Inadvertent featured picture removal?
About six weeks ago you were merging material on the John Quincy Adams biography and removed a section, noting in the comment that the removal was mostly redundant material.[1] One of the things that vanished with that edit was the only featured picture at the biography: a digitally restored version of the final portrait taken during Adams' lifetime. Unfortunately Wikipedia's software tends to obscure featured picture status (you would have to click twice on the image, then scroll downward before the FP marker is visible).
This was sketched inside the Congressional rotunda after he collapsed with a stroke during a vote. The image is high resolution and it was pretty much never published until Wikipedia's restoration because the original is badly faded, yellowed, and stained. Kind of special to present something like this.

Help with Congressional Institute article
Hello, Orser67! I found your name looking around at various political-related articles, and it seems like you have an interest in American politics, so I hope it's ok for me to reach out to ask if you'd be interested to help with a COI edit request in this topic area? The article for the Congressional Institute very much needs some work; the existing content of the article is overly detailed, promotional for the organization, has inline external links, and content that is not properly sourced. On behalf of the organization, I'm seeking to update the page with a new draft that trims the whole article down and provides thorough sourcing. There's an edit request on the Talk page here that provides more details. Unfortunately, so far I've been unable to find someone to review the draft. As I have a COI (I'm working for the Institute as part of my work with Beutler Ink) I won't edit the article directly and instead would love for an uninvolved editor to review the draft and make the changes if they're appropriate. That map is old! You should look at the redone maps at Territorial evolution of the United States, which go back now to 1776, as well as the "snapshot" (as opposed to "change") views at [2]. 2020 Senate Map

- In working on other presidency articles I haven't been sure how much to include about the president's personal life and family, but in general I haven't devoted too much time to them with the thought that the bio article usually covers them. However, given that Martha Washington was the first First Lady, I think it makes sense to include a paragraph or two about her. I think what you have now is pretty much what I'd cover. Invitation to the Portals WikiProject...
You are invited to join the effort to revitalize and improve the Portal system.
The Portals WikiProject was rebooted on April 17th, and is going strong. Sixty-six editors have joined so far, with more joining daily. We're having a blast, and excitement is high...
Our goal is to update, upgrade, and maintain portals.
In addition to working directly on portals, we are developing tools to make portals more dynamic (self-updating), and to make building and maintaining portals easier. We've finished two tools so far, with more to come. They are Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.
Discussions are underway about how to further upgrade portals, and what the portals of the future will be.
There are plenty of tasks (including WikiGnome tasks too).
With more to come.
We may even surprise ourselves and exceed all expectations. Who knows what we will be able to accomplish in what may become the biggest Wikicollaboration in years.

Toward that end, we have been working diligently to innovate portals, while building, updating, upgrading, and maintaining them. The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.
Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Please feel free to join in on any of the many threads of development at the WikiProject's talk page, or just stop by to see how we are doing. If you have any questions about portals or portal development, that is the best place to ask them.

Possible Wikipedia-integrated publication
I came across the Wikipedia article that you helped to write on the Presidency of George Washington.
Would you be interested in putting it (or any other article) though external, academic peer review for publication in the WikiJournal of Humanities? It's an academic journal in the same format as the medical journal www.WikiJMed.org.
It couples the rigour of academic peer review with the extreme reach of the encyclopedia. It is therefore an excellent way to achieve public engagement, outreach and impact public understanding of science. Peer-reviewed articles are dual-published both as standard academic PDFs, as well as directly into Wikipedia. This improves the scientific accuracy of the encyclopedia, and rewards academics with citable, indexed publications. It also provides much greater reach than is normally achieved through traditional scholarly publishing.
Anyway, let me know whether you'd be interested in putting an article through academic peer review (either solo, or with a team of coauthors). Alternatively, if you would prefer to write on a different topic, we may be able to accommodate you.

". I don't have access to that ref (Paludan), so I'm not sure what you intending to add there. Please take a look and fix it when you have a moment. I don't think it's urgent however. Progress bars for WP:US Presidents?
Hi, Orser67! I've noticed the task list you added to WP US Presidents, and was wondering if you wanted me to add progress bars as well, or if you think that would look too cluttered? Also, I'm wondering if it's worth marking incumbent President/Vice-President in a different colour, as I'm not sure how practical it would be to try to get FA (or even GA) for a sitting President/Vice President. — Sasuke Sarutobi (push to talk) 17:33, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

- Awesome. I've added the {{progression}} bars - I'm not sure about them centring, though, as it looks a bit messy to me.
