[edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Grayfell (talk) 19:00, 22 August 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to QR code. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] Annh07 (talk) 19:11, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Wiiformii. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Wiiformii (talk) 19:11, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, it was not my intentiont to add a link for commercial intentions (that I don't), I was trying to add a reliable source, which that company is. Also, I am aware of the nofollow atribute that the hyperlink imposes, so for me it makes no "commercial sense" to make such a link. PrepperOne (talk) 20:47, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Maybe I can add it as citation instead? PrepperOne (talk) 20:53, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at QR code, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. Annh07 (talk) 21:18, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Nonsense, I see citations all the time, even in this article. PrepperOne (talk) 21:20, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- A source that needs our guidelines as given in WP:RS. These commercial sites are spam, not reliable sources. Please read WP:LINKSPAM, WP:ELNO. Thank you. Annh07 (talk) 21:22, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Those sites "being Spam" is your opinion, it's not a fact. Keep going and delete the billions of links that follow your same opinion.
- Good luck. PrepperOne (talk) 21:28, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- The link that was added is promotional in nature and is not a reliable source. While it does have a generic blurb about what QR codes are, most of that page is an attempt to get you to use their product, even once you get past the initial "Free trial" and "buy now" links. Please do not reinsert it. - Aoidh (talk) 00:39, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
