Count (Mikael Eldridge) DJ Shadow & No Doubt Producer Deletion
Hello NawlinWiki,
I am still waiting for a response regarding the deletion of music producer Count (Mikael Eldridge). As mentioned, all of the musical projects he produces are wikipedia friendly projects including official radiohead and frank sinatra releases. you can confirm at vertebraeproductions.com. You deleted the page for Count before i entered any information with sources. We are on this end wondering why talented producers for huge hit major major bands are not permitted to have wikipedia pages. That seems really wrong, considering that the Producer, in the music industry, is one of the most important parts of an album. without the producer, there wouldn't be an album. without an album there wouldn't be hit bands (most of the time). If you will not permit important major music producers a factual wiki page, what kind of encyclopedia does mr. Wales hope to build for the wikipedia music project? crazywanda

Hello NawlinWiki,
I would like to hear from you some more explanation about the deletion of the article Easynews I have started few minutes ago. MyWorld Deletion
Y'know, I did check out the wizard, and it doesn't cover much about what passes as a viable Video Game. Every time it was deleted, I went on a whim and improved the page according to the rules. When one rule was filled and the article still deleted, I tried another rule, finally coming to the conclusion that the issue was citation... What passes as "Notable" is a relative term and should be far more expanded upon. If you had said at first MyWorld didn't pass, for the reason you gave, then that would of saved us both an hour or so. Nethertheless, point taken.

Maryam Noroozian
I agree that the article on Maryam noroozian was a bit brief, but it did make a "plausible assertion" of notability in claiming that she was a prominent neurologist in Iran. I don't know if this faculty bio bears up to WP:ACADEMIC, but she does appear to be a fairly prominent player in the Iranian neurological community. Cape Town Gospel Choir deletion
Hello NawlinWiki. Not sure why you have deleted the page for the Cape Town Gospel Choir, a new choir founded by a large existing events promotor (separately listed on Wikipedia), with a history of hundreds of public events involving hundreds of thousands of people over the last 13 years in both the UK and South Africa. Please could you reactivate the page?

Tubz
Hello NawlinWiki,
Why have you remove my article Tubz. It is not advertising. It is a history of Tubz. Most people included Nestle have similiar pages. I have had other Administrators look at the page and they have help me with the layout and wording of the page (as I new to Wikipedia). So I can not understand how you can just go to a page and delete it with out looking into this matter further.
I am waiting for an expanation and any help you can offer as it has taken a long time to write this article. You quick respone would be nice as it was deleted very quickly.

National Happyism
Hello NawlinWiki,
I hope you will reinstate the National Happyism page. Besides the Diener reference cited, I will also present research on this with the Chair of the UCLA Economics Department, Roger Farmer, on my television program, Economic Solutions, on KGEM in Monrovia, CA. This program will be taped on 6 April 2010, and you may view four earlier telecasts via this link on the KGEM Website: http://kgem.tv/category/economic-solutions/. Upon telecasting the program (called "How the Economy Works," previewing elements of Prof. Farmer's forthcoming book of the same name), KGEM will also post the link for live streaming, which we would be happy to cite on Wikipedia as an additional reference.
Thanks for reconsidering.

'Wikipedia - A New Community of Practice?' Deletion
Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but you marked Wikipedia_-_A_New_Community_of_Practice? for deletion as 'not notable' so here goes...
There are currently no external sources to indicate notability due to the fact that the book was published in September 2009. I have a copy in front of me, and it is an academic treatment of the Wikipedia community, particularly as a Community of Practice, and as such I thought it would be relevant to include in the category of 'books about wikipedia'. I was in the process of writing a bit more as a description of the book and have now filled out the article slightly, including a few references. Since it's an academic book, the Wikipedia:Notability_(books)#Academic_books guidelines suggest that it need only be based on 'how influential the book is considered to be in its specialty area, or adjunct disciplines' and this appears to be the only serious book on Wikipedia from a historical sociological perspective (rather than, for example, a computer science perspective). I would also point out that the author is speaking at an academic conference on wikipedia in March this year.
As an administrator, then, do you recommend writing a better description of the book for the article, based on sources from around the web, or perhaps deleting the article and waiting until the book is cited by enough other publications and papers? — M3TAinfo @ 17:53, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- What constitutes 'sufficient' reviews, then? Would the author speaking at a relevant conference on the books subject not be relevant for notability? I'm not sure what harm it does to keep it there, now, since the article does now have references and link to reviews added, particularly given the caveat about academic book notability in the guidelines. — M3TAinfo @ 18:06, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
I have opened an AfD since deletion is not uncontroversial; see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wikipedia - A New Community of Practice?. —KuyaBriBriTalk 23:19, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

I was about to create an article for the British rapper Fugative but saw that one had previously existed and was deleted by yourself. Please could you let me know the reasons why and whether it would be worth my time creating a new one.
He's an up-an-coming artist who has been signed by Kirk Burrowes, a business parter of P Diddy (see'Fugative Wanted'). His debut single 'Supafly' reached Number 48 in the UK chart (see Fugative - The Official Website).

