"Reach for the Stars" game show

In case if you don't remember, that game show was produced by Merv Griffin Productions back then. So that game show is currently owned by Sony Pictures Television due to the fact that Merv Griffin sold Merv Griffin Enterprises to Columbia Pictures Television in 1986. Princess Waltz

I don't agree that my article breached any copyrighted material, I tried editing most articles but was hard pressed for time. Simply deleting the whole article instead of removing the parts which were copied seems a bit counter productive to me. Took me almost two hours to find the right "moonspeak" for the characters names. Having it all thrown out the window now means I have to sit through another grueling hour of copying moonspeak. Or maybe there some way for me to access my article and reedit it so I don't have to work from scratch? Also -- the help pages are crap. There is to much information non of which is easily accessed unless you have already been using the pages for some time.

Why did you delete the Ghoul page for the australian band

sorry, im up in arms about this deletion. it is a genuine band with genuine members... why did you delete it?

Thank you for the Princess Waltz information

I would like to thank you for your quick reply and resourcefulness. To be honest I am totally new at writing at Wikipedia. It is easy to make mistakes especially when it comes to the legal problems. You see to be very familiar with Wikipedia -- can you explain a bit more about the picture copyright issues? For instance, how do you add to special "tags" to pictures (it was mentioned in the legal issues) I was also wondering, exactly how far can one go when posting a picture? Editing a copyrighted picture is very easy, but from say a game then wouldn't all pictures from said game be copyrighted? wouldn't editing a picture bee seen as violating art? (or something?) So, say I get permission from Peach Princess -- how do I confirm this proof if say the permission was given in an email? (I haven't received any such permission, just asking for future clarification.)

ah sorry... I am asking you a bunch of questions offering nothing in return... I'm sorry.

I don't understand why you are going to delete this.

I don't understand why you are going to delete GATE Corporation (Prison Break). Whole descriptions of there are true, not fiction. You need to see S04E03 of Prison Break.

How do I post a new page?

Hi, I am new to Wikipedia, I am trying to post a page about an icon on the PGA Tour. My page was deleted for copyright infringement... is this because I have the same text on my website? Is it still infringement if I wrote the text that's on my site?

Thank you.

Deletion of Cassandra Freedman's page

I was wondering why my page Cassandra Freedman was deleted. It is a page about a recurring character from the soap opera 'Neighbours' which I was improving when it was deleted. From Fizzy1000

okay

then instead of going through this undelete process (seems like a waste of time) when all you have to do is simply restore the article allow me to remove anything that seems like i'm promoting projects. There are relevant facts and links, should I not link to specific websites? Although Steven Kim does work for them?

Please Don't Delete Article

Im doing this for school related and i would wish if it wasn't delete.

Patti Low

Why did you delete the article i made on Patti low, All the information checks out and isnt rude ignorant or wrong

Yeah

I get what you are saying. But the singer Patti Low doe'nt have much other portfolio then this. She did sing the lyrics to a song that charted at number 6 in this country and performend on Totp. I cant really say much else other then she was the face to a song that was popular at the time and is today still popular being covered by the klaxons and garlic.

I think its important she gets credit for her part in this song.

Indio is a term also used here in the philippines during colonial times

i've got a different articles for it. and at some point the term is also used by Spaniards to tagged Locals as the lowest of the society...

I've written the articles on my own words

as much as i could i wanna create this article in my own words i haven't used or copied a single sentence. just created it to make a more clearer

but you haven't stated how the spanish used the term in asia, you only focus on the term they used in americas

here they used it in a derogatory way, they sometimes meant low class

okay.. i appreciate the changes atleast you included it

but i hope to make more terms like the insulares and peninsulares

History

The band began as a side project of guitarist, Dylan Turner. At the time, Turner was in & out of various screamo bands. Although he enjoyed lighter music such as As Tall As Lions, Turner originally had thought the music was too light to even be brought to the public's attention. For the first while, he showed his first "non-screamo" song only to his brother. After gaining confidence & showing a few of his friends this lighter sound he was trying to achieve, Turner recruited Oscar Anderson-Shortt as vocals & Shaun O'Melia as a second guitarist. Shortly after this, Jamie Gorman joined the band on bass. Following Gorman were members of one of Turner's previous bands "Fear The Fall", Lee Famelos & Ronald Voth joined the group, adding drums & keyboard. The band played throughout the Niagara region over the course of 2007. Turner took it upon himself to record several of the bands tracks for a Writer's Craft assignment at his house which featured some additional vocals by Anderson-Shortt, second guitars by O'Melia, as well as software drums, but the band never recorded any of their material with the entire line-up.

