Hook End

I used to live in Exlade Street and would occasionally bump into DG in The Highwayman which was then his local. Well, it was very dark in there. True story. I wonder who was that "urban explorer who wishes to remain anonymous". Martinevans123 (talk) 12:53, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

@Martinevans123: There are videos of some "urban explorers" in the house on YouTube. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:16, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
Just cos I'm a regular proponent of YT, there's no need to go casting aspersions!! Martinevans123 (talk) 13:19, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

Physiological Society afternoon hello

Hi Andy, I think we owe you a beer...

Asthemist (talk) 14:03, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited RSPB Medal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stanley Johnson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Tubular Bells

Thanks so much for finding that Radio Times reference for the BBC 2nd House performance. I've added a lot to this article in the last few months, and last week I was in the British Library and added various missing citations, but the one that eluded me was the broadcast date of the show - I checked the issues of Radio Times throughout December and didn't find any reference to Oldfield's performance (the 1 December date quoted in the text is the one most quoted online, but according to the RT that day's edition of 2nd House was a special, devoted to a Marilyn Monroe retrospective). Had I just had a little more patience and checked one further week I would have found it. Richard3120 (talk) 10:41, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

Una voce poco fa

Assuming the article survives AfD, I'd be happy to. Also a picture, if/when I can find someone to do it. (I'd rather not go the selfie route, because ick.) May have to wait a few days, as I'm currently travelling.

Which is why this response is somewhat delayed - apologies. I've been hightailing it through central Mississippi and Alabama today - currently in Monroeville, preparing to take a couple of pot-shots at a songbird tomorrow. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 07:06, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

Andy recorded the voice of my first subject here, DYK? In person. Thank you, Andy! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:47, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
I can still provide a recording, if you want it. :-) Just say the word. (What does one do in these situations? I'm not sure, honestly.) --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:00, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
@Ser Amantio di Nicolao: Thank you; please see this guide. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 08:48, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

SuperMarioMan

SuperMarioMan has attempted to remove your contribution to his talk page with regards to the BBC Genome.[1] I find it strange that he has attempted to remove this, and whilst I have temporarily reverted his removal, I am quite sure that he will try to remove it from his page again. Not quite sure why he feels the need to remove such information, as I thought that it was quite helpful and kind of you to take the time to message him about it. Zoyetu (talk) 10:45, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

@Zoyetu: He - like you, me and anyone else - can remove what he wants from his own talk page. It's an implicit acknowledgement that he has read it. You should not revert such edits. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:20, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
Sorry! I have undone my own undoing now. Zoyetu (talk) 11:22, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
Also, please don't make the same comment in multiple places (in this case, here and on your talk page, where you pinged me). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:24, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Pigsonthewing, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 12,878 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
  • We have successfully cleared the backlog of pages created by non-confirmed accounts before ACTRIAL. Thank you to everyone who participated in that drive.

Technology update:

  • Primefac has created a script that will assist in requesting revision deletion for copyright violations that are often found in new pages. For more information see User:Primefac/revdel.

General project update:
