Central Theatre Title
Hello Mcgeddon,
First off I want to thank you for helping organise my first article Central Theatre (Passaic). However, I wanted to ask if you could please rename my article to the way it was. I titled the article Central Theatre (Passaic), because the other central theatres'Jasonritter7 (talk) 23:51, 6 May 2016 (UTC) listed have their city of location in parentheses. The page is now harder to find if you are searching for a page on the specific one. If you could please change the article title back to "Central Theatre (Passaic)".
Thanks, Jason
Hi McGeddon, Thanks for correcting me. I found that page empty and I did not deeply review about the page name. I thought, they are not notable to being on Wikipedia. I will assure you, I will surely take care this in future. Thank you so much. Kate A. Steel (talk) 13:49, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
User Bromley86
Hi, I write to you this message because I'm discussing in Iran talk page, where Bromley86 removes related references regardless of discussion page. This user also has denied several references that I offered in discussion to achieve his purposes regardless of my explanations . If you're an admin in wikipedia, please prevent such behaviours. Thanks Aidepikiwnirotide (talk) 11:13, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
I'd also welcome your input. I'd also suggest that it is Aidepikiwnirotide who is refusing to discuss, but then I would. If you do want to get involved, the section is Talk:Iran#AKA_Persia_refs. The 4 old references are dealt with there (these are the ones that I initially removed), and a new one that Aidepikiwnirotide has added is mentioned in the Talk:Iran#Name_order (search for "I wonder why you think that there is no justification!" to see the discussion and the book link). Cheers, Bromley86 (talk) 11:51, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Aidepikiwnirotide and Bromley86:: it looks like you've formally raised this at WP:3O, since, which was the best thing to do - I'll leave it for an entirely uninvolved editor to drop by the talk page. --McGeddon (talk) 17:24, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

Venice edit
Hi McGeddon, while I can understand that the entry about the shop could be viewed as promotional even if it was about a very local home-brew brand that is branching worldwide I don't understand the edit about Tiramisù especially because only few lines above Prosecco is listed as a venetian wine while is from an area north of Treviso. If you come to Venice you will find that Tiramisù is the most popular between the local sweet regardless the fact of its origins in Treviso. Emanuele Dal Carlo 15:28, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
Hi again and thank you for your quick feedback. Do you Think that a shorter sentence, few words, about the shop could be considered not promotional given the fact the place has really become a must visit place for most tourists? Ah, your argument concerning the Churchill Award is about their notability, not about the factuality of whether Gormley received one or not, therefore your deletion of the information based on a primary sources argument really doesn't fly. If you're not questioning the factuality of the information, it doesn't matter that it came from a primary source (which are not disallowed, by the way, see WP:Primary). I'm not sure why you're so hot about this: if your AfD goes through, and the Churchill Awards is deleted, then you're not going to get any argument from me about deleting it, so why not just wait to see what happens? Dear McGeddon, of cause, I'm one from hundreds of guides who provide FWT in this world. And it's logical, that a guide or organizer writes this article, because we know this "kitchen" from inside. What is your meaning according to the examples? Is it better without examples? I've tried to broad variety of them to avoid any advertising. The same rule exists for films made in Germany: you can show car brands, but always different (so diverse as possible). regards, asgorbunov — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asgorbunov (talk • contribs) 13:21, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

i did not try to remove anything. You did the right one.
Dear McGeddon i did not try to remove any part of "book burning" article. instead, i just copied some part of your good article on book burning to write a new article on the subject which was not in my language MALAYALAM (Kerala, India. We in Kerala are greatly interested in such articles like "book burning" as we read books more than citizens of any developed countries, (i am sure). Here also, we recently faced such an incident in our state, Kerala. Some miscreants burned a library in the North of our state. That library had only 5000 books before burning. but the people here rebuild that library and sent as many books as they could and now it has more than 6000 new books.
I have just tried to translate your article and included somemore information in my MALAYALAM article. No changes made consously in the English article. I think by mistake some of the parts of that article deleted. i'm very much glad to know that you restore it well. I'll be cautious in future when if i take anything from other articles. Thanks a lot Appreciate your efforts once again good wishes.Ramjchandran (talk) 14:36, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Discussing the "Proposed Removal" on V E N T U S (Producer page)
Dear McGeddon,
I find your request for removal to be unjust. For an article which is under development, I believe it is fair for it to lack extensive content. Consider the article was started less than 24 hours ago, along with the nature of the individual which is being spoken of, your request seems unfair, unsolicited for, and helpless. Understand most artist of the same nature rely heavily on their social media engagement and performance showcases - content which is difficult to deliver, source, and present in the same means as, for example, a historical event or book. As the creator of this page, I would encourage you to suggest possible ways to improve the article, while keeping in mind the nature of such artist, with a brief history (2 years). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sebastian.ives (talk • contribs) 22:03, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Ailles rectangle
Hello.
Definitely the article titled Ailles rectangle needed an illustration.
I wonder if you can adjust it a bit? The minus sign looks like a hyphen instead of a minus sign.

McGeddon, just to answer your question about why I removed the IMDB source in Peter Wyngarde's article, it looked like | this when I first saw it, and yes it does say Guardian, but within the link itself, it links to IMDB.CO.UK. With your edit, it's now pointing to the Guardian's website , so now it's fixed. Thank you ! KoshVorlon 16:37, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Just a reminder that in just over a week at Wikimania there's going to be a cross-Wiki discussion about the systems of control of new pages. This is a round-table rather than a presentation or a lecture. On the agenda are reforms to the new article reviewing systems and ways to help new users better understand our content policies. Hi McGeddon, I am the original uploader of File:Dat Boi Frog.gif used on Dat Boi. It was speedy tagged by you as you found it had an incorrect fair-use rationale, which I apologize for. I have not uploaded many images to WP and would like some help figuring out how to write a fair-use rationale for the particular image. Alien (creature in Alien franchise) page
Hi McGeddon – like many on here, I'm new to editing Wikipedia, so I appreciate the input. Also, apologies, if I've posted this in the wrong section, but I could not fine a means of messaging. The reference on the Alien page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_(creature_in_Alien_franchise), wherein I added that the use of 'xenomorph' is erroneous, relates to content within the page itself. Under the 'Naming' section, there is information citing how it came it to being as a popular misconception. Therefore the page is currently at odds with itself and requires some clarity. As the only other editor I see who made a substantive addition to The Creature's Cookbook, and as the editor who nominated it for deletion, do you have any objection to a G7 speedy since Kristina Meister blanked the page? —C.Fred (talk) 20:55, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
I blanked the page because we would rather it be deleted than continue to have incorrect information added by someone who, for some reason, has seen fit to take issue with one report on the fictional plot of a book and the identity of its reclusive author. The previous editor cited an incorrect blog post that named me as the author. I am the editor. But the author no longer wishes to have their work posted online. Please delete it, rather than continuing to argue. --Kristina Meister (talk) 21:20, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
About Avicenna's Nationality
Hi there
I recently added the information to Avicenna's wiki site that he may also have a Turkic or Turkish origin. In the page of Avicenna i read that one hundred percent certain that he is Persian. But he was born in Uzbekistan's Buhara city which also have been one of the biggest home for Turks. Also in Turkey people being taught that he is certainly a Turk.He maybe Turk or Persian ,there is no detailed and exact researches about it.So giving info about his nation may teach people inaccurate things. So rather than deleting Persian info i decided to add or Turkish info.I will also add a part from his biography which is certified, and showing that Avicenna had been living under Turkish control at the past.
If the fortunes of the Samanid rulers had taken a turn for the better, ibn Sina's life would have been very different. Nuh ibn Mansur, in an attempt to keep in power, had put Sebüktigin, a former Turkish slave, as the ruler of Ghazna and appointed his son Mahmud as governor of Khorasan. However the Turkish Qarakhanids, already in control of most of Transoxania, joined with Mahmud and moved to depose the Samanids. After gaining Khorasan they took Bukhara in 999. There followed a period of five years in which the Samanids tried to regain control but their period of power was over. As recounted in [2]:-
Destiny had plunged [ibn Sina] into one of the tumultuous periods of Iranian history, when new Turkish elements were replacing Iranian domination in Central Asia and local Iranian dynasties were trying to gain political independence from the 'Abbasid caliphate in Baghdad (in modern Iraq).
Thanks,Hope to get the interest about this topic from you... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arslanduha (talk • contribs) 23:26, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
Deletion of Brief Biography Duilio Agostini
I always wondered why the Brief Biography that I inserted for Duilio Agostini (in English) was deleted but I never really looked seriously at the issue.

On reflection I think your deletion without an email or a Talk message to be rather high handed
For your information the site quoted (in the no longer valid link) and the page involved was also my work as I was responsible for making that entry on the company web site shortly shortly after the death of my wife's father, Duilio Agostini. It never occurred to me that using text that I had written could not be re-used also on Wikipedia.
I and my wife have now recently created a new entry based on the Italian version. The Race Record, by the way, is also taken from my personal web site. I trust that that will not be deleted!! Gambalunga (talk) 14:34, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

As I am an avid user of MyWOT, I want to edit the article content as it is wrong currently. It is not just an addon actually it is a service where user searches in the website and gets result. So it is a service which has also an addon. I have written what to edit but as I am knew to wikipedia and I read lots of rules and how to edit in wiki, I decided to contact you 1st as you have edited the article title and see what are your suggestions who should I edit. Like I would like to submit my suggestion in a way so editors will check it and then approve. Reason I want like that is because I want to give right information which is by wikipedia guidelines and I am very poor at at wikipedia eve-though I read so much, just i am not confident as I dont have experience here. I see that I can submit in talk page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:WOT_(browser_add-on) but I have made so much edits, have no idea how to add in talk page so you will check it. I am making changes on the page itself but I wont make all changes, just have a a look when you have time and tell me if my edits tell about MyWOT/WOT Web of Trust as a service or not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SEOna b (talk • contribs) 11:50, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
An eye perhaps
Hi, wonder if you want to keep an eye on Erand Hoxha. It's an article on a footballer, but an IP is persistently trying to turn it into an article on the actor. I initially thought it was simply a clueless editor who didn't know how to create an article, but then came across the history of the articles on the actor which leads me to think it's part of the same concerted campaign. It's been protected for a week but I suspect that isn't going to be enough. There's someone else watching it but with your I think greater experience with articles on the actor, it may be easier for you to explain the need for longer term protection as I unfortunately suspect will be needed. There has to be a compromise to this. I accept that there is no viable source for this addition but that explanation is very much part of the zeitgeist and there for should have some sort of mention in the article. I have suggested different wordings but you offer no feed back. Its extremely unhelpful. I would also like to add that your only source for the "Wife beater" element of this article is a news story about someone trying to remove that reference from Wikipedia. Therefor it becomes self fulfilling. How is that allowed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.17.149.18 (talk) 10:38, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello McGeddon. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. It's only a suggestion that you wait 10 minutes before tagging for deletion. I agree with the article you tagged was non-notable, but it was created by a newbie. I read your comment on my talk page. Part of A3 is a repeating of the article title, which is basically what this page is.
This applies to articles (other than disambiguation pages, redirects, or soft redirects to Wikimedia sister projects) consisting only of external links, category tags and "See also" sections, a rephrasing of the title, attempts to correspond with the person or group named by its title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, chat-like comments, template tags, and/or images. RE: Shadow People
Any stimulant that, when used in excess will cause the appearance of 'shadow people' molecularly methylamphetamine is just a long acting amphetamine and thus users are more likely to suffer the effects of experiencing hallucinations such as shadow people. An excellent Harm-reduction based forum would be bluelight which gives excellent information on shadow people (http://www.bluelight.org/vb/archive/index.php/t-586543.html), it may not be a news article, however I would trust the experiences of people on there over the news articles linked in the page. Therefore I request you revert the change. Shadow people are likely hypnagogic hallucinations (as opioid users during very high dose usage also report the same phenomena though anecdotal experiences are all I can give), though they claim it is more confusing (for example sitting on a chair and talking to friends who simply aren't there only to snap out of it as their dose wears off) stimulant drugs such as amphetamine, methylamphetamine (meth), MDPV even cocaine (to a lesser degree) essentially any dopiminergic stimulant that will cause lack of sleep and 'model schizophrenia', shadow people are not just a side effect of methyl/methamphetamine use (As far as pharmacology goes all of these drugs do the same as meth in the brain, with some increasing concentrations of noradrenaline in the brain more and thus increasing paranoid delusions) I urge you to look at the pharmacology and how these substances affect the brain and consider changing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.97.44.206 (talk) 00:42, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Casper the octopus
Hi McGeddon, Concerning your removal of the section mentioning that a deep-see octopus was nick-named after the film *character* I have some questions:
First you mention that the octopus was nicknamed after the character. You are absolutely right. However, by the Casper disambiguation, I did not find a lemma in english wikipedia referencing the *character* itself.
- I meanwhile found the reference in the header of the Casper (film) lemma. Sorry for overseeing this.
- Do you think a note there might make sense? Please refere to the arguments below. Thank you. ErnstS — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ernsts (talk • contribs) 14:40, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Would you like to create one?
Anyway, although this might be 'extremely minor' as you mentioned, how could we give this octopus an existence in Wikipedia? I. e. as long as there is no scientific name for it?
Or do you really think any biota *must not* be subject of wikipedia as long as there is no scientific name for it? Although it has very evidence: it *lives*! And there is WWW docu about it (please refer also to [2])!
BTW, anyway please check the Casper disambiguation to provide the correct reference to Casper (octopus) or just none (just for consistency)!
And nevermind the critics!

Removed link from Escape room
Hello,
Thanks for the quick reply on the change that I've made on Escape game. You've removed the link Roomescape.com because it seemed a local site to you. The site uses the location of the users and dispalys the lis of games in their country. You can switch to another country at the bottom of the page as well. So please think over to let this link appear.

Steorn
Hello McGeddon - thanks for the explanation for your undo - my reason for the edit on steorn without citation was that in this case this is a "negative" which cannot be proved - i.e. there is no source which says anyone _has_ received a working perpetual motion machine (which is the product claimed by steorn), not that there is a citation that says for certain _no one_ has.
Until there is a citation that steorn has produced a working device ( which would be a worldwide news event anyway ) I think describing the announcement of a product ( over a year ago ) without producing a product is only half the story - maybe the whole reference to this product is better removed?
Steorn makes extra ordinary claims for their inventions and these require extraordinary proof, none of which are ever forthcoming ( Ive followed them for years) I felt it was an important point in the summary that no working product has ever been produced by them which demonstrates their claimed behaviour.
However regarding citation http://dispatchesfromthefuture.com/ has been following their story.
cheers

Panjandrum is a person, not a bomb
McGeddon, are you telling me that until someone creates another Wikipedia article -- this new one about "panjandrum" meaning "a self-important or pretentious person" -- Wikipedia should, misleadingly, have no reference to the much more common meaning, at all?? You removed my added link
I recently updated a dead link on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi. The title of that dead link was "What is the true meaning of WiFi". So I supposed that this page may have discussed the meaning of the word 'WiFi'. Since I have also discussed wifi standard and its meanings on one of my blog posts, see this screenshot http://prntscr.com/cjrf33 , I update that URL and included my own http://listenthusiast.com/best-wireless-routers-2016/. Want to help test advanced new tools planned for Recent Changes?
Hi McGeddon! I’m reaching out to you because our logs tell us you’re a very active Twinkle user (top 25, actually!). The WMF Collaboration team is working on new tools that we hope will be useful to people engaged in reviewing recent changes, fighting vandalism or supporting new users. We want to test them for usability with editors who are experienced with relevant wiki work. If you’re interested in helping to shape this new technology—we’d like to hear from you.
The testing should take about an hour, will be conducted online, and will take place during the next few weeks. To participate, please email dchen[at]wikimedia.org with the subject line Twinkle User. Include the following information:
- Username
- Email where we can reach you
- Your city or time zone
- Best time to talk to you
- Your primary use of Twinkle or Recent Changes (e.g., reviewing recent changes, reviewing with a particular focus (specify), anti-vandalism, new-page review, welcoming new users, etc.)
Thanks! Dchen (WMF) (talk) 17:58, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Re: High Society
I did not think adding a source was necessary in this case as I just expanded the pre-existing information to include previously unused additional information from the same source (in other words, I didn't think I needed to add a source since the reference was already there on the page). Additional Material Lists
Not sure how to reply to replies on this Talk thing - "new section" doesn't make sense, but adding a reply in my last post misses what I'm replying to. Anyway, the extra material on the cast of High Society was added for completeness. In many cases you will find uncredited people on the IMDB lists that *are* credited as being in a production in their personal Wikipedia entry but not in the production itself's Wikipedia entry. If editors don't want expanded entries to happen, that's fine (although be aware, as a reference IMDB is exactly as "correct" as Wikipedia - which is they have people reviewing new and edited entries too but can't guarantee everything is valid). You reviewers should also realize there's no consistency whatsoever on the subject of complete or limited cast lists in Wikipedia, with people seemingly doing what they want to do - short lists, long lists, photos of things with nothing to do with the list in the middle of a list, lists that include the plot summary of each particular character as the name appears in the list (see entry for the movie Eat Drink Man Woman for this last) Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhedge12 (talk • contribs) 17:02, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
Moving Torben Sondergaard to The Last Reformation
Hi McGeddon.
The article clearly is about Torben Sondergaard, for example:
- The biographical material is about Torben Sondergaard only