Deletion of Links
NawlinWiki, you have deleted links I added, with the following explanation (excerpt):
"Please do not add advertising or inappropriate external links to Wikipedia..., advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. ...See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:32, 5 February 2010 (UTC)"
I added a link to our advocacy group which focuses on the issue of beach access in Fairfield, CT (page: "Fairfield Beach") We are not a "for-profit" site in any way, nor, did I post for "advertising or promotion." We do not collect fees, sell merchandise, or request dues in any sense. Our site is informational. We are an important local group with over 1,100 members, and important in as much a way as the Residents Association, which you have left intact. I would also point out that links in the "dog behavior" page which you mentioned do indeed have much advertising within. Wiki is littered with countless thousands of external commercial links... many of which I have used... (starting point: what do you think IMDB is, which is connected with virtually any Wiki page concerning a movie?), I have no clue how you make the claim otherwise. Could you please remove the protection of Anglophilia?
Hi!
I tried to move the aforementioned article to Anglophile, as per Talk:Anglophilia#Why Anglophilia?. It turned out to be impossible. As far as I understand the log, some vandal moved the page to Insanity in 2008, giving you some trouble with restoration, after which you semi-protected the page; this was later changed to an immobility protection (by a user who isn't very active nowadays).
Could you please remove this restriction, or move the article yourself? (Provided, of course, you don't disagree with the proposed move; in which case I'd be interested of learning why!) JoergenB (talk) 15:15, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

cfcuk
Hi
Please can you explain why you are considering deleting the cfcuk page about the Chelsea football fanzine cfcuk.
Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blueblagger (talk • contribs) 14:10, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- As stated in the AFD discussion, because the article cites no sources (see WP:V) to indicate that this fanzine is notable (see WP:N). NawlinWiki (talk) 15:29, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Hi
The fanzine is 'notable' in as much as it is the only Chelsea supporters' printed organ to criticise the club's policy, especially highlighting mal-treatment of supporters. As well as that, while other fanzines connected with other football teams now cost £1.50 or even £2, the price of cfcuk has always been and always will be £1.
I hope that is a satisfactory explanation —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blueblagger (talk • contribs) 21:25, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter if you, or I, think it's notable. You need to find reliable independent sources that acknowledge its notability. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:11, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
OK, I will change the way that I have phrased what I wrote - I hope that that will suffice - thank you for the information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blueblagger (talk • contribs) 22:18, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

- Update: User:Mecanismo is at it again, even after I requested the AfD be closed as keep after another editor found enough refs to establish notability. see my talk page (at the bottom). Hi NawlinWiki, I'm --Memorialhighschool (talk) 22:42, 18 February 2010 (UTC)Memorialhighschool. I'd just like to say that there is this really cool illusionist that goes to our school and he wants to be an illusionist and give all the money that people buy for his tickets to charities for Haiti and other charities. How great of a person is that? Too great that I feel like we all should learn from this. So I decided to write an article about him and the reason why I put Idk was so that I can interview him someday and replace the Idk with information. Doesn't that just all make sense? Now if you are a nice person like I hear you are *cough* you might as well think about how those poor Haiti people are suffering. Oh and his name is Carter Blackburn if you don't know him. Please Alison and NawlinWiki. If you really would like to do something good for Haiti please help expand my articles instead of deleting them and ignoring my pleas. Yes and I believe Wikipedia administrators should actually think twice before they mindlessly click delete on our articles that we worked hard on. If I were an administrator I would do something different than what NawlinWiki did. And Alison, I understand why you blocked me last night. But it's okay because I really shouldn't have spammed random talk articles. I apologize for being so "spammy" (if that's a word) but NawlinWiki really needs to think of what others have been telling her. Please stop deleting our articles and at least think what you're doing! It's not so hard.

The band has seen their last two albums reaching spots 27 and 36 on the national album chart in Sweden. They are distributed by Sony Music Entertainment, a very major distributor.

