Solvilo
Hi. Can you please explain this edit that you made to User:Solvilo? I've noticed you editing the same pages and that edit makes it look as if they are a sockpuppet of yours. As a paid editor, you are already under extra scrutiny and sockpuppetry will do you no favours whatsoever. Thanks SmartSE (talk) 16:49, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Sorry if I have caused some confusion. Solvilo is a work colleague who I am instructing in Wikipedia at the moment. Apologies.Nmwalsh (talk) 10:38, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
- So why were you editing their userpage with this account? If they really are your colleague, then you need to be very open about that fact on both your userpages or else other editors are likely to assume that you are attempting to game the system. I have a couple more questions I'm afraid: why did you move Paul_Davis_(author) to mainspace after it was declined twice at AFC - Draft:Paul_Davis_(author)? And also, what's your link with User:Trident13? That article was originally written by them: User:Trident13/DavisPAuthor and you've violated their copyright by not disclosing that. Finally, I should take this opportunity to warn both you and Solvilo that if you continue to create articles about non-notable subjects that you are being paid to write about, you WILL be blocked per WP:NOTPROMO. Please therefore review WP:CORP and WP:BIO thoroughly. SmartSE (talk) 14:34, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
- I moved the Paul Davis article into the userspace because I thought it was good enough after all the changes. I do not have any idea who Trident13 is and wasn’t even aware of another article. I have already explained that I was teaching Solvilo. This has now ceased forthwith by agreement and from now on Solvilo is on his own. Point taken about the notability. Nmwalsh (talk) 16:31, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
- So the first edit to your draft just happened to have exactly the same content as Trident13's? That seems a bit odd, as does you skirting around a previous AFD which could only be overturned at WP:Deletion review. I've also noticed that Solvilo started editing just after User:DGG came across other problems with your article in April, and I'm therefore going to ask a WP:CHECKUSER to take a look. SmartSE (talk) 16:54, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigation
Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Nmwalsh, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Draft:Teddy Bear Band
Hiya, I'm just helping out since I had my articles accepted and declined. I noticed you need more realiable sources especially when some links seem to ask for a subscription to read the rest of the articke. Also if you can find more articles talking about the band outside of Minnesota. Putting footnotes after sentences will serve better to confirm a source. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_templates I hope this helps, good luck. Sockpuppetry
It has been found that you have been using one or more accounts abusively or have edited logged out to avoid scrutiny. Please review the policy on acceptable alternate accounts. In short, alternate accounts or people to support you should not be used for the purposes of deceiving others into seeing more support for your position. It is not acceptable to use two accounts on the same article, or the same topic area, unless they are publically and plainly disclosed on both your and the other account's userpage.
Your other account(s) have been blocked indefinitely. This is your only warning. If you repeat this behaviour you will blocked from editing without further notice. Thank you. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 04:51, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Please explain
- Can you please explain what's gone on here? Victor W. Hwang was created copying the content from your draft and it's nigh on impossible that you had no communication with the other user. Note that this is still sockpuppetry even if there is no technical evidence from checkusers. It looks to me as if you are trying to game the system. SmartSE (talk) 21:13, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- I have absolutely no idea what is going on with Victor Hwang or anyone who may be connected with him. My last communication with him was May 10 when I resubmitted his page at his request. I sincerely do not have anything to do with his latest activity.Nmwalsh (talk) 22:08, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

I notice your talk page lists extensive newspaper experience. WP is different: an encycopedia has a very different tone than a newspaper or magazine. The manner of writing a newspaper feature story about a person is usually not suited to an encycopedia. We do not write "human interest" stories whose main point is to tell the reader about interesting people they hadn't heard of; we write about notable people, who have done something of significance, and about whom a reader might want factual information.