During the winter of 2007/2008, several disputes & some miscommunication lead to Gorman, Voth, & Famelos leaving the band. Deciding to press onward with their musical vision, Turner brought in fellow classmate Dan Brennan on bass, as well as his brother, Myles Turner to fill in the percussion slot. With the member changes, the music started to become slightly heavier & the band continued playing around the Niagara region.

In the summer of 2008, the band decided that it needed to move in a different direction & on July 7th of 2008 it was announced that Brennan would be leaving the band, & taking his place would be former bass player, Jamie Gorman. Deciding to take a slightly different approach on newer material, the band started to focus their style to a more progressive nature. Moving toward this harsher sound, the band finally decided it was time to step into a studio. The band recorded a 6-song EP over the course of October 2008 to January 2009 at Mastermind Studios in Hamilton, Ontario with producer & fellow band mutual friend, Josh Korody of Waterbodies.

Recently, the band has participated in 102.1 The Edge's "Search for the Next Cutting Edge Artist" competition. The finals of the competition will play Mix Master Mike of The Beastie Boys as well as 6 other bands for the chance to be the next "Cutting Edge" artist.

Medical tourism in India

You deleted Medical tourism in India citing "Copy of existing article under implausible title".

This is an important sector in India and deserves its own article. Previously there were various paragraphs in articles such as Medical tourism and Healthcare in India, these were getting too large.

Decotwister is not made up

This is a real article in which I am trying to provide a definition for a word that is VERY common in the balloon industry. Just because it is not a term that you are familiar with, does not mean it's "made up", in fact, the very reason that I'm writing this article is so that when I refer to Decotwisting in another article I'm working on, readers will be able to understand the term. Is this not the whole point of Wikipedia?

Thank you

Hello again

My article for BDSM: It's Not What You Think! was deleted again. But the notation is unclear to me. Was the limbo status that you set it in set to expire after a certain amount of time?

I'm sorry to take your time, I know that you volunteer for this work, I'm just uncertain as to what I may need to do to keep it up/get it back up.

I know that you had said in the prior deletion that the sites were maybe a bit suspect. I just want to add that the Frameline Film Festival is the oldest and largest LGBT film festival in the world and very credible. This is where the film had it's premier. CineKink (were the film was given Honorable Best Mention) and Traum Kino Fetisch Film Festival (were the film was also reviewed) are also established film festivals.

Also, the documentary is education based and thus academic. It's participants are very credentialed and prominent in the community which adds immensely to the credibility of the film.

As I mentioned the BDSM community is a very marginalized community and many of the stereotypes addressed in this film have caused people to loose jobs, friends, and family. There is a serious and urgent need to combat this oppression. This is an important film to the BDSM community that is perfect for the classroom, individuals, and organizations doing outreach.

When I posted the article I was looking at several other documentary articles and the only difference appears to be their HBO affiliation and that they are established filmmakers. I feel that just because this film has not aired on television or been produced by big names does not make it less encyclopedic. I imagine that this film will be used and remembered by folks in the BDSM community long after it's relevancy expires.

I'm sorry to be long winded - I hope you will reconsider publishing the article or giving me some more detailed pointers about how I can establish it's credibility further.

Thanks again for your time spent, Diaphanousolid (talk) 00:58, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

5 pillars of evil of a WP:Rouge admin

Especially the first one

The proper behavior of a Rouge administrator can be described by five pillars of evil that define their character:

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia incorporating only material deemed to be "encyclopedic". This term need not have a consistent definition, but is always in alignment with whatever an administrator thinks.

Wikipedia has a neutral point of view, and, since administrators are community-appointed stewards, whose point of view could possibly be more neutral?

Wikipedia is free content that anyone may edit. All text is available under the purview of Wikipedia administrators and must be distributed or linked according to their wishes. Recognize that articles can be changed by anyone, but only admins control articles.

Wikipedia has a code of conduct: Respect the authority of administrators even when you may not agree with them. Be civil (note: ordinary users only). Avoid edit wars with admins, as they are always right; remember that there are 6,908,169 other articles on the English Wikipedia to work on and discuss, so why don't you go somewhere else if you've got a problem? Act in good faith (Note: administrators can still assume bad faith on your part), and assume good faith on the part of administrators.

Wikipedia does not have firm rules for administrators.

