Hi. No need to welcome me to Wikipedia. I have been a contributor since February 2006. I appreciate your comments and I won't be trying to add back content or doing any more on the S. H. Ervin article. However, it seems odd that you edited out "in Europe" from the section "After he left school, Ervin worked in woollen mills in Europe to gain experience in the wool industry,". One cannot copyright facts so it seems odd that you chose to delete "in Europe." You might as well have deleted the entire section. As stated at https://www.newmediarights.org/business_models/artist/are_facts_copyrighted, "Are facts copyrighted? No. Generally, facts and utilitarian language can’t receive copyright protection. Facts about the natural world or current and past events may be discovered, but that discovery isn’t an act of authorship that the law deems worthy enough to protect. This means that even if someone spends a lot of time and mental energy discovering a fact, you can still copy that fact and use it in your own work in any way you want without issue. For example, the discoverer of an uncharted island didn’t actually conjure the location of that island through an act of original creation, so the island doesn’t meet the originality or fixation requirements. Copyright laws were originally enacted for the benefit of the general public. If anyone could just take temporary ownership of facts about the world, pretty soon people couldn’t discuss any current event without receiving a cease-and-desist letter in the mail." Collywolly (talk) 23:23, 25 January 2020 (UTC)

Collywolly, Hmm... I saw the edit flagged and some parts were an acceptable close paraphrase, and some were not (report). Upon review, I agree that "In Europe" is a basic fact, and have re added it. 💴Money💶💵emoji💷Talk💸Help out at CCI! 12:26, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

Query

I would be grateful if you would tell me why you removed rather crucial bits of the political bio of Ernie Jedd. Thanks. 2A00:23C4:B63A:1800:4142:7819:4D9A:E6E3 (talk) 19:41, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

The content was seemingly copied from [1], making it a copyright violation. It was flagged as a possible copyright violation, so I removed it. 💴Money💶💵emoji💷Talk💸Help out at CCI! 01:42, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

I got you message yesterday. I'm just letting you know that I had to add his bio to the List of Marvel Comics characters: S page in light of @Namenamenamenamename: doing some mass merger to the Imperial Guard page some months earlier and the recent deletions of the Imperial Guard page and it's membership page. We had to put the info somewhere on this website. --Rtkat3 (talk) 16:07, 31 January 2020 (UTC)

Copied text

Question; is this necessary when I am the original author? Dapi89 (talk) 18:27, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

Dapi89, No, per WP:NOATT; "If the re-user is the sole contributor of the text at the other page, attribution is not necessary". Sorry for the inconvenience; The edit was flagged at copy patrol, and I saw it was copied from Adlertag; I've never seen someone copy something else they had written before. 💴Money💶💵emoji💷Talk💸Help out at CCI! 18:46, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
I'm a great deal more lazy than most then. Dapi89 (talk) 20:47, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
I think the opposite, since it still shows you put the work in. 💴Money💶💵emoji💷Talk💸Help out at CCI! 20:56, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

Talk: School violence

Hello Money emoji, Thank you for your feedback on the wiki article School violence. Would you mind helping me regarding the copyright, since I had referenced the added content with the following UNESCO publication: "Behind the numbers: ending school violence and bullying" (https://unesdoc.unesco.org/ark:/48223/pf0000366483)

Thank you once again and would appreciate the specific mistake, since I would like to add relevant content from this publication. Besalgado (talk) 18:23, 10 February 2020 (UTC) 18:22, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

Besalgado, Totally my fault; the edit was flagged as a possible copyright violation of [2], and I reverted it after some deliberation; I wasn't able to access the pdf, so I wasn't able to see the CC SA 3.0 license, which allowed it to be copied. I though some sort of mistake had been made where you copied from the wrong source instead of the free to cop Unesco website; now that I can access the actual pdf, I see I was wrong. I have reverted my edit and my warning, and apologize for the hassle. 💵Money💵emoji💵Talk💸Help out at CCI! 21:44, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

RfA

I am so glad to see your RfA. Good luck. On a side note, I am wondering how you would cope up with all these responsibilities without superhuman abilities ;) --DBigXray 20:27, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

It's not too hard; hopefully, I'll have to keep track of less if the rfa is successful. 💵Money💵emoji💵Talk💸Help out at CCI! 22:32, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diligence
I meant to drop this on your talk page a while back, but I ended up taking an extended break from the wiki for a while. At any rate, this is for your excellent and tireless work with WP:CCI, especially in your handling of Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Dr. Blofeld CCI cleanup. I hope that other editors learn from your example in diplomacy and assuming good faith with other contributors, and should you become an admin, there's no doubt in my mind that you're gonna be successful. OhKayeSierra (talk) 03:08, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
@OhKayeSierra: Thank you, this is very much appreciated. I've come along way since when we first interacted, when I was a lowly anti-vandal. 💵Money💵emoji💵Talk💸Help out at CCI! 12:11, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
I remember that well. That LTA seriously had an axe to grind for no apparent reason. Months later after your SPI report, he was still going at it! As a matter of fact, if I remember correctly, I noticed your report only because I reported a suspected sock a week prior, and had the page watchlisted (as I do for anything else I edit). I was more concerned that a warning like that would make him switch things up and make the CU work twice as hard. Haha OhKayeSierra (talk) 14:00, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
P.S. Best of luck in your RFA! OhKayeSierra (talk) 14:03, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
I thought I'd come say thank you for both for your general high level of performance, but the sheer dedication to run to RfA as a means of driving more traffic to the CCI page - shows the rest of us as slackers! ;) Nosebagbear (talk) 14:13, 12 February 2020 (UTC)

