Santa Claus is a fictional character; It was obviously added as a defacement. Please refrain from reverting changes that you clearly haven't looked at.
Hi,
You recently messaged me about reverting the following change:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=North%20Pole,%20Alaska&diff=724858520
If you research Santa Claus, you'll see that it is a fictional character. This means that it cannot be a notable resident of a town. Furthermore, Santa Claus is purported to live on the *actual* north magnetic pole of the earth, rather than in North Pole, which is named after the former. So even if a fictional character should be listed under Notable Residents, it would be incorrect to place him in North Pole, AK.
Look back at the change in which Santa Claus was introduced to the article as a notable resident, and you can see that it was an obvious defacement of the article which added another resident of North Pole that clearly was not notable, likely made by the person themselves or an acquaintance of them.
What I have to wonder is why you reverted this. If you had looked at the change even superficially, you would have noticed all of this and left it alone.
I don't mean to be such a buzzkill-- I can appreciate the humour and magic in harmless jokes. But at the same time-- no, I really can't. Wikipedia is serious business and the sanctity of the North Pole, Alaska wikipedia page should be upheld. I went out of my way to do so, and I am annoyed that you went out of your way to undo my work.
// only half joking. ;)
- Plus, I think Santa is a resident of North Pole, not North Pole, Alaska. He is mentioned at North Pole#Cultural associations. If he were a resident at North Pole, Alaska, he could me mentioned in this fashion:
- Santa Claus, fictional
- or
- Santa Claus (fictional)
- There are probably articles out there that do this where a Cultural associations section does not exist. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:01, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Anna Frodesiak: Yeah, looking back on it, that was a really stupid revert and I'm not sure why I made it. I guess I wasn't fully awake at the time . My apologies. Omni Flames (talk) 22:40, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

This is confusing. I'm not sure if I'm sending this to the right place. I did intended to make that edit last night because I math person the WiKi post is about and do not want incorrect information on the page.
Many thanks...

- Hi there. The reason why I reverted your edit is because multiple sources, such as [1] state that Josh Klinghoffer is in fact Jewish. See WP:NOR. Thanks, Omni Flames (talk) 03:52, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

10:05:18, 14 June 2016 review of submission by Ex-paparazzi
- Ex-paparazzi (talk · contribs)
Hi! Thank you for your review. I've already been through a few cycles of edits with another moderator and don't know what else can be improved... I already have 23 references to all sorts of sources. Can you please help me by pointing out the problematic parts? I would really appreciate your assistance because I'm really desperate here. Thank you in advance! --Ex-paparazzi (talk) 10:05, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Ex-paparazzi: My decline of the draft had nothing to do with the references. It was because the page seemed highly promotional in my opinion. Just read the first paragraph! It reads more like an advertisement than an encyclopedic article. Omni Flames (talk) 10:18, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
In Special:Diff/725189731, you hid the reference to the replacement so that users can't see why the file fails WP:NFCC#1. Why did you do this? And why did you move the file? It just creates extra trouble by requiring users to update the link in the article when/if the file is moved and then change it back when the file is deleted.
Additionally, it seems that the file on Commons has been nominated for deletion, meaning that it's unnecessary and inappropriate to move the local file for that reason too. --Stefan2 (talk) 11:14, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
- In that diff, all I did was remove the {{ShadowsCommons}} because it no longer shadows Commons. I moved the file for the same reason, to de-shadow Commons.
- And I didn't see that the Commons file was going to be deleted, that's my mistake. Omni Flames (talk) 11:24, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
- If a file has been nominated for deletion on one or both projects (or if it should be nominated for deletion), then it's typically not a good idea to move the file per WP:FNC#9. Instead, consider waiting until the deletion process has ended and then revisit the file and check if it still shadows Commons at that point. --Stefan2 (talk) 13:13, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. Omni Flames (talk) 22:36, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Chargemaster PLC
Hi Omni Flames
You kindly reviewed my submission for Draft:Chargemaster_Plc last month and declined it saying that there were not enough sources to show notability.
Currently, it has ten sources to about 350 words - I wondered if the issue is that there genuinely aren't enough references, or whether the references aren't adequate? Typically, how may references should there be to a submission of this length?
Many thanks

Hburgess36 (talk) 11:49, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Hburgess36: A few more sources would certainly be nice. The sources you've got already are fine, it's just that there's simply not enough of them. Omni Flames (talk) 22:23, 15 June 2016 (UTC)

Disagreement with deletion notice
Hello, Omni Flames. You have put a deletion notice on Garay Asadov that I disagree with. The article creator is a new user who seems to have limited Computer and English skills. He doesn't know how to create categories, talk pages and inter-language wiki links. I have put categories and a talk page on that page for his benefit. His pages are closely related to ones created by Kges1901. Since he is a new user, we should give him a period of time to improve his articles. Zee money (talk) 11:20, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Zee money: If you disagree with the deletion nomination, then all you have to do is remove the template. That is, after all, how PROD works. The fact that someone is a new user doesn't mean that we should be any more lenient in reviewing their pages, although it does mean we should be careful not to bite them. Omni Flames (talk) 11:22, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
Minor thing
But when you're doing round-robin moves, please try and keep an eye out to keep talk page redirects. That actually sounds a bit vague, but what I mean is when you're switching A to B and B doesn't have a talk page you'll actually end up leaving the old talk page of A as a redlink when it will probably have incoming links. Talk:HMS Merganser is an example; I'd suggest just checking after each move to see if you need to create a new redirect for the old talk page location. Hope that makes sense and I appreciate the work you're doing. Cheers, Jenks24 (talk) 12:11, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Jenks24: Ah, I see what you mean. I'll try to remember to do that in the future. Thanks, Omni Flames (talk) 21:46, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