Note

This page describes Rouge administrators' fundamental principles. These principles pre-date the creation of this page.

Mike's Murder

Hello, I have been trying to create a page for the film Mike's Murder with the formula Mike's Murder (film) Mike's Murder, because it got confused with a pre-existing page about a Joe Jackson record which was the films soundtrack album. Now it has got confused and so when you visit Debra Wingers page, she is the lead actress in the film, Mikes Murder is in red , page does not exist, when I think I have created the page. The history is 1. Mikes Murder, the record page existed, nothing to do with me. 2. I created a page for the film, still new to wikipedia , without the (film) added and yet the page was allowed. 3. I wanted to eliminate lack of clarity and tried to create a page with the proper Mike's Murder(film)|Mike's Murder formula and have run into problems . can you advise me how to sort this out? at the moment on Debra Wingers page if I click on the film Mikes Murder it says page does not exist but I think Ive written it. Frustrating. Sorry about thisSayerslle (talk) 22:41, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Move Assistance.

Hello!

I am in need of a little assistance in moving a page. I would like to move Wayne Marshall (conductor) back to Wayne Marshall as the conductor is the main use of the name. Another editor decided to move the page to (conductor) to make room for a non-notable DJ. The Wayne Marshall page was then turned into a DAB page. I moved the DAB page to Wayne Marshall (disambiguation) but now need to move Wayne Marshall (conductor) back to Wayne Marshall. Unfortunately we now need admin assistance to move these pages. Is there anything you can do to help?--gordonrox24 (talk) 23:24, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks a lot! Have a good weekend as well.--gordonrox24 (talk) 23:43, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Mike's Murder, last try at explaining

But the thing is if you go to the Debra Winger page and click on Mikes Murder in her filmography it says the page doesnt exist, and it does exist, and when it goes to the page explaining that its been deleted it doesnt say right because there is a page on Mikes Murder , the film. Go to Hooked the page on Pauline Kaels book and click on Mikes Murder and it goes to the film page, so all thats frustrating me is that on Debra Wingers page it doesn't link up correctly. Please don't get mad, if you can't be bothered with this and it's not important really, just frustrating , just forget about it, but I haven't broken any copyrightSayerslle (talk) 00:14, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey PMD. Are you ready for the weekend? I was curious about this article. The editor who created usually add useful stuff. I see it's been deleted a few times now. Is it something that just needs a couple citations? ChildofMidnight (talk) 01:46, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

The Detroit Partnership Page

I recently came across the wiki page The Detroit Project, in which the second section, labelled 'The Detroit Project at the University of Michigan' contains a good deal of old, and now incorrect, information about an organization of which I am a part. First, the organization is now called 'The Detroit Partnership'. Additionally, there was a good deal of seemingly biased language used (likely written by past members of the organization). I chose to start a new page under the title, 'The Detroit Partnership' and move some of the information over to this page while also editing for greater neutrality, updated information (from the official website with citation and personal knowledge) and greater focus on providing references for information provided (IMO). The two new pictures that I added were from the wikimedia commons (I added the pictures and have ownership over them). I believe that the page should be reinstated since it is only improving on a current site. If there are additional things that I need to do to the site to make it more wikipedia friendly, please let me know. I am relatively new to wikipedia and mainly joined based on the desire to fix this problem. Thank you. DetroitRebirth (talk) 02:52, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your help; I will continue to edit the existing page. One question: the existing page has the wrong name (The Detroit Project vs. The Detroit Partnership). How do I go about moving the information to the new name without affecting the other information on that page (The Detroit Project page refers to two different organizations and I only want to move information about the student group to a new page labelled with the new name while leaving the information about the environmental group labelled with the original name). How do I do this? DetroitRebirth (talk) 16:51, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Dhillon Farm Doburji

Hi PMDrive,

I've tried to create the Wikipedia page on Dhillon Farm Doburji and it has been deleted twice by you. i request you not to delete this as I am awaiting further inputs from my family members. Infact this article was deleted even before i finished typing my explaination for the hangon on the talk page of this page. This is what I had written (but sadly the page got deleted before i even finished this):

The request against speedy deletion for this page comes as this Farm has a history behind it. I am awaiting for inputs from my father, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon as he knows the history of the Farm much better than me. Request you to hold the deletion of this page until further contributions. Harmandeep Singh Dhillon

I request you to please wait for a while while i finish editing this page. Thanks Harmandeep Singh Dhillon Harman83in (talk) 02:47, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Richard Callner page

Hey, You deleted a new page that I just created. I had added a {hangon} comment, and wrote a little bit in the talk section about what was happening, but the page was still deleted - only hours after it was created. The copyright infringement tag was incorrect, and I was waiting for the owner to send me an email confirmation tomorrow. The owner of the artist's website is the one that asked me to put that same information on Richard Callner's corresponding wikipage.

