Can you help me?

Hi...you accepted one of my previous drafts n Jawahar lal Darda. My other drafts are not working. I also asked at Tea house...Can you please guide me and help me with this? Sunisineast (talk) 16:00, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi Sunisineast, Jawahar Lal Darda was a defacto notability because of WP:NPOL. Others might take time to evaluate. Will try to look at them in coming days. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
Hello Sunisineast, I tried to find your conversation at teahouse [1] and I mostly agree with the feedback you got there.
  • Egmore court complex - can use a complete rewrite.
  • Draft:Gerhard Rach - Right feedback, you need to strengthen it with more information that is beyond the hockey team of India. But Olympic coaches are usually notable.
  • Draft:K Shridhar Rao - Looks okay to me. Can use some rewriting so that it reads more cohesive.
  • Draft:P Krishna Bhat - again, rewrite a bit to make it read more cohesive.
  • Draft:Nangal Wildlife Sanctuary - you can get rid of lot of generic content like Wetlands function as flood barriers and sources of groundwater recharge. They also act as natural water purifiers, and are called the kidneys of the Earth due to their role in alleviation water qualit
  • Draft:Edmond Fernandes - I think it can still be improved for WP:NPOV. Weed out whatever is even close to promotional. In DGG's words, if it works for their web page, it doesn't work for wiki. Might be notable under WP:AUTHOR. Doesn't seem to satisfy WP:ACADEMIC. Also, this was tried to be created in past. How do you know this person? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:59, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, I added sources and highlights that address the points you made, do let me know if they're okay. article can be found on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Jaya_Misra — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sreste (talkcontribs) 18:09, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

I redid the draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Eduard_Gr%C3%B6ller hope that is ok now. Thank you for feedback! Nanuqnuq (talk) 09:16, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

This is better but not there yet. I will try to spend some time on it in coming days, Nanuqnuq. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:35, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
This is much appreciated, but if you just point out what's missing, I'll take care of it. Worst case I'll delete the sentences :D Nanuqnuq (talk) 12:45, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
For example: and some of his former Ph.D. students have already established successful research groups in the field of visualization themselves. He is married and the father of two children., Promotio Sub Auspiciis Praesidentis Rei Publicae, for the excellent passing of the doctoral studies. Fellow of the Eurographics (Association) (2009) . Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 22:25, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

Alright, thank you. There is just a Problem with 'Würdigungspreis des Bundesministeriums für Wissenschaft und Forschung', they say on their homepage due to the number of yearly recipients they don't offer a list of receivers for readability sake. I guess i need to delete this one then? However, I linked his PhD works now too...every thing else that is unclear can be deleted for now, I thinkNanuqnuq (talk) 09:09, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
Nanuqnuq , I am fixing it. Quick question - is this machine translated from German? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 14:11, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
Nomadicghumakkad thank you! Yes, the whole part is machine translated. I left it as a comment at the bottom line, because I thought that might be relevant. Nanuqnuq (talk) 07:19, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Hey, I don't think that's allowed; but let me check at tea house. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 15:35, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
I hope it is - the references were quite some hours of work -.- If not I can translate the text myself as well, but there are not many 'fillwords' so finding a different sentence syntax will be quite ...uhm ... brain wrecking ^^ Nanuqnuq (talk) 11:17, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
Hey, I posted at Tea house but no response. But yes, will be good to translate the text please. For what you can't translate, leave it in German and we will see what to do with it. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:57, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
Uff, OK, I'll see when I have time for it, guess in about 2 weeks or so. But thank you for your extensive help so far! Nanuqnuq (talk) 15:28, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
No problem, I am here. And I am happy you are doing this difficult work. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 19:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

References representing the company

"Hello! I am writing regarding the Wikipedia page that was rejected (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:ConnectPay) due to references not showing a significant coverage and being not independent of the subject. As this might be a misunderstanding related to the origin of those sources I wanted to clarify that sources used to reference the fact of the company and its presence with the brief description of its services are both independent from the company itself – Rekvizitai.lt is he directory of Lithuanian companies (https://rekvizitai.vz.lt/en/about/) and provides various data from independent national and governmental sources to provide most relevant information about the company; And the second source – Bank of Lithuania references to the main details of the company as a supervised financial market participant as well as the required documents and information regarding the company and its license. As at this point we want to show the information about the most basic and fundamental fact about the company and its foundation and the listed sources are the primary, legal and independent references confirming that, the question is what could be additional references supplementing the ones that are already stating main facts objectively and independently?" Looking farward to hearing from you! Best regards!— Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.206.130.194 (talk) 07:59, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey, please see WP:RS. What you have given are not reliable sources. Also read about WP:COI. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:00, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Dear Nomadicghumakkad, thank you for your response. After reviewing the links you mentioned above, it is still unclear why the sources provided are considered unreliable. Is it possible to get a more detailed explanation on this subject? Kind Regards. No.19.04. (talk) 10:29, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

Follow up for more information on declined AfC submission for Draft:Asopa Films

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, I see that you declined the AfC submission for Draft:Asopa Films citing issues with formal tone, neutral point of view and potentially sources. Can you please elaborate on the reasons for the rejection, particularly as related to these cited issues. As with all of my articles, I made a conscious effort to maintain a neutral, fact-reporting POV and tone throughout the article, so I was both surprised and a bit confused to see the article rejected, especially for these issues. Thanks! Wiki Page Polisher (talk) 15:12, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