Cam Parker should not have been deleted. It had sources to prove he is an actor and that he is a real person. The sources even said what roles he has been in. You didn't even give any warning to this being deleted. You should have spoke to me first. This is extremely unfair. Hi NawlinWiki
A quick query to do with artists. If I create an artists profile on Wikipedia it is removed as promotion - yet major artists such as damien hirst, banksy etc have pages on wikipedia without issue. If all my artist profile does is place an entry about an artist, and explain their work - is this promotion? Is the case merely that when a person becomes famous enough it is no longer seen as promotion, i'm confused?

Re: speedy deletion of The Rhythm Messiahs
Hello NawlinWiki...
Your speedy deletion of the band The Rhythm Messiahs did not seem to take into account the content and talk pages which documented radio play, reviews, and free download audience size. If you were to have investigated the links provided, you would have seen that I documented that The Rhythm Messiahs albums have been downloaded 50,000+ times globally, was reviewed by WZRD and featured in a LoathMegaCorp (a Portland, Oregon art group) podcast. I realize that posting my own band/moniker does not bode well for objectivity, but if you had read the entry you would have noted that the language was neutral, except for a positive slant from the quoted WZRD review.
I don’t want to go into the philosophy on this… I’ll admit that The Rhythm Messiahs has not “gone gold” in a single country– but I believe the size of its audience (who download albums freely) and at least some USA college radio play (which is hard to document) merit a mention in a globally comprehensive encyclopedia (The Rhythm Messiahs have a globally dispersed audience, focused in the USA and Europe, but spread across 167 countries). I fear that Wikipedia may become too “mega-corp-press-incestuous” if it looks only at mainstream and not alternative presses and also college radio… but also new ways of distributing media, such as torrents.
A serious effort has been made on the part of Post Egoism Media to promote this band, with limited success… already, not “up and coming.” Again, maybe to get too philosophical, the Wikipedia “biodiversity” vs. “notability” requires drawing the line somewhere: I recognize this. But why shouldn’t brute “download” numbers count as much as mainstream media reviews that bands get simply because their label is well connected?
Even if you still believe The Rhythm Messiahs is not notable… and even merits a speedy deletion despite the moderate size of its download audience (enough to fill a college football stadium), I’d hope that in the future you might champion the notion that audience size (even limited fame) should be a factor in notability, as well as mainstream press coverage (prestige)… and that alternative presses and alternative media distribution channels such as torrents (and in some cases, even MySpace promotions), should count towards notability when they are verifiably successful to some degree and scale.
Thanks, J.D. Casten
Jdcasten (talk) 16:34, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
P.S.: I take it that documenting two independent reviews is insufficient for notability.Jdcasten (talk) 16:50, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
P.P.S.—that podcast was mentioned in a webpage that only introduced its audience to the band; by the letter of the law, I believe the documented WZRD review, which is independent, would be sufficient to establish the non-self-referential nature of The Rhythm Messiahs; but in the spirit of the law I’ll take your word for the prohibition on conflict of interest vis a vis me and my collaborators, even when it is based in citing an independent source or two. I’ll drop it here, and hope for additional reviews that spur a listener to create a The Rhythm Messiahs Wikipedia entry. Thanks again… for helping hone my understanding of Wikipedia protocol.Jdcasten (talk) 17:08, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Sparkle in Grey
Dear NawlinWiki...
I got your message about the delition of the Sparkle in Grey page. I don't agree with the fact that this page doesn't meet the notabilty requirements, for the following reasons: - there is a very simiar one in the Italian wikipedia. I think that having a translation in the English Wikipedia may be something good; - the artis/band colloborated with other artists wich are more 'notable', like Maurizio Bianchi and Tel La Homa, which pages contains referments to Sparkle in Grey; - the page doesn't contain sort of advertising or promotion sentences about the music or the band: it's just a normal info page. So please consider the idea of keeping it alive.
Thanks a lot, cheers,