I know that I am technically a new user. But I have edited and created articles in the past (more than a year ago) with a different a username (that I just couldn't remember ... at all). I understand that there were copyright problems and I had begun to address them. But before I had a chance to do anything, the article was gone.

I would appreciate it if the article could be brought back so I could fix the issues, and provide the proper permissions.

Thanks. Melissamykal (talk) 04:06, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey,

Thanks for your reply and your explanation. Can you at least undelete the page and just remove the top biography section that was causing the problem. The rest of the page should have been fine. That way I don't have to rewrite the whole thing from scratch, I'll only have to deal with the biography section.

Thanks again. Melissamykal (talk) 03:18, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi again, Thanks for trying to restore it. An emailed copy would be great! melissa.mykal (at) gmail (dot) com Please just erase the email after you send the message.

Thanks again for all of your help. Richard's widow gave me the information to use, so I'll work on rewriting it all and try to create the page again. :-) Melissamykal (talk) 03:06, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Bob's Game protection/deletion

Currently the Bob's Game page is under protection for having been constantly recreated/deleted. I did not take part in any previous contributions to the page (or even get to see it unfortunately) and would like the opportunity to do a better job. I have created a couple of other video game articles and have a number of sources that can be used e.g. Destructoid Escapist Kotaku Joystiq for starters. The game has a good amount of coverage, has released a playable demo, and now has been officially commented on by Nintendo. Let me know!

PUNTACANA Resort & Club query

April 14, 2009

Thank you so much for your feedback regarding the PUNTACANA Resort & Club entry. The resort is my client and large chunks of the entry were based on information found on their website. Would you mind letting me know which parts of the entry were problematic? And where on the original source website would we have to place the statement releasing the text? Can we include it in the "About Us" section - or does it have to be directly under the replicated text?

Thank you so much for your help.

Request for undeletion

Hello PMDrive1061. Apparently, you speedy-deleted Hélène Bizot at the request of a user that didn't take the time to contact me as the creator. I don't know in what state you found this article when you was asked to delete it, but I remember clearly in what state I left it:

  • with external links to imdb and ANN, both proving this actress participated to 20+ movies
  • with an IWL to its French counterpart
  • with an unreferenced (I admit) mention to her relationship to Depardieu and to their child, which is absolutely no secret (just take one second to Google for Depardieu+Bizot) and far far from any kind of libel. I believe this is the main reason for the deletion
  • puny, I confess, but not as poorly referenced as to deserve a speedy deletion, IMHO

Unless 20+ films are not sufficient to meet the notability requirements, could you please restore this article? I will gladly provide the missing information and references that were needed. Thank you. — Xavier, 20:37, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I got bored this afternoon and have decided to tackle Butte County. USGS is a treasure trove of material. Hopefully, no one will try to delete them. What good is hangon?

I was just passing by and noticed that a CSD was added to the newly created Footballing canons article, and that the user responded with a {{hangon}} and a statement implying that references were forthcoming (haven't got them yet or something). So why delete it anyway without giving the editor a chance to expand on the page and its references? Although this may have eventually proven unworthy, it did not seem obviously so (IMHO). -- Tcncv (talk) 00:24, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

The user also created the new Canonization index (football), which seems to be sourced from a single magazine article. Possibly AFD material if it appears to be material with no potential future. But who knows, every new editor has the potential to become a major contributor some day. -- Tcncv (talk) 00:35, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Looks like another administrator came along and deleted the Canonization index (football) anyway for lack of content. Interestingly, I didn't another speedy deletion alert on Mpaton2009's talk page, but I don't know what policy allows. -- Tcncv (talk) 01:40, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Wanting to Start A Page that was Marked for Quick Deletion

So my group, Coloholics, wishes to create a page here on Wikipedia as it is a mass RPG site. However, the page was marked for Quick Deletion back in March and when I tried to make it once more it was quickly deleted again. Can I please ask if there's a way to not delete it, because I think Coloholics having a page will increase membership and also inform people about what our group does. Could you please get back to me about this? Revan46 02:39, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure if all of the user pages created by this user were sockpuppets, as I think it's unlikely a user could create so many accounts so quickly in that way without other accounts appearing in between, also one is requesting to be unblocked. It looks like the vandal just opened all the user pages from the user creation log or recent changes and copied the text into each of them. —Snigbrook 22:49, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Inclusion of uninhabited sites under "Unincorporated communities" section

