Trouble (I guess)

Oh my... I reviewed an article for GA before. But, the song is still charting. Can it be a GA? The article is well written. Please help me.. Novice7 | Talk 12:57, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. Will you be able to add the content to How Will I Know tomorrow? Novice7 | Talk 03:23, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you.. Btw, I see a comment on WikiProject! Wow! Mimi Project is Alive!!! Novice7 | Talk 03:27, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Nathan, can you assess each of Mariah articles? I assessed many. Lots more to go. If you wanna know how to assess just edit the article's Talk Page, add {{WikiProject Mariah Carey|class=|importance=}}, and add class (Stub, Start, C, B, GA, FA, FL..). As for importance, if you feel the song/album is known to people other than MC fans and among fans, it is High.. so & so.. I hope you understood. By the way, How Will I Know too please (if you're not busy, that is). Novice7 | Talk 16:33, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

The Roof

I thought there was something wrong when I reviewed the article, and only just put my finger on it. Adabow (talk · contribs) 22:18, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Re: Discussion

Hi Nathan, just to make everything more understandable, let's do this first:

  • Music Box: Release date-1993, Peak-No.2 (1 week at No.2), Number of Weeks on Charts-No.77, Best of All Time-No.20 (points-2949) (5x Platinum)
  • Daydream: Release-date-1995, Peak-No.1 (1 week at No.1), Number of Weeks on Chart-No.49, Best of All Time-No.252 (points-1451) (5x Platinum)
  • Falling into You: Release date-1996, Peak-No.1 (3 weeks at No.1), Number of Weeks on Chart-76, Best of All Time-No.19 (points-2964) (10x platinum)
  • Let's Talk About Love: Release date-1997, Peak-No.1 (8 weeks at No.1), Number of Weeks on Chart-50, Best of All Time-No.145 (points-1819) (9x Platinum)

What I would like to find out first is when exactly RIANZ established its certification system. Would you happen to know it? If Max is being truthful about the number of certifications for all albums you mentioned, then based on the peaks of the albums (Music Box VS Falling into You or Daydream VS Let's Talk About Love), the number of the weeks they've all spent at the peak-position etc., the only thing there is left to assume is that RIANZ seems to have launched its certification system right before both Dion's albums were released, leaving Carey's both those albums semi-certified. In other words, it looks like both Carey's albums had already sold some 75,000 respectively (5x Platinum-just an example) before RIANZ has launched its certification-system, and after that point, only the other half of some 150,000 units of each album got captured by their certification-scheme. I hope I made sense, you could also contact RIANZ and ask for both Carey's and Dion's full list of certifications. Remember, certifying agencies always reply to your inquiries :).--Harout72 (talk) 01:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi

Hi Peter, Re: this edit summary despite the repeated incidents of vandalism that has come from that IP one should always stay cool, be civil and not do anything that starts wiki-drama. However, do keep up the good anti-vandal work! Regards, —Ancient ApparitionChampagne? • 4:23pm • 05:23, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

It's alright :) I know the frustration vandals cause people. —Ancient ApparitionChampagne? • 4:28pm • 05:28, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Mimi