@Wiki Page Polisher (talk page stalker) I am also an AFC reviewer, so forgive me, both of you, if I make a comment or two.
You have a prime example of WP:CITEKILL in the lead paragraph. Instead we need one excellent reference per fact asserted. If you are sure it is beneficial, two, and at an absolute maximum, three. A fact you assert, once verified in a reliable source, is verified. More is gilding the lily. Please choose the very best in each case of multiple referencing for a single point and either drop or repurpose the remainder.
I would look at the rest of your referencing. More references are by no means better. You have at least one other Citekill issue
I can see some magazine article tone here. One example is "It was during this period that Asopa became strongly drawn to film direction and production, and embarked on his own storytelling projects." I'd like you to look at a "dull-but-worthy" tone for your writing, please. Sometimes we stand too close to our work to spot it when we do not quite hit the target.
I would have declined it, mentioning tone, but majoring on the Citekill, something that is almost at the level of WP:BOMBARD. It's very hard to review a draft with a welter of referencers, the more so when we know that some will be removed or repurposed.
I hope this helps you both. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 17:28, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
@Wiki Page Polisher You need to be aware that those who are paid for their work here are expected to know all this as a matter of course. Your editing standard should be far higher than this, and you should be creating work that is so correctly crafted that a review is always an acceptance. The faults I have outlined above scream paid editing at me, and unacceptable paid editing at that. Please learn the trade you hope to be paid for. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 17:39, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Thanks FiddleTimtrent for jumping in and helping out. This seems resolved now I guess! Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 17:10, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Artur Mkhitaryan

Hello, I want that the whole world gets to know about Ukrainian persons. Artur Mkhitaryan is a significant figure involved in the development of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. His project received the highest award at the International Property Awards[1]. In 2020, he proposed the renovation of the industrial area of Kyiv. The entrepreneur is also actively involved in the charity of the Ukrainian Foundation "Tabletochki". I think that the article with his name should be on English Wikipedia. Also, I translated the text of this article from Ukraine Wikipedia [2], my native Wiki where I have a big contribution. --Alexandr14 (talk) 09:05, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

This is with regard to the warning on the page 'This article reads like a press release or a news article and is largely based on routine coverage or sensationalism.'

I have added a few more citations on the basis of the disclaimer on the top of the page. However, the disclaimer remains. Can you suggest ways to add citations or other actions that can be taken to avoid the message appearing on the Wikipedia page?

Vishakhuk (talk) 20:42, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

It's not about the citations but how you have written it. I made some corrections to give you an example. You can follow the same pattern and improve it. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:34, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

Draft:YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament

Hi

Can you please further explian why Draft:YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament was rejected?

You said there was a lack of reliable sources, however there were a number of sources from places like the Courier Mail (a major state-wide newspaper) and the ABC (Australia's national public broadcaster)? I would have thought these were reliable.

I'd appreciate more info.

Cheers Tomorrow and tomorrow (talk) 23:54, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey Tomorrow and tomorrow, this is always a problem. VER template gives that automated message. What I meant was that there are portions unsourced that need to have citations. Please provide those. Also, that doesn't mean it has been identified as a notable subject. We will evaluate that once it has all the sources. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:36, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
Hey Nomadicghumakkad (talk), I understand. Can you please point out the sections that you think need more sourcing? Tomorrow and tomorrow (talk) 22:33, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

For example,

Executive Queensland Youth Parliament is run by a YMCA appointed Coordinator and a team of volunteers called the Executive. The Executive includes portfolio mentors, media officers, a Parliamentary team and the Youth Governor.

The current Youth Governor is His Excellency Benjamin Crowley and the current coordinator is Daniel Patava.

Other programs Queensland Youth Parliament's Executive runs other programs alongside the Youth Parliament to promote political and civic engagement in young Queenslanders.

This includes the Your Voice Heard Blog featuring blog posts and opinion pieces from Youth Members and other young Queenslanders, and various summits and forums. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:08, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

looking in, -- Tomorrow and tomorrow, it is extremely unlikely that this article will lbe considered notable in WP. Almost all articles or organizations of this type have been deleted on the grounds that the references are not substantial enough to show notability. DGG ( talk )

Draft:MYR Group Inc.

I don't understand why my MYR Group Inc. page was deleted. First off, you stated it was advertising--I cited all sources and don't particularly understand why you feel the page was advertising. Second, I commented late last night that I would go through the page and make edits this morning and you have since deleted the page without giving me an opportunity to address it. Please explain why you felt it was advertising and why you did not give me an opportunity to correct whatever you thought was wrong with it. MYR Group Inc. is a publicly-traded corporation in the United States and needs to have a Wikipedia page.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Aschlic1 (talkcontribs) 15:11, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Prachi.chopade (talk) 11:30, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi Prachi.chopade, multiple things to handle here but let's start with two:

  1. How do you know this person?
  2. Why do you this person is notable? For this question, please check WP:NACADEMIC and see what criteria are met.

Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:06, 22 November 2021 (UTC) Prachi.chopade (talk)

checked WP:NACADEMIC. the professor qualifies for most of the criteiria mentioned in there hence the page. REquest, run the through the links sent If you can pin point sentences/ statements which reason for deletion that would specific and very helpful. as i hv been struggling with this since more than 2 yrs & still nowhere. The article is overhauled twice & edited numerous times without any specific comments/ feedback form the deleter. Seems this is month for promoting Asian content , positive / progressive help is seeked.

Request to visit 'ISOLA India' content. has it gone for approval? cant locate it anywhere. Prachi.chopade (talk) 02:31, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey, I don't see ISOLA at all. Did you create it in draft space? Can you please explain which of the WP:NACADEMIC criteria he meets and how? Also, please let me know how do you know this person. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:37, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi dear Nomadicghumakkad, the submission for my draft about Prof.Karlheinz Krauth (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Karlheinz_Krauth) has been declined on 7 November 2021. Meanwhile I came up with some additional references. Would you think that the given reverences now show significant coverage to qualify my draft for a Wikipedia article? If not - what still would be missing? Thank you for a short response and best regardes, Hager Irene (talk) 12:19, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey Hager Irene, we need to evaluate it from WP:NACADEMIC guidelines. Can you read this and let me know which of the given criteria does subject follow? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:08, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi dear Nomadicghumakkad, as far as I am aware, Prof. Krauth's curriculum vitae incorporates the following criteria:
1a) He is listed in scopus with 15 documents in influential journals e.g. Water Science and Technology and Water Research (ref. 18 and 19).
1b) Regarding significant new concepts: He was the holder of a patent, that was very influential in the field of wastewater treatment (ref. 21). Moreover, with his doctoral thesis, he laid the foundation for the construction of retention tanks in combined sewer systems – a now widely used method to prevent against flooding (ref.10, ref.12).
1f) + 5): Krauth was a full Professor of the department of civil engineering at the Institute for Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Solid Waste Management, University of Stuttgart (https://www.iswa.uni-stuttgart.de/en/, https://www.iswa.uni-stuttgart.de/institut/team/Krauth-00003/). He had an education in civil engineering, a major discipline (ref. 4,6,7,8).
2) Prestigious academic awards: Up to my knowledge the Karl Imhoff Award (1971), the Federal Cross of Merit of the Republic of Germany (1995) and the Max Prüss Medal of the DWA (2004) are regarded as prestigious academic awards at least in German-speaking countries. I have listed and linked all three (https://en.dwa.de/en/awards-and-prizes.html as well as https://www.gfa-news.de/webcode.html?wc=20201015_002 - his obituary, in which all his awards are mentioned).
6) Major post: Prof. Krauth was speaker of the ATV (today DWA) main committee "Gewässerschutz und Abwasserreinigung" from 1987 to 1999. This is referenced in ref. 16 and 17.
7) Substantial impact outside academia: Prof. Krauth initiated and organized training-courses for the operating personnel of wastewater treatment plants. I think this is a very important and influential work to improve and advance water protection. Ref 25 provides information on his activities in this area.
Please inform me if the data I have given are sufficient to allow an entry about Prof. Krauth to wikipedia. As far as I am concerned, I think they ought to be. Thank you again and best regards, Hager Irene (talk) 09:53, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the detailed explanation but I don't see any of this as qualifying WP:ACADEMIC. But this is also a difficult criteria and different people interpret it differently. So I'd say go to WP:TEA and refer this discussion there. You will surely get a better advise there. 15:16, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey Nomadicghumakkad - thanks for reviewing my page. I am new to wikipedia and unsure how to proceed. Should I just trim the page (heavily) myself? What points would you think would be most important to keep? Cheers Kaiuw (talk) 12:57, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi Kaiuw , yes please do that. Pick top 2-3 honors, awards, publications and remove the rest. Also remove anything that's not sourced. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 15:26, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

Request on 19:18:02, 26 November 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by CatherineMO

Hello, I am following up on the Ema Peter page that was rejected. I addressed your concern but the page has been in a queue for quite a while now. Can you let me know how I should proceed? Thank you!

CatherineMO (talk) 19:18, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey CatherineMO, I am still not convinced that subject meets notability. Might be good for others to opine. About waiting list, can't do much except to be patient. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 14:11, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Concern Regarding Ayesha Singh

Respected Nomadicghumakkad , Ayesha Singh is playing the lead role of SAI JOSHI in Star Plus Most Popular TV Show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin . Apart from this show , Ayesha Singh has played the lead role of Amy D'Costa in Zindagi Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Ghost . She has debuted in the year 2015 and played a pivotal cameo role in Zee TV Popular Show Doli Armaano Ki as Ratti Sinha . She is the Female Lead in her Bollywood Debut Adrishya . She is TOP-5 TV Personality by FMN and Ormax Rating as well . I have mentioned three major roles apart from the current show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin . So , I request to take back your vote given for deleting this page . Here's the appreciation article : [1]

Ayesha Singh

Yes this is Ayesha Singh's first project as a lead but that can't undo her popularity among public. She is the female protagonist of one of the most popular/leading shows of India Ghum Hai Kisi Key Pyaar Meiin. It's been more than a year since she has been ruling the charts. Right now she is considered as one of the top actresses/best emerging talent of the Indian Television Industry. She very much deserves this. This article not get deleted. 106.215.133.243 (talk) 17:47, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

The article should not be deleted as it does not contain any inappropriate information it is about Ayesha Singh who currently is the lead actress of Ghum Hai Kisi Key Pyar Mein where she plays the role of Sai Joshi 116.193.130.234 (talk) 18:16, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Regarding Ayesha Singh

Ayesha Singh is currently playing a major role in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. She also played an important role in a TV Show Zindagi Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Ghost and also did a major role in a movie Adrishya. Kindly requesting to please stop the deletion process. Draft:Luzifer (film)

Dear Nomadicghumakkad,

my submission fo "Draft: Luzifer (film" was declined because the references were not from reliable, secondary sources on the topic, but only from temporary reporting in online newspapers or reviews. That's how I understood it.

