Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources - right now only one primary source is in the article. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Do not override the reviewer by cutting the templates. I have restored the template now. Bruxton (talk) 01:36, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Bruxton I'm not certain why it was pushed to draft in the first place. I was in the middle of creating it, got busy, had to put it on hold for a couple of hours, then got back and published it as a stub. Seems unnecessary to have been pushed to draft in the first place, quite literally the first time I've had it done to anything I've written. What was different about this one? nf utvol (talk) 01:47, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
- You created an article about a company which was referenced by the company. That is called WP:PRIMARY and it appears to be WP:PROMO. I sent it to draft so that you would have time to improve it and add actual secondary sources. Bruxton (talk) 02:14, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Bruxton I get that, and totally understand the WP: PRIMARY restrictions. Why not just tag it with a sources needed template, give it an opportunity to be improved, and push it to draft and review if it isn't fixed in a couple of days, instead of adding to the huge AfC backlog? I'm just trying to understand what your reasoning is here, I've been editing for many years and while I have a ton to learn still, this just seems like an odd course of action for good faith edits. nf utvol (talk) 02:23, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Beardstown, Tennessee, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Union, Confederate and Perry County. April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive
[edit]G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:
- tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
- adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
- updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
- creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.

Speedy deletion nomination of Jack Miller Center
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jack Miller Center, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Moving to Commons
[edit]Hey cuz, just to let you know, I'm moving some of your free license images over to http://commons.wikimedia.org, which is the best place for them to be. This allows other wiki projects, including those of other languages, to access them, whereas they can only be accessed by the English Wikipedia when uploaded to this website. Images include:
- Image:Villseal.JPG → commons:Image:VillanovaSeal.jpg
- Image:Phlcityhalldetail.jpg → commons:Image:Phlcityhalldetail.jpg
- Image:Corrhall.JPG → commons:Image:CorrHall.jpg
- Image:Villmonastery.JPG → commons:Image:VillanovaMonastery.jpg
I may move Image:TNANG.gif at some point, but I'm unsure of its copyright status. I'm also not moving Image:BA UT.jpg because I'm unsure if that might actually fall under the university's copyright. I *shouldn't* have moved Image:Villseal.JPG for exactly the same reason, but we'll see how that goes. In the future, why not upload to the Commons instead of here? If you need help, or want me to upload stuff, just let me know. -- Huntster T • @ • C 12:28, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Compaq Presario 9500
[edit]I have nominated Compaq Presario 9500, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Compaq Presario 9500. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. National Museum of the United States Air Force
[edit]You tagged the National Museum of the United States Air Force article with {{cleanup}} on Nov. 30, 2007. Please go to talk:National Museum of the United States Air Force and give a critique of what you believe is wrong with the article, or at least a few examples. Thanks. --rogerd (talk) 15:21, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Free airport images
[edit]Hey cuz, I've nominated the MMI and M08 images for deletion, because I located and uploaded to Commons some free ones. Check out Image:MMIAthens.jpg and Image:M08Bolivar.jpg. I've done the same for the Perry County image on Commons, so everything should be taken care of. Turns out the USGS has aerial images hosted over at Terraserver, so decent free imagry is available for any airport. Only problem is that the images tend to be a bit old, and it does occasionally show (especially at MMI), but free is always better than not free, especially if it just needs to get the point across. Call if you have questions. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 00:28, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: Deutsch!
[edit]Cuz, I'm the dork, you are just mentally deficient. However, given that you are conversant (or at least literate) in another language, I suppose that means you are, in some small way, superior to me. However, that may change soon, as I've been nominated for administratorship on the site! (please, no applause...) I shall lord that over you for years to come. Just because. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 21:56, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:
[edit]I've moved both of the files, so there won't be a conflict. See my reply at Talk:Nashville International Airport#BNA Map. Remember two things: 1) when you are adding a section to a talk page, remember to put it at the bottom so it's in chronological order, and 2) when uploading images, don't worry about long filenames...make them as descriptive as possible. Lemme know if you have any more problems. — Huntster (t @ c) 06:22, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