Greetings. I have stumbled across the San Bernardino County template many times over the years and have always wondered about the "Unincorporated communities" section. Over the past years, this section has expanded to include former communities that are currently uninhabited and now only exist in name. As a researcher of historic San Bernardino County desert communities, I am very familiar with the history of many of these settlements and can confirm that a good number of the locations listed in this section are completely abandoned. Here are some examples:

  • Bagdad : A former mining community that existed into the 1950's, all that remains here as of 2009 is a cemetery.
  • Cadiz : A former railroad water stop, all that remains here as of 2009 are building foundations.
  • Siberia : A former railroad water stop, all that remains here as of 2009 are building ruins of a former service station.

The question may come down to what qualifies a location as "unincorporated" -- from my understanding, it signifies that there is in fact, residents present at the location although their form of local government lacks formal incorporated or census-designated place (CDP) status. I encourage contributors to view County templates of other municipalities to see what the rule of thumb is for including uninhabited settlements/ghost towns in the "Unincorporated communities" section. One contributor has suggested to follow the Yuba County template example by creating a new section called "Ghost Towns". Please share your views and comments on the San Bernardino template talk page whenever you get the chance. Thanks! --Djrun (talk) 01:54, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

sockpuppets

Thanks for the tip. Did you just catch it through the new users log? Abuse filter 129 has also been put in place to identify possible new articles by this idiot. Pascal.Tesson (talk) 02:14, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't think the abuse filter can currently review new usernames. But you can probably ask someone who, unlike me, actually knows what he's talking about at Wikipedia:Abuse filter/Requested. By the way, did you see that your request for a CU has been denied? I think the clerk was simply unaware of the repeated CUs that have been used to impose range blocks and identify accounts that flew under the radar. Pascal.Tesson (talk)

I am attempting to make a page about a new association dealing with the electronic cigarette. What is the problem? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jwatt10k (talkcontribs) 22:37, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

It wasn't an attack article. I was just forking content in order to do an NPOV check. I would like to ask you to restore the page. There really was a scandal, see for instance Sexual abuse scandal in Boston archdiocese. See also User:Blanchardb, who signaled the alarm. Would it be better to attempt Deletion review ? Sorry, but I don't understand why I can't add a new link to a website that I think it could be interesting for the commnity. It's not advertising but it is related to the page. Anyway there are also other links in the same page like mine. I hope you may explain me what is wrong. Thanks,

Thanks very much. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the subject and so couldn't say which version is accurate: I hope that once it's semi'd, an established user will show up and put it right. --Rrburke(talk) 01:32, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I've only seen a handful of episodes -- it's really quite funny. I just don't watch a lot of TV, so have never followed it regularly and also don't which is the right version. I notice that an editor who has only been around for four days just edited the article -- doesn't semi-p prevent that? --Rrburke(talk) 01:41, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of Época article

Dear Administrator, I welcome your action against User:Epocamusic. However, you deleted the article Época that was being vandalized by this suspected sockpuppet. I originally created this article in 2008 regarding this Brazilian magazine, which together with Veja (magazine) they are the equivalent in Brazil of Time (magazine) and Newsweek. On May 6, 2009, Epocamusic substituted the content of the original article with his edit on his musical group. I reverse it twice and ask for him to follow Wiki policy and create a new separate article see here. However, you deleted the article, I guess with Epocamusic content. Therefore, I respectfully request you reconsider this delete and restore the original content about the Brazilian magazine. If you agree, I think it can be restored and renamed Época (magazine) to avoid any future name conflicts.--Mariordo (talk) 11:25, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

PriceDoc.com Entry

Hello, you deleted an entry I created for PriceDoc.com, a new website that lets people looking for various healthcare procedures compare prices online. You deleted it saying the importance of entry was not stated; how do I remedy this? William Wedig (filmmaker) Entry

Hi. This is William Wedig and yes I did create a page for myself, but I do have multiple film credits which are available to the public for purchase. Being a filmmaker and somewhat of a public figure, I know it's hard to post your own page (as it can be seen as self promotion). I don't intend to have the page simply be that and as such I did link to both my imdb page and my personal domain (although that might have been where the problem was, my personal page). That link can be removed but I was only using other filmmakers pages as examples for how to format mine with only factual referenced materials (for instance a link to Steven Spielberg.com or something of similar nature).

