 03:48, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Wow...worse than i thought...

hey mr. antisocial, me again...so you blocked me for a few minutes...probably made you feel really good about yourself, the fact that you have no friends...sooo, u wanna be a pilot? ever heard of "Air Traffic Control"? you have to talk to them, or you get in trouble...so man up, and stop being so shy...stop editing wikipedia for a few minutes and go talk to someone...

ps, this is all for your own benefit,or youre gonna go nowhere in life... highschool is nothing, remember that

How many?

so mr. antisocial, how many "last warnings" do i get??? theres three up there now...but i guess youre too afraid to "talk" to people to find out....

Indigo (Actress)

I'm sorry, I am VERY confused. I added an article for the actress Indigo, who, among other projects, is currently one of the stars in the hugely popular award-nominated television program Weeds and also starred in the 7th season of the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer; and someone had the nerve to nominate the article for DELETION - and worse yet - it was actually successfully DELETED? That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of! Please refer me to the debate that ensued for the deletion of the prominent, well-known television actress so that I can see and understand the logic?! Midnightguinea 08:28, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I looked into the history logs for articles nominated for speedy deletion for January 3, 2 and 4th and I find NO record of Indigo's entry being listed. I am thus forced to believe that you, or someone, went in and arbitrarily deleted this article without cause. Please explain. Midnightguinea 08:32, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
I have finally located the log showing that you deleted the article in question. I am again waiting for the explanation as to how you determined that a major television actress with 12 years of professional credits to her name on such series as NYPD Blue, Judging Amy, CSI, Family Guy, Cold Case, Boston Public, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Crossing Jordon, Chicago Hope and Sister Sister could be considered "non-notable". In the meantime I have re-created the article. Midnightguinea 08:46, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Apparently you feel that you don't need to provide an explanation for your inappropriate and haphazard deletion of the article in question, as you have responded to my inquiry neither on YOUR talk page, MY talk page, or the talk page of the article in question. Midnightguinea 16:09, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Wrongfully deleted

Hello!

I was surprised to notice that you deleted my first entry into Wikipedia. The reason for deletion seems to be advertising. In fact this is just shared information for everyone that is interested in learning more about Offshore internet services worldwide.

Please, have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Itransition - this company is also situated in Belarus and is involved in the same activities as MoveYourWeb doe. They ARE in Wikipedia and I and are ligit to be there.

I composed the text about Moveyourweb company strictly according to the rules - I have used internal links to other sections in Wiki and put just one link to our homepage. I didn't even use External Link to moveyourweb.net

Once again, I ask you, please, reconsider your decision about the deletion of the page Moveyourweb. This is a solid company located in Eastern Europe and well popular across the world and in fact a lot of people try to learn more about that company that's why I thought that entry in wikipedia will be useful for the community. I really like Wikipedia and think that its changing the world of content. The user generated content idea is just great and I'm happy seeing wikipedia as one of the most successful non-profit organizations out there.

Can you please delete this?

Hi, Pilotguy, can you please delete this page: Template:AUTO, because I didn't realize that there was another template {{autobiography}} for this policy. Thanks. Bearly541 22:25, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

I went ahead and redirected to {{autobiography}}, so deletion shouldn't be necessary. szyslak (t, c) 02:18, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

I see you have put a notability template on it. I am absolutely suprised at it. You may not know this person but he is one of Turkey's best known figures. The IMDB database alone shows it as a source. I'll put more sources for the article. I honestly don't understand what your problem is, there are other Turkish actors and singers in wikipedia, less notable than Emre Altug. --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 22:34, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Notabilitzy criteria for actors: "Notable actors and television personalities who have appeared in well-known films or television productions. Notability can be determined by:

  • Multiple features in popular culture publications such as Vogue, GQ, Elle, FHM or national newspapers5 --> Take a look at one of the leading newspapers of Turkey, Hürriyet: [1] - Type Emre Altug into the search engine: just Hürriyet gives 377 pages. At Zaman Newspaper: [2] (in English)
  • A large fan base, fan listing or "cult" following -- [3] just one fan forum has over 1200 registered members, his official site is currently down
  • An independent biography5 -- see Emre Altug sources
  • Name recognition -- hit the name ino Google and see what happensç Also: see Emre Altug @ Powerturk, one of the leading Music TV stations in Turkey. Emre Altug @ Show TV - Sensiz Olmuyor TV Series.
  • Commercial endorsements