- Suggestion, create an archive/subpage and then go back into "history", copy/paste the deleted paragraphs into your archive/subpage. Easier to back reference, if need be. LanceBarber 18:51, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed, I was meaning to suggest this myself. If you'd want this done cuz, I'll take care of it. -- Huntster T • @ • C 18:49, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, man -- much thanks on all your hard work and pluck on the Villanova article. It's been a thorn in my side for some time, now. I was wondering if you had any friends who've been involved with Special Olympics in recent years who might be willing to license a photo under the GFDL for us. I'm thinking maybe one of those ubiquitous "hugging" pictures -- might be nice for the article. Thanks again!! — MusicMaker5376 03:31, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

WikiCookie
[edit]Re: TWRA
[edit]Hey hey, yeah, haven't talked to you in a while...gimme a call sometime. Uh, I reverted your revert on TWRA. The reason is that the category that was added ("State law enforcement agencies of Tennessee") is a child (subcategory) of "Government of Tennessee", so there is no reason to have them both in there. Basically, parent categories aren't really useful for inclusion when child categories are presents...it's replication of effort. Make sense? Cause I'm tired and can't tell. blah. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 04:19, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- What, the user who originally changed out the categories? No, that's some other random person. I don't have any other accounts, or any bots. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 21:58, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Nashville International Airport
[edit]The article Nashville International Airport you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Nashville International Airport for reasons why the nomination failed. Disambiguation link notification
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Nashville International Airport, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mountain Air (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Yazoo Brewing.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Yazoo Brewing.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. [edit]I read through the draft page and signed it. Hope you don't mind that I modified some of the text; some of the wording seemed awkward to me. Nyttend (talk) 03:25, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks; I just did, since I accidentally mixed moods with the first edit. I now have a concern with the proposed remedies, however — we never require users to employ citation templates. The problem with this editor's behavior is a failure to provide proper citations, but as long as necessary elements are included (author if known, title, publisher, date and place of publication, and page number if applicable) there's no need to use a template at all. Therefore, I'd suggest that you rework the proposed remedy, because otherwise I'll have to un-certify. Nyttend (talk) 14:34, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- I wholly agree with your revision; thank you. Nyttend (talk) 15:40, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Better source request for File:Yazoo Brewing.jpg
[edit]Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:
You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 21:23, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

File source problem with File:TNANG.gif
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:TNANG.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Request for review
[edit]I saw your request for a reviewer, so here goes it:
- The historical carving up of the counties might be illustrated with old maps, see Door_Peninsula#County_border_adjustments as an example of what that might look like.
- You could look at the Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth to see if there are any photos of Perry County. Possibly one will show enough to illustrate the county borders.
- The "Age pyramid Perry County" is dated, and should be labeled as "during the year 2000" or something similar it is kept. It is possible to make your own age pyramid, see File:DoorCounty2010Population.svg and File:DoorCounty1970Population.svg, which I made with Inkscape. Inkscape is free, but prone to crashing.
- For the economy section, you might want to add GDP data from the Federal Reserve. For an example, see Economy_of_Door_County,_Wisconsin#Gross_domestic_product. Even just the overall GDP and the top sectors would work. I think there might be more notable individuals; look around and see who has wikipedia articles. See also should have an asterisk.
- The infobox picture of the courthouse could be larger, or the TN map could be smaller.
- Transportation could be illustrated with an aerial photo from EarthExplorer showing the highways. For an example, see Sister_Bay,_Wisconsin#Transportation.
- Election results should be in its own section with the { { clear } } template underneath.
- If possible, separate bunched up references such as [14][5][9][15] to be in different parts throughout the paragraph.