Please recheck my imdb page and see that the film, Rise of the Dead, is very much available and has an extremely wide release through Lions Gate Home Entertainment.

Thanks again and I hope you will reverse the page deletion.

Thanks, William Wedig (talk) 7:20pm, 8 May 2009 (GMT)

Thanks for the addition! My apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Insufficient recent activity?

Hi, PMDrive1061. I don't understand your response here with regard to 85.119.112.nnn. This user's willful refusal to heed appropriately sequential warnings over the last several contiguous days (including today) seems to me both sufficient and recent enough to merit something more than "keeping an eye on" him or her. S/he is deliberately, repeatedly, and persistently damaging an article, and has been appropriately warned; please explain why you will not now act to stop it. How many times must this user repeat the same vandalism before you consider it "sufficient" to put a stop to it? Thank you. —Scheinwerfermann T·C18:03, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your note, but I'm not sure I've explained the problem to you clearly enough. Again: this abusive editor's IP changes each and every time. It always starts with 85.119.112, but the last two or three digits are always different. So, blocking 85.119.112.235 didn't stop the abusive editor from doing it yet again. This editor is effectively laying siege to Economy car. Are you able and willing to address the problem comprehensively, or would it be better for me to take it back to AIV? —Scheinwerfermann T·C02:26, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks much. It looks as if this has put an effective stop to the disruptions for now, though I'm not entirely confident they won't resume later. Now I feel comfortable with a "keep an eye on it" approach. —Scheinwerfermann T·C16:28, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Opinion? You added a COI tag after it was tagged for speedy, so I wasn't sure if that meant you were declining the speedy or wanted a second opinion. I (I think) made a username block, and when we only have one contributor with obvious COI about a company that provides services to other organizations (in this case, the US military) rather than to consumers, with no sources, I'm not entirely comfortable with simply dropping the question of deletion. On the other hand, the article seems to be well-written and there are a lot of archives/books/scholar hits. Suggestions? (Watchlisting) - Dank (push to talk) 13:50, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Yamh91

I'm running off, so I won't be able to reply for a few hours, but I'm curious: when an editor has removed so many AFD notices that he has already been blocked for it for 24 hours just two days ago, why is another warning appropriate instead of applying a new block? Feel free to discuss at the ANI thread that's already open.—Kww(talk) 22:27, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

I realized thinking about this that I not only sounded torqued off (which I was a bit ... I hate having an AIV report treated as if I had inadequately warned the person I was reporting), but also left the impression that I opened an ANI report in retaliation. I didn't do that ... the ANI report over Yamh91's removal of AFD tags and the like has been open for days.—Kww(talk) 03:16, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

R Flat

That is the reason that I thought it was necessary to put on Wikipedia, I couldn't find any online information on R flat. Maybe I was hoaxed, I honestly don't know but what I wrote was in good intentions. Anyways, since you are a musician I would have thought you could come to appreciate theoretical notes. You don't write music with a double sharp, you change the note so it is a whole step up. In that kind of situation, the theory of R Flat was created. You don't conventionally write a triple flat, you just change the note accordingly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andy691337 (talkcontribs) 22:27, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

What Can I Do To Get A Category Changed?

PMDrive1061,

Can you tell me what I have to do to get the article categorized? I do not know what my current category is or how to change it. I am happy to do what I need to do if I find out what that means and how to do it.

Please check your last post to rbrim for more details.

PMDrive1061,

Please answer this post.

Last April, our post at Managepro was removed by another person. You reviewed the article and indicated you did not see why the article had been deleted. You indicated that you felt the article was good and you were going to have another person review it to confirm. Then, you indicated that the article was "Wow" and good. You indicated that the article should be recategorized and restored to the net. Then, you left for the last days of April. Since you returned in May, you have not responded to my posts. Please let me know what is wrong. Have I offended you in some way? Is the article acceptable? Can you help me get the article reclassified? What do I need to do to get the article to be reclassified? PLEASE answer, even if it is only to tell me to leave you alone.

Rick the Stick vs. deletion...

