JSR's edits

JSR's edit was to removing the sourced information, thus a vadalism, I don't see how a complete re-written would make a different, different scholar's opiinons are to be included anyway. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 21:12, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can believe JSR for all you like, that's your personal bais towards him. See the article talk page for my reply. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 21:20, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As for: Doesn't matter, it doesn't change a thing, I provide another scholar source: He's simply lying. He has reverted thrice to the exact same content the he has been pushing all along. No new sources, scholars or text. He neither has the source, nor has he read it, and neither does his source deal in any manner with surgery—on which he likes to edit and push POV. Childish cries of 'believing' and 'bias' are disruptive for those who have warned him before and have even thanked him for taking it easy once and are his way of defending things but vandalism remains vandalism. Saying "Doesn't matter, it doesn't change a thing, I provide another scholar source" after previous promises of refraining from vandalism ("I did not meant it, please forgive me once!") mean that the ditor is used to it. JSR (talk) 21:39, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just one question. JSR (talk) 22:13, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What a prick, don't act like an matured 'adult' (even if you're old) when you have neither the guts nor intelligent to speak up. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 22:32, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the humor and am seriously amused but here's the thing: An editor who simply reverts everything I write (whether its on an article on surgery or his talk page) has for some reason held an entire article hostage and is taking his sweet time to write one line replies (he takes a nano second to undo what I write on his talk page. Is that allowed?) while I'm waking at 4 AM with work tomorrow and making spelling mistakes due to exhaustion. Only on Wikipedia :) Is talking like that allowed BTW? JSR (talk) 22:34, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I revert your removal not edits, what edits you made had revert by me? Shown me. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 22:36, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't care what time you work tomorrow, I have my own life too, so is on your burden besides lying on this page. Get used to it. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 22:37, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lets see: revert 1, revert 2, and a claimed 'move' which is actually a delete. More questions, Anpersonalaccount.JSR (talk) 22:42, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So what? Do you know that 3RR rules doesn't even cover user talk page? If you indend to discuss the matter you should had been discussing on article talk page and take it seriously. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 22:44, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I presume that he did it because he doesn't want people to know that he engaes in vandalism. Can I remove those lines now? Anpersonalaccount is just posting here on this talk page when talk:Sushruta needs replies from him which he doesn't seem to have. JSR (talk) 22:46, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, you're very funny, I did it because you're annoying that's why, not because I wanna cover up my ass. There is nothing for me to hide. As for I engaes in vandalism, shown me again. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 22:48, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nish, keep me posted on the FAC in terms of how you want to proceed; I know you're trying to get your hands on some additional sources. Of course, it would be better if the French editor would come on board to help, but he too seems to have misunderstand WP:V policy and comments about reliability of Wiki as a source. We need to overcome 1) translation concerns, 2) sourcing concerns (including some English language issues that surfaced) and 3) comprehensive concerns. If you think you can do that, I'll continue to leave it open. Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:50, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ORISSA COMMUNAL VIOLENCE

Orissa violence is merely clashes between missionaries and converted Christians clashing with Hindus. There is nothing ethnic about it.

Jobxavier (talk) 21:52, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RELIGION-BASED VIOLENCE

The population of Orissa practise many religions; not Hinduism or Christianity alone. However, only Christians and Hindus fight and kill each other.

It is as such only 'Christian - Hindu clashes'; not religious violence in Orissa. And the issue is not religion; it is allurement-based conversions and benefits of affirmative action, that cause the clashes; as the Page itself says.

On disruptions by new user

Nish, I'm crying 'bias' now. My edits are being reverted and I just spent the night arguing with someone who wrote that I did it because you're annoying. Is there really no procedure for obvious vandalism (content misrepresentation, foul language, POV pushing, revert warring with the same content, verbal abuses, talk page blanking, vandalizing edits made by other people, and disruptive behavior) on Wikipedia? I want to continue editing here without vandals disrupting me.

Regards,

JSR (talk) 23:57, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh by the way, you're the one who failed to accept a source for the sake of your dislike, so don't blame on me. Btw, I don't think that your label as other's as vandal is vaild either. So Nish you should provide him a warning just like what you did over my talk page eariler. You can't continue editing Wikipedia, simply because you lack the will to accept a source nor the time you had to do so. My advice to you is to quit removing source for no reason, and stop acting like a profession because you obviously ain't. Oh and next time, don't bother to tell me that your boss had fired you because you engaged an editing war with some new user over the Wikipedia. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 00:03, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I starting to think that JSR dont even bother to handle the matter seriously, just take a look at what he was writing, I can't let anyone attack an article for whatever level of experience one has, He neither has the source, nor has he read it, Childish cries of 'believing' and 'bias' are disruptive, thanked him for taking it easy once are his way of defending things but vandalism remains vandalism, an entire article hostage and is taking his sweet time to write one line replies, I'm crying 'bias' now, are those the things I should accept? Tell me. Anpersonalaccount (talk) 01:02, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