- The beliefs and theology are about Torben Sondergaard only
- The controversies dates earlier than "The last reformation" and are about Torben Sondergaard only
- This articles deals with sources outdating the creation of "The last reformation" by Torben Sondergaard
If you want to write a new article you should do so, but the majority of the content has nothing to do with "The last reformation group" (whoever that is? None of the sources refer to another person). It's pretty clear that "The last reformation" is Torben Sondergaard's personal mninistry and the sources all talk about it as such. Torben Sondergaards name "The last reformation" is a website covering his personal ministry in Denmark which has gone on for a long time. There should probably be a section in this article about it instead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.195.76.179 (talk) 15:55, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review needs your help
Hi McGeddon,
As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).
Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.
Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.
It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

User group: New Page Reviewr
Hello McGeddon.
Based on the patrols you made of new pages during a qualifying period in 2016, your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed.
New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:34, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, McGeddon. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Multiple issues with Sheila Bishop page
Hi McGeddon, The Sheila Bishop page I have been working on has been flagged as a biography of a living person, but she did in fact die on 30 may 2009. Unfortunately, it is difficult for someone else to write the article (who is not related) as I am her daughter and have all the information pertaining to her life. Is there a way to resolve this conflict? TikiFriday (talk) 15:54, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Regarding sources: I have a number of physical publications (magazine/newspaper articles), will scanning those in and providing them as sources satisfy the Wikipedia guidelines? I understand the need for Wikipedia articles to have external sources but when one has to rely on having physical articles that are not able to be referenced through online sources, it gets a little challenging. I hope by providing scanned articles, this will suffice. TikiFriday (talk) 10:18, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Regarding COI edits: From what I can understand, Wikipedia would rather an article/page not exist than be edited by someone with a COI. I do understand the need for unbiased articles and edits but in this case I am the sole person that can do this page - I have all the physical notes about the person in question, along with physical articles and publications that can be used as sources. In this case, I merely want to create a page that allows people to look up Sheila Bishop (Author) and find some information about her. I have no interest in garnishing her history, I merely wish to give valid historical information about her life and her writing. Through the external links, it is very clear that there is an audience who would be potentially interested in the subject matter. As of yet, no-one had created a page for her so I thought my position as it is, holding a large collection of historical information about her would put me in a good position to write a page. Again, I am aware of the need for unbiased edits, and I am intent on doing so! Please help me to resolve this as I do not wish the page to be deleted if at all possible! TikiFriday (talk) 10:29, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
RE: Access Level
I believe the discussion of local variables and access levels are sufficiently distinct (from a contextual perspective) to warrant separate articles. With regards to scope, which is contextually similar, I would consider access level to be a subset. Therefore, it may be enough reason to integrate this article as a subheading within scope. However, one major reason contributes to the opposite- scope is a broad and poorly defined term. From the article, scope is defined in ALGOL as "the portion of source code in which a binding of a name with an entity applies". Scope can apply to any type of bindings, such as functions, methods, variables, and can even be a function itself. However, access level is used only to refer to one concept- the extent to which external modifications are allowed on a variable.
The scope article does not clearly focus on defining access level, which in particular makes it difficult to follow from an introductory perspective. This may be in part due to a need for some rewriting in that article, but overall I believe it serves its purpose, using relatively broad strokes for a broad conceptual topic. From your perspective, would it serve better to increase the length of the scope article, allowing for specificity with regards to access levels; or to keep both articles, despite some overlap?