If this is not enough for notability then there are some serious problems with the system, i think! --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 23:07, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for taking a moment to meddle with the Robbie Harris page. I think he IS notable, though I'm the blighter who tagged it CsD. I didn't find sufficient references today during some research (for related, Bodhran page), it's just a bit awkward when the subject writes his own page, link-spams (a wee bit) another page, then a new, possible sock puppet appears the minute the bio page is "threatened." Hopefully with your new tags, Robbie's little corner of WP will get some deserved attention and join the WP properly. See you 'round the tarmac (fellow) flyboy. ;) David Spalding (  ) 22:44, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Blockiptext

Hey Pilotguy:

I noticed you deleted the toolserver's IP from the list of IPs to avoid blocking; you realize that if someone blocks it because it isn't listed, it will take down a large number of the bots that operate on Wikipedia, as dozens if not hundreds are hosted on hemlock, right? (As for the Com-Com, which your summary mentioned but you didn't remove, I'm pretty sure that was a Foundation order in the aftermath of the House block that made national news.) Essjay (Talk) 11:18, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

That image is Commons transcluded, see [4]. The local page is just a copyright tag (Which duplicates the Commons tag) and a description that should be on Commons as well. 68.39.174.238 22:41, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Don't think it qualified as a re-post as this version was in English only and the AFD was concluded with a speedy A2. But it would have been deleted eventually giving a stronger case for future reposts. Agathoclea 00:29, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

sigh... why do you have create so much more work for me?

I see that you've just speedy-deleted three of my images. While I understand that Wikipedia has to be protected from bad copyright issues, those photos were created by me (well my friend and me), and if you'd given me half a chance to edit the tags I would have. Hopefully I'll be able to locate the images easily enough, but they certainly aren't on this computer. Such a needless hassle. You could have at least allowed me a day. aLii 00:32, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

DEAR PILOT GUY - PLEASE READ

==Hi, I'm new here and not totally sure how to send you a message other than to tack it on to this one... which is similar to mine. I would like you to put up my article about Candice Jarrett back up on wikipedia please. You cited "non noteable individual"...

Candice Jarrett was spotlighted by Fender Guitars and Sonicbids in 2006, performed at the Coca-Cola Coliseum at the New York State Fair in 2005, performed at CBGB's in NYC and The Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, and is opening for Rusted Root's Michael Glabicki in the spring. Her almost 10,000 myspace friends think she's noteable. Moreover, she regularly performs with Greg Nash who was just recently spotlighted by Drum Magazine - and even though Candice is a New York based songwriter, she was chosen to perform in the UK in March 2007.

I sincerely hope that I have made my case to you. If you have any questions, or would like to see some more credentials, please respond here. Otherwise, I'll check to see if the article is back up later. If you want me to revise the article... I know I'm not the best writer.... but I'll give it my best go. Thank you so much for reading this. I hope that I don't seem like a troll. :-)

Please review WP:BAND, and if you feel it means inclusion criteria after then, we can re-create it. Also please sign your comments with ~~~~ so I know who I'm talking to. —Pilotguy (ptt) 21:27, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Howdy Pilotguy! This is User:GofG. It has actually come to my attention that this IP address has become unblocked, which is more that slightly unacceptable. More vandalism comes from this IP address than any school that I know of, and I would greatly appreciate an IP-only ban on this IP Address (so that I can still edit from here.) It was permabanned (or something close to permabanned, I forget what) before, but it has been unblocked.68.156.179.110 20:47, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for fixing the educational IP flagging I attempted at User talk:149.106.224.2. I now see how this should be done through the template, rather than by simple categorization. Wareh 21:56, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

