Hello Mr. Nolan. I noticed you have been adding some citations to articles where they have been requested. That is great news! Many of your sources are solid: book-based or reputable news outlets. Others are not so much: IMDb is not a RS for biographical information (see WP:RS/IMDb). Also, "madmonarchs.guusbeltman.nl" appears to be run by one guy, and has no "reputation for fact-checking or editorial oversight" per WP:RS. Hernán Cortés

Why the addition of "see also"s? You added Cuernavaca, Morelos, Palace of Cortés, Tenochtilán. I can see maybe adding the last (he did conquer and destroy that city - but it's already linked in the text referencing that), but the first three? He happened to live in Cuernavaca, Morelos for a while. That doesn't mean we need a "See also" entry for those locations. That's like saying an article about GW Bush needs a "see also" for Texas, which is pretty absurd.

A "See Also" section should be articles which have notable chunks of information on the subject of this article, not already covered in this article. Not simply be a laundry list of things the article subject touched on. Tarl N. (discuss) 05:03, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

I would say he didn't simply live in Cuernavaca for a while--it was the center of his operation after he was turned down for Viceroy. He built two haciendas in the city (including the first sugar mill in Nueva Espana), what is said to be the first church on the continent, and the first civil building (Palace of Cortes) in Nueva Espana--which is where his wife lived and his legitimate children were born and lived until adulthood.

Battles in Cuauhnahuac (Cuernavaca) and Huaxtepex (Oaxtepec), both in Morelos, were key to the conquest of Tenochtitlan.

Since Tenochtitlan is referenced elsewhere, I'll remove it from the "See also" list; I'll also remove the Cuernavaca and Morelos references since they I can see your point about things that are touched upon in the article. However, the palace does seem to be important to the story of Cortes, and the article gives a fairly extensive description of why, when, and how it was built.Michael E Nolan (talk) 05:46, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Michael E Nolan

The Wikipedia article on John Steinbeck is on my watchlist, so I noticed your recent edits. Since you have further edited the ariticle, I am sure you have noticed mine. You are an enthuastic and productive Wikipedia editor; I hope you will enjoy your time here.

I left a summary for each recent edit I made. Perhaps I should explain further. Reliable sources are the most important aspect of a Wikipedia article. John Steinbeck is an important American author and a Nobel Laureate for Literature. Scholarly Biographies exist. These should be the first sources to check. Scholarly journals are also reliable sources. Please read the Wikipedia policy on verifiability and the guideline on reliable sources. Newspaper and television reports can also be reliable sources, as long as the organizations have a reputation for rigorous fact-checking. Blogs, unless by a recognized subject expert are not reliable sources; neither are student study guides.

Once a reliable source is found, use the Wikipedia guidelne WP:Citing sources for the proper way to build an in-line citation. There are several systems of citation in use in Wikipeda; each is equally valid, but the style should be consistent within an article.

BTW, it would be better to rewrite that section of your article; the wording appears to be a direct WP:COPYPASTE of the google translated version of this one, and that could get your article deleted; Wikipedia is very strict about copyvio, and it extends to translated versions too.