I have now added references from the official websites of the festivals where the film received awards. The film also appears in the Wikipedia article about the mentioned film festivals (Fantastic Fest and Sitges Filmfestival), but a link to the film name there is not yet possible. I do this when this article is accepted.

Please check it again. I would be very happy if it works out this time.

If the corrections are not enough, what else can I do? I am very impressed by the acting of Franz Rogowski and Susanne Jensen in this film. And the film is also part of Franz Rogowski's filmography in this year, as well as Great Freedom. Great Freedom is proposed for the foreign Oscar from Austria.

Thank you very much for your support.

Best regards comtheo69 Comtheo69 (talk) 20:26, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey Comtheo69, being listed at festivals or winning awards there is not a measure of notability. Are there any reviews about the film? I think this is close to notability - we just need to find independent reviews. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:16, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Gary Ashworth Revision

Hi. I've now revised the Gary Ashworth draft, adding extensive references and altering the tone of voice to be completely neutral. I've also clarified that I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. Please could you take another look at the page? Many thanks, Ryan RyanJEdwards1 (talk) 22:08, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Hey Ryan, this is still very promo. Also, it seems there is a clear WP:COI. Will appreciate this being declared at your end. I suggest you provide WP:THREE and if that doesn't work, we will try to see if WP:BASIC helps at all. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:21, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Chris Parker (comedian)

Hi Nomadicghumakkad. Still waiting on a review of Chris Parker (comedian) that you said you were looking into two months ago. You previously had issues with notability, he has now won the TV show 'Celebrity Treasure Island' in New Zealand which is pretty clear cut. Please review this article, thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PeterJackson69 (talkcontribs) 03:03, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Hi PeterJackson69, did we discuss this? If yes, I will find it in my archives and pick it up from there. Thanks for reminding. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:22, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
Thanks Nomadicghumakkad. Yes, your last comment on this was on 28 September 2021 "Hey PeterJackson69, looks like this might have merit. I will investigate more." PeterJackson69 — Preceding undated comment added 06:29, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
: PeterJackson69, I see this was recently rejected. I think what I need from you is this - does he have two notable projects (which have wiki page of their own or have enough merit to deserve a page) + Is his role significant in creating those projects (and how)? One idea for such tricky cases is to accept them and propose them for AFD and let the community decide. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 15:54, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Thank you and request to Re-review

Hi Nomadicghumakkad! Thank you for your review of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:John_R._Mascola. I updated the references, including adding to the sections where they had previously been left out, and wondered if you had a moment to re-review. Thanks so much! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daisy23194 (talkcontribs) 15:20, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

HeyDaisy23194, major chunks, for example - the whole education section is still unsourced. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:25, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for your reviewNomadicghumakkad! I updated the education section with references. Anything else needed to support article acceptance? Thanks again. Daisy23194 (talk) 18:11, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Daisy23194

Hi Daisy23194 , I have removed material to adhere to WP:VER. I suggest to further improve the article to maintain WP:NPOV. One thing that you can do is that separate out his work and his institution's work - meaning, you can't credit him for the success of the institution directly. I must warn that even accepted articles can be deleted if neutrality is not maintained. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:52, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

Draft:David S. Feldman

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, Thank you for reviewing my page! Can you please re-view the page, I removed the sentence. There is no clear statement in the publication that it is a machine or computerized, instead, it is described as being an articulated hinged distraction arthroplasty. I will investigate the topic further. Thank you again. JesusRubyHernandez (talk) 16:41, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey JesusRubyHernandez, thanks for adding these. However, these are very publication based. Can you add more that are not publications? Profiling on notable institutes would also work. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:24, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
Hi Nomadicghumakkad, I updated the page, thank you again! JesusRubyHernandez (talk) 18:00, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
Hey JesusRubyHernandez, this is better. I need two more things from you (1) Remove all external links from the text. For publications, use them as regular citations. (2) Please put the publications in which he is first or second author. The first one that I see, he is fifth author I think. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:47, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

Art Comes First

Hi. Hope you are doing well. I would really appreciate it if you could elaborate on why my page "Art Comes First" is declined again and again. I am new to Wikipedia. It is my dream to be a Wikipedia editor. Kindly help me in this regard. Thank you. Matt Pascal (talk) 11:42, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey Matt Pascal, if an article is declined again and again, it might not be notable. I suggest you work on other notable subjects which will help you achieve your dream of becoming a Wikipedia editor. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:24, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Appreciated. I uploaded this article with very less information backed up by a single link of financial times. I think financial times is a credible source. What do you think? Actually you declined my submission twice. Kindly help.Matt Pascal (talk) 13:01, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

If you don't mind can I upload the link here? And can you tell me whether this link is credible for citation or not? Matt Pascal (talk) 13:07, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

what was the citation issue with the Drew Aaron draft?