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.
- Second set of eyes
Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.
- Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

Seasick Steve Page
Hello, can you cleanup the picture I uploaded on Deadly Gamble I tried to help improve the page. I am new to editing so I'm learning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MovieManNJ84 (talk • contribs) 18:20, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
Hi McGeddon
I was visting the Seasick Steve page and saw on the talk page all the discussion ( sometimes contentious) about the unauthorised biography
that came out in June.
I also saw that you were somewhat active trying to keep the page neutral and within Wikipedia policies.
I do not edit much any more but still enjoy reading Wikipedia.
I was always impressed by your skill within Wikipedia so thought i would ask your opinion.
Though there may be some merit to mention that there was an unauthorised biography, there seems to no be reason to advertise the name of the book or the author. This appears to me to be blatant self advertising in the guise of editing on an internationally know artists Wikipedia page for a book that is currently for sale.
I am not sure of the Wikipedia policy regarding this type of apparent self advertising but thought I would ask you.
I have actually read the book and in my opinion it was very poorly written and just completely full of speculation.
There almost no references. The only source the book relies on with any history, is from the subjects ' estranged son' who certainly seems to have a very big bone to pick and seems all over the place.
Other than that, there is no mention of one person who new Mr. Wold in the 1950's, 60's, 70's, 80's or even the 90's
I personally had hoped that the book actually had some facts and not just wild speculation.
At the very least it does not seem like any kind of reference to base editing the Seasick Steve page on in my opinion.
Thanks for your time. (Aircastle (talk) 16:30, 2 December 2016 (UTC))

Retraction
Thanks for your note on my talk page. In that case, I have no choice, the articles that I've donated to Wikipedia will, sadly, remain. But I am no longer a supporter of Wikipedia. In my view your editors are philistines and bullies. Gallura (talk) 13:42, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
retraction
I wish you were right about that. My contributions have never been appreciated and I have only ever had threats of deletions and rude comments from editors. There is no presumed innocence here. It's guilty until proved innocent. Everybody assumes that one lies or has some nefarious reason for creating a page. It's hard to describe how foolish I feel for the time and effort I've wasted on Wikipedia. Gallura (talk) 13:54, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
Peckham Arch
Hi, thanks for help editing. As you can probably tell I'm very new to this and learning quickly! there is press citation for claims that the proposed blocks were to provide 100 flats and that the proposal now provides only 19, https://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/news/carl-turners-plan-to-demolish-peckham-arch-wins-go-ahead/10014668.article is it possible for you to reinstate the archived version and I will add this article also, if I'm able! Until I saw that SPI history, all I was aware off were a couple of article creations back in 2013/14 and then a gap. But now I've read the history of socking and seen how many differently titled versions of the same article have been created with monotonous regularity, it's clear that this is indeed just the same editor doing the same thing again. So I've pre-empted the SPI results and deleted it as WP:G5. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:51, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