- @Epiphyllumlover Perfect, thanks for the review notes! I'll work on those as soon as I have a chance. always good to have a second set of eyes! nf utvol (talk) 21:54, 14 May 2022 (UTC)
- I liked seeing the pictures. It is possible to run the article through deadlinkchecker.com. After putting in the url, select, "Check single webpage" and wait to see what turns up. The jstor ones are most likely just fine and Toms Creek shows up since it is a red link, but the other ones might really be dead, although you never know without checking each one, and I didn't do that.
- To prevent the existing live links from being lost when someday they also die, copy and paste
javascript:void(window.open('https://web.archive.org/save/'+location.href));
into your browser toolbar; you can visit each reference and click on the toolbar button so it will save the link if it is not already saved. --Epiphyllumlover (talk) 21:58, 24 May 2022 (UTC)- I'm not sure if you saw File:ISS044-E-433 - View of Tennessee.jpg. Maybe could be used somewhere if not on the main county article, although it is too light. There were two more taken with about the same view, File:ISS044-E-434 - View of Tennessee.jpg and File:ISS044-E-435 - View of Tennessee.jpg. This one is not too light: File:STS073-E-5092 2 Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River.jpg, but File:ISS028-E-11824 - View of Tennessee.jpg might be too light.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 03:22, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
- List of radio stations in Tennessee has one or more stations in the county described on it. Possible the stations could be added to the article. I don't feel up to adding it myself, but you might want to. Also, you could work in Kentucky Lake or any applicable items from this list, if any are in the county: List_of_dams_and_reservoirs_in_the_United_States#Tennessee--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 20:41, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

- You could look over List_of_lakes_of_the_United_States#Tennessee and see if any are in the county. THE LATE NIAGARAN STRATA OF WEST TENNESSEE on the first page describes a unique type of hill found in Perry County and the surrounding article. Something about the hills could be added to the part about the high ridges. Mapping the Agricultural Assets of Perry County, Tennessee has a lot of economic information and you might find something for the Economy section. Page 14 of this periodical has an article about Alexander Cave, which could be mentioned somewhere. There is also a Master's thesis with a citation, Lawhon, William T. Ecology of Alexander Cave, Perry County, TN. MSU thesis, 1969. 33 pp, but it is not on the internet. If you get ahold of it, you could use it as a source anyway. Another cave is described on page 29 of this. pdf p. 22 of this could be a source for the history section. Things in this state report where the county ranks unusually high or low for the state might go in under "Healthcare" if you changed it to "Health".--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 15:29, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- Page 12 of this could be mentioned in the article. This YouTube video could also be a source. page 7 of this and page 2 of this could go in the economy section.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 14:50, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- I got your request on my talk page, but it looks like I won't be able to help you since the powers that be will ban me from the site shortly. I hope you understand, and don't feel too left behind be me, and won't hold it against them. It was neat editing the article with you, I learned about Perry County that way, which is a beautiful place. Goodbye.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 21:22, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
- Got to copyediting it before the ban sets in. I wondered about the adjective "secessionist" in Perry County, Tennessee#Notes. If it refers to a pro-CSA rather than Union alignment, then it could be wikilinked as secessionist so people unfamiliar with the adjective can figure out what it means. Or maybe the adjective should be segregationist; I don't know. Got to the part about the Wisconsin governor, and felt that was especially meant for me to learn, since all things work together for good.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 00:31, 6 August 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Beardstown, Tennessee, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Union, Confederate and Perry County. March Madness 2017
[edit]G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:
- tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
- updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

Re: Miscellany
[edit]I'm afraid not. For some reason, they let everyone but me and two others take off from work for the break...I get stuck in Murfreesboro.
- Doh... Thanks, though. Looks like someone has just used that file on the Japanese wiki. Haha, didn't see that coming...nf utvol (talk) 15:09, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a reassessment.— PCB 06:46, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:37, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

- The infobox picture of the courthouse could be larger, or the TN map could be smaller.
- Transportation could be illustrated with an aerial photo from EarthExplorer showing the highways. For an example, see Sister_Bay,_Wisconsin#Transportation.