I have no interest in the subject and don't plan on doing much there myself, but I saw you declined Draft:Drew Aaron for improper citation usage, and thought that seemed a little harsh, considering that it almost certainly would be kept if brought to AfD. I'm pretty sure that's the sort of thing that should be brought to mainspace and improved there, unless there's something obvious I'm missing, which is quite possible of course. May I ask what your reasoning was? Yitz (talk) 02:48, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

The reason was that WP:VER is not followed. Every thing needs to be sourced. Every minor information. This helps us ensure that what's being said is undoubtedly true and attributable to. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:29, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
While citing even minor information is generally considered a best practice, I don't think that's strictly necessary, according to WP:MINREF, which states "Wikipedia's content policies require an inline citation to a reliable source for only the following four types of statements:" etc.... As such, I don't think that's technically grounds for declining a draft for mainspace, unless you think there's anything likely to be challenged or which could be construed as contentious which specifically doesn't have an inline citation. If you think that's the case here that's totally fine, but just wanted to clear that up for future reference :) Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 04:17, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Hey, you are absolutely right. But like for most policies, editors tend to be conservative or liberal. I am slightly conservative with verifiability since I feel I am responsible for what's going out and what people will end up reading. But yes, I technically have no right to reject if notability is met but some info is not verified. I think the best I can do is, remove my decline and restore AFC notice and any other editor can have a look at it. What do you think? Will review your notes on other page shortly. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:17, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
@NomadicghumakkadI really appreciate your transparency! My personal belief here is that you should accept it, move it to mainspace, and tag for cleanup (or clean it up yourself), due to the specific rules of WP:AFCR. In particular, see WP:AFCPURPOSE: "Articles that will probably survive a listing at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion should be accepted. Articles that will probably not survive should be declined. Issues that do not affect the likelihood of success at AFD.... should not be considered when making this fundamental calculation." (emphasis mine) There are undeniably improvements that could be made to Draft:Drew Aaron, and I deeply sympathize with your feeling of responsibility for what you approve (I often feel the same), but it isn't the role of an AFC reviewer to play gatekeeper beyond insuring that articles likely to get deleted won't make it in. I'd think of the role of AFC reviewer as being similar to that of a forum admin: you make sure that bad faith actors don't harm the community, but you are not personally responsible for what others write. Nobody says that an admin is a bad writer if a user posts a terrible work of literature and the admin doesn't delete it (or simply lets it be posted on a forum), but they would get upset at the admin if they started rejecting posts that they personally didn't like, but which didn't oppose community policy (cf: the downfall of many StackOverflow forums, where new user's questions are routinely rejected because jaded admins feel it's too boring; if you've ever worked in tech, you've probably experienced that unique brand of frustration). I'd encourage you not to think of yourself as "responsible for what's going out" beyond acting as a sort of sieve, catching obvious spam and WP:NOT work which will get deleted and waste everyone's time at AFD. Once it's on mainspace, then it's time to take on the task of improving the article, which you may choose as a personal responsibility if you so wish.
Btw, apologies for responding above using my disclosed COI account the other day; I don't have any COI here, though I do on Draft:SudShare below, which led to the mistake. Yitz (talk) 15:35, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Artur Mkhitaryan

Hello, I want that the whole world gets to know about Ukrainian persons. Artur Mkhitaryan is a significant figure involved in the development of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. His project received the highest award at the International Property Awards[2]. In 2020, he proposed the renovation of the industrial area of Kyiv. The entrepreneur is also actively involved in the charity of the Ukrainian Foundation "Tabletochki". I think that the article with his name should be on English Wikipedia. Also, I translated the text of this article from Ukraine Wikipedia [3], my native Wiki where I have a big contribution. --Alexandr14 (talk) 09:05, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi @Nomadicghumakkad thank you for reviewing the draft.

What evidence am I able to provide to demonstrate the subject's role in the creation of the notable projects. His IMDb page shows he has been the lead producer on a number notable projects. The citations to articles in major publications from the Edmonton Journal and CBC also demonstrate this I believe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bmajeski (talkcontribs) 21:06, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

ω Awaiting Regards,User4edits (talk) 13:50, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey User4edits , this might have some merit. Since the opening line says prof, I was evaluating as per WP:NACADEMIC but maybe WP:BASIC would have some ground. How are you connected to the subject? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 20:18, 27 December 2021 (UTC)

@Nomadicghumakkad: Yes he is a somewhat (in)famous and certainly interesting individual. I know about him since I am from Varanasi. Anyway, you will find him appearing on national news channel debates too. Let me know if anything needs to be done before resubmitting. Regards, User4edits (talk) 07:54, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
There are few steps to this User4edits. First is evaluating notability. Do you have any more sources about him being Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair? Like a university website link? If that happens, we have a clear notability as per WP:NACADEMIC. Otherwise, we will have to go to WP:BASIC. Once notability is certain, we need a rewrite - particularly the introduction. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:20, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
@Nomadicghumakkad: Yes he is the chair prof. of DDU Chair, you can see the same here[2] in the last paragraph
पं दीनदयाल उपाध्याय पीठ के प्रभारी और सामाजिक विज्ञान संकाय के डीन प्रोफेसर कौशल किशोर मिश्र ने संचालन किया;
on a search I found that the same is provided on the university verified twitter account's tweet [3]
however, it has not been updated on the university website. In either case, I believe he passes WP:BASIC with the listed refrences; and WP:NACADEMIC with the aforementioned links. Looking forwards. Regards, User4edits (talk) 14:54, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
That seems to be sufficient evidence. Will work on it soon. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:15, 1 January 2022 (UTC)

Draft:SudShare

Hi, this is Yitz again (this time from my COI account, as I have a declared COI with the subject matter). I was wondering if you might be able to quickly review Draft:SudShare when you have the time. It was previously declined for promotional language, but I've since removed (and/or improved) everything that was of concern. Thanks for your incredible work on AFC! Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 02:58, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey Yitzilitt (paid), I am not very sure about the notability of the subject. Will be great to discuss WP:THREE. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:27, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