After much trolling, user: Anpersonalaccount was blocked. He continued to undo edits made by other people on the only place he could, his talk page. [1][2] :) JSR (talk) 07:51, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry if I have been troubling you in the recent past. As far as I'm concerned I called a spade a spade but will refrain once his block expires (I'm not sure his fascination with me is about to end though). This was my first dealing with an uncivil person on Wikipedia and I was under stress, exhaustion, and frankly irritation while dealing with him. I hope I have not soured things too much. JSR (talk) 20:42, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out but that's not really the heart of the issue. The heart of the issue is why does he revert war and become uncivil to those who have been more than amicable to him? Following his block I placed a message on his page and that's when he even reverted that message. My comments are meant more to highlight his general pattern than to keep my message on his talk page. Thanks and regards, JSR (talk) 06:50, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am currently busy with my work, but just for a note. I had face those who were more amicable than you, frankly I not interested in them. Your "amicable“ isn't the reason for me to be uncivil with you, even though a Tamil nationalist like you does makes me feel annoying, is more on the soft language you used on an admin talk page and the wrongly assuming as well, but that's your own general pattern. I think the heart of the issue was that I am unable to provide more ref in the meantime, however I still would try, given if I had more time on Wikipedia. Thanks Anpersonalaccount (talk) 08:15, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Today's DYK's

Whats the deal with some of todays DYKs? DYK is supposed to be based on pure fact. The tagline for Geoffrey Ballard is clearly based on a POV "Hero" proclamation by Time magazine, not exactly a solid factually based line and the tagline for Ru Ba Bu or wahtever the Indian film is named, it syas it is the "cinematic adaption" of the "film". This looks very poor in that is clearly isn't a cinematic adaption of something as they are both cinematic media in which one would't need to be "adapted". I heard that they were tightening up regulations on DYK's but I think the regulators are focusing far too much on length of the articles or length of the tagline and referencing rather than the quality and legitimacy of the taglines themsevles. I've noticed "facts" on the front page many times recently based on POV that somebody was called a "Wonder of the Twentieth Century" etc etc and it is an easy target for the media to pick up on and to continue reporting wikipedia in a negative way in terms of neutrality. Hello, I saw that you are a portal peer review volunteer. I have worked much for the improvement of my portal, but some concerns may remain:

  • Is the image at the top of the page useful and aesthetic, or should I remove or replace it ?
  • Problem with the selected biography: I contented myself with writing a short sentence as an introduction for each personality. Then I wrote the beginning of the biography, then put a link "more..." to the complete article. Is it approriate ?
  • Selected images are not of the same size. Is it really a problem ? It should be noted that free images for comics are very rare.
  • Is the presentation of the news correct ? I did not specified the exact date of each event, only the month, because I do not know it.
  • If you have any other recommendations about other aspects of the portal, do not hesitate ! It MUST become a featured portal ! Thanks. (Please reply here).--Pah777 (talk) 22:02, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Answering your question

The AN/I thread is horribly long, and does not need any more tangents, so I will answer your question here. I helped create Wikipedia:Editing restrictions and Wikipedia:General sanctions. As a result, I am more familiar than I want to be with most of the hot spots on Wikipedia. I have a collection of methods and tools that help expedite tedious tasks like analyzing protection logs and contribution histories. I also get tips from Wikipedians via email almost daily, and keep an eye on a collection of pages that seem to be magnets for disruptive editors. For instance, search engine optimization attracts a large number of spammers. Per WP:BEANS, I don't want to reveal too many details. In this case, I was NOT canvassed by ChrisO nor Dbachmann. I found the thread and the evidence independently of them. Jehochman Talk 19:56, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Professional translators

Hey Nish, just wondering who those professional translators are who helped you with M'ba. Of course the problem has arisen at the new 1964 Gabon FAC [rolls eyes]. ~one of many editorofthewikis (talk/contribs/editor review)~ 01:20, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EOTW, you have to understand that featured articles are Wikipedia's best work, and as such, we have to be 100% sure that every last fact in the article is accurate, and worthy of printing in a written encyclopedia. You keep stating that the online translators only assisted your attempts at translation to English, but you also say that your understanding of French is "well, pretty bad". So the FAC reviewers should feel confident that the article is accurate without an editor fluent in French to verify such? As an aside, I am quite disappointed that you had to include "[rolls eyes]" in your comment. Actually, I did post comments [7] and [8] to User talk:Alex2706, but they were almost immediately deleted by the user. In addition to these messages, I also posted a message to Talk:Fidel Castro, to attempt to engage the user in discussion. siℓℓy rabbit (talk) 01:57, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the reason for the simple edit summaries was that I wasn't sure if I was reverting to the version I had intended to. The pagesize was different, and so I reverted again because I wanted to get it back to the version by Lightmouse. I'm not really sure what happened, and I am nearly always very careful to avoid 3rr. It would have been nicer for everyone involved (Alex too, from the looks of things) if you had just posted a friendly message instead of blocking. Blocking to "enforce the rules" is pretty heavy-handed, and I definitely found it upsetting. I have poured a lot of thankless energy into Wikipedia, and more often than not I have to deal with (and be friendly to) people who are critical, want to push a particular POV, or (in my own field) promote some bit of original research. I get so little positive feedback that incidents like this one are particularly disheartening. I suggest that you take this to heart in the future when blocking the next hardworking Joe editor in an incident like this one. siℓℓy rabbit (talk) 02:08, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