Nathan, I have assessed many articles. Some more to go. Btw, there are only 5 members in the Project. I've sent the notice of its opening to many, but no response! Also, if you're free today, can you add the song info of How Will I Know? Novice7 | Talk 10:25, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Is there any chance more would join the Project? Novice7 | Talk 10:26, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Yeah sure. Give it some time, I'm sure Journalist and Legolas will join shortly. I mean, even Beyonce's only has 9 or 10, and shes out a few days before, so don't get too excited yet. But yeah, soon :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 10:29, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
I've finished assessing all the articles. If you could see the "Importance" of these (I'm sure I've made errors in importance) articles, it'd be great. I guess the bot would update soon too. Novice7 | Talk 10:35, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks so much!!!! Now, I've gotta expand Composition. Do you know anyone who can help me with that? Also, does the book have the release date? Novice7 | Talk 11:42, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Nathan, I have a question, about How Will I Know. You have added, Walden was producing Aretha's I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me). But, that song was released in 1987. Is it Who's Zooming Who? or I Knew You Were Waiting? Novice7 | Talk 07:59, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
OK. Thank you. I just needed to clarify that. Hope I didn't disturb you. I have also hidden the other language versions of Vision of Love on your Sandbox, so that they don't get messed up. Hope it's okay. Novice7 | Talk 08:09, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you so much! Also, I was thinking of working on Emotions and its singles, but I see you're on your way. So, I guess its better I not barge in your way. I would also love to work on Rainbow. And yes, sandboxes are cool. We can work with ease and without "intrusion" of IPs. lol. Novice7 | Talk 08:25, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay then. But, all I have is the Nickson book. I don't have Shapiro's one. About Rainbow, I'll try to collect sources. Novice7 | Talk 08:30, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Nathan, please check out Thank God I Found You. I've started making fixes :) Novice7 | Talk 05:01, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh Nathan, I just check the FAC of All I Want for Christmas Is You. I'm sorry it ended this way. I wanted it to be a FA. Oh well, btw, I am working on Thank God I Found You. Novice7 | Talk 06:23, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
That'd be great. But, I'm not so good in writing Background section. That's why I asked you to write. You decide. If you think it's okay, I'll do it.Novice7 | Talk 11:29, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Yep. I get distracted whenever I start typing "The Background......". I don't know why. Also, I have a tiny doubt about using Pandora for composition, and Ah... Don't forget Live Performances! How am I gonna get that???. Btw, what's up with this guy? He creeped me out. Lol! I never expected that to happen, when I got the message. Novice7 | Talk 11:39, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay then. Btw, I almost forgot about something. I read about AIWFCIY and milk production. I just remembered something. Goats do have link with Lambs! And you know what I mean, we Lambs do love Mimi. Right? LOL. I'll take care of TGIFU. I also wish to start Heartbreaker after that. Novice7 | Talk 11:43, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay then. Novice7 | Talk 11:48, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Hahaha.. You got me! I didn't mean it, but yes, I don't listen to Beyonce much. I spend my time listening to Mariah, Whitney, Mandy, Jessica, Michael Buble, Taio Cruz and Colbie Caillat. I love Adult Contemporary Music more than R&B and Hip-Hop :D Novice7 | Talk 11:58, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
You are exactly correct! AC tops R&B and Hip-Hop. I admit Jessica oversings sometimes, but she's kinda down to earth like Mariah. I do love Celine too. Mandy, for me has some good songs like "Candy" (not our Candy), "I Wanna Be With You" and "Cry". And, Whitney was really really good! I didn't like Whitney before, but when I hear this, I kinda fell for her music. Now, its like she's lost it! But, I heard a clip of BET's Celebration of Gospel 2011, where Whitney sang, and she did sound good unlike her tour. As I said earlier, in case of MC, Glitter is not a "flop". It's really good (Love Reflections, Lead the Way, Loverboy). Novice7 | Talk 12:08, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Hey Nathan, if you're not busy, can you take a look here. Is it okay? Also, is the music video section too short? The composition field is filled with underscores, I know. There is no sheetmusic on Music notes. Maybe, you know anyone who has access to them? And, a "Merry Christmas to you"Novice7 | Talk 12:35, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I hate "My Only Wish" too. Oh well, Tricky produced it. I'm so sad about Whitney, she can be good some day, maybe. Mimi's voice was thin around 2008, but better than Rainbow, in my opinion. Maybe she sang that way, but "Crybaby" has very different vocals. Oh well, Glitter did have some good songs. Novice7 | Talk 03:15, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you so much for all your help Nathan! I've nominated How Will I Know for a GA. Are you mad that I didn't put your name too? Have you heard this? Vocally, 2003–2005 was her best.Novice7 | Talk 04:12, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes, of course! Emotions and Music Box eras were the best. I meant after she started singing Hip hop. About the GA nom, I hope you're not mad :) Novice7 | Talk 08:19, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh, which is it WDIHSB or HWIK? Novice7 | Talk 08:24, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I found out. It's HWIK. I'll get on it, and of course TGIFY. A "Very Merry Christmas II YOU". Novice7 | Talk 08:29, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Merry Christmas! I'll be putting Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas II You on repeat whole day :D Novice7 | Talk 08:35, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Hi Nathan! I was wondering if you could help me with I Will Always Love You too. I'm sorry if I'm bugging you. If possible can you scan and send me the Whitney pages? Novice7 | Talk 15:24, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Oh sure! Thank you.. If you could you can send me TGIFY too. I'll try my best. But for IWALY I'm working with Reaper, so I guess he would help me complete Background :) Also, is there a book for #2 Hits or something like that? In that case, I'd love to get a scan of Heartbreak Hotel :)Novice7 | Talk 04:06, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you.. :) Why is it that Mariah articles face a lot of vandalism these days? Novice7 | Talk 12:32, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
LOL. Yes, I guess so. Just one more thing. I'm thinking of expanding Just Whitney and if I want to expand the "Promotion" section, should I add anything about the "Crack Is Whack" thingy? Novice7 | Talk 12:38, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes, so said :( The crack thing made her like it. She should've agreed that her life was not the same after marriage. Poor girl. But I still love her, and she's my idol alongside Mimi :) Should I add it as a sub-section to Promotion? About Mariah, yes that Popsicle thing, right? Btw, what's going on below?? Novice7 | Talk 12:44, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
I would say say :) Well, some people are like that. I got this. But, the information on music is very less :( Novice7 | Talk 12:51, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
You know how long does it take for GA reviews? Novice7 | Talk 12:56, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
About the cover, yes, I thought the same thing too. It's awful :D I use this and this to get the information, and then search on Google. Hopefully, they have enough information. I'll ask Candy. I need to start working on other articles. Novice7 | Talk 12:59, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