@Nomadicghumakkad I'd be happy to provide! It's a bit hard to make a choice here of course, since there's a few different ways to consider what sources are the "best," but here's my (admittedly somewhat arbitrary) choice:

Source assessment table:
Source Independent? Reliable? Significant coverage? Count source toward GNG?
https://www.baltimoresun.com/business/bs-prem-bz-pikesville-laundry-app-national-expansion-20211115-3yaj5mughzfrjkiwzh5fqfwinq-story.html Yes Care should be taken to differentiate quotes from the main body of the article, of course Yes Baltimore Sun is a consistent Pulitzer Prize winner, and this was a front page story; should definitely be good Yes front-page above-the-fold article, can't get much more signifigant than this Yes
https://www.kolotv.com/2021/10/28/sudshare-now-reno/ Yes no connection with the company, as far as I'm aware Yes ABC-affialated TV news station, should be good Yes covers the service in detail beyond just the fact that there's a local expansion (which wouldn't be notable by itself) Yes
https://www.freightwaves.com/news/sudshare-wants-to-be-the-uber-for-laundry Yes contains exclusive quotes/interview from the CEO, everything outside of that is indipendent Yes see https://www.freightwaves.com/editorial-team; they seem to have a really solid editorial team Yes lenghty article talking about SudShare in depth, pretty much the definition of signifigant Yes
This table may not be a final or consensus view; it may summarize developing consensus, or reflect assessments of a single editor. Created using {{source assess table}}.

If you have any issues with any of the above sources, please let me know! Thanks, Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 04:58, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey, a great analysis. But for companies, we have an additional guideline which is like an extra layer of safety - WP:CORPDEPTH. Most of these news are announcements and service descriptions and misses an independent analysis. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:20, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
@Nomadicghumakkad Thanks for the compliment :) You make a good point, and if you want I can certainly get you some sources which do independent analysis (for example, https://www.theroot.com/my-washer-broke-and-ive-had-to-outsource-my-favorite-ch-1846972718, which easily meets all three notability criteria for WP:PRODUCTREV (note it's written in AAVE as a black culture focused news source, which may read as informal if you're used to SE; it is not due to unprofessionalism on the part of the author)), but I'd also like to respectfully push back on your reading of WP:CORPDEPTH, since you do a lot of AFC reviews and I think this is important. The relevant portion here is as follows: "Deep or significant coverage provides an overview, description, commentary, survey, study, discussion, analysis, or evaluation of the product, company, or organization." (emphasis mine) Note that while (presumably independent) analysis of the company is provided in the definition of significance, it is mentioned in the context of a larger list of qualities which constitute significance, using an "or" clause, which can be assumed to mean that having any one of these qualities (coupled with the source providing a level of attention which "makes it possible to write more than a very brief, incomplete stub about the organization" (emphasis mine)) constitutes WP:CORPDEPTH. As such, while a critical analysis of a company would definitely quality, a detailed description, overview, or review of a company should not be excluded on a WP:CORPDEPTH basis. When it comes to how detailed is "detailed," the relevant question that should be asked is "would this source allow me to write more than a permastub on the topic," which is more than met in this particular case, imo. I hope this doesn't come across as adversarial; I'm not normally so pedantic about this sort of thing, but since this could effect many other potential AFC candidates as well, I thought it worth bringing up.
Thanks, Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 17:57, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
Just a quick note that I added a few citations and additional paragraphs to the article since my previous message. I see you haven't been online the past few days, so just wanted to keep you updated :) Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 23:22, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey Yitzilitt (paid), thanks for dropping your note and giving more perspective on WP:CORPDEPTH. I feel we are kind of back where we started - how strict or liberal we are with the guidelines and which parts of the guidelines we feel more strongly about. These debates are common for sure and I have been in your shoes - defending a specific part of guideline that I feel strongly about and yet didn't achieve the desired outcome of those conversations. So clearly, this is beyond you and I. I will check The Root source and please feel free to provide any more if you wish to. One solution from here that I see is - I accept the article and propose it to AFD and let the community decide. I did this with GOAT (platform) where I was unsure and it was decided to be kept. What do you think? Would also recommend going to WP:TEA. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 20:24, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
@Nomadicghumakkad I think that sounds like a fair compromise! I believe the article should be pretty easily defensible on AFD, though this will be my first time defending anything there, so that should be an interesting learning experience at least. :)
What do you mean by going to WP:TEA exactly? I don't want to do anything that could be perceived as Canvassing or anything similar, so if you mean mentioning the deletion discussion in relevant areas, I'd really appreciate if you do that, due to your increased experience with the AFD process. I also assume in the nomination for AFD you'll include a link back here, and it may also be worthwhile to notify those involved/link back to the article's previous deletion review (which resulted in an unanimous overturn).
Thank you so much for your time and insight, Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 21:00, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
Not a compromise but another approach to get it to a closure. By going to tea, I meant to ask for more inputs/opinions. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 23:26, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
@Nomadicghumakkad understood, thanks. Would you mind posting it at teahouse instead of me? I've noticed that a lot of people tend to assume the worst of disclosed paid editors, and I'm pretty sure if I brought it up I'd be accused of canvassing (somebody already tried to ban me at the time of the mistaken G11, and although it was quickly rescinded, that's led to me leaning on the side of caution for anything similar). Thanks, Yitzilitt (paid) (talk) 17:40, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
Going to tea was relevant before AFD. Now we just need to have faith in the community and let it take it's own course. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:17, 1 January 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Clipchamp

Hi Nomadicghumakkad, thanks for reviewing my article. I need some help to understand the reasons for not being approved, I believe Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft official website, etc, are reliable sources, can you be more specific in terms of describing that "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources."? I would like to know more about what reliable sources are needed so it can get approved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PrepperOne (talkcontribs) 17:13, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

Hey PrepperOne , you have left large portions unsourced. One can overlook a fact or two but this is beyond acceptable. Also, I am not certain on notability. Would you like to discuss WP:THREE? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:18, 1 January 2022 (UTC)

Draft:David Feldman

Hi @Nomadicghumakkad thank you for reviewing my draft.

