Question
[edit]Hi, I'm trying to track down the ultimate source of a technical problem that you might be able to help me with. In this diff you added about 10 citations that contain |url-acess=live
. Do you recall intentionally adding that field, or do you think it might have been inserted automatically by Visual Editor? -- GreenC 23:48, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- I know I entered it manually. But I haven't been doing any editing lately. Sorry if it inconvenienced you. OIM20 (talk) 05:00, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

[edit]- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Friends of George's and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.

- Sorry for the late response. Do you feel a separate article covering their suit would be differentiated enough from the coverage under the TAEA and Skrmetti articles?
- Skrmetti: Jonathan Skrmetti#Friends of George's v. State of Tennessee
- The TAEA section is much briefer and largely confined to the lead (6th paragraph), a note from one of the members under "local response" and a mention in the closing section under "Pending litigation". Largely that was done because I had this article pending, but if you feel it's better as a subsection in the TAEA article, rather than having to merge it at a later date, I can edit and place there? [edit]I noticed with approval your edit to HS2. I wondered if you are aware of the RefRenamer tool? It makes such cleanup a lot less boring. (I understand that fixing the Visual Editor to stop creating them in the first place is on the very long "to-do" list). 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 11:56, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

Hello, OIM20,
I was reviewing this draft article you tagged for deletion and noticed that you didn't post a notification on the talk page of the draft creator as is expected for all types of deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/CFD/etc.). You used Twinkle which should do this automatically so please check your Twinkle Preferences. Make sure that "Notify page creator" box is checked off and ALL CSD boxes are checked off as well. It might be because this was tagged as a CSD G6 but I'm not sure. It can't hurt to check your Preferences.
By the way, I untagged the draft because we have lots of draft articles in foreign languages, they just have to be translated before they are approved by an AFC reviewer. But there isn't a criteria for deleting articles just because they aren't in English. Thank you for your work. Liz Read! Talk! 03:32, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Liz - Thanks. I didn't notice Twinkle didn't do that; like you said, it usually does. I'll check the preferences.
- I thought since the draft was a translation of parts of an article existing in English already into another language that it would qualify as non-controversial deletion. The OP's notes show it as part of the translation project, so I think it got submitted in a draft to the wrong Wikipedia. I haven't checked the cz pages to see if there's a draft there of the same name. If there is, would that qualify as 'page on another Wiki project'?
- Thanks for all you do! OIM20 (talk) 03:40, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Audience scores
[edit]Please note that user voted scores are not allowed WP:UGC (that means Rotten Tomatoes audience scores and IMDB user votes should not be added to Wikipedia articles). -- 109.76.193.132 (talk) 22:21, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I still don't know everything - it's a big place and there are a lot of guidelines! I appreciate the help. OIM20 (talk) 22:26, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
Agreed there are a lot of rules and the rules have changed over time too. There may even be unwritten rules, a general consensus about the better way to do things might not necessarily get enough argument or discussion to get fully documented in the respective project guidelines. (When it comes to Plot sections I find WP:STREAMLINE useful, full of sensible recommendations and advice but it is considered an "essay" that didn't yet get upgraded to actual proper "guidelines" status.)
Even experienced editors would benefit from rereading the WP:SIMPLE rules on a regular basis, top level guidelines like those are underrated.
Regular articles showing what editors commonly do can be misleading and show you examples of what articles used to do 10+ years ago and what was considered acceptable then is barely draft quality now. You can learn a lot by looking at {{Good article}}s and {{Featured article}}s.
Best of luck. -- 109.76.193.132 (talk) 23:18, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

DYK for Pete Wade
[edit]On 11 October 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Pete Wade, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that when guitarist Pete Wade was 19, he moved to Nashville with $3, his suitcase, two ham sandwiches, and the telephone numbers of Don Helms and Jerry Rivers? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Pete Wade. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Pete Wade), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
