DYK for Eleanor Nathan
On 2 November 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Eleanor Nathan, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Eleanor Nathan was a member of the London County Council representing two different parties and two different districts for a total of 16 years? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Eleanor Nathan. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Eleanor Nathan), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

The article Kate Brown (actress) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No evidence of meeting WP:NACTOR or WP:GNG. Essentially an unref blp too - no references, just an external link to imdb, which is specifically banned at WP:RELIABLESOURCES.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Boleyn (talk) 15:16, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
Warning (yet again)
Pat, you created Eleanor Nathan, another unreferenced articles. You are an experienced editor and have been asked to stop this numerous times. If it is that you intend to add a reference but are just taking your time, please work on the articles in draftspace first, and transfer it when it's ready. This wasted other editors' time, and all articles need references. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 13:20, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not aware that this procedure is compulsory. Somebody else did a lot to improve the article shortly after I created it. PatGallacher (talk) 23:44, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I missed your response here. The relevant guidelines are at WP:Verfiability: All material in Wikipedia mainspace, including everything in articles, lists and captions, must be verifiable. All quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, must include an inline citation that directly supports the material. Any material that needs a source but does not have one may be removed...All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and is satisfied by providing a citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution. I have also previously pointed out WP:BLPSOURCES and WP:INLINECITE: all blps need inline citations, including Romina Del Plá. Please start referencing properly - it makes it so much easier for readers and other editors. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 10:24, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
"Drive-by tagging"
What do you mean by "drive-by tagging" please?Zigzig20s (talk) 18:15, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
The term is a well-established one on Wikipedia, used for people who add tags willy-nilly to articles. In this case, it is not of great importance which plantations in Georgia her ancestors may have served on as slaves, and no big deal if we can't clarify this from this time away. PatGallacher (talk) 00:50, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- That's your opinion. We have details about her paternal line, and should have more about her maternal line, too.Zigzig20s (talk) 01:02, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- I don't entirely disagree, but the exact plantation may not be the important thing. PatGallacher (talk) 01:03, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- The Social Register published an article about Michelle Obama's ancestors a few years ago. Many people are interested in this. I don't think we should censor US history.Zigzig20s (talk) 01:42, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- I don't entirely disagree, but the exact plantation may not be the important thing. PatGallacher (talk) 01:03, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

sexual crime?
diff - hi, A sexual allegation has been made, do you think that warrants adding the recently deceased person to the Category:Sex crimes in the United Kingdom when no charges or any legal case have even started? I also think that WP:BDP is to apply to recently deceased people? Govindaharihari (talk) 01:04, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

- It is not only not vital it is against the simplist of wikipedia policies and it is an embarrasment on your 12 years and thousands of edits here that you added it. Govindaharihari (talk) 01:08, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on David Cassidy. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. -- ψλ ● ✉ ✓ 01:33, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

The article Paul Curran (actor) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Boleyn (talk) 22:17, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

Ok, I'm not going to contest deletion on this. To complicate matters, looking into this I think there could have been 2 actors called Paul Curran, and I'm not sure if either of them pass notability (combined they might have). PatGallacher (talk) 22:43, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mainumby
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mainumby requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. WWGB (talk) 04:33, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

Friendly notice
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have recently shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect: any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or any page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
Since you've briefly dipped your toes in the Donald Trump article, I'm giving you this friendly notice. It's sad that this sort of thing is necessary, but here we are! -- Scjessey (talk) 21:49, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

Do you? Or do you need consensus to delete properly sourced material? PatGallacher (talk) 20:24, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- Per the talk page
"Consensus required: All editors must obtain consensus on the talk page of this article before reinstating any edits that have been challenged (via reversion). This includes making edits similar to the ones that have been challenged. If in doubt, don't make the edit."
. PackMecEng (talk) 20:25, 26 July 2018 (UTC) - PackMecEng is correct and I came here to advise you of the same. A good move at this point would be to self-revert, thereby putting the article back into the correct state. ―Mandruss ☎ 14:14, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

References
Please add your references to Alfred Thomas Davies. Can you please explain why you persistently create unreferenced articles even though this has been raised with you many times over a period of years? Boleyn (talk) 20:59, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
River Tyne, Tasmania moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, River Tyne, Tasmania, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Note on adding unsourced content
Hey, I'm Flooded with them hundreds. I noticed that you added content to an article but didn't provide a reliable source. You should cite a reliable source for all of your edits so that they can be verified. In Wikipedia, verifiability means that other people using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source. Adding unsourced content contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial.
Wikipedia does not publish original research, which refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist. Its content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it. The verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. Articles should be based on reliable and published sources (see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view) and if no reliable sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.
Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Flooded with them hundreds 11:29, 22 November 2018 (UTC)

The article The Rover (story paper) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This stub has remained completely unsourced since it was tagged in 2010. Clearly not notable.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RolandR (talk) 16:52, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Sarah Craze

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Sarah Craze should be deleted. Your comments are welcome over Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sarah Craze .
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. . And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~

Thanks,

Afusat Saliu listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Afusat Saliu. Since you had some involvement with the Afusat Saliu redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 07:24, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
