Hello MrLinkinPark333. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Ampcofilms/The Dragon Pearl (2011), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not over the top promotional and with a notable director and cast, the chances of this one passing the GNG are pretty good. Thank you. Guerillero | Parlez Moi 01:46, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

After some more searching WP:G13 seems to fit here. --Guerillero | Parlez Moi 01:47, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: User:Dgheimjoseph/Dgheim number

[edit]

Hello MrLinkinPark333. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Dgheimjoseph/Dgheim number, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: not a G11, though there is COI. This is a real thing, but doesn't seem notable; I will take to MfD. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 09:54, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ocarina of Time and username question

[edit]

Hi, I was wondering if you could either restore the following link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Tristam/sandbox or look at its history and transcribe the page before it was deleted unto a pastebin for me. The user who nominated it for deletion claims it was a copy of the Ocarina of Time page but it wasn't. It had more extensive details and quotations from an interview that I'd never seen before. (I know it wasn't made up by the user because its content is referred to in the first question of this interview: http://web.archive.org/web/20040623040945/http://www.miyamotoshrine.com/theman/interviews/042399.shtml) I reiterate, the info isn't available elsewhere that I know of. Another thing. Is it possible to check who signed up with a particular name via an IP? I may or may not have created this while at my old job, but if I did then I didn't sign it up with an email since I can't recover a password. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Allytogood If you have to check for an IP, I can get someone from my job to post but I'm going to assume they use static IPs (being a telecom company). It's not a big deal, but if I could I'd like to have a uniform moniker on all sites. I'm sure you understand. Ally2good (talk) 20:27, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Northamerica1000: This message was meant for you, since I was the one who nominated it, not deleted it. Could this message to your talkpage since it was meant for you, and not me? --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 21:06, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what that means, but go for it. Ally2good (talk) 16:31, 22 February 2016 (UTC) Edit: I looked it up. Please do so. Ally2good (talk) 16:33, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Could you userfy the content one more time, this time to my current account here? Thanks! I'll make sure the merge the usable info this time! Allytogood (talk) 04:44, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: User:Allanafuah/AllanAfuah

[edit]

Hello MrLinkinPark333. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Allanafuah/AllanAfuah, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: I don't see how this is promotional. It's evidently a test page, and long unused, but nothing would be gained by deleting it. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 15:12, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

...and the same goes for User:Amused reader/Amused Reader. That self-description would be perfectly acceptable as a user page, and is doing no harm. Generally, people's stale user pages should be left alone unless there is some actual problem: even then, replacing with {{Inactive userpage blanked}} is usually enough, and is less WP:BITEy if the user should one day return. Deletion does not save space, because deleted pages are retained in the database. JohnCD (talk) 15:20, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

BibISBN templates

[edit]

Hi, thanks for asking about these. They would have been copied from German Wikipedia to support translated articles. As they aren't linked any more I suspect editors have replaced the templates at the articles concerned. So I have no problem if they nominated for deletion. --Bermicourt (talk) 19:52, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. However, I've seen some usage of the template (even if it doesn't work) here:. Should i remove the usage of the BibIbsn? --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 02:01, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, I checked those links. I can see what the template is trying to do. Basically you create a Template for a commonly used book using its ISBN e.g. Template:BibISBN/0801857899 and fill in the parameters. The main BibISBN template is used with just the ISBN to call the individual book and display it in the standard reference/bibliography style. On German Wiki there are around 2,500 books in the template library. The problem is that I am not expert enough to get Template:BibISBN to function properly; not helped by the fact that the German version is now more complicated. So I guess there are 2 questions: first, is the idea useful enough to get some (ideally German-speaking) template experts to make it work? Second, is it then also a useful translator's tool which saves the hassle of repeatedly copying out the references? Personally, I'm content to just cut and paste the displayed text when I translate articles in future, so I'm not fussed if they're deleted. --Bermicourt (talk) 20:02, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

More drafts from AFD

[edit]

Thank you for all the help you have given me so far on finding sources. Most of the articles I have asked you to look at so far were ones that I have had an eye on getting back into mainspace in the not-too-distant future, but no luck so far. Since those all went to AFD, I am more hesitant to move them myself, so I am just adding whatever sources I can find and hoping that sooner or later it will be enough. I have five more articles that did not survive AFD, and I am less hopeful on their speedy return, but I figure it is still good to see what can be found now because that will help with their ultimate future viability.  :) I am not expecting much, but see what you can do for these:

Thanks in advance! BOZ (talk) 20:40, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You might not find much for these - or maybe really nothing for any of them - but if you don't mind checking I would appreciate that. :) BOZ (talk) 01:37, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jess Heinig

[edit]

Hey, thanks for all of your help so far, I appreciate it! Progress is progress – less work that I have to do later.  ;) So far I have mostly been asking about articles that did not make it through AFD, and have been in Draft space for a while now. I am done with those for now!

Now I would like to move on to several that I have in Draft space but which did not go to AFD. These all came from various places: PROD or speedy, article redirected, or abandoned draft of another user. I view these as having a lower bar to inclusion than articles that did not make it through AFD; get a few sources on there, move it back into article space, and if someone wants to put it up at AFD then we will see what happens.

So, if you want to hang with me on this a little while longer, could you take a look and see if you can find anything for Draft:Jess Heinig? It was speedy deleted several years ago but I managed to find one good source for him, so it just needs another good source or two and I can move it back. Steven Belledin

[edit]

I moved this article to Draft:Steven Belledin last year after a PROD was added to the article. I figured it would just be easier to draft it thank risk it being deleted, even though a couple of sources were added. If you could find another source or two, that would probably be enough to move it back. :) BOZ (talk) 00:37, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your speedy delete nominations

[edit]

Hi there,

I have been looking at your speedy delete nominations and declining or changing most of them. Users are allowed to have tests in their userspace. Also pages that are just the default wizard text can be nominated with G6 if the user has been inactive for a year. Just because the user wants to promote something does not make the page a candidate for db-spam. It must actually be written in a style that is advertising, and must not be easily converted to a neutral writing (say by deleting 80% of the text). I suggest you read Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion carefully. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:43, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Troy Christensen

[edit]

Thanks for the interview for T. S. Luikart; since that was deleted by PROD rather than AFD, I moved it back into article space. If it is put up for AFD at some point, I can always have it put back into Draft space to work on it more.

Meanwhile, is there anything you can find for Draft:Troy Christensen? I don't know if that one needs a whole lot more sources. BOZ (talk) 22:48, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:Nintendo World Championships finalists

[edit]

I'm no expert in Wikipedia policies, but it seems this template was marked for speedy deletion because it is "a blatant misrepresentation of established policy". I don't see how it discusses policy in any way. Can you clarify what's going on here before I contest it? --TaviRider (talk) 04:15, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@TaviRider: In my opinion, it looked more like an article than a template. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 18:01, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@MrLinkinPark333: As I understand it, it was pulled out of the main article and protected because it was a very frequent target of vandalism. --TaviRider (talk) 04:27, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