You beat me to it!

Just when I was about to ask you whether that story about goat milk production increasing while the herd was listening to "All I Want for Christmas Is You" should be added to the article, you beat me to it! LOL! I just heard about it on the TODAY show in the last hour. You're amazing! --Sliv812 (talk) 16:41, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

I love it! You did a great job, Nathan! The only thing I'd like to change (though you have final say on all things involving MC on wikipedia...hehe.) is to capitalize "the chipmunks" since it's actually a reference to proper name for a recording artist. I'm going to boldly make the change; I hope you won't undo it. ;) --Sliv812 (talk) 23:02, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Hi Nathan. Please review all the recent, numerous edits made by Calliopejen1. I'm a bit concerned at the number and type of changes he's made. He's removed quite a bit of content. Thank you. --Sliv812 (talk) 20:11, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Some genre issues

I could do with your opinion at What's My Name? (Rihanna song) with some pretty determined editors who appear to be suggesting that all Rihanna song are only "R&B" and no other genres. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 19:59, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

RE:Sandbox

Hmm, I'm surprised you don't have one already, I have like thirty! Lol. Anyway, for an easy way, User:Petergriffin9901/Sandbox1 <--- click that link and there you go. If you want more just do another one with different numbers 2,3,4,5, and so on!! Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 01:26, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Also, jsyk, you cant include NFCC such as album covers and samples in sandboxes! Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 01:59, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Re

I think you should send an e-mail to RIANZ and ask about Mariah albums/singles/videos certifications. You can ask about Celine too. --Max24 (talk) 13:15, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

All I want FAC

Having a hard time? Feeling unhappy? This will definitely cheer you up, lol. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:32, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Glad I could help. Saw it at FAC and thought this could be a bit of an olive branch. :) Calliopejen1 (talk) 22:48, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Writing Abilities

While I wouldn't say that I am a genius when it comes to grammar, writing etc....I am pretty good at it, if you would like me to look at something I would gladly do it and recommend different ways of saying things. Is it for her Butterfly World Tour or her debut album?--Blackjacks101 (talk) 13:52, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Sure I'll look at it, is their a section in particular?--Blackjacks101 (talk) 18:07, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

K that's fine, I'll start as soon as possible--Blackjacks101 (talk) 18:15, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Before I start, do i have your permission change wording...I just read in the Background about how she agreed because shes Catholic.....perhaps it would be better if you say "Since Carey was brought up as Catholic, she commonly celebrated Christmas, therefore she agreed with the idea of creating a Christmas album."--Blackjacks101 (talk) 23:41, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

I think that makes sense......I personally am not religious so I'm not one to ask but I think that any branch of Christianity believes in god and celebrates Christmas, so ya i guess Christian would work--Blackjacks101 (talk) 00:13, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