I am trying to add a wikipedia entry entitled "Rick the Stick", which is a webcomic that is getting national and international viewers. Each time I attempt to post to wikipedia information on this webcomic and the artist who has created it the page continues to be deleted. I don't meant to seem like I'm representing an entire community, but webcomics as a whole are being deleted on a regular basis from Wikipedia. I know these do not come across as notabily profound articles, but neither are TV episodes, yet they continue to get posted and updated on a regular basis.

Webcomics have national meetings NEWW for example as well as many of the artists that people follow on the Comic-Con circuits are now publishing webcomics. What can we do as a community of artists to make sure we are given the same inclusion to Wikipedia as a TV Series does?

Your allegations of copyright violations on East Bay Bicycle Coalition article

You've deleted the East Bay Bicycle Coalition article rather hastily in my opinion, alleging "unambiguous copyright violations?" Care to eleborate? I've carefully written the content here so as to avoid such concerns, and will be adding more to it over the coming hours and days, particularly sources with more objective information. Why the speedy deletion? Also, did you have to template my talk page? CriticalChris 23:22, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Indefinite block of User:Cauterfan123

I feel compelled to tell you that I think the actions you took against User:Cauterfan123 were a little extreme. Obviously, I agree with the removal of the non-notable band article, since I'm the one who put it up for speedy deletion. However, I was shocked to find that you had indiscriminately deleted all the images he uploaded. None of the images had been there for the usual 7-day grace period before deletion. Furthermore, at least one of those images, the (admittedly ineptly named) File:This is a picture of a cd.jpg, probably qualified for fair use in the Disguises (album) article. I had just put everything in place on that page except a fair-use rationale, and I expected that he would have seven days to learn to create one.

I also think he deserved a little more warning before an indefinite block. The word "block" was nowhere to be found on his talk page until you added it, so he probably had no idea his actions could lead to a block. I know I wasn't expecting one!

At this point, I wouldn't expect or ask you to back down. I'm not sure there's anything to be done this time except wait and see if he appeals the block. But if I were doing something wrong, I would appreciate some more warning before an indefinite block. And I hope you won't mind if I try to explain the reasons for the block a little more clearly on his talk page.

If there were other circumstances I'm not aware of, or you want to reply in general, please let me know about the reply on my talk page. Thanks! — Ken g6 (talk) 17:11, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

You recently deleted my article on Mark Titus, and used vandalism as your reasoning. The article contained only true data and was about a significant person. I was wondering why you pegged it for deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhigh 43 (talkcontribs) 22:59, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Would you be interested in joining this project? We need more editors who share a burden for rescuing promising editors who have gotten into serious trouble because of behavioral issues. IF (a fundamental condition!) they are interested in reforming and adapting to our standards of conduct, and are also willing to abide by our policies and guidelines, rather than constantly subverting them, we can offer to help them return to Wikipedia as constructive editors. Right now many if not most users who have been banned are still active here, but they are here as socks or anonymous IPs who may or may not be constructive. We should offer them a proper way to return. If you think this is a good idea, please join us. Abce2|AccessDenied 03:55, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

I Seek To Help & Repair! (talk) 06:04, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that you deleted A.S.A. witch redirects to ASA for the reason "R3: Recently-created, implausible redirect", but it does not seem implausible to me. An acronym sometimes has periods after the abbreviated parts of the acronym, for example you may find "'''U'''nited '''S'''tates of '''A'''merica" (not abbreviated) written as "U.S.A." (with periods) USA (without periods), "Sonar" (without periods) written as "sound navigation and ranging" (not abbreviated), or so.n.a.r. (with periods). When I search for acronyms I tend to use periods, so the redirect is useful to me , and if it is useful to me, it is probably is useful to others.--Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 13:16, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Another argument in favor of un-deleting "A.S.A.". Because I have already convinced you to un-delete "A.S.A.." it is a bit late to be making this argument, but it could apply in other similar circumstances so what the heck. Does the redirect do any harm?--Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 17:27, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Your Pwn Userbox

Just to let you know that I have shamelessly ripped off your "pwn" userbox. As I am not an admin, I had to tweak the link to my contributions, but since most of my edits are vandal reverts/reports to AIV I think that the meaning is still the same. If you have a problem with this, just let me know and I'll delete it. Thanks, --T'Shael MindMeld 23:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Response

Thanks. I am trying to do all of California - Imperial County currently - as well as cleaning up some of the prior stuff - like improper redirects and misspellings that I find along the way - even creating a bunch of disambiguation pages when the place name is not the only one of its kind or has numerous people with similar names or surnames, like Mesquite (disambiguation), etc. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 23:47, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Towerstream page deleted

Hello -

I do not wish to cause trouble or samelessly promote a corporation. This is one of my first wiki posts, and I was still in the middle of posting while my page was deleted. I hadn't had a chance to properly add all my data, which was well supported by references and was going to be very similar to the Clearwire page, which is a company within Towerstream's industry.