nitrous express

You deleted Nitrous Express as "blatant advertising." You didn't even bother to ask me. Now, I've been notified that the image therein has been listed as an orphan. This seriously bugs me. As with Futanari, somebody who has no insight into the community surrounding an article, decides it's "blatant advertising." I'm not a user, owner, or affiliate of Nitrous Express. It's prominently figured in movies, in the community, and in racing technology — note that they invented the nitrous fogger, which is mentioned on wiktionary as well as in numerous instances on the internet. You might even check patents. However, you clearly don't care. In which case, the correct path of action here is to admit you made a mistake based upon your own biases and undelete it. I find this action on your part to be entirely reprehensible. You could at least contact me if you think I'm advertising. I have thousands of edits that are not advertising. Get your own irons out of the fire here, get your perspective and biases off the project, and be an adult about this. xoxo ... aa:talk 07:00, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of Gold Mercury International

Dear Pilotguy,

Gold Mercury International would just like to know why the Gold Mercury wikipedia page was deleted on 16 January. Your reason stated was copyright violation, which does not make any sense, since it is taken from own web page!!!

Please reply asap.

Public affairs Manager of Gold Mercury - Nina Pfifer —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.158.184.227 (talk) 10:33, 19 January 2007 (UTC).

Gold Mercury International was marked and deleted as a copyright violation... on two different occasions. Looking at the text, I can verify that most of it was copied from the website, and pasted into the article, without any re-writing. That is unacceptable. If you would like to re-create the article please do so but follow WP:NOR and WP:RS and do not copy text from that website. —Pilotguy (ptt) 15:54, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry i am kind of new to wikipedia. I tried to write a page on the teacher and student of classics, Michael Wheeler. On the page i listed some of his acoplishments, but at the time you flagged it I had not finished adding to it. I am a little unclear what you want and was dissapointed when i found out what had happened. Thank you for you time. Awleblang 23:49, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually, no.

I don't have to defend an article that's worthy of inclusion. If you want to keep it out, and I want to keep it in, and you have the extra buttons and I do not, my only recourse is to leave. Because the cabal will ensure your ilk have their way. I have noted before that the best reaction to this sort of nonsense is to walk the other way. In this case, you win. Companies you don't know about or do business with, despite their having hundreds of thousands of hits on google, thousands of sponsored racers, etc., will be kept out. Because you are clearly more knowledgeable on the subject. Keep up the good work. xoxo, ... aa:talk 00:05, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Ian Ritchie Architects

Hi, you recently deleted a stub that I had created on this leading British architectural practice. I have checked the Wikipedia policy on notability and cannot see any reason why this subject is not worthy of an article. I have previously created a page - Glenn Howells - on a similar subject and this page has remained for over a year now, with useful additions made by various contributors. If anything, Ian Ritchie Architects are a more notable practice, and certainly have had a much higher international profile. As I mentioned on the talk page, several other Wikipedia articles make reference to Ian Ritchie Architects. The practice has exhibited at the Venice Architecutal Biennalle, won numerous international awards and been written about extensively (numerous, books, articles etc). This is not an advertising exercise, but an attempt to fill what I would describe as a major gap in Wikipedia's coverage of European architecture.

overzealous deletion of Shebang! page

" * 21:36, 19 January 2007 Pilotguy (Talk | contribs) deleted "Shebang!" (Deleting page - reason was: "Copyright violation from http://www.shebangcrew.com/" using NPWatcher)"

In fact, there was no copyright violation. Full permission was obtained to use the crew's official biography information as listed on their web site and at other sources. Perhaps if the page had been allowed to remain in existence longer, it could have been expanded on, or this matter could have been explained/refuted resolved. Could you please restore the page.

Thanks,

The Diplomat's Club (Seinfeld)

My Plot section edition of The Diplomat's Club was reverted to a previous version because of copyright violation. I think I did nothing wrong as I have been editing the plot of other episodes in the same fashion. I think that my versions are a little longer but more complete. I don't really mind that the version was reverted, it's just that I'm writing it as soon as I finish watching the episode, so it's fresh material, and it has a lot more details along with wikipedia links. 01:54, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
