Speedy deletion of Footballing canons

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Footballing canons requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Abce2 (talk) 23:48, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Canonization index (football), without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:01, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Canonization index (football). Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:01, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Canonization index (football). If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Eeekster (talk) 00:03, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Personal note

[edit]

Hello and thank you for your contributions. Wikipedia is always looking for new editors and your efforts are much appreciated. That said, please be aware that the the criteria for notability and reliable sources on articles often leads to the speedy deletion of new articles (as you have already experienced), and even if initially retained, the article may become the subject of further review. The article you are currently working on appears to be sourced from a single magazine article, contains subjective material, and may have limited opportunity for future maintenance to keep it up-to-date. That probably makes it a borderline case as to whether it is retained or is eventually deleted. If it is retained, congratulations. If not, please do not take it personally. There are many other opportunities to contribute and we hope you will stay. Thank you. -- Tcncv (talk) 00:54, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