What can I do to have a chance to post the whole page before its reviewed for deletion?

Thanks, Amesbc (talk) 01:09, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Amy

Bosnian mujahideen

Dear Mod,

Thanks for your advice, and a fair warning, but I really really think that the article Bosnian mujahideen is filled with unsourced propaganda. It glorifies drugged up, criminal, muslim/arab terrorists who have come to torture and slit throats of non-muslim population in Bosnia as salvation flower peace army. There is plenty of footage that they filmed themselves of what type of savage things they have done to Bosnian (Serb/Croat) population.

I am not asking you to take sides, and I will not do any more edits to that article, but I ask you to please you yourself or someone else read the article very carefully look at the sources, and most importantly all sentences that are not sourced, and I bet you will clearly see its biased nature.

I really think it's due for unbiased cleanup.

Much appreciated. Onyxig (talk) 19:43, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your reply! I just thought if any unbiased mods can look at it it would be great, but I'll slowly start adding real sources, and slowly editing it. I am proud of who I am and I know lot of crap has been done on all sides, but very unfair to always blame one. Sadly I see a lot of articles taking these turns, but hopefully time will do justice, and they'll become more objective. Thanks again! :) Onyxig (talk) 23:42, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi there. You recently blocked the above user as the Joker vandal, but he came into #wikipedia-en-unblock connect contesting her block. She claims not to be the joker vandal and I can't see any evidence disputing the fact. She sounded genuine and confused about the whole thing. Admittedly I'm not familiar with the Joker vandal, but could you possibly review the situation and explain the block in more detail? Thank you. PeterSymonds (talk) 09:47, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Hijacking username requests, especially via SUL, is a common JarlaxleArtemis/Grawp tactic. I've provided some diffs on the user's talk page. I would not rely on the username request before the username was registered as the only supporting evidence for the block. -- zzuuzz (talk) 13:58, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I have continually grown on Wikipedia(as you can see) and would like to take a farther step. I was interested in bots. Is it possible for me to have one?

Please don't bite the Newbies

Your uncommented revert of the only edit by User:Lickfett and subsequent vandal warning to him was uncalled for. The information was correct - and there is no requirement that every fact on Wikipedia by referenced by an online source. This situation is what the {{fact}} template is for. CANCERSLUG deleted page

I just spent 2 hours working on that page, as well as finding links and sources. Why was it deleted AGAIN?! The band is most CERTAINLY notable, which is easily noticed when doing a google search, for one. They have been around for a decade and created a huge following, especially in the southern US. Why do YOU determine if they are notable or not?

Hi,

I am new to adding content.

So I create a page and save it and then go back and keep adding content and references.

But my page for Koi Fariyaad, a beautiful song from the 2001 Hindi movie, Tum Bin, was deleted within 2 minutes of my creating it.

Please advice.

IP block

I see you have blocked IP 79.31.30.155. I just wanted you to know that I was not mindlessly hitting the red button. I was trying to be careful and revert those edits that were flag icon changes with no correspsonding changes in the values on those lists. The incremental changes in the values the IP was making were not something I felt comfortable in reverting (although I'm very leery as to the worth of the edits). I know that HG users are sometimes suspect in our use of the tool, but I'm always aware of the vandalism vs "that just doesn't look right" battle. Not that I'm always right, but I try. If you have any input or criticism, please let me know. Thanks Tiderolls 17:48, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Why is this user blocked indefinitely with account creation disabled? From the user's contributions, this user performed on two reverts (so didn't violate the three-revert rule) and only violated Wikipedia:No personal attacks twice. User:1985MANAmericana Television Radio sock?

While checkuser evidence may prove me wrong, I think there is a very strong chance this new user is not a sock of Television Radio.

His unblock request is properly formatted (correct brackets), and has coherent spelling and grammar, all apparently outside of TV Radios skill set, as displayed by his previous edits. I also do not recall TV Radio ever creating a new article on his own in the past. If this is him, it's a new, unexpected twist in his tale, which has been fairly predictable in the past few months. This new user just doesn't seem to fit the previously established behavior pattern. I'd ask that, if possible, please checkuser this new editor against TV Radio, and unblock if he appears innocent.