I believe I've completed the requirements. Did I need to do anything else?

Draft: Danish_M._Sheikh

Thanks for your review. Further to your point, want to add few more observations: — Khaleej Times, Gulf News, The National are the most credible newspapers in the UAE and they did full page stories about him in their daily physical editions back in 2016. — The Guardian (UK) did a 4 pages cover story in their weekly Sunday edition in 2016, which is pretty credible. — Most of the media stories are editorial features, not PR driven, to best of my knowledge.

Please let me know if you want me to modify the content to make it appear more factual. Happy to learn and make changes. 2405:201:300B:4AEE:1811:319F:6A22:DD9 (talk) 03:25, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Detoxifying disagreements

I note the difficult discussions you have had with and about another editor. It serves no purpose to name them here, so please do not do so yourself. I hope you will find my thoughts on ways to disagree of some use. The written word is particularly harsh, often leaving no nuances. If you are receptive, please may I suggest:

  • Never lose the moral high ground by answering every point. You may leave points unanswered with no loss, sometimes with gain
  • Never feel the need to make an immediate response. Time is better spent considering whether a reply is really needed. Often the editor who says the least carries the day. You will have noticed this in AfD discussions.
  • Never get drawn into a battle. Present your case and consider very seriously walking away
  • Never forget WP:BOOMERANG. That is almost worth restating
  • Always be the person you would turn to for advice
  • Recognise that every last one of us is capable of making the most enormous errors, usually with good intent. Always be sure that these errors will bite one's nether regions very hard because others love to use them as weapons
  • Try very hard to have so much patience that you never fire the first shot. If that she has been fired at you already, consider wisely whether return of fire is productive.
  • Never, not ever, post when angry, impatient, or upset.
  • Never seek to have the last word.

I have often guided editors who have found difficulties with other editors. Please accept this post in the spirit I mean it, one of true aiming for truce, even armed truce. If any of it offends you it is not meant to offend. If I have achieved that then I am at fault and apologise in advance. Thiis is your talk page. You are welcome to delete my words even without this permission. We don't know each other very well. I know we have disagreed in the past ourselves. I hope we each conducted ourselves well then; because I cannot remember my impression is that we did. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 00:29, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for this great pep talk FiddleTimtrent. (sorry I am still using signatures to ping people; old habits die hard). Your words are very wise of course. I wish I had a fraction of maturity and patience you do but the unfortunate truth is I don't at the moment and trying to work on it. I just feel it is unfair that this happened twice and they got away with it. Your timing to intervene also turned out auspicious for them since they didn't had to answer the fires I ended up shooting. But I believe in Karma so I will leave it there. Your behaviour has always been extremely gentle and polite. I wish others were more like you. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 14:24, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
Intervention is a little like full page protection. Someone always feels that they have, somehow, lost.
The thing is, living to edit again means that everyone wins. Even when you are sure that something has happened twice and the other party has escaped censure, you have still won because you are here to edit another day.
If their behaviour is as you say someone will look at it. Not me, because, as with you, I have acted as a mentor for them. I take mentoring as a thing to do wholly impartially, and advise on behaviours shown, not behaviours reported on. You'll notice that I advised both of you equally, though did aim slightly more at you because you had more chance to defuse the situation.
Your wish to have a fraction of what I display means that you are on the way to achieving it. I am no meek and mild person. I am assertive when required. On Wikipedia I base my assertiveness solely on policy. I also know when to withdraw. I withdraw either when it is foolish to continue (for many reasons including my own selfishness) or when I have learned that I have misinterpreted something.
I have not checked the drama board, but I think you have both achieved an exit without a block. I do hope so. Now is the time to decide whether, in a while, you make overtures to them or not. Either is fine.
Now, patience and maturity, these are easier than you think. Pretend you have them, and act as if you have. These two attributes are just tools, like a hammer and a drill. We use them. Sometimes we borrow them from neighbours! FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 17:06, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Your advice

Hi. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to you! Please share your point of view about Draft:upGrad. It is a properly stated WP:COI about an Indian education company. upGrad is one of the five unicorn companies in India (companies with a capitalization over $1 billion). The draft was declined at the AfC with the comment that it doesn’t pass WP:NCORP. Specifically, the reviewer noted that none of the references are independent and reliable. I wonder if this has to do with an attitude to some particular Indian media. Could it be that coverage at some sources (Business Standard, The Economic Times, Mint and etc.) are not in the list of reliable sources (WP:RSP)? Thanks! Peter. --Bbarmadillo (talk) 20:11, 9 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi Nomadicghumakkad. The only connection I have with the subject is living in the same city (Edmonton, AB) and being a fan of their work! Bmajeski (talk) 16:47, 10 January 2022 (UTC)