I tried my best to re-word some things and add commas etc. The article is actually amazing, and I'm surprised that somebody would say there are many punctuation problems. I didn't find that many at all. I just reworded the lead a bit so it could flow more. Sorry that I couldn't do too much--Blackjacks101 (talk) 01:12, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Ya I hope it passes too, not only because it's an amazing song but because you have worked so hard on it. I'm planning on doing one of MC's article so if you ever want to do a joint article together I'd gladly work with you. I need to stop just reviewing GA's but actually creating them. I totally understand if you don't want to though because knowing me, I'd be asking you a lot of questions, mainly on citing references lol. --Blackjacks101 (talk) 01:25, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Is there a particular song that you recommend would be easy to start with?--Blackjacks101 (talk) 01:31, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks so much ;D--Blackjacks101 (talk) 01:54, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Take a look here. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 08:18, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes, of course, i would really like if you also develop a liking for Beyonce. Lol, i just noticed the broken link. By the way, i love the way Mariah taunts Eminem in Obsessed. I hate Eminem. By the way, is Nathan your real name. I really like it. I have never heard such a name before. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 10:34, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

I hate rap especially when it is abusive. I am from Mauritius and i am not a native speaker of "English". And you? Jivesh boodhun (talk) 10:48, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Here, night is going to fall in less than three hours. Anyway, is Legolas always so serious? I like his work a lot but..... I mean, there are so many people on Wikipedia who are very welcoming and kind of easy to communicate with. Anyway, just let it be. Tell me, what song of Mariah do you like the most? And do you know that Mariah and Beyonce are friends? Jivesh boodhun (talk) 11:38, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Sorry if i may seem naive to you, what are :) and :D? Jivesh boodhun (talk) 11:40, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for explaining these meanings to me. I have seen them several times but it is only today i know what they all mean. You haven't replied this Tell me, what song of Mariah do you like the most? And do you know that Mariah and Beyonce are friends? Jivesh boodhun (talk) 11:46, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Okay just suggest me some songs. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 12:58, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

OF COURSE, I KNOW A die-hard fan like me is bound to know everything about Queen B. And yes, i love all those songs except the last one, found on her thirteenth studio and second Christmas album. My favourites are "Obsessed", "Get Your Number", "We Belong Together", "Fantasy", "Bye Bye", "Angels Cry", "I Want To Know What Love Is". Jivesh boodhun (talk) 11:55, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi again, as you know i am working on "Single Ladies" since one week, i want to know if Chart Stasts is a good source or not? --Jivesh boodhuntalk2me 10:44, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Nathan. Actually Single Ladies peaked at 7 in the UK though it managed to sell over half a million copies there but i need to use Chart Stats because the important point is that it spent 72 weeks in the top 100. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 04:42, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Bosanquet

I really would prefer not to get into an argument. From the tone of your comments at the FAC and your previous comments which showed disenchantment with your FAC review in general, I assumed that you were retaliating. If I am wrong, I apologise and will strike my comment at the Bosanquet FAC. However, your comments seemed a little pointed and not really worth opposing about. But I could be wrong. Whatever, I have tried to address your points so far. As a peace offering, if I can help with any copy-editing of articles you are working on, I would be happy to do so. --Sarastro1 (talk) 10:47, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi

Well, for two reasons. First I want to be a better editor for when I have to deal with her most 'epic' material, and also I'm trying to keep a timeline for the articles I'm doing (though I'm dreading the day I'll have to do Britney & Kevin: Chaotic). I read through the AIWFCIY FA. Wow. Xwomanizerx (talk) 14:19, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry! I understand though. I'm completely scared about this. Check it out if you have time. Xwomanizerx (talk) 20:05, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

SoundScan sales figures for Mariah Carey's "Merry Christmas".

Hi Nathan:

Two different IP addresses have updated the Nielsen SoundScan sales total for MC's Merry Christmas within the Best-selling Christmas/holiday albums in the United States article to 5,108,657 without providing any updated reference. Do you know where they may have gotten this latest SoundScan sales figure from? I keep reverting the figure back to the last known total (5,100,000) from Billboard online article from a couple of weeks ago until someone can provide a valid reference, and I have no idea where they're getting this supposed new sales total from. Thanks. --Sliv812 (talk) 23:23, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, Nathan, I'll get around to updating the sales total and the reference in that article later (unless you wind up beating me to it. lol.). --Sliv812 (talk) 00:29, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
