- I have been working insane hours so only performed a quick read-over. I am a proponent that unless something in the lead (See: MOS:INTRO) is controversial (challenged or likely to be challenged - See; WP:REDFLAG) it does not really need references as long as it is a concise overview (See: MOS:CITELEAD and WP:Lead dos and don'ts) of what is found and sourced in the body. I think it makes the article look better when the lead is not unnecessarily cluttered with sources but there is neither a requirement or prohibition.
- Each sentence does not require referencing, especially to the same link(s) or the sometimes redundant triplet of referencing, that can be seen as over-referencing. I think it is a better presentation when there is paragraph sourcing. Unless something in particular is contested simple paragraph sourcing will generally suffice.
- Not being a genre of my particular interest: The article has sources that advance notability, not too long of a plot (that is also sourced), balanced with negative reviews, and overall was an interesting read. Otr500 (talk) 10:17, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

- I see that. I am elated when I see editors opinioned that sourcing is important. An area often overlooked (or not deemed as important as it should be) is that the criteria that determines "if" a source and inline citation is needed is: WP:Verifiability,
In the English Wikipedia, verifiability means other people using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source
. This does not present any confusion to me although some editors argue that verifiability actually means it is "out there somewhere" but not necessarily on the article. It is actually simple to me and wikilawyered by some to create confusion,All quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, must include an inline citation that directly supports the material.
, removes any doubt (to me and many others) as to what the word "verifiability" actually means on Wikipedia as well as the given and accepted definition. The main reason to expect that demands of sourcing is fundamentally important is to ensure that material in the article is not original research, as well as the mandate of where the burden lies when content is contested. Wikipedia is advanced as being a lagging indicator of what has already been "reported" and the only way to to know this when reading content is by sourcing. - There is still bloat, like the current #7 citation (O'Sullivan, Michael (21 September 2001) gives a tie-in and memorial to Marlene Dietrich that is just not needed in the citation because the citation should provide WP:Text–source integrity. The Alfar, Paolo (11 October 2020) citation also has unnecessary extra "comments". If these "added" comments are important they can just as easily be incorporated into the article leaving the citation to stand as the verification and not backup article content. I feel the same about the need to bloat the "External links" section with either unnecessary links or possibly relevant links that would be better suited as a source for content. Because a link is considered primary is not a reason it cannot be used as a source. Anyway, thanks for reading my comments especially finding them helpful and your contributions. - A request for comment seeks to grant page movers the

Technical news
- When blocking an IPv6 address with Twinkle, there is now a checkbox with the option to just block the /64 range. When doing so, you can still leave a block template on the initial, single IP address' talkpage.
- When protecting a page with Twinkle, you can now add a note if doing so was in response to a request at WP:RfPP, and even link to the specific revision.
- There have been a number of reported issues with Pending Changes. Most problems setting protection appear to have been resolved (phab:T273317) but other issues with autoaccepting edits persist (phab:T275322).

Points can be earned through reviewing articles on the AutoCheck report, reviewing articles listed at WP:MILHIST/ASSESS, reviewing MILHIST-tagged articles at WP:GAN or WP:FAC, and reviewing articles submitted at WP:MILHIST/ACR. Service awards and barnstars are given for set points thresholds, and the top three finishers will receive further awards. Technical news
- When you move a page that many editors have on their watchlist the history can be split and it might also not be possible to move it again for a while. This is because of a job queue problem. (T278350)
- Code to support some very old web browsers is being removed. This could cause issues in those browsers. (T277803)

I noticed that your edit to Inuit included adding {{dead link}}. That reference was already marked as dead and linked to https://web.archive.org/web/20110511084622/http://www.aurora-inn.mb.ca/borealis.html. Was there a particular reason for the template? I was "attempting" to identify tags, such as "Articles with dead external links from November 2016" and Articles with unsourced statements from July 2020, so I could look for references. I hid the quote because I figured there was a source. I was called into work and tried (and failed) to get to a closing point and missed the archive. - Wikimedia previously used the IRC network Freenode. However, due to changes over who controlled the network with reports of a forceful takeover by several ex-staff members, the Wikimedia IRC Group Contacts decided to move to the new Libera Chat network. It has been reported that Wikimedia related channels on Freenode have been forcibly taken over if they pointed members to Libera. There is a migration guide and Wikimedia discussions about this.
Arbitration
- After a Clarification request, the Arbitration Committee modified Remedy 5 of the Antisemitism in Poland case. This means sourcing expectations are a discretionary sanction instead of being present on all articles. - Consensus has been reached to delete all books in the book namespace. There was rough consensus that the deleted books should still be available on request at WP:REFUND even after the namespace is removed.
- An RfC is open to discuss the next steps following a trial which automatically applied pending changes to TFAs.
Technical news
- IP addresses of unregistered users are to be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed at the talk page.
Arbitration
- The community authorised COVID-19 general sanctions have been superseded by the COVID-19 discretionary sanctions following a motion at a case request. Alerts given and sanctions placed under the community authorised general sanctions are now considered alerts for and sanctions under the new discretionary sanctions.

Fixing your talk page archiving
Hi! It looks like your automatic talk page archiving is currently not working. If you want to fix that, I recommend that you place {{Db-author}} on /Archive 1, so that it will be deleted. Then, you can move /Archive 58 to /Archive 1. Next, fix the settings at the top of this page by capitalizing the "O" in your username (archive = User talk:Otr500/Archive %(counter)d) and setting the counter to 1. Alternatively, I can do it for you, but I didn't want to start messing around in your talkspace without your permission. - It worked, and most of it has been archived. The rest will be archived when it's old enough. Technical news
- The Score extension has been re-enabled on public wikis. It has been updated, but has been placed in safe mode to address unresolved security issues. Further information on the security issues can be found on the mediawiki page.
Arbitration
- A request for comment is in progress to provide an opportunity to amend the structure, rules, and procedures of the Arbitration Committee election and resolve any issues not covered by existing rules. Comments and new proposals are welcome.