Going forward

Hello, Money emoji! No matter how your RfA turns out, I do hope you continue the thankless tasks over at CCI. They are appreciated. Rgrds. --Bison X (talk) 05:22, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

On second thought, I didn't mean to imply it would not pass, I meant that you shouldn't let the opposes (including mine) bother you. Rgrds. --Bison X (talk) 05:23, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words, Bison X. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. Money emoji💵Talk💸Help out at CCI! 16:02, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

Good Luck

I'm really rooting for you! Your work in CCI is excellent, and regardless of the outcome, I hope you don't ever stop there. I honestly think some of the opposition is unfair, but it is what it is. Best of luck!

P.S. Let me just say I saw your contributions to the articles of songs from Astroworld. I'm actually a HUGE fucking Travis Scott fan, and I got so excited when I saw that.

Articles

Hey Money - I can't say I envy you going through a crat chat following that RfA, but good on you for keeping a positive attitude in the comments above. I'm just dropping by to offer assistance/collaboration/pointers, should you need/want them, when you're creating new content. I imagine that there are some parallels between my primary area of activity (CV) and yours (CCI) - time-consuming, repetitive and largely thankless tasks, but vitally important for maintaining the project. I like to come up for air regularly and write an article, and always find the content creation space much more pleasurable to work in. So, if you fancy working on something together, let me know - you can suggest a subject, or I could suggest one. (Warning - it will be an historic building in Scotland - I have a big backlog of them to work through, but they're not going anywhere so there's no rush!) Or, if you don't fancy collaborating on something, but ever want to reach out for a second opinion - just drop me a note, I'd be delighted to help out any way I can. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 19:27, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

Girth Summit, Oh, thank you very much! I'd happily collaborate with you in the future; as for the crat chat, eh, it's not too bad. I wouldn't half mind it being no consensus, since that'll give me a better excuse to write more stuff. Money emoji💵Talk💸Help out at CCI! 19:57, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
How serendipitous. I drop by to wish you luck and enquire if you fancy an article collaboration in order to tick that off, and Girth is here already. If rather than an obscure Scottish building you fancy an obscure military conflict or person then give me a ping.
PS I also do copy editing. Gog the Mild (talk) 19:37, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

Hang in there

I know this must suck. Do your best to ignore it as much as you can, maybe find something else to distract yourself for the next day or so. --valereee (talk) 15:37, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Valereee. I'm actually doing pretty well right now; the stressful part was the actual rfa, and I honestly don't care too much about the 'crats verdict; if I get it, yay, if I don't, I can just run again in a few months with a few more articles under my belt (working on Pen & Pixel right now!) and win easily. Money emoji💵Talk💸Help out at CCI! 16:01, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
I am known for being particularly grumpy, but I read the above remark as just ever so slightly overly cocky (in my opinion ... others will think differently) and it just ever so slighty risks losing votes on a re-run. Obviously I hope you make it and this time as you just got my !vote and this is from someone who is known from getting into the odd scrape and is not entitled to preach .... and you are indeed a breath of fresh air ! Djm-leighpark (talk) 06:31, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
If you don't get it this time, you'd definitely smash it on a re-run! Nosebagbear (talk) 18:04, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
+1 to the above! You'll do great! (But do still take the advice of the opposers) Puddleglum 2.0 02:15, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

That was unfortunate. I'm sure you'll make it next time, and thanks for everything you do around here. All the best, SarahSV (talk) 00:07, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

This was the closest to the border RfA I saw, since I started seeing RfAs. Even the crats agreed that it was a very close call. ME you did well. Hope we will see a re run whenever you are ready. DBigXray 18:23, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi! I'm Train of Knowledge. Thank you for removing copyright violations on the page Draft:Shorash baker, but I would just like to let you know that you forgot to warn the user that he was violating copyright. The next time you remove copyrighted content, please warn the user with the uw-copyright template in order to remind them that Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and if they continue they will be blocked from editing. Don't fret, I have warned the user on copyright for you! Thanks. Train of Knowledge (Talk|Contribs) 07:13, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

Train of Knowledge, I thought the speedy delete notice for copyright was enough, but I guess template:Uw-copyright-new could be used in lieu of it, as I think it is better worded. Money emoji💵Talk💸Help out at CCI! 11:15, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

Please can you revert the removal of the contents of 'Winifred, countess of dundonald' please? You are very welcome Money. I must add that it is a rare occasion, indeed, that the renowned Editor of the Week award is "second fiddle" to an even more prestigious announcement. You were nominated for the Award back in mid January and added to the EotW Queue at that time.
