Thanks for mentioning it, Phoenix7777. It's been a while since I have dealt with a user like this. I have done what you requested, but my understanding is that WP:3RR is excused in the case of vandalism. While this may not have initially been intentional vandalism, the user repeatedly included false and misrepresented information even after I showed that it was false and asked for a discussion on the talk page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. Kurogane kanji edits

Hello, thank you for reviewing the kanji and making corrections; as you might have guessed, I am using Google Translate and the recommendations may not be entirely accurate. I plan to translate more from Kurogane and their present company name articles on JW and place on EW, including the Kurogane Baby. • Feel free to contact me. I was trying to check on some of the kanji, but was not always successful. For instance, I don't see how 秀工舎 could be read "Hidenko" unless it was a nickname (it should be read Hide Kōsha or Shūkōsha). Also, while 黒金 is one rendering of kurogane, 鉄 is more common. And it seems the company didn't use the kanji and instead used the hiragana くろがね. There are still a number of things that need checking in that article. Hello, and thanks for the kanji proofreading assistance. This is from the JW article for Kurogane's previous name, Japan Internal Combustion Engine Company starting in 1917.

• Kurogane clean-up

Thanks for your edits; didn't realize "kurogane" means "iron", which is dark or black metal. From the stub articles on JW, it seems logical for the purpose of information consolidation to combine the former contributing companies into Kurogane, while leaving links to JW in the EW article, and I'm guessing most English readers will appreciate everything being combined into one page instead of stub articles to matching JW entries. I have suggested on JW for a merge for Japan Internal Combustion Co. into Kurogane, but it was reverted. There is also a lot of information for JW Ohta Jidosha that could be added to the EW article; found information that shows Ohta contributed to Prince Motor Company which was also eventually merged into Nissan. I had no idea Nissan had such a history of mergers and acquisitions, which is what Wikipedia is all about. Thanks!(Regushee (talk) 02:57, 25 December 2016 (UTC))

Actually, selling sex to foreigners wouldn't disqualify them from having an article here. "Wikipedia is not censored" is not 100% accurate - we won't have illustrations of child porn (so far as I know, not having looked - I think the WMF legal department would quickly step in there and take an 'office action'), for one thing - but if a business like this is notable there's no reason I can see for not having an article (other than promo or copyvio). This one was promo, and I added A7 lack of significance too. There are articles about some well known brothels in the USA past and present (List of brothels in Nevada for some current ones, but don't ask me for others...) and probably other places too. I figured that wasn't necessarily the case, but since this is an active club that may (or may not) be involved in activities against Japanese law, I wonder if there could be repercussions for essentially promoting it. Escort services are generally not illegal (except in the more religiously based nations). There can be problems with nannying software - I had great difficulty once on a school network trying to get info on a Ford Escort (car) - but not usually with the law. I would think that the mention in a reference of 'love hotels', and the 'escorting' not being done on company premises, means it's legal. (Technically and officially, the girl is there to stop a person being on their own in a strange place. Whatever methods she uses to make him feel not alone are up to them.) こんにちは。Days for archaeologyと申します。Tondabayashi Jinaimachiの編集について、一点確認させてください。英語ですと上手く説明できないと思いますので、日本語で失礼いたします。

冒頭文の"It is one of the Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings in Tondabayashi-shi Tondabayashi (富田林市富田林重要伝統的建造物群保存地区)."の箇所ですが、「in Tondabayashi-shi Tondabayashi」とした理由を教えて下さい。

私は「富田林市富田林として(as Tondabayashi-shi Tondabayashi)」としました。これは、富田林市富田林重要伝統的建造物群保存地区という名称は、他の伝建地区の表記に合わせたものだと考えているからです。

本文に書きましたように、現在の富田林市に富田林という行政界は存在しません。北西部は、かつて富田林村(一里山町・会所町・富山町の一部)でしたが、現在は本町に属します。また、伝建地区は一部で土居の下まで含んでいるため、南西部の亀が坂と向田坂に挟まれた部分は、現在は富田林町に属しますが、かつては毛人谷村もしくは向田村の一部でしたので富田林村(西林町)には含まれていません。

メッセージありがとうございます。日本語はできますが、英語で書いた方が早いですので、英語で返事させていただきます。First, "as Tondabyashi-shi Tondabayashi" is grammatically incorrect in this sentence. If you want to preserve the meaning "として", "as" does not work here. You have to make it something like "It is one of the Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings in the Place Known as Tondabayashi-shi Tondabayashi (富田林市富田林重要伝統的建造物群保存地区)." Also, my original edit did not only change this but made other important edits such as inserting spaces before parentheses (not including a space is a mistake many Japanese make). Kinema Junpo

Hello! I saw you had participated in editing the page for Kinema Junpo, and I was wondering if you know of any way to access old articles from the magazine? I have been trying to improve some of the articles on Japaneses cyberpunk films, and it would be really helpful to have some critical reviews from the year that the films came out. For example, I'm working on Burst City right now, and I can see here that there are multiple articles from 1982. The big problem is that I don't know any Japanese, so I have been using Google Translate which only gets me so far. If you have any tips, let me know! Glad to hear you've been working on those articles, but I am afraid there is not much you can do other than just getting the magazine at a library, scanning it with OCR, and trying to use Google translate. I am not aware where A Page of Madness was shot. I merely added the Tokyo category because the production section covers its screening there: "The famous benshi Musei Tokugawa narrated the film at the Musashinokan theater in Shinjuku in Tokyo." Dimadick (talk) 18:34, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for the explanation, but by that logic, any film made in Japan in the 1920s could fit in that category because every film showed in Tokyo.