Re: Speedy deletion of Sparkle in Grey
Hi again NawlinWiki,
As you suggested in your reply, I checked the notability criteria at this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:MUSIC#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles
and, apart of the collaboration with notable artists and the presence on the Italian wikipedia, I think that Sparkle in Grey can meet the following criterias:
1. Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable.
There are a lot of reviews, articles and interviews to the band in national (Italian) and international magazines and online magazines; you may eventually check here for a whole list: http://www.greysparkle.com/sig/album_07_aqp_reviews.htm
or here to see the most notable: France: http://www.autresdirections.net/article.php3?id_article=1526&Valider=go USA: http://thesilentballet.com/dnn/Home/tabid/36/ctl/Details/mid/367/ItemID/2155/Default.aspx Italy: http://www.greysparkle.com/sig/sparkle_in_grey-intervista-blowup.jpg Italy: http://www.rockit.it/intervista/735/sparkle-in-grey-mail Italy: http://www.greysparkle.com/sig/sparkle_in_grey-intervista-rockerilla.jpg
5. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).
Albums of Sparkle in Grey and Sparle in Grey members/aliases were released by:
Digitalis Industries (USA), active since 1999 Afe Records (ITA) active since 1996 Disasters by Choice (ITA) active since 1999 Musica di un Certo Livello (ITA) active since 2004
12. Has been the subject of a half-hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network.
Sparkle in Grey have been interview on radio broadcast several times, you can find a list here as above (http://www.greysparkle.com/sig/album_07_aqp_reviews.htm) or eventually check some example or recording: - Notturna, Radio Popolare [national Italian radio network], by Renato Scuffietti, 18th June 2008, 0:40 - 1:30, telephone interview + tracks from "A Quiet Place" album http://www.radiopopolare.it/poplive/diretta/
Thanks a lot, cheers,

James "Jimmy" Shuhan Lin Page Deletion
Not sure if you read my discussion page post, but Lin certainly has some local presence and significance withing the organization of Mu Alpha Theta, and as A7 of the Speedy Deletion rules page states, if there is any credible claim of relevance at all, even if not cited with sufficient evidence, the article cannot be deleted for the reason of lack of relevance. I did post that Lin has consistently scored well on the AMC test, or American Mathematics Contests, and has placed in several events at the Mu Alpha Theta National Convention in the years 2008 and 2009, both in his artwork for the club posters as well as in the Gemini contest, and helped his high school place 12th nationally. He also places is many local contests and his name has been published in several local newspapers, such as here http://rodeo.cincinnati.com/getlocal/gpstory.aspx?id=100050&sid=157653
Regardless of whether or not you have heard of him, Lin definitely has decent local relevance in the community as well as within the organization of Mu Alpha Theta, and this certainly falls under the description of a credible claim of relevance, and thus cannot be deleted for the reason you have posted.

Hello there, I noticed the article I created called Myagi Australia was deleted. I didn't even get a chance to discuss it as it was promptly deleted. I think the notability was there, sources, references for a an Australian company. Going by your logic, you should delete Kogan Technologies as well because it is similarly based article on an Australian company. The article I wrote wasn't any advertising or cheerleading, it was just a company stub similar to the company stubs everywhere in the wikipedia.Takamaxa (talk) 08:35, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- The Kogan article is supported by numerous reference to independent sources which show the company's notability per WP:CORP. If you can do the same for Tyagi Australia, feel free to repost. NawlinWiki (talk) 12:54, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Excuse Me? What's The Problem?!
Look, my wiki on my site was deleted! GOOGLE AND YAHOO GET TO BE ON WIKIPEDIA BUT NOT PUDINCE! This is ridiculous and it was mentioned in the article; "This page is not for advertismental purposes" SO WHAT IS THE BIG IDEA?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pudince (talk • contribs) 12:48, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
Account compromise
I switched from User:Qwerty449 to User:Qwerty451 because my former account was hijacked. Can you revert - with fulfilling my all requests - and block former User:Qwerty449 account - he vandalizes VRML and X3D? Qwerty451 (talk) 19:36, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Hijacker of my former account strikes back in VRML and X3D, please block him, thanks. Qwerty451 (talk) 21:22, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Reference
Please add to VRML#cite_note-3 missing Media Machines Management title, because it is internal title of page used as reference. Now this reference shows only titleless number with brackets which looks ugly and weird. I ask this because article is protected and I cannot do this from my new account. Re: Speedy Deletion of Spose
The only reason I considered Spose to be notable is because it was featured on KROQ for possible airtime, which is one of the most (if not the most) influential radio stations in the United States. I understand if you mistook it for a 'garage band' add, but I have no knowledge of him apart from the two sources that I cited. Sanzoneja (talk) 22:05, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Request Article Review
{{helpme}} Hi NawlinWiki - Per the comment on notability, I've edited the MyBuilder article on my specials page (26 Feb) to include multiple references. Can I please have it reviewed now that I've added references? Many thanks for your input.