According to our guideline WP:EL, we do not makes personal links for any but the principal external website. We do not add Facebook, etc. (unless it should be the principal site). This is regarded as a promotional technique, and must be avoided. DGG ( talk ) 14:30, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Nmwalsh/sandbox/Mosaic451
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Nmwalsh/sandbox/Mosaic451, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. COI
Hi, looking at the deleted text, the nature of your edits makes it obvious that you have a financial stake in promoting Mosaic451. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a black hat practice.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Nmwalsh. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Nmwalsh|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message, and explain why your edits indicate that you are being remunerated. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message.
There is no point discussing the restoration or partial restoration of the article until this has been clarified Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:17, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- To clarify, I know you have indicated that you are a paid editor on your user page, but you need to list the articles you have edited on that basis, it's too vague without that. The article is so promotional (even including first-person spamming) that I'm unlikely to restore the whole text Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:24, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for getting back to me so promptly. You are correct, I am a declared paid editor and I do make this plain on articles I edit and on the Talk Page of the article. My client is seeking the copy of the article as it was in the draft. However if you feel that it is pointless in attempting any kind of rewrite I will explain this to my client. Nmwalsh (talk) 13:23, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Comments
Your client needs to be aware that anyone can edit a wikipedia article as long as they follow our rules, they cannot dictate the content or own it in any way. It may help if I clarify why I deleted the article
- it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. Although you gave references, most did not meet those criteria, did not verify the facts they followed, or both. Atleast one had no meaningful content
- it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: bespoke security offering is coupled with their extensive, best in breed, hardware technology... offering... The company has a depth of clients...] is their core competency... The company is committed to staying current on the latest in hacking and security breach trends.... state of the art facility... industry leading [sic] deliver a "best in breed" offering for its customers. Our research and development arm constantly evaluates new and existing technologies to ensure our — it's all spam basically.
- it's all about what the company organisation does, little about the company itself other than locations. To show notability you need hard facts such as the number of employees, turnover or profits in the text.
- there shouldn't be any links to the company other than the main site.
I'll restore the article, so you don't have to start from scratch, but I'll edit out much of the text, please don't revert my change. I'll leave the refs for now, so you can see why they are problematic, but bear in mind that they are mostly inadequate and will need to be replaced.
- restored and edited Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:12, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Nmwalsh. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Annuity Shopper Buyer's Guide".
In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 20:00, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
Revert all changes you made to CodeFuel
I just noticed you made very extensive changes to CodeFuel. As a paid editor, as per WP: COI you may not make direct edits to articles. Please read the WP:COI policy. You may ONLY make suggestions of the Talk page of an article where you have a COI. Please revert ALLL your changes immediately.
This particular article was just extensively revised after months of work involving many editors. HUGE amount of discussion and collaboration went into creating the article, especially by User: Gpeja. I am going to also loop on Gpeja here. CodeFuel is renamed from another article that involved the world of dozens of editors over many years, which you can't just blanket delete without any reason. The new name doesn't mean the old work can be ignored. What you've done makes this carefully created article read like a straight press release. Not only is it going to get reverted by another editor, but you're now risking an editor coming along and restoring the huge amount of inaccurate and biased information that was in the previous version, which I worked hard to get other editors to review and change.
I am sending you this note on your Talk page to give you an opportunity to carefully review WP: COI and make the reversions yourself. I know you have been warned before about violating WP:COI policy, when you did not properly disclose, and this repeat violation would therefore be much more serious if you don't quickly correct it. SO, believe it or not, this is me being quite friendly as you don't want someone else bringing this matter before the WP: COIN board or you will end up being heavily sanctioned (e.g. banned from editing on certain subjects on Wikipedia)
If you're going to be a paid editor here on Wikipedia, as I am on occasion, then you have to bend over backwards to follow the rules or you make it impossibly difficult for other paid editors to function.
After you have reverted ALL your changes, you may suggest whatever you want on the Talk page for the article and independent editors may choose to review and act on them. That's how it works -- you can't make direct edits anymore as a paid editor. That policy was enacted in the summer of 2014 BC1278 (talk) 14:35, 12 October 2015 (UTC)BC1278
- I have reverted the edits. However I must point out that my client, Perion, who are the owners of the Codefuel product are very unhappy with the present article because if its many inaccuracies. They state that this article doesn't fit with Codefuel. They currently don't deal with Toolbars at all. Conduit was dealing with toolbars until they merged with Perion and then CodeFuel was born. Paid COI inquiry
Hello Nmwalsh. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a black hat practice.
If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message.
- per this comment in your sandbox [1]. Based on your talk page it looks like there are several articles with which this may be an issue. JbhTalk 15:22, 19 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi. I am a declared paid editor and state this on my articles. The article mentioned is one I had done a long time ago and had forgotten about. I will delete it from my sandbox. I now state that edits are paid and also include this on the Talk Page of the article. At the time of writing the Sire Life article I was not aware of the rules regarding paid editing, I now strictly adhere to guidelines. Is there a further action I should take at this time? - Further inquiry: I looked in your sandbox and found that you have made no disclosures for Absent Minded, Pat Kearns, Draft:Nmwalsh/sandbox/Mosaic451, Draft:Teddy Bear Band, Bob Halloran (sportscaster). Please go through all of your prior paid articles and make appropriate disclosure on their talk page and for further edits. Because of this and the other talk page discussion about COI editing, I would, personally, prefer to see you list each article you have created and either list the proper disclosure information or make a statement you were not compensated for it. I can not require that of you but it would go a long way towards clearing up any ambiguities. Thank you for your understanding. JbhTalk 13:48, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- No problem. I'll get working on it right away. Nmwalsh (talk) 14:02, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
- Just saying "this has a paid editor" on the talkpage like this is not sufficient per TOS you must disclose employer, client, and affiliation. Please refer to WP:PAID for details. Brianhe (talk) 10:29, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll add those in too. Thank you for letting me know. Nmwalsh (talk) 11:54, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I have permission from the owner and author of the website http://maxmaltzman.com/ to use its text in its entirety for a Wikipedia article I am doing on Max Maltzman. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Nmwalsh/sandbox/Max_Maltzman.
What must I do and how do I show this on the submission of the article for approval?
Nmwalsh (talk) 12:01, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
- Permission to use on Wikipedia is not the same as a release that is appropriate for our use. Wikipedia content must be able to be reproduced and altered and that license cannot be revoked. For more information on what you need to do please see this guide. Specifically the section that says "For text." If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Majora (talk) 12:07, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for the prompt reply. Should I ask the author of the text to release it under the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License and if so is there a form to do this? Nmwalsh (talk) 10:16, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- The person can either put a note on their website that the text is released under a license we can use. It must specifically say, on the page in question, that "The text of this website [or page] is released under the <insert license here>." Or you can get them to fill out this form and email it to OTRS. The email address and instructions for this method are outlined on the page I linked to above under the "For text" section. If you respond to this message here please {{ping}} me since I am not watching this page. Thank you. --Majora (talk) 15:33, 11 January 2016 (UTC)

This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:ShotOnWhat?, from its old location at User:Nmwalsh/sandbox/ShotOnWhat?. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there.