This article may be WP:TNT. See this Google Book. All of the section headings match chapter headings. The chapters aren't available for comparison, but the intro section which is available has been very closely paraphrased. Would value your feedback. I was starting to link and work on a copyedit, but will hold off for now. Many thanks nerdgoonrant (talk) 19:13, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- Haha. Never mind. Still learning the ropes. Your experience shows. nerdgoonrant (talk) 20:15, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, and thanks for the response. Funny how we create narratives for things. I thought that my first message had gone to you after your first edit of Robot Fish, but in fact it was after your last edit. So when I went back and saw all of the changes I interpreted it as someone showing me (rather than telling me) how something that seemed to me to be a TNT candidate could actually be salvaged pretty easily. It was educational, even if unintentionally so. The paraphrasing is still problematic with the intro. I can fix that, as the source is available online. I'll drop the article creator a note about the rest. The grammatically correct bits are most likely the purloined ones. Thanks again nerdgoonrant (talk) 20:36, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Hello McGeddon - just saw your alert regarding my recent edits to Banksy's entry. You are right, it was your opinion that the edit was "less than neutral." But I understand that reasonable minds can disagree. However, instead of deleting the edits altogether, perhaps the essential point of the edit can still be retained, phrased in a less "opinionated," subjective manner. I too would prefer the addition to be as objective and neutral as possible, supported with citations.
Please advise how to do this. I am very new to this WP community.

I'm trying to locate what would be considered acceptable sources for this author's page, but I'm confused because I've seen pages for other authors using similar sources (Internet Speculative Fiction Database, Amazon, etc.). Scarywhitegirl (talk) 21:23, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Radio City 2 Balloon Release
Good morning. This is my first ever interaction on Wikipedia, I hope I am following protocol! Apologies in advance if I have made any mistakes. I recently added a section to the Radio City 2 wikipedia page on the recent balloon release. You have deleted it with the comment: "WP:PRIMARY Facebook-sourced section". I have reviewed rule WP:PRIMARY and I do not see anywhere that it prohibits my use of the sources. The quotes are hosted on Facebook but on the official pages of the organisations involved (the Marine Conservation Society and the Sealife Trust). They are not user comments, hearsay, or anything else I would think would prohibit their use. Surely an organisation's official Facebook page is a valid outlet for their official views? I would be grateful if you could comment, as I say I am very new to Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.192.139.94 (talk) 10:03, 7 January 2017 (UTC) EDIT: Apologies just saw I wasn't signed in for this comment. I guess you've seen her comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sasha Gebler. I've noticed that, having "resigned" (again), she's been through her talk page, deleting any comments and warnings that might reflect badly on her. I'm of a mind to restore them in case she tries to use this against the project. What do you think? Should I take this to ANI? Deb (talk) 19:19, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- I've e-mailed you today. Deb (talk) 10:53, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Why dont you have a look at some of my articles on, for instance, Hans Rehfisch? Just a thought. Or perhaps you don't like to look at the evidence in front of your eyes. I wrote that because I met someone who told me about him at a party. I guess that constitutes too close a close connection and COI, in your book. I deleted those entries in my Talk page because they were in bright red, which I find offensive, as one of your number was repeatedly trying to goad me into completing a page I had no interest in completing. Do feel free to reinstate them if you really must. The others were disambiguation pages. They had a note on them saying I'm free to delete them. Make no mistake, I have not admited a conflict of interest. I have done a huge amount on Wikipedia in good faith and I'm deeply offended by your comments. I won't be contributing any more and am upset that I ever did. That's why I've resigned 'again'. Gallura (talk) 20:45, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Illma Gore
If you looked at the referred source you would see that it not unreliable. The host of the podcast has spoken with the head of a charity organization Illma Gore promised money to on her GoFundMe page. If the video was too long for you to look through I went in and found the time for you. It starts at 24:01 and ends 29:00. (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=diA8yOXPO3Y&t=24m1s) .