Uma Preman

Hi, On Sept 29th 2021, you moved Uma Preman's article to Draft space. As you suggested I added more references and removed information that can't be verified. I hope it will be moved to the main space soon. I am not an insider, just a contributer to her work only. Large parts still unsourced. Can't be accepted in this state. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:38, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

I've nominated this article for deletion as I found it lacks reliable sources and fails GNG. Kindly review it please Pri2000 (talk) 15:42, 7 February 2022 (UTC)

Review the Draft

Hello hope you are doing well. I had created an article named Arham Abbasi which was deleted previous day and the reason was G4. And the admin Justlettersandnumbers, who deleted the page suggested me that the article is better then the previous one and he/she told me to expand and submit the existing draft (Draft:Arham Abbasi) which has been created already by an another edit. I have expanded the draft and now I have selected the draft for review. So I will be thankful if you check and review the draft. Thank you in advance. Trakinwiki (talk) 05:04, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Hi Nomadicghumakkad, Thanks for your input on my article, I appreciate the feedback to improve my copy and editing. I have edited the article according to your feedback to make it more encyclopedic. Could you have a look and tell me if it is correct now, and if not what should be changed? thanks in advance! Borm100 (talk) 10:28, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Which type of news media can be independent sources

As you declined Paras Kalnawat's article not to moved for mainspace because it didn't contained independent sources. Can you please tell me which type of Indian news articles will be considered independent sources for him Pri2000 (talk) 11:49, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

@Pri2000 see WP:PSTS and WP:RS. It is easy to spot from the coverage if it is a neutral journalistic work or paid news for promotion. The latter cannot be used. Venkat TL (talk) 11:58, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Drupad K Trivedi

Hi, Nomadicghumakkad, thank you for taking time to provide feedback on my article. I have now included their Google Scholar as a hyperlink to their name. Happy to get more feedback to help me write it better. Analyticalbarista (talk) 11:52, 3 March 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Takatoshi Tsujimura

Thank you for your comment, Nomadicghumakkad! Found the error and I think I could correct it. Could you review it? Also concerning the content. All the descriptions are already reviewed by Dr.Takatoshi Tsujimura, but if you want to confirm, I can ask him to send you an email of content confirmation from his e-mail address shown in https://www.sid.org/About-Us/Leadership-Governance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sid jr dw (talkcontribs) 04:09, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

What's your connecting with them? Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 12:07, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Dear @Nomadicghumakkad, I got your review on Draft:Adia Sowho "This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people)."

However, five of the references for this submission are sourced from reliable secondary sources such as Thisday newspapers, the Guardian, BusinessDay and with the subject receiving significant coverage. I believe this establishes notability and would urge you to reconsider or share your thoughts. Timmylegend (talk) 14:43, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

Hey Timmylegend , will be best for you to present WP:THREE. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 18:01, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Dear @Nomadicghumakkad, here are three references that are from reliable sources and with significant coverage as requested:

Timmylegend (talk) 19:59, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

Hey Timmylegend, thanks for sharing these. The challenge is that all of them mirror each other that dilutes the independent part of WP:GNG. I have also realized that I am not an expert of Nigeria sources. Celestina007 might be kindly able to help better if they would have some time to spare. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 12:06, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Endorsing Nomadicghumakkad's decline I have also declined this. @Timmylegend I believe a significant amount of editors including system operators such as Deb, have in the past told you to take it slowly pertaining article creation until you understand WP:GNG, until such a time that you do, can you please adhere to their advice? Furthermore I want to expressly state that I do not want to poison the well or indirectly (say) anything that indicts the editor “Timmylegend” however, some months ago a report was made to WP:AN about MTN Nigeria paying Wikipedia editors which saw some editors indefinitely blocked, note this is not ad hominem or an attempt to directly or indirectly smear Timmylegend it is however worth voicing out. Celestina007 (talk) 15:54, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Genetics and archaeogenetics of Gujjar

Hi, thank you for the feedback ! How can I merge this into that article ? Thanks. --Fargowolverinedeneb (talk) 09:49, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

Just copy the content to the Gujjar community page and request for deletion to this draft through speedy. I can do that for you if you are okay with it. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 18:01, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

I'm thinking if it might be better to have this information in a separate page, as that article already has a lot of information on it. I can expand this page later on. What do you think ? --Fargowolverinedeneb (talk) 19:10, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

That's your choice! Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 12:03, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. What are the next steps now ? The article is still in review. Fargowolverinedeneb (talk) 10:10, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
Wait for some one to review. I am not planning to review it. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 01:54, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Nicolas H. Thomä

Dear Nomadicghumakkad, thank you for your comment on my draft "Nicolas H. Thomä". I added the first author publication of Dr. Nicolas H. Thomä with the highest number of citations to the education section. Please note, that the last position in an author list shows the corresponding author, in terms of being responsible for the project. The list of references shows only a selection (relevant for the content in the wikipedia article) of his outstanding contribution to the field of his reserach. I have cited 13 publications of Dr. Nicolas H. Thomä (12 as corresponding author) including 7 publications in Nature, 2 in Science and 1 in Cell. Nature, Science and Cell are the most important journals in the field of Biochemistry (among others). I will also add a link to his full publication list. Please let me know, if there is anything else you think is missing. Best regards, Mira Schuetz — Preceding unsigned comment added by MiraSchuetz (talkcontribs) 09:08, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
